James 1:19 (Good News Bible): Remember this, my dear brothers and sisters! Everyone must be quick to listen, but slow to speak and slow to become angry.

I have a hunch that it is impossible to overemphasize the immense need of human beings to really be listened to. So, if you desire to improve your relationships, you must learn to improve hearing.
