What (more reasonable) Western Analysts Say Comes Next for Ukraine
Some Western analysts have been providing a more accurate picture of the conflict in Ukraine than the general barrage of Western war propaganda. They seem to agree that:
- There is no path for Ukraine to win militarily;
- Russia is nowhere near as incompetent and ill-prepared as the Western media suggests;
- Russia is not seizing territory because it is waging a war of attrition;
- Ukrainian territorial gains may have appeared “spectacular” but came at the cost of huge losses in men and equipment;
- Russia is bolstering both its manpower and defensive positions;
- The loss of Kharkov and Kherson city has actually left Russia in a more advantageous position, more troops on a shorter line of contact;
- Russian forces fighting in Bakhmut seek to grind Ukrainian forces down, not capture the city from them.

Now that America and the globalists has been pushed out of hot spots that they ignited and are about to be pushed out of Syria and Ukraine I guess they will head down to the pacific and start trouble here,I wish people would wake up to what is going on,my country as sure as hell does not need their brand of "freedom"!!!

yes, they will move on to China and then continue to fund terrorists in the middle east, they need to get in the Saudi's good books again to sell them weapons and get their oil. They will want to make the BRICS nations suffer for sh!tcanning the US$ as the main currency

Russia could just keep pounding till everybody leaves, even give free bus rides like the green buses in Syria. After everyone has left, shut the gates. De-Natzied, De-Militaried, & Done.

I suspect the two Western journos you describe have been following The New Atlas recently and perhaps the Duran guys. Thus their partial copping on.

I believe we’re seeing the beginning of the end of the Ukrainian army. An interesting bit on the Military Summary Channel two days ago about a Ukrainian battalion ordered to retreat in Soledar and ordered not to tell other units defending the city. This led to the collapse of the defense and fighting in the city center. Quite unexpected ! I believe that was a mutiny by the command. If the command is losing all hope and is willing to mutiny then things are dire. This type of mutiny has a high potential to spread. Commanders begin to distrust each other and that will trickle down to the men. Soon rumors spread and the fighting ability of the army disappears. Not sure of the truth but it was expected to take weeks to take Soledar not hours.

Eyes in Poland...as mobilization and battalion formation proceeds. Poland is going to be Ukraine 2 as Gerasimov became today chief of everything in Russia and Russia is out of the SMO and in to proper war against everyone !

Time after time, I have heard this sing song, How long is this Ukraine conflict going to take? It is a silly question but it manages to cover what is really meant, why are all of us in the West in the middle of this insanity? I can answer this question on a couple of levels. There are invisible puppet masters out of sight providing the money & the msm narrative that captures the willing. Fortunately, they will become irrelevant because no human truly controls all that much. The true answer to this state of anxiety is that we all have to grow into more responsible places of involvement in this game of life. Keep your head low so you don't get sucked into sucker conflicts. If you are Spec Ops, you listen to your commander. If you are civilian, you get real & do what your conscience dictates. We all listen to our own call to action, we just need to be more aware. Sandy Rinaldi, Arkansas, US Army veteran 1971 to 1974, today 11 JAN 23

I had a problem with two points. Brian seems to be saying casualties in the Wagner group are not worth worrying about, since they are convicts or otherwise marginal. Wagner is equipped, commanded and relied on by Russia. It may be more of a shock troop, serving analogously to the French Foreign Legion. A sustained high casualty rate in the Wagner group would not only deprive Russia of a very capable fighting force, but would indicate a systemic problem in Russian tactics. Hopefully, the Russian military command would not ignore a systemic problem simply because it was affecting only the Wagner group. A second point is Brian's assertion that Ukraine is being limited by military manpower shortages. Ukraine is not necessarily limited by the Ukraine population. A Newsmax interview indicates that Ukraine is flooded with foreign volunteers and has no manpower problem. https://www.newsmax.com/world/globaltalk/ukraine-russia-war/2023/01/08/id/1103504/ I have no clue as to whether the claim is true or propaganda. But the manpower issue for Ukraine should not be taken for granted.

Well obviously if the man power is not Ukrainian then ukraine has been defeated already

As long as there is an organized army hostile to Russia in Ukraine, the danger is still there, whether manned by Ukrainians or foreign adventurers. A Ukrainian defeat would signal that Russia could freely occupy Ukraine and dictate the government, which it can't.

Wouldn't it be better russia dictating what happens in ukraine than america?

"Wouldn't it be better russia dictating what happens in ukraine than america?" I wasn't making a value judgement. I was commenting on the assertion that Ukraine is running out of manpower for the military. If Ukraine has no problem restocking its military, then it obviously makes it more difficult for Russia to win. This is the case whether I support Russia or support Ukraine.
