Justin Trudeau's invocation of the Emergencies Act to crack down on Freedom Convoy protesters has been widely condemned by civil liberties groups on the left and the right. This month, hearings into the commission investigating the federal government's "public order emergency" declaration begin, meaning Canadians will hear testimony from government officials, members of law enforcement, and key figures in the convoy, among others.
