My Speech to the United Nations Security Council on Historical Origins of the Russia/Ukraine War

Lori Spencer
On June 4, 2025 I was invited to address the United Nations Security Council Arria Formula Meeting “Understanding and Resolving The Ideological Roots of the Ukranian Crisis.”
You can watch the full UNSC meeting here at UN Web TV.
https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k12/k12bfxhg4t
My presentation to the UNSC focused on the secret history of U.S. recruitment, funding, arming, and training of Ukrainian nationalists (many of whom were wanted Nazi war criminals) during the Cold War — a topic I’ve researched and written about extensively over the years.
My Hidden History Revealed podcast series takes a deep dive into the Central Intelligence Agency’s covert collaboration with the Nazis in Ukraine which was kept from the American public for more than half a century.

The Kennedys and Israel

Lori Spencer
On this episode of "The Kennedy Chronicles" we explore the special relationship between the #Kennedy family and the nation of #Israel.
Young #JFK visited #Palestine in 1939, later again as Senator after the creation of Israel, and as president, cemented U.S. support for Israel by creating our official special relationship in 1961. Kennedy was also the first American president to sell arms to Israel.
Read more about John F. Kennedy's foreign policy towards Israel in this thread:

President Kennedy's younger brother, Robert F. Kennedy, first visited British Mandate of Palestinein 1948, one month before Israel's Declaration of Independence. Twenty-two years old at the time, he was reporting on the tense situation in the region for The Boston Post. During his stay, he grew to admire the Jewish inhabitants of the area and their fight for freedom in the Israel/Arab war.
#RFK became a staunch defender of Israel and as Senator voted to send the country 50 Phantom Jets for defense. This angered a 24 year-old Palestinian immigrant named Sirhan Sirhan, who cited Kennedy's #Zionism as the reason why he murdered Sen. Kennedy in 1968.
Read more about RFK's relationship with Israel, and how it contributed to his assassination here:

The third Kennedy brother, Sen. Edward Kennedy, #RFKJr, and all of the Kennedy grandchildren, continue the tradition of their ancestors as committed #Zionists to the present day.

*NEW* RFK Files: A Guided Tour

Lori Spencer
57 years after a California jury convicted Sirhan #Sirhan for the murder of Senator Robert F. Kennedy, the U.S. National Archives is finally releasing tens of thousands of formerly-secret documents related to the assassination.
The 24 year-old Palestinian immigrant shot #RFK in a fury over the 1968 presidential candidate's support for arming #Israel with 50 Phantom jets.
When Sirhan was apprehended by Sen. Kennedy's bodyguards in the Los Angeles Ambassador Hotel on the night of June 5, 1968, he reportedly shouted "I did it for my country!"
His country was #Palestine.
It was the first act of Palestinian terror on American soil -- sparking five and a half decades more of skyjackings, hostage-takings, #terrorism, and war that continues today in the Middle East.
The release continued disclosures of national secrets ordered by Donald #Trump after he began his second presidency in January. It comes a month after thousands more unredacted files related to the 1963 #JFK assassination were disclosed.
Lawyers for #Kennedy’s killer have said for decades that he is unlikely to reoffend or pose a danger to society. In 2021, a parole board deemed Sirhan suitable for release. But the California governor, Gavin Newson, rejected the decision in 2022. In 2023, a different panel denied him release, saying he still lacks remorse and/or understanding of what caused him to shoot Kennedy. Sirhan, now 81, still sits in prison.
The late senator’s sonRobert F Kennedy Jr, who now serves as Trump’s health and human services secretary, commended the president and his director of national intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, for what he called their “courage” and “dogged efforts” to release the files.
“Lifting the veil on the RFK papers is a necessary step toward restoring trust in American government,” Kennedy Jr said in a statement.
Who Killed Bobby Kennedy?
I devoted much of 2024 to a re-examination of Sirhan's case -- reviewing original evidence and testimony presented by both the prosecution and the defense -- in the production of my 13-part true crime podcast series, Who Killed Bobby Kennedy?
Now that I've had time to review the first tranche of these newly-released #RFKFiles (about 10,000 pages -- another 64,000 pages were just released last week, with more reportedly to come), I made many new discoveries within that provide fascinating insights and context to our understanding of this historic murder case.
Those findings are presented in a NEW episode of my #truecrime podcast series, which takes viewers on a guided tour of the most important documents I've found in the archives so far.
Among the boxes of long-secret files were never-before-seen photographs of RFK's autopsy taken by then-Los Angeles County Coroner Dr. Thomas Noguchi. Because the photos are extremely graphic they are not included here, as showing them would violate the community guidelines of platforms such as YouTube that host this podcast series, and go against the wishes of the Kennedy family, who have asked responsible journalists not to disseminate them.
It took seven months and 14 episodes to at last unravel the full truth. It's all here. Everything you ever wanted to know about the murder of Bobby Kennedy; from the archives of federal government agencies -- the FBI, CIA, Department of Justice, State Department, and the White Houses of every president from #LBJ to #Obama.
Why were these documents kept secret for nearly six decades? What was the perceived risk to National Security? What did the government NOT want us to know abut the RFK assassination?
I'll unravel it in this special bonus episode of the "Who Killed Bobby Kennedy" series.
Don't miss the YouTube premiere live May 12 at 9 PM Eastern. (Set a reminder at the link below.)
It is my hope that you find this series as interesting and enlightening as I did putting it all together. Producing "Who Killed Bobby Kennedy" involved a lot of hard work, and I'd like to thank everyone who assisted and participated. Most of all, I'd like to thank YOU for watching!

JFK and LBJ: Friends or Foes?

Lori Spencer
The political partnership between John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson was a mystery from the day it began -- on July 14, 1960, when #JFK asked #LBJ to be his running mate at the Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles.
Both Sen. #Kennedy and Sen. Johnson's closest advisors, friends, and even family members were vehemently opposed to Johnson joining JFK on the ticket (most famously Jack's campaign manager and brother Bobby Kennedy, who tried several times to talk Jack and Lyndon out of it).
But Jack's mind was pretty well made up. It had to be Johnson. As he told TIME Magazine's Hugh Sidey a few days before the convention:
“There is no question in my mind,” said Kennedy. “Lyndon would be the best man I could get to run with me. He’s a Texan, a Southerner, he knows Congress, Washington, and he has the ability to be President. But I’m convinced he wouldn’t take it. He’d be more powerful staying as majority leader. What do you think?”
Sidey had already gone over the question every which way with L.B.J. the night before, until Johnson got irritated and stormed that he would not do the Kennedy family’s bidding.
He declared that the vice presidency was a worthless job compared with being Senate leader, related the sad tenure of “Cactus Jack” Garner, who had called the office nothing more than a “pitcher of warm spit,” and said Speaker Sam Rayburn had told him to stay far away from it. (Cactus Jack had actually used much more colorful language, saying that the vice presidency "wasn't worth a bucket of warm piss.")
"If he could not be President," Sidey later recalled, "he would stay in the Senate, Johnson had told me with such rage and finality — his nose an inch from mine — that I chalked him off."
Kennedy listened, grinned, nodded. Both were awed and amused by the tumultuous Johnson.
“Have you decided on a vice-presidential nominee?” Sidey asked.
“Yes,” answered Kennedy.
“Can you tell me?” Sidey inquired.
"I will if you promise not to publish it,” J.F.K. replied.
“Senator, don’t do that to me,” Sidey implored. “We’ve got two days before the magazine is printed, and I’m sure the name will leak. I don’t want to be bound. So don’t tell me.”
Kennedy gave a wry smile, said, “O.K., I won’t.”
In the future president's mind, the only path to victory against Nixon in November was LBJ. (And he was right. Without LBJ bringing in Southern votes, JFK would have likely lost that razor-thin 1960 race.)
During his presidency and long after his assassination, rumors swirled about the Johnsons and the Kennedys not getting along. #RFK and Lyndon by all accounts hated each other. However, the relationship between JFK and LBJ was far more friendly and based on mutual respect.
What's the real truth about LBJ and JFK? Was Johnson ever trusted by President Kennedy? Did the Vice President have anything to do with the President's 1963 assassination, as some conspiracists allege, thus effecting an Executive Branch coup d'etat?

The Kennedys: After Camelot Ep. 2 Rosemary and Eunice

Lori Spencer
In this new History Book Club audio podcast series, historian Lori Spencer reads and discusses selected chapters from "After Camelot: A History of the Kennedy family from 1968-Present" by New York Times bestselling author and prolific Kennedy chronicler J. Randy Taraborelli.
This book picks up the story where my investigative true crime 13-part podcast series "Who Killed Bobby Kennedy?" left off: what happened to the #Kennedys after the assassinations of #JFK and #RFK?
In Episode 2, we tell the sad story of Rosemary Kennedy, who was infamously subjected to a lobotomy operation at age 23 to "cure" what was most likely a mild, treatable form of #autism. The failed operation destroyed young Rosemary's brain and left her severely handicapped for the rest of her life.
We will also explore how Rosemary's tragedy was covered up by the politically ambitious Kennedy family for decades, until one brave sibling -- Rosemary's sister Eunice Kennedy #Shriver -- made inclusion and proper treatment of mental and physical disabilities her life's mission and founded the #SpecialOlympics in 1968.
President #Trump's Secretary of Health and Human Services is #RFKJr, nephew of Eunice and Rosemary Kennedy. His recent controversial statements on the causes of autism and plans for an autism registry database set off a firestorm of anger among disability advocates, which we will discuss in a historical context of #eugenics and outdated approaches to viewing people with intellectual disabilities.
I hope you'll enjoy this excellent book along with me, as we trace every branch of the Kennedy family tree from Joe and Rose Kennedy through their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; their tragedies and triumphs, told accurately and thoroughly by the author.
Join me for "The Kennedys: After Camelot" -- a continuing history book club series that explores the lives of Sen. Edward Kennedy, Eunice and Sargeant Shriver, JFK's sisters Jean and Pat, the Lawfords, the Smiths, Ethel, Jackie, and Joan Kennedy, Caroline Kennedy, JFK Jr., and of course, HHS Secretary RFK Jr. as well.
This history book club series is in memory of RFK's widow, the late Ethel Skakel Kennedy.

