There are 2 keys to growing a big back: back thickness and back width. Rows work thickness and pulldowns work width, make sure you do a combination of both in your workouts. The greatest and most foundational exercise for a growing a big back will always be the deadlift. I start every back workout with heavy deadlifts and then I do my accessory movements such as barbell rows, weighted pull ups and one-arm rows. Building a big back is very simple, master the fundamentals and train with a high level of intensity. Love the process of getting better everyday. Love the hunt more than you love the feast.
