Sitting Is A Problem For Lower Back Injuries
When we sit we flatten the lumbar lordosis and stretch out the ligaments and muscles in your spine. These movements focus particularly on the L4-5 and L5-S1 segments of the lumbar spine.
It's important to note that sitting down might be uncomfortable or even painful when you're dealing with lower back injuries - but this is a good thing! It's your body telling you that compressing discs and stretching structures at the back of your spine are aggravating your injury. And that its time to change position.