Joe Kennedy's WAR With FDR!

Lori Spencer
In this "Kennedy Chronicles" episode, more of my conversation with journalist S.L. Kanathan in India about #Kennedy family history.
Here, we discuss the rise and fall of Joseph P. Kennedy, founding father of this American dynasty.
Young Joe Kennedy dreamed of being the first Catholic president one day, and after serving in President Franklin D. #Roosevelt's administration (as the first chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, then on the Maritime Commission, and finally, as Ambassador to the Court of St. James in Great Britain), it seemed Joe was well on his way to making that dream come true by 1940.
Kennedy had the drive, determination, and savvy to make every endeavor he set his sights on manifest -- from banking to the stock market to the movie industry to government -- but his goal in elected politics didn't pan out. In fact, it was an embarrassing failure that left him disgraced; shut out of political power centers for the rest of his life.
On this episode, I'll tell you why Joseph Kennedy never became president, and how his relationship with #FDR crumbled over rising war tensions on the eve of #WWII.
This week marks the 80th anniversary of FDR's death -- an opportune moment to take a deep dive into the complex, often strained political partnership between Kennedy and Roosevelt that eventually turned into a heated enmity before their explosive final bitter argument.
Franklin famously told First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt afterwards: "I never want to see that sonofabitch again!" (And indeed, he did not. The two men never mended fences before FDR's death on April 12, 1945.)
Joe Kennedy was finished politically after that, but like a tree that falls in the forest, Ambassador Kennedy's fall from grace allowed the sun to shine on the saplings: his sons Joe Jr., Jack, Bobby, and Teddy -- allowing them to grow.
It's a fascinating story you won't want to miss on today's Kennedy Chronicles!

How Jackie Kennedy Raised Her Kids Amid Chaos and Tragedy

Lori Spencer
In this "Kennedy Chronicles" episode, more of my conversation with journalist S.L. Kanathan in India about #Kennedy family history.
Here, we discuss Jackie Kennedy's legacy as First Mother, and explored the question so often asked over the years: "how did she manage to raise two very normal, seemingly well-adjusted kids amidst chaos and tragedy?"
We also contrast Jackie's parenting approach to that of her sister-in-law Ethel Kennedy, and Ethel's distant, often estranged relationships with her children (especially #RFKJr) that resulted in public disgrace for some and death for others.
I also shared my own recollections of #JFKJr., who was a friend of mine for eight years prior to his death in a 1999 plane crash.
It's a fascinating story you won't want to miss on today's Kennedy Chronicles!
Jackie's private pain is explained in even greater depth on this week's episode of my book club series, "The Kennedys: After Camelot," which you can listen to here.

RFK Murder: The Motive (Strange Bedfellows, Ep. 38 w/ Author Mel Ayton)

Lori Spencer
56 years ago this month, Sen. Robert F. Kennedy was gunned down in a kitchen pantry of the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles.
My ongoing investigative series on the RFK assassination continues on Episode 38 of "Strange Bedfellows" with tonight's guest, historian Mel Ayton (author of "Sirhan Sirhan: The Forgotten Terrorist") -- who will tell us what motivated Kennedy's killer.
Researchers have spent the past 56 years bogged down in ballistics and bullet trajectories, all the while overlooking the most important aspect of the crime: motive.
We are all guilty of focusing too much on the HOW, and not enough on the WHY.
So, why did he do it? Sirhan told us why. Many times.
Minutes after shooting Sen. Kennedy, Sirhan told arresting officers:
"I can explain! I did it for my country! I love my country."
After being convicted of Kennedy's murder, Sirhan told his jailer:
“It’s not very many people my age who is considered a martyr by his people.
Just think, I’ll go down in history as a martyr and will always be remembered, at least by my countrymen.”
He told us, over and over again, why he killed Kennedy. He did it for his country; for Palestine.
Sirhan envisioned himself as a revolutionary, committing a revolutionary act. And it's true that he did put the Palestinian liberation movement on the front pages of newspapers for the very first time. Assassinating RFK brought attention to the plight of Palestinians -- and that's exactly what Sirhan intended to do.
In addition, Sirhan's anti-Zionism was the primary motivating emotion that drove him to target high-profile political leaders for assassination. More than a year before he shot RFK, Sirhan was already naming the pro-Israel politicians he wanted to kill in his notebook, starting at the top: President Lyndon Baines Johnson.
(See this thread for more details.)
https://twitter.com/RealLoriSpencer/status/1799558104834560147
Sirhan also wanted to murder U.N. Ambassador Arthur Goldberg.
(More info on Sirhan';s notebook entries about killing Goldberg below)
https://twitter.com/RealLoriSpencer/status/1799561907415711884
Even after he was locked up awaiting trial for killing RFK, Sirhan was wishing death upon Vice President Hubert Humphrey.
(See this thread for more)
https://twitter.com/RealLoriSpencer/status/1800377657546379541
After his arrest, Sirhan was asked if he felt any shame. "Hell no!" He said.
Clearly, Sirhan had no remorse for what he did. He was quite proud of himself.
While behind bars, Sirhan constantly asked for newspapers from the Arab world, eager to read what was being written about his "heroic act" by those who -- unlike Americans -- fully understood his motives.
Indeed, Sirhan was hailed a hero in Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, and back home in Palestine. Even the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin Al-Husseini instructed his fellow Arabs to give Sirhan all possible aid after his arrest. The Grand Mufti's call was answered by Arab lawyers who came to assist Sirhan, and Arab Americans who held fundraisers for his legal defense fund and provided financial support for the Sirhan family.
In 1968, Sirhan's motives were lost on most Americans, who rationalized the assassination of Robert Kennedy as the senseless act of a madman. We, as a nation, did not yet understand the complexities or history of the Middle East conflict. This was before the era of Palestinian skyjackings, hostage-takings, the Munich Olympics massacre, terrorist attacks, and 9/11.
In 2003, The Los Angeles Times wrote that Sirhan "fired the first shot in the War on Terror."
Indeed, he did. Sirhan's name will be recorded in the history books as the first Palestinian terrorist to strike at the heart of America, on American soil.
Tonight on Episode 38 of "Strange Bedfellows" British author and historian Mel Ayton will give us a sneak preview of his upcoming biography of Sirhan Bishara Sirhan (his second book about Sirhan).
Ayton's previous book "The Forgotten Terrorist: Sirhan Sirhan and the Assassination of Robert F. Kennedy" is recommended reading for anyone seeking to understand Sirhan's Arab nationalism, his antisemitism, his past in Palestine, his deep-rooted hatred of Israel, and his motives for the crime. The 2019 edition features a Foreword by Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz.
Mel Ayton says that Kennedy's son RFK Jr. (currently running for president as an Independent) is wrong about a conspiracy in his father's murder, and tonight he will explain why.
Sirhan is as guilty as sin, Ayton argues -- and he makes a very compelling case.
Don't miss this interview tonight at 9 PM Eastern on "Strange Bedfellows!"

RFK Murder Trial: An Open And Shut Case?

RFK Jr. News Channel
As part of my ongoing investigative series "Who Killed Bobby Kennedy?" marking the 55th anniversary of Sirhan's murder trial, I recently spoke to #JFK/#RFK assassination historian James DiEugenio about the evidence in the case, which Jim believes points to a #conspiracy.
I disagree with my friend Jim on this case, arguing that the jury reached the correct verdict in April 1969 when they unanimously decided that Sirhan Sirhan was guilty of first degree murder for the killing of Senator Robert F. #Kennedy and the attempted murder of five other innocent bystanders at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles on June 5, 1968.
Sirhan's lead defense attorney Grant Cooper said in his final argument at the trial that he felt #Sirhan should spend the rest of his days in the penitentiary, asserting that "American public opinion will see to it that the assassin is never released."
Sirhan's lawyer said the only circumstances in which he could foresee Sirhan's release would be if the United States were to "trade" him for some American in captivity in an Arab state.
In this friendly debate between two longtime historians of the case with differing views, Jim DiEugenio brings the case for Sirhan's defense. I argue for the prosecution.
We also discussed how the first degree murder verdict was in a bizarre way a victory for Sirhan.
The former racetrack exercise boy has denied all along that he was seriously ill mentally and told psychiatrists he wanted to be a hero in the eyes of the Arab world, a martyr for #Palestine.
The official motive for Sirhan's killing of RFK was "anti-#Zionism." Sirhan was angered by Kennedy's support for #Israel, and his Senate vote to send military aid to the country.
Jim DiEugenio is editor in chief at KennedysAndKing.com, author of numerous books on the assassinations of the 1960s,and wrote the screenplay for Oliver Stone's "JFK Revisited" documentary series.
Catch the premiere tonight at 9 PM Eastern.

