Chris and I are working full blast in the sugar shack. And I am making a panel meter for my charge accelerator. Read the full article here: http://www.thedoityourselfworld.com/articles/article.php?id=11426

We tapped the trees early this year so we got a jump start on processing maple syrup. Although it was mostly cold so far we did have some better days of maple sap flow.

We get between 70 and 140 gallons of raw maple sap on a good day of flow.

You need nights below freezing and days above freezing for the sap to flow. The sun improves it even more. We had few of these days but we have gathered a considerable amount of sap so far.

I have filled all the pails and containers that I have available.

We have about three gallons of pure homemade maple syrup done so far. We are not going to be able to sell this stuff though because its not filtered well enough.

And to sell maple syrup in New York as grade A for retail sale it has to be lighter in color than what we have produced. But for us this will last us a year which is fine.

We are going to get a better filter to use for retail maple syrup production and then we will be able to sell the syrup.

We will also have to closely monitor the final boil to get the perfect color and clarity for retail sale.

I am making a beautiful panel meter for the Quanta Q3 generator in my off grid wood shop. I am using acrylic which will make it look very nice. I think this is my best machine work ever. It is really looking good.

I ordered three more meters to complete the display and will buy more banana plugs later as well.
