Merdeka 118

Costing: 1.7 billion dollars

Located in: Kuala Lumpur (Mayalsia)

The construction on this 679-meter-tall skyscraper became the world's second tallest tower. The building is the most recognisable symbol of Malaysian independence and it's style is cool. Merdeka means “independence,” Furthermore, it's significant to the people of Malaysia as they gained their independence from Britain in 1957.

The architecture of the building is specially designed to resemble first Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman’s stature as he proclaimed the country’s independence. In this picture, take note of the posture of Prime Minister Rahman and the shape of the current Merdeka skyscraper. With inspiring architecture and state-of-the-art engineering, these places are nothing short of amazing.

The Merdeka 118 is only behind the Burj Khalifa in claiming to be the tallest building in the world. Naturally, with 118 floors included in its name and implies how high it truly is. This building has construction scheduled to wrap up in 2022 and will be a sight to see! It’s so tall that it will be the tallest building in Southeast Asia more than 30 floors taller than the famous Petronas Twin towers.