Campuses In Crisis: Where Does RFK Stand? (Kennedy Americans, Ep. 30)

RFK Jr. News Channel
24 Independent Presidential candidate Robert F. #Kennedy Jr. has been strangely silent the past few weeks about the #antisemitic, pro-#Hamas protests happening on college campuses.
Although #RFKJr has been asked about it in recent interviews, and answers briefly in a lawyerly manner about the difference between demonstrations on public vs. private property, he has otherwise completely avoided talking about the issue.
While every other candidate in the presidential race issued statements on this national crisis immediately, Kennedy waited nearly three weeks before speaking up.
Kennedy finally posted a tweet about the campus unrest Saturday outlining what he would do as president to ensure fairness to all students on campus, but said nothing about what he would do to stop the lawlessness and violence we are witnessing on campuses across America.
https://twitter.com/RobertKennedyJr/status/1786943517710786626
Kennedy has proclaimed himself to be strongly pro-Israel, and supports #Israel's war against Hamas. At the same time, he says he is "very pro-Palestinian," and supports the two-state solution that would establish #Palestine as an independent sovereign nation.
Is Kennedy doing the same "both sides" dance as President #Biden, afraid of losing progressive Democrats and Gen Z voters? Are his campaign advisers telling Bobby to tone down his pro-Israel rhetoric in order to appease the woke mob?
At a time when #antisemitism escalating to frightening levels, #Jews are being assaulted in the streets, and some protesters are issuing calls to "kill all the Zionists," it feels like open season on Jews.
The exclusion of Jewish "#Zionists" from campuses, establishment of "Zionist-free zones," Jewish students not being allowed to attend class, acts of harassment, intimidation and violence, hate speech and symbols of Jew hatred on campus property are all flagrant violations of the 1964 Civil Rights Act -- which is not being enforced by campus administrators, state governments, or the federal government.
On this edition of Maverick News we ask why President #Biden isn't doing what President John F. #Kennedy did: send in the National Guard to protect the rights of ALL students, stop the violence, enforce the law of the land, and restore order on campus.
The Kennedy legacy is civil rights. It is time for #RFK to pick up the mantle of #JFK and his father, Attorney General Robert Kennedy, on this divisive issue that is tearing our nation apart, and undoing 60 years of racial progress started by his ancestors.
His uncle Jack's campaign slogans during the 1960 were "a time for greatness," and "leadership for the 60s." Can his nephew meet that high standard now? Because this is a time for greatness, not timidity. We need moral clarity and leadership for the 20s, right now.
Now is the time for Kennedy to shine; to lead; to do something bold.
I'll tell you what that is tonight on Maverick News. Join us at 9 PM Eastern.

RFK Murder Trial: The Evidence (w/ Jim DiEugenio)

RFK Jr. News Channel
The trial of Sirhan Sirhan for the murder of Robert F. #Kennedy concluded 55 years ago this week after four months of courtroom drama.
The jury found Sirhan guilty of first degree murder for the assassination of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, and attempted murder of five other innocent bystanders wounded by his barrage of bullets at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles.
The seven men and five women, who deliberated 16 hours and 42 minutes before reaching their verdict, found the young Palestinian was mentally capable of mature premeditation before shooting down the senator on June 5, 1968.
As the verdict was announced Sirhan, who had been nervously chewing at his fingers, stared straight ahead and showed no emotion.
After a one-day recess, the same jurors heard arguments as to whether Sirhan's fate should be life in prison or a sentence to the gas chamber at San Quentin. The penalty phase lasted only a few days in contrast to the 15-week trial.
The prosecution did not seek the death penalty but told the jurors either sentence would be just. The jury's ultimate unanimous verdict was death in the gas chamber for Sirhan. (The sentence was commuted to life in prison a few years later when California abolished the death penalty.)
As part of my ongoing investigative series "Who Killed Bobby Kennedy?" marking the 55th anniversary of Sirhan's trial, I recently spoke to #JFK/#RFK assassination historian James DiEugenio about the evidence in the case, which Jim believes points to a #conspiracy.
In this highlight from our interview, we dive into the autopsy and ballistics evidence presented at trial. In Sirhan's defense, DiEugenio argues that it was impossible for Sirhan's bullets to have hit and killed Senator Kennedy.
Jim DiEugenio is editor in chief at KennedysAndKing.com, author of numerous books on the assassinations of the 1960s,and wrote the screenplay for Oliver Stone's "JFK Revisited" documentary series.

Who Was Haj Amin Al-Husseini, Grand Mufti of Jerusalem?

Lori Spencer
As the Führer hid in his bunker and prepared for his suicide, he penned his last political will and testament.
Adolf Hitler's last written words were a plea to the world to continue to “resist mercilessly the poisoner of all nations, international Jewry,” a plea most thoroughly and systematically heeded by the Islamic Jihadists and one of their primary movements,Ḥarakat al-Muqāwamah al-ʾIslāmiyyah, the Islamic Resistance Movement known as #Hamas.
To fully grasp the ideology that drives Hamas and the Palestinian liberation movement today, one must first understand the history that gave rise to it -- and specifically, Nazi collaborator Haj Amin al-Husseini, the tie that binds #Hitler to Hamas.
Haj Amin al-Husseini came to power through a British act of appeasement after he had been tried in absentia and found guilty of inciting riots in #Palestine in 1920; the riots arose in response to the first proposal for a two-state solution outlined by the Faisal-Weizmann Agreement of January 1919.
Attempting to calm the Arab population, British mandate governor Herbert Samuel appointed him Mufti of Jerusalem on 8 May 1921. Among the newly appointed Mufti’s first actions was a declaration of #jihad against the British and the #Jews.
In March 1933 he paid his first official visit to the new Nazi German General Consul Heinrich Wolff in Jerusalem. Once again wanted by the British for inciting the Arab Revolt of 1936 – 1939, al-Husseini fled Palestine for #Iraq.
After inciting an overthrow of the Iraqi government and murderous pogroms that resulted in the slaughter of hundreds of Jews, the Mufti found safe harbor in Berlin, where he was handsomely rewarded by the #Nazis with money, a lavish lifestyle, and armed guards. He was employed by Nazi Germany making propaganda radio broadcasts for the Arab world.
I've written several lengthy threads about the Grand Mufti on X (formerly Twitter), diving deep into the complex history of Nazi/Arab collaboration, such as this one:
https://twitter.com/RealLoriSpencer/status/1712385314902147152?s=20
As early as January 1941 al-Husseini was recruiting Bosnian Muslims to serve in the Waffen SS and in SS killing units. The largest of the Mufti’s Muslim killing units was the infamous 13thHandschar Division of 21,065 men.
As a result of his murderous actions in service to the Nazis, al-Husseini was charged with war crimes -- yet, he managed to evade prosecution at #Nuremberg and flee, aided by British intelligence.
In June 1946 he turned up in Cairo, where, as noted above, the Muslim Brotherhood gave him a hero’s welcome.
That same year the Mufti took in his second cousin Yasser #Arafat as his protégé; he brought in a former Nazi commando officer to teach Arafat “the fine points of guerilla warfare.” Some scholars argue that “al-Husseini was himself most likely the true founder of the al-Fatah,… Arafat’s terror cell… the nucleus of the #PLO.”
This thread relies on OSS and CIA documents declassified 50 years after #WWII under the Nazi War Crimes Disclosure Act of 1998, tracing the Grand Mufti's activities after the war -- which included terrorist bombings, the assassination of a King, and the funding of terror groups.

Hamas emerged immediately after the outbreak of the Palestinians’ First Intifada against Israel as a militant Palestinian wing of the Muslim Brotherhood on 9 December 1987.
The Movement was founded by Sheikh Ahmed Yassin and his comrades Dr. Abdel Aziz al-Rantisi and Mahmoud al-Zahar. Yassin grew up in awe of Haj Amin al-Husseini. He joined the Muslim Brotherhood in 1957 and in 1973 established the Islamic Congress in #Gaza to expand the influence of the Brotherhood; in 1978 he was among the founders of the Islamic University of #Gaza in #Palestine.
Yassin and his cohorts embraced the Nazis’ fundamental view that the #Jews are “the dirtiest and meanest of all races, defiling the most sanctified and honored spot on earth,” making “no distinctions between Jews, Zionists, and Israelis.”
As in all ideologies driven by Jew hatred, from Hitler to Hamas, where the Jew is the enemy, #Judaism is the enemy.
Nazi ideology is alive and well today in parts of the Arab world, and especially in Gaza, where Hamas rules (for now).
In this highlight from Episode 28 of "Strange Bedfellows" (with history blogger Na'omi Allen in South Africa), we give a brief history lesson of the Strangest Bedfellows of all time: the #Nazis and the Arabs.
I'll discuss with Na'omi the lasting influence of the Grand Mufti in radical Islamist movements like Hamas.
We'll even show you the most popular chain of clothing stores in Gaza City today: "Hitler 1" and "Hitler 2"-- where fashionable young Palestinian #fascists buy "Hitler Chic" apparel.

