Even if we are persecuted, what should we do that was taught in the Scriptures?

Even if we are persecuted, what should we do that was taught in the Scriptures? And why should we abide by what is written in the Scriptures?

For example, you are being persecuted, someone said evil things to you, what should we do and why should we do what the Scriptures taught us?

Luke 6: 22-23,
22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.

23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

What shoud we do, my brothers and sisters, when we are hated? Who is hated because of the Name of the Lord? Rejoice when you are persecuted!
