Back in the early-mid 1980’s, when I was studying criminal justice and government and politics at the university of Maryland, college park, just outside of Washington D.C., i was walking back from class with one of my professors, who was also an active criminal attorney. We started discussing the death penalty, and he said this to me. “Steven, the American people are at a crossroads, and they have to decide if the want to embrace or reject the death penalty”. I clearly remember the fear of losing the death penalty, for the simple reason at that point in my life-of the thought of creating massive storage buildings of people who have committed murder. My fear at that time was that once those facilities filled up, that the countries tolerance, government budgets, and liberal philosophy would begin to release many if not most of these murderers back into society. It turns out-my fears were spot on. This is PT1 of a Two-Part Series. Reach down and SMASH that SUBSCRIBE button and ALERT BELL!