America's Nazi Secret (Hidden History Revealed, Ep. 3)

Lori Spencer
In Episodes 1 and 2 of the "Hidden #History Revealed" podcast, I unraveled the story of how U.S. military intelligence (and later, the CIA) recruited, armed, funded, trained, and protected former German and Ukrainian #Nazis during the #ColdWar.
These truths were kept secret from the American people for more than half a century.
Although a few stories had leaked out over the years, historians were unable to conclusively confirm how extensive the Nazi connection was until Congress passed the Nazi War Crimes Disclosure Act in 1998, which allowed declassification and release of the files.
In Episode 3, I'll tell you about the efforts of one man -- a Department of Justice whistleblower -- whose 20 year crusade to expose the facts helped make that law possible and brought the truth to light at last.
His name is John Loftus.
As a former prosecutor with the U.S. Justice Department's Nazi-hunting unit, he had unprecedented access to top-secret #CIA and #NATO archive in the 1970s and 80s.
Now a retired attorney, Loftushas written several books about his discoveries in those underground vaults where the government buries its secrets. His classic works include "The Belarus Secret," "The Witness Tree," "The Secret War Against The #Jews" and "America's Nazi Secret."
Prepare yourself for a new episode full of shocking revelations! Premiers tonight at 9 Eastern.

HOW and WHY Sirhan Killed RFK

RFK Jr. News Channel
As part of our ongoing investigative series marking the 55th anniversary of Sirhan Sirhan's 1969 trial for the murder of Senator Robert F. #Kennedy, I've recently conducted a re-review of all available materials and evidence in the case.
In Part 1 of the "Who Killed Bobby Kennedy" series, I presented original documents, trial testimony, Sirhan's own words in press interviews and in court for the prosecution, and arguments from conspiracy researcher Lisa Pease (author of the book "A Lie Too Big To Fail") for the defense, as well as #RFKJr, who also advocates for Sirhan's parole.
In Part 2 I explained why Sirhan is considered a hero in #Palestine to this day for killing #RFK over the Senator's support for #Israel. As Sirhan himself told reporters: "If I had been tried in an Arab country, no Arab court ever would have convicted me."
Sirhan's act of political violence inspired many later acts of #terrorism, aircraft hijackings, bombings, kidnappings, hostage-taking, and murders. His release from prison was demanded on numerous occasions by Palestinian terrorists over the past 50 years.
Part 3 contains our 2.5 hour in-depth interview with #JFK/RFK historian and expert James DiEugenio, author of "The Assassinations" (with Lisa Pease) and screenwriter for Oliver Stone's "JFK Revisited" documentary film series. DeEugenio makes a compelling case for conspiracy, and argues that Sirhan could not have fired the shots that killed Kennedy.
This week on Maverick News, my co-host Rick Walker asked me why I have recently changed my mind after 25 years of believing Sirhan was innocent to now being convinced of his guilt.
Over the course of researching this case for more than 35 years I've revised my views more than once, based upon where the facts and evidence lead.
I'll explain my own conclusions in Part 4 tonight at 9 PM Eastern. Don't miss this one!

Who Killed RFK? Guest: Jim DiEugenio (Strange Bedfellows, Ep. 32)

Lori Spencer
Just after midnight on June 5, 1968, Senator Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated on the campaign trail in Los Angeles, minutes after winning the California presidential primary.
The shooter apprehended at the scene was 24 year-old Sirhan Sirhan, a Palestinian immigrant, who was heard to exclaim: "I can explain! I did it for my country!"
Sirhan confessed to the crime and said he was angry at Sen. #Kennedy over his support for #Israel. The date Sirhan selected for kill #RFK was the one-year anniversary of the 1967 Six-Day War.
In 1989, Sirhan told British journalistDavid Frost: "My only connection with Robert Kennedy was his sole support of Israel and his deliberate attempt to send those 50 fighter jets to Israel to obviously do harm to the Palestinians." Some scholars believe that the assassination was the first major incident of political violence in theUnited Statesstemming from theIsraeli–Palestinian conflict.
Sirhan Bishara Sirhan is still regarded as a hero of the Palestinian Liberation Movement, who have demanded his release several times during a number of hijackings and kidnappings over the past five-and-a-half decades - including a 1972 incident when the Popular Front for the Liberation of #Palestine hijacked a Lufthansa flight with #RFK's son Joseph Kennedy onboard.
That incredible story is told in this thread:
https://twitter.com/RealLoriSpencer/status/1754096340697489719?s=20
Sirhan Sirhan turned 80 years old this month -- and is still hoping for parole. He has been denied 17 times, most recently in 2023. If his efforts succeed, Sirhan will be immediately deported back to Palestine or Jordan because he is not an American citizen.
55 years ago, the murder trial of Sirhan Sirhan was ongoing in a Los Angeles courtroom. The trial began in January, 1969 and continued for four months. The jury convicted him of first-degree murder and five counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to commit murder -- one count for each of the five other innocent bystanders Sirhan shot.
At the time of Sirhan's conviction, most Americans believed without question that Sirhan acted alone; after all, he was seen by 77 witnesses firing a gun at #RFK in the Ambassador Hotel pantry, he confessed to the crime, and was convicted by a jury. It wasn't until 6 years later that questions of a possible conspiracy began to arise.
In 1974, Kennedy campaign labor organizer Paul Schrade, along with former U.S. Congressman Allard Lowenstein, CBS News, and former Los Angeles prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi filed a personal injury civil lawsuit against Sirhan and 50 other "John Does" with the ultimate goal of compelling the Los Angeles Police Department and Sirhan to provide new or withheld evidence in the original trial.
From that point forward, a thousand RFK assassination conspiracy theories were born, and over the past half-century the voices who call for a reopening the case grow louder.
The "Free Sirhan" movement includes none other than 2024 Independent presidential candidate #RFKJr, who wants answers in his father's murder. Kennedy visited Sirhan in prison and wrote letters to the California Parole Board recommending his release.
The Kennedy family is split on the issue of Sirhan's release. RFK Jr. is joined by only one of his other siblings in calling for Sirhan's parole; all of their siblings and mother Ethel want Sirhan to die in prison.
Tonight on "Strange Bedfellows" we are pleased to welcome back Kennedy assassination historian James DiEugenio, who has written numerous books and articles on the #JFK and RFK assassinations over the past three decades. His latest book is "The JFK Assassination Chokeholds That Prove There Was A #Conspiracy."
Jim also wrote the screenplay and accompanying book for Oliver Stone's epic new documentary series "JFK Revisited: Through The Looking Glass" and is the editor-in-chief of KennedysAndKing.com -- an invaluable resource for information on the murders of President John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, and Dr. Martin Luther King.
We will take a deep dive into the evidence presented at Sirhan's trial 55 years ago for both the prosecution and the defense, as well as new information that has come forward in the years since.
Jim DiEugenio will explain why he believes Sirhan's gun could not have killed RFK, and present a compelling case for conspiracy.
A fascinating conversation is always guaranteed on "Strange Bedfellows."

Remembering Bill Hicks: 30 Years Later (Part 2)

Lori Spencer
Feb. 26 marked 30 years since Bill Hicks passed away.
Bill was a friend of mine back in the 80s/90s, and I hosted a live X Space Monday night in his honor.
Thought it might be fun to sit around the virtual campfire, tell some jokes, share some memories, and celebrate Bill’s life.
We played some clips of his best comedy bits, talked about all the amazing things Hicks accomplished in his short 32 years, and wonder what else he might have created had he lived 30 more.
Of course we couldn't refrain from some speculation about what Bill Hicks would think of our world today. His observations three decades ago are still remarkably relevant, and nearly all of the problems our country faced then still haven't been solved. (In fact, they've gotten worse!)
In Part 2, we hear Bill talking about the #JFK assassination, government conspiracies and cover-ups, lying politicians, gays in the military, and many more problems that we, as a society, still grapple with 30 years later.
The anti-intellectualism Bill talked about in 1989’s “Sane Man” comedy special was just a joke then….or was it?
35 years later, we aren’t laughing anymore. Did Bill have a crystal ball or what?
Did he have a time machine; or was he an alien who was visiting our planet only for 32 years, before the spaceship picked him up and took him home?
We talked about all that and more. If you missed this three-hour comedy special live, catch Part 2 tonight at 8 PM Eastern.

The Russia-Ukraine War Started 75 Years Ago (Hidden History, Ep. 2)

LoriSpencer
As we mark the two-year anniversary of the #Russia-#Ukraine war, now seems like a perfect time to explore its origins.
On Episode 2 of "Hidden History Revealed," we will discover the recently uncovered truth through a declassified document trail which shows -- beyond any doubt -- that the current U.S.-backed proxy war in Ukraine didn't just start in February 2002; or even in 2014.
The war was started more than 75 years ago by the CIA, using Ukrainian nationalist "freedom fighters" to destabilize the #USSR, with the ultimate goal of effecting regime change in Soviet Russia.
Here's a handy thread to read as you follow along with the podcast, with images of key documents and links to more in the U.S. National Archives.

Hidden History: Why A Ukrainian Nazi War Criminal Was Hired By the CIA (Ep. 1)

LoriSpencer
As the two-year anniversary of the war between #Russia and #Ukraine approaches this month, I've created a new "Hidden History" podcast series about the Central Intelligence Agency's collaboration with #NazisInUkraine.
Last week Russian president Vladimir #Putin told Tucker Carlson that the CIA was behind the 2014 Maidan coup, secretly colluding with radical neo-Nazi elements in the country to overthrow the elected government.
Putin declined to go into the details, because it's a very long story. He could have said more --much more -- about this collaboration which was kept secret from the American public for more than half a century.
Documents declassified under the Nazi War Crimes Disclosure Act of 1998 finally revealed the truth: that the CIA began recruiting Ukrainian nationalists as anti-Soviet sabotage forces at the beginning of the Cold War in the late 1940s, with the ultimate goal of regime change in the Soviet Union.
On Episode 1, I'll tell you the incredible story of how CIA Director Allen Dulles personally brought Mykola Lebed -- a high-ranking Ukrainian Nazi war criminal and convicted murderer -- to the United States, and gave him a job at the CIA.
Despite efforts by a few intrepid journalists to expose Lebed, and Department of Justice Nazi-hunters to prosecute him, the U.S. government protected Lebed until his death in 1998.
Who was Mykola Lebed? Depends on who you ask.
By various accounts, he was an assassin, a freedom fighter, a terrorist, a hero, a villain, a prisoner, a refugee, a Nazi collaborator, a genocidal maniac, and a ruthless war criminal.
To the Central Intelligence Agency, which bankrolled his activities for close to half a century, he was known as “Uncle Louie.”
In 1934 Lebed was sentenced to death for the murder of Polish official Bronisław Pieracki. The sentence was commuted in 1936 to lifetime imprisonment, and Lebed managed to escape prison during the the German invasion of Poland in 1939.
In 1940, The OUN (Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists) split into two factions: the OUN-B for loyalists ofStepan Bandera, and the OUN-M for followers of Andrei Melnik. Lebed was a leader of the #Bandera group.
The #Nazis sent Bandera to Sachsenhausen concentration camp in 1942 after he declared Ukraine an independent state. Lebed then became the de facto leader of the Bandera faction, which largely controlled the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), through the end of the war. Over the following few years, the UPA was responsible for tens of thousands of murders.
After the end of World War II, Western intelligence agencies sought to acquire OUN members as informants and infiltrators. The OUN was avowedly anti-#Communist, and it already had a network of trained guerilla fighters at the ready for an anticipated Soviet offensive.
The United Kingdom’s MI6, their analogue to the CIA, opted to work with the Bandera, who later died under mysterious circumstances, allegedly murdered by the #KGB.
The #CIA chose to work with #Lebed, then the Foreign Minister of the Ukrainian Supreme Liberation Council (UHVR). Lebed still had considerable influence among Ukrainian nationalists.
In the 1950s the Agency put Lebed to work in a propaganda operation called PROJECT AERODYNAMIC, setting him up with offices in New York City where he created Ukrainian language, anti-Soviet radio programs, pamphlets, and books to be distributed in the #USSR.
Later, the CIA shielded Lebed from allegations and deportation because he was too valuable of an asset and any publicity could compromise the entire project.

The Siege of Leningrad and Burt Lancaster's "Unknown War"

Lori Spencer
The Russian city of St. Petersburg on Saturday marked the 80th anniversary of the end of a devastating World War II siege by Nazi forces with a series of memorial events attended by Russian President Vladimir #Putin and close allies. #Leningrad80
The #Kremlin leader laid flowers at a monument to fallen Soviet defenders of the city, then called #Leningrad, on the banks of the Neva River, and then at Piskarevskoye Cemetery, where hundreds of thousands of siege victims are buried.
On Saturday afternoon, Putin was joined by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Gatchina, a town outside #StPetersburg that once housed camps for Soviet prisoners of war, for the unveiling of a statue commemorating civilians killed during the Nazi onslaught.
The Red Army broke the nearly two-and-a-half year blockade on Jan. 19, 1943, after more than 900 days of fierce fighting. Estimates of the death toll vary, but historians agree that more than 1 million Leningrad residents perished from hunger, or air and artillery bombardments, during the siege.
It is estimated that over 600,000 Leningrad residents died of hunger -- far more than died from bombs or artillery fire.
Putin was born and raised in Leningrad, and his #WWII veteran father suffered wounds while fighting for the city. Putin's elder brother died of starvation at the age of two. He is buried in a mass grave, where the president lays a ceremonial wreath every year.
On this 80th anniversary of the liberation of Leningrad from the #Nazis, we will take you on a deep dive into the history of that historic battle and show you some incredible footage from the Soviet and German archives that Westerners rarely ever see.
In 1978, actor Burt Lancaster co-produced a 20-part documentary series about World War Two on the Eastern front called "The Unknown War."
The series was produced with the help of the Soviet Union, who opened their private archives of footage captured by Red Army photographers during the war for this production. Nearly four million feet of raw film footage was stored alongside German films captured by the Allies after the war for 35 years but never exhibited to the public -- until "The Unknown War" showed it to the world for the first time.
In this special report, we will show you excerpts from this mammoth 20-part series specific to the Battle for Leningrad, and tell you the amazing backstory of Burt Lancaster's personal mission to make this historic film documenting WWII like you've never seen it before.
Tune in tonight at 9 PM Eastern for the premiere.

RFK Killer Sirhan a "Hero" in Palestine

RFK Jr. News Channel
55 years ago this month, the trial of Sirhan Sirhan got underway for the murder of 1968 Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. #Kennedy. The trial lasted three months.
Eventually the jury found him guilty of first degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to commit murder (five counts; one for each of the other people Sirhan shot).
The official motive for Sirhan’s murder of #RFK was “anti-#Zionism.”
After he was captured by Kennedy’s bodyguards, witnesses in the Ambassador Hotel kitchen heard Sirhan say: “I can explain. I did it for my country. I love my country."
On Episode 20 of the "Kennedy Americans" podcast, we took a deep dive into the evidence for both the prosecution and the defense. Was Sirhan a mind-controlled patsy, or a Palestinian terrorist?
Whether Sirhan fired the fatal shots that killed #RFK or not -- a topic that is still debated among historians of the case today -- there is no doubt that Sirhan is heralded as a hero in the Palestinian Liberation Movement for assassinating Senator Kennedy (an act Sirhan claims he has no memory of).
Shortly after the RFK assassination, Al #Fatah, the Arab Commando organization, distributed thousands of posters with pictures of Sirhan over the words, “I did it for my country!"
In September 1970 the Popular Front for the Liberation of #Palestine (PFLP) hijacked three passenger planes and demanded the release of Sirhan Sirhan from prison. After releasing the hostages, the Palestinian hijackers blew up one of the planes on a Cairo runway "in retaliation for the United States' support of #Israel."
Three Arabs hijacked a West German jumbo jet in February 1972 on which RFK's eldest son Joseph P. Kennedy (then 19 years old) was a passenger. The plane, on a flight from New Delhi to Athens, landed safely eight hours later at Aden, Southern #Yemen. That specific flight was targeted because the terrorists knew Kennedy would be on board.
In 1973, when the Black September group burst into the embassy of Saudi Arabia in Khartoum and took 10 hostages, their demands included the release of Sirhan Sirhan from prison.
Sirhan told David Frost in a 1989 interview: "I wanted to show that the Palestinian problem didn't just erupt with the assassination of #Kennedy," a reference to the displacement of Palestinians after the Arab-Israeli war of 1948.
"If I had shot Bobby Kennedy in an Arab country, I doubt any Arab court would have convicted me," he said with a smile.
By killing RFK Sirhan advanced the cause of the Palestinians, a cause which promoted the return of Arab land from the state of Israel.
He told Robert Kaiser in 1969, "They (the Palestinians) want action. They want results. Hey! I produced action for them. I'm a big hero over there."
Sirhan Sirhan is now 79. If he is ever released on parole he will most likely be deported immediately back to Palestine or Jordan because he is not a U.S. citizen. Will he receive a hero's welcome in the Arab world? We can only wonder.
In this highlight from Episode 24 of "Strange Bedfellows" I discuss with guest Caleb Maupin growing concerns over #RFKJr's safety as he now finds himself treading the same dangerous waters that inflamed his father's convicted killer: campaigning for president on an antiwar platform while staunchly supporting Israel's war against #Hamas, attracting death threats from mentally ill stalkers and political fanatics while left unprotected by the U.S. Secret Service.

How JFK Fixed The Economy

RFK Jr. News Channel
On this date in 1961 the newly sworn-in John F. #Kennedy began his first day as president.
As evidenced by the first Executive Order he signed that day, expanding food assistance to the poor (what is known today as food stamps, or SNAP benefits), relieving poverty was at the top of his agenda for the New Frontier.
#JFK also inherited a troubled #economy. The country was in a #recession -- it's third in 10 years -- at the time Kennedy took the oath of office on January 20, 1961.
On Episode 22 of the "Kennedy Americans" podcast we will take a look at President Kennedy's economic solutions that catapulted the United States into a period of unprecedented #prosperity -- while at the same time creating a more secure safety net for the disadvantaged, creating #Medicare and #Medicaid, issuing tax cuts, building infrastructure projects, and keeping #inflation down.
We'll also explore how Kennedy brought big business to heel in his clash with the steel companies, a fierce battle the president waged to ensure that American corporate interests also served the public interest.
Here's how JFK fixed our domestic economy without going to war overseas. Kennedy showed us it can be done.
We hope his nephew, 2024 presidential candidate #RFKJr follows his uncle's lead and pursues similar economic policies starting on day one of the next Kennedy administration on January 21, 2025.

Why Did MLK Support Israel

Lori Spencer
Today is Dr. Martin Luther King's birthday and #MLKDay in the United States.
Each year, American #Jews, like all Americans, mark #MLK Day by remembering him as a powerful voice against racism and for civil rights. But, for Jews, Dr. King was also something else: a uniquely important ally in the fight against #antisemitism and for a secure #Israel.
Today, Dr. King’s close bond with the Jewish community is treated only as a small footnote of his life and work. But, toward the end of his life, Dr. King devoted significant time and energy to strengthening what were becoming increasingly strained ties between Black Americans and U.S. Jews.
One issue Dr. King was particularly concerned with was the growing mischaracterization of #Zionism as #racism.
Dr. King spoke and wrote often about Israel. However, the true depth of Dr. King’s commitment to Israel was readily apparent in a September, 1967 letter he sent to Adolph Held, then president of the organization I now lead, the #Jewish Labor Committee.
Dr. King wrote Held after the Jewish leader contacted him regarding press accounts of a conference that Dr. King’s Southern Christian Leadership Conference participated in. At the meeting, strongly worded resolutions blasting Zionism and embracing the position of the Arab powers had been considered.
Understanding Held’s worries, Dr. King explained that, beyond offering opening remarks, he had no part in the conference. But, Dr. King said, had he been present during the discussion of the resolutions “I would have made it crystal clear that I could not have supported any resolution calling for Black separatism or calling for a condemnation of Israel and an unqualified endorsement of the policy of the Arab powers.”
“Israel’s right to exist as a state is incontestable,” Dr. King wrote. He then added, almost prophetically, “At the same time the great powers have the obligation to recognize that the Arab world is in a state of imposed poverty and backwardness that must threaten peace and harmony.”
Referring to the stake U.S. oil companies have in the Middle East, Dr. King went on to note that “some Arab feudal rulers are no less concerned for oil wealth and neglect the plight of their own peoples. The solution will have to be found in statesmanship by Israel and progressive Arab forces who in concert with the great powers recognize fair and peaceful solutions are the concern of all humanity and must be found.”
Were Dr. King’s comments to Held intended only to soothe a miffed supporter? Hardly.
In a March 25, 1968, speech to the Rabbinical Assembly, Dr. King said: “peace for Israel means security, and we must stand with all our might to protect its right to exist, its territorial integrity. I see Israel as one of the great outposts of democracy in the world, and a marvelous example of what can be done, how desert land can be transformed into an oasis of brotherhood and democracy. Peace for Israel means security and that security must be a reality.”
Ten days later, on April 4, Dr. King was murdered while organizing support for striking sanitation workers in Memphis, TN.
In this highlight from Episode 24 of "Strange Bedfellows" I discuss the pro-Israel legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King with my friend on the other side of the conflict, Caleb Maupin -- a #communist who supports #Palestine -- who is also a great admirer of Dr. King.
Happy MLK Day! Let his legacy be an inspiration to find peace for all mankind, everywhere.

Were LBJ and Nixon Involved in the JFK Conspiracy?

Lori Spencer
In this “Best of Strange Bedfellows” highlight from Episode 22 (original air date: Nov. 25, 2023) we talked to #JFK historian Jim DiEugenio on the 60th anniversary of the #JFKAssassination.
James DiEugenio is the editor of KennedysAndKing.com, and the author of five books about the assassinations of the 1960s. He wrote the screenplay for Oliver Stone's "JFK Revisited" documentary series and is a co-author of the new book "Chokeholds: Proof There Was A Conspiracy in the JFK Assassination."
We delve into the theory posited by former #Nixon and #Trump advisor Roger Stone alleging that #Kennedy's own vice president, #LBJ, was part of the #conspiracy to murder JFK.
In his 2016 book "The Man Who Killed Kennedy," Stone makes his case against LBJ. Jim DiEugenio says Stone's book is ridden with factual errors and corrects them here.
Is Roger Stone running a clever ruse to distract the public from the involvement of his former employer, President Richard Nixon?
We'll look at the circumstantial evidence against both Lyndon Johnson and Nixon, and let you, the jury, decide if one or both men were guilty. Or perhaps you'll conclude that both former presidents have been falsely accused of involvement in the crime of the century.
This was my favorite "Strange Bedfellows" episode of 2023, and a perfect finale' to the year.
PROGRAMMING NOTE:We are taking the month of December off from “Strange Bedfellows” for some family time during the holidays. Every Saturday night this month we will rebroadcast highlights from some of our favorite episodes of 2023 as a year-in-review (and what a crazy year it has been). The Nazi Roots of Hamas

Lori Spencer
By now many people have heard of #Hamas, but very few know much about their history, genealogy, ideology, and aims.
In this highlight from Episode 20 of "Strange Bedfellows" I briefly lay out the historical background of the Palestinian liberation movement so that we may better understand of whom and what we are speaking when we say, “Hamas.” It begins with the Nazis.
Yes, the Nazis.
As the Führer hid in his bunker and prepared for his suicide, he penned his last political will and testament. His last written words were a plea to the world to continue to “resist mercilessly the poisoner of all nations, international Jewry,” a plea most thoroughly and systematically heeded by the Islamic Jihadists and one of their primary movements, Ḥarakat al-Muqāwamah al-ʾIslāmiyyah, the Islamic Resistance Movement known as Hamas.
To fully grasp the ideology that drives Hamas and the Palestinian liberation movement today, one must first understand the history that gave rise to it -- and specifically, Nazi collaborator Haj Amin al-Husseini, the tie that binds Hitler to Hamas.
As early as January 1941 al-Husseini was recruiting Bosnian Muslims to serve in the Waffen SS and in SS killing units. The largest of the Mufti’s Muslim killing units was the infamous 13th Handschar Division of 21,065 men.
That same year the Mufti took in his second cousin Yasser #Arafat as his protégé; he brought in a former Nazi commando officer to teach Arafat “the fine points of guerilla warfare.” Some scholars argue that “al-Husseini was himself most likely the true founder of the al-Fatah,… Arafat’s terror cell,… the nucleus of the PLO.” (currently the ruling authority in the West Bank.)
He joined the Muslim Brotherhood in 1957 and in 1973 established the Islamic Congress in #Gaza to expand the influence of the Brotherhood; in 1978 he was among the founders of the Islamic University of Gaza.
Yassin and his cohorts embraced the Nazis’ fundamental view that the Jews are “the dirtiest and meanest of all races, defiling the most sanctified and honored spot on earth,” making “no distinctions between Jews, Zionists, and Israelis.”
As in all ideologies driven by Jew hatred, from Hitler to Hamas, where the Jew is the enemy, #Judaism is the enemy.
Nazi ideology is alive and well today in parts of the Arab world, and especially in Gaza, where Hamas rules (for now).
In this highlight from Episode 20 of "Strange Bedfellows" (with guest Tyler McConnell), we give a brief history lesson of the Strangest Bedfellows of all time: the Nazis and the Arabs.
We'll even show you the most popular chain of clothing stores in Gaza City today: "Hitler 1" and "Hitler 2"-- where fashionable young Palestinian #fascists buy "Hitler Chic" apparel.

Why The Kennedys Remained Silent About the JFK/RFK Murders

Lori Spencer
In this “Best of Strange Bedfellows” highlight from Episode 22 (original air date: Nov. 25, 2023) we talked to #JFK historian Jim DiEugenio on the 60th anniversary of the #JFKAssassination.

He wrote the screenplay for Oliver Stone’s “JFK Revisited” documentary series and is a co-author of the new book “Chokeholds: Proof There Was A Conspiracy in the JFK Assassination.”
A viewer from Ontario asked Jim, “why has the #Kennedy family remained silent all these years about any possibility of a #conspiracy in the murders of President John F. Kennedy and his brother Robert F. Kennedy?”
We delve into that mystery, and talk about why 2024 presidential candidate #RFKJr reversed that trend when he became the first (and only) member of the #Kennedys to ask questions about what really happened to his father and his uncle.

JFK's Legacy of Peace

Lori Spencer
Whilevisiting Arlington National Cemeteryon Veterans Day, just a few weeks before his death, #JFK stood on the grounds of the Arlington House high on a hill above the national cemetery.
As he took in the sweeping views of the rolling green hills and fall foliage, his eyes continued across the Potomac River to the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument. He wistfully said that the views were so spectacularthat he “could stay here forever.”
After his death on November 22, 1963, his widow Jackie selected a plot just below #Arlington House. This established the site of the #Kennedy family graves and offered her late husband the forever view he requested.
The view from Kennedy's grave at Arlington National Cemetery.
President Kennedy often told those close to him that he wanted the words "he kept the peace" inscribed on his tombstone. Although those words do not adorn his grave marker today, we agree with Kennedy's self-assessment of his own contribution to history.
In this excerpt from Episode 21 of "Strange Bedfellows" I discuss Kennedy's Legacy of Peace with radio personality and author Bruce de Torres.
After many important reflections upon President Kennedy's life and death on the 60th anniversary of Dallas, perhaps his commitment to #peace is, above all else, what JFK should be best remembered for.
We will also talk about how JFK's nephew #RFKJr is running for president to continue his uncle's legacy of peace, as the world stands on the brink of #WWIII globally and civil war on the home front. Can Kennedy #HealTheDivide before it's too late?

What JFK Said About Palestine in 1939

RFK Jr. News Channel
In 1939, 22 year-old John F. #Kennedy, son of Ambassador Joseph P. Kennedy, wrote his father a long letter from Palestine.
In this remarkable 4-page document, the future president displays an astonishing ability to grasp this complex conflict that still haunts our world today.
I'll tell you what the letter said in my interview with Welsh Republic Podcast tonight at 9 P.M. Eastern.

How JFK Tried To End The Cold War in 1963

Lori Spencer
Our #JFK60 special coverage continues tonight at 9 PM Eastern with this encore presentation of our Maverick News interview with Kennedy Assassination historian James DiEugenio from October 22, 2022.
Be sure to join us live at 9 PM Saturday, November 25th, when Jim DiEugenio returns to the "Strange Bedfellows" podcast!
After the Cuban Missile Crisis, both President John F. #Kennedy and Soviet Premier Nikita #Khrushchev realized the #ColdWar was madness and tried to end it.
In 1963, the U.S. and the #USSR signed a Nuclear Test Ban Treaty that was the first giant step towards peace between the superpowers.
During the final months of his life, #JFK was also negotiating a truce with Cuban leader Fidel Castro through secret emissaries, and pulling U.S. advisors out of #Vietnam with an eye towards getting all American personnel out by 1965.
Kennedy's June 1963 "Peace Speech" at American University in Washington, D.C. outlined his vision for a peaceful coexistence with the #SovietUnion, and communist countries around the globe.
As historian Jim DiEugenio (screenplay writer for Oliver Stone's documentary "JFK Revisited" and author of the accompanying book) explains here, Kennedy and Khrushchev nearly ended the Cold War a quarter century before President Reagan did. Their efforts resulted in both leaders being removed from power by warmongering forces within their own governments.

Oliver Stone's "JFK Revisited": Interview with Screenwriter James DiEugenio

Lori Spencer
* We look forward to having Jim DiEugenio back on the Maverick News Network to mark the 60th anniversary. Jim returns to "Strange Bedfellows" November 25th! Join us live at 9 PM Eastern. (Set a notification here.)
Award-winning Director Oliver Stone's dramatic film "#JFK" set off a firestorm of controversy when it debuted in 1992. Public outrage over the film forced Congress to pass the JFK Records Act that year, which resulted in the release of millions of documents previously kept secret by the U.S. government.
60 years after the #JFKAssassination, Oliver Stone and screenwriter/author James DiEugenio have made the penultimate documentary about the JFK Assassination; the culmination of three decades of research into those long-secret declassified files.
"JFK Revisited" is the two-hour version of Stone's documentary film. "JFK: Destiny Betrayed -- Through the Looking Glass" is a four-hour tour-de-force packed with interviews and new information that has only recently come to light. (The film is available in four hourlong episodes, on DVD, and also in book format.)
As part of Maverick News' #JFK60 special programming this month, we unearthed our October 2022 interview with "JFK Revisited" screenplay writer and author Jim DiEugenio.
We dive deep into the new evidence that leads to a conclusion of conspiracy in the murder of President #Kennedy on Nov. 22, 1963.
Jim and Oliver respond to critical attacks on Oliver's films about JFK, and we detail how the mainstream media continues to cover-up the truth of the assassination even to the present day, 60 years after the crime of the century.

The Red Scare, MK-ULTRA, and Anti-Communist Brainwashing

Lori Spencer
In this excerpt from Episode 15 of "Strange Bedfellows," I talked to Caleb Maupin: author, reporter for RT television (#Russia), #communist historian, political activist, and founder of the Center for Political Innovation (CPI).
We go back in time to revisit the Red Scare of the 1950's, Sen. Joseph McCarthy's witch hunts, the CIA's MK-ULTRA mind control program, and anti-communist brainwashing; how we did it, and most importantly, WHY we did it.
Using propaganda and brainwashing techniques we learned from Nazi scientists who were imported into the United States after World War Two, the U.S. and our Western allies joined with the #Nazis in their long crusade against #communism.
Are we the baddies?
And why are we doing this again, 30 years after the Cold War supposedly ended?
Now that we are in Red Scare 3.0, we see many of the old anti-communist tropes coming back into use again, employed by our governments, politicians, the press, and on social media to brainwash Americans en masse into supporting World War Three with #Russia, #China, #NorthKorea, and other socialist nations around the world.
Maupin says "social media is the most sophisticated mind control mechanism ever invented," and explains how it works to incite people against each other.
How do we undo 75 years of mass brainwashing of an unwitting, unsuspecting populace?

Caleb Maupin's Letter to Bob Avakian

Lori Spencer
In this highlight from Episode 15 of "Strange Bedfellows" I talked with Caleb Maupin about his latest book,“Letter to Bob Avakian.”
The book is an open letter to Avakian in which Maupin both praises and critiques the leader of a small #communist sect in the United States. He also reveals some information that explains the organization’s strange activities over the years and ties to French intelligence.
We also delved into infiltration of #socialist and communist groups by the FBI during the Cold War, including Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) and the Communist Party of the United States (CPUSA).
Caleb Maupin is an author, reporter for RT television (#Russia), historian, political activist, and founder of the Center for Political Innovation (CPI).

Yaroslav Hunka's Mein Kampf (with George Galloway)

Lori Spencer
Yaroslav Hunka, the 98 year-old Ukrainian Nazi who was honored by the Canadian Parliament and Ukrainian President #Zelensky with not one, but two standing ovations last week, published his manifesto online back in 2011.
This is Hunka's Mein Kampf -- the story of his struggle against the #communists; the evil Red Russians; the detested Poles, and his Jewish neighbors in #Ukraine.
I discovered Hunka's memoir of his youthful years learning how to kill from his heroes in the notorious UPA, Stepan #Bandera's OUN-B, welcoming the German #Nazis "with joy" when they occupied his village in 1941, and his pride in joining the #Waffen-SS, #Galicia Division.
On this edition of #No2NATONo2War with George Galloway, I read some shocking excerpts from Hunka's memoir aloud.

History of Ukrainian Nationalism: Russian U.N. Ambassador Dmitry Polyanskiy Interview, Part 2

Lori Spencer
In part 2 of our interview with Dmitry Polyanskiy, First Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations for the Russian Federation, we take a deep dive into the history of Ukrainian nationalism -- the roots of the current conflict between #Ukraine and #Russia.
Ambassador Polyanskiy explains that the #UkraineWar didn't start in 2022, or even in 2014. It started hundreds of years ago.
Polyanskiy details the FULL story of how the Ukrainian nationalists came to collaborate with #Nazi Germany before #WWII -- an incredible story you've probably never heard before.
He outlines the 10 core principals of Ukrainian nationalism: what they believe, why they consider Russians their enemy, and the deep #Russophobia that led them to slaughter tens of thousands of Russians during #WWI and the Russian Civil War period of 1919-21.
The ethnic cleansing of #communists following the #Bolshevik Revolution of 1917, Jews, Hungarians, and Poles was again repeated during the #Holocaust of #WWII by the #NazisInUkraine.
The Ukrainian nationalists were the original #Nazis, years before there was a Nazi Party in Germany; long before anyone ever heard of Adolf #Hitler. "Ukrainians were some of the first promoters of this racial theory," Polyanskiy explains. "It just so happened that the Germans were thinking along the same lines at the same time, and had the same enemies. So they were destined to be natural allies."
Their slogan was -- and still is -- "Ukraine for Ukrainians," enforced by strict racial purity laws (which still exist in Ukraine), eugenics, and enforced careful breeding to create their own "master race." All other inferior races must be exterminated.
Ambassador Polyanskiy explains how Nazi war criminal Stepan #Bandera became known as a national hero in today's Ukraine, and his work for Western intelligence services (Britain's MI6 and the CIA) after World War II and during the Cold War.
"Many Westerners do not understand this history," #Polyanskiy says. "But it is vital to our understanding of where we are today, and why this conflict is happening now."
Watch part 2 of this incredibly interesting interview below.
Part 3 premiers Friday, September 8. (See all interviews with Ambassador Polyanskiy in my Dmitry Polyanskiy playlist on YouTube.)

Lori Spencer on the Kim Iversen Show: The CIA's Long History With Nazis in Ukraine

Lori Spencer
A trove of official CIA documents declassified in 1998 under the Nazi War Crimes Disclosure Act reveal the Agency’s close ties to Nazi war criminals in #Ukraine, including the notorious “hero of Ukraine” Stepan #Bandera and his second-in-command, Mykola Lebed (personally recruited into the CIA by Allen Dulles), among others in the OUN-B and UPA.
Thousands of documents detail how the CIA armed, funded, trained, and used Ukranian nationalist insurgents to do anti-communist propaganda campaigns, wage guerilla war, and commit acts of terrorism against the Soviet Union during the Cold War from 1947-1991.
I visited the Kim Iversen Show to talk about this incredible story which has been quietly buried in the National Archives for more than 20 years — and most importantly, to discuss the implications of America’s support of Ukraine in the current war with #Russia.

The Death of Joseph Stalin

Lori Spencer
2023 marks 70 years since the death of Soviet leader Joseph #Stalin, who remains controversial to this day. (His suspicious demise is still the great #JFK Conspiracy Theory in #Russia today.)
After his sudden passing in March 1953, Stalin's body was put on display at the Hall of Columns in theHouse of the Unions, remaining there for three days, while more than five million mourners came to pay their respects. (By contrast, about 250,000 Americans passed by the coffin of President John F. Kennedy after his assassination a decade later.)
The crowds were so tremendous that hundreds of people were trampled and crushed to death. His successor, Nikita #Khrushchev later provided an estimate that 109 people died in the crowd, although the real number of deaths may have been in the thousands.

The CIA Was Formed For ONE Reason in 1947

Lori Spencer
On a recent episode of the Jay Scott Ascension podcast, I gave a brief history of why the #CIA was formed 75 years ago: to fight #communism and specifically, Soviet #Russia.
This is why the Agency formed dangerous alliances with #NazisInUkraine, Islamic terrorists in #Afghanistan, anti-#Castro #Cubans, and so-called "freedom fighters" in #Asia during the #ColdWar to supposedly stop "the domino effect" of communism's spread around the world.
In the 30 years since the end of the #ColdWar, the CIA has invented new enemies; new threats to justify its continued existence and unlimited budget.
We ask "should this Agency even exist in the 21st Century?" -- and what can the next president do to halt the abuses of the CIA? Can it be reformed? Should it be entirely abolished?

Scott Ritter on OPERATION UNTHINKABLE

Lori Spencer
In April 1945 — before the surrender of Nazi Germany; before WW II had ended — Winston Churchill had an idea: why not team up with the Nazis and build an army to invade Britain’s ally, the Soviet Union?
Churchill instructed his Joint Planning Military Staff to draft an invasion plan. Imagine how this strategic meeting went:
“Yes, splendid. We shall invade the country who just saved our butts from the Nazis, using Nazi POW soldiers, and recruit the Americans to lend a hand! Better yet, let’s convince the Americans to drop that new super-duper bomb on the Russians! I mean, they have to try it out somewhere, let’s nuke a few Soviet cities!”
No one dared tell him this was a REALLY BAD IDEA. No one dared say, “but Winston, the Soviets are our ALLIES.”
Instead, they returned with an invasion plan called OPERATION UNTHINKABLE (Because it WAS “unthinkable” to stab one’s ally in the back), and it was approved by Prime Minister Winston Churchill on May 22, 1945 — just two weeks after V-E Day.
The stated object was “to impose upon Russia the will of the United States and British Empire. The goal was “the elimination of Russia” as a country.
Churchill’s military brass reported that despite the Red Army’s crushing defeat of the Nazi war machine, beating the Russians in battle would be easy-peasy for the British and Americans if they turned against their ally. “A quick success might induce the Russians to submit to our will at least for the time being; but it might not. That is for the Russians to decide. If they want total war, they are in a position to have it.”
Wait…what? TOTAL WAR? Didn’t we just finish a World War that devastated most of Europe and still haven’t finished that war in the Pacific yet?
Now that #FDR was dead (President Franklin #Roosevelt had died on April 12), there was no one to tell #Churchill NO, we are NOT going to invade and nuke the Soviet Union.
The new President Harry #Truman and some of his top generals gave the plan serious consideration, although General Dwight #Eisenhower thought it madness.
OPERATION UNTHINKABLE was so secret the documents were not released to the public until 1998.
We asked Scott Ritter, former USMC and Chief UN Weapons Inspector in Iraq and post-Soviet #Russia if he’d ever heard of OPERATION UNTHINKABLE. His answer just might surprise you!

OPERATION UNTHINKABLE: Winston Churchill's INSANE Plan to Start WW III in 1945

Lori Spencer
It sounds too crazy to be true, but it is.
Before the surrender of Nazi Germany; before WW II had ended, Winston #Churchill had an idea one night while deep in his cups: why not team up with the #Nazis and build an army to invade Britain’s ally, the Soviet Union?
Churchill instructed his Joint Planning Military Staff to draft an invasion plan. Imagine how this strategic meeting went:
“Yes, splendid. We shall invade the country who just saved our arses from the Nazis, using Nazi soldiers, and recruit the Americans to lend a hand!
No matter, Churchill thought. The only thing that could possibly matter now is Russia…Russia…#Russia….WE MUST DESTROY RUSSIA, he mumbled drunkenly — the obsession with destroying Russia consumed him day and night. He planned to recruit the Americans to help him live out his fantasies — as soon as he sobered up.
Now that #FDR was dead (President Franklin #Roosevelt had died on April 12), there was no one to tell Churchill NO, we are NOT going to invade and nuke the #SovietUnion. The new President Harry Truman and some of his top generals gave the plan serious consideration, although General Dwight #Eisenhower thought it madness.
So, what happened to OPERATION UNTHINKABLE? Why was the plan scrapped? Watch and find out! You won’t believe how close we came to WW III starting immediately after WW II.
OPERATION UNTHINKABLE was so secret the documents were not released to the public until 1999.

Ukrainian Nazi Stepan Bandera Had a CIA Code Name

Lori Spencer
According to documents declassified under the 1998 #Nazi War Crimes Disclosure Act, Stepan #Bandera -- a notorious Ukrainian war criminal -- was a CIA asset with the cryptonym CASSOWARY1.
Bandera's associates all had CASSOWARY code names, all were CIA assets.
In this excerpt from a recent interview with Welsh Republic podcast, I explain how the United States and British intelligence protected the #NazisInUkraine from prosecution at #Nuremberg after #WWII and hired them as spies against #Russia during the #ColdWar.
The origins of the current war in #Ukraine can be found in these thousands of pages of documents that were kept secret for over 50 years.

"Germany Lost WW II But the Nazis Won"

Lori Spencer
As the late great George Carlin correctly observed: "Germany lost the Second World War, but the #Fascists won it. Believe me, my friend."
On this episode of Maverick News, we take a look at a Swastika-shaped building on a U.S. Military base that's been there for over half a century.
The resemblance went unnoticed, by the public at least, for decades, until Google Earth appeared and shed light on the very distinct shape of a barracks at Naval Base #Coronado near San Diego.(the former Naval Air Station perhaps best known for location filming of the "Top Gun" movie.)
Designed in 1967 by architect John Mock, the barracks on the shore of the #SanDiego Bay are technically four structures — buildings 320, 321, 322, and 323 on the Naval Amphibious Base Coronado. In the center of the four L-shaped buildings are two smaller structures, a boiler room and recreational hut.
The likeness to a swastika is undeniable, right down to the fact that the symbol is rotated 45 degrees off north, the exact way the #Nazi party displayed the symbol after appropriating it from Buddhism and other eastern philosophies, in which for centuries it was a symbol of good luck.
In 2006, after numerous complaints from the public after this swastika-shaped building was discovered, a Navy public affairs officer explained away the building's design as a "mistake".
"The final 'look' of the six building complex as seen from the air, was the result of an 'oversight' by Navy planners at the time," the #Navy's Steve Fiebing wrote ina letter to the press. Notably, the word "oversight" is placed in single quotation marks in his response.
An investigation by Israeli American researcher Avrahaum Segol in 2007, however, told a different story. Segolfound documentation that the four-L swastika-like design was indeed known to the Navy and signed off by them before construction. An article published inthe San Diego Union in October 1968, before ground was broken, stated that the four-L structure was to be built, contradicting the Navy's claim that only one "L" was planned.
"Information in the San Diego Union article makes picture clear that a perspective rendered by Architect Firm of Hendrick and Mock displayed 'layout of four L-shaped buildings' proving a ... Swastika to be visually recognizable at all times." Segol wrote in a letter to the Navy in 2007, in which he pleaded that the building be restructured or torn down.
After further protest from the Anti-Defamation League in San Diego, the Navy agreed to spend $600,000 of their 2008 budget on "camouflaging" the building to change its appearance from the air.The New York Timesreported at the time that the Navy admitted the swastika likeness was known as far back as the '60s but had chosen not to do anything about it.
“There was no reason to redo the buildings because they were in use,” a spokeswoman for the base, Angelic Dolan, told the paper. Dolan pointed out that no planes fly over the navy base, so until Google Earth came along the shape wasn't considered an issue.
“You have to realize back in the ’60s we did not have the internet,” she said. “We don’t want to offend anyone, and we don’t want to be associated with the symbol.”
That promised fix did not happen in 2008, or ever.
In 2010, the Navysent a letter to Segolwith plans to make the structure a square, and included blueprints on what the finished work would look like, with four new wing additions. That also never happened, though a $14 million dollar interior renovation project was completed on three of the four buildings in 2015, but the controversial exterior shape stayed the same.
Somehave arguedthat as the troubling symbol is only visible from above, and no drones or aircraft are permitted to fly in the area, then simply removing or blurring the overhead shot from Google Maps and other mapping sites would be a sufficient fix — something that occurs on other sensitive military bases across the worldfor various reasons.
While it may seem like an architectural idiosyncrasy, to many the fact that the symbol of white supremacy sits at the center of the U.S. Navy's base is nothing less than a hate crime, still clearly visible from the skies today.
The U.S. government loves to virtue-signal about #Nazism, and pretend to be anti-#racism while openly attacking and demonizing their opposition as racist #Nazis -- the #MAGA movement, #Trump supporters, the #January6 riots, the Canadian #FreedomConvoy of truckers.
Who are the REAL Nazis? We explore that question tonight on the show.

Next week will mark the 60th anniversary of the #JFK Assassination.
Almost 60 years after President #Kennedy's slaying in Dallas, does anyone still care about what happened to JFK?
In this excerpt from our Maverick News interview with Jim DiEugenio (author of the screenplay for Oliver Stone's new documentary film "JFK Revisited" and the accompanying book), we explore why JFK's popularity endures, the curiosity we still have about his murder, and why it still matters.
