Have you ever heard the saying that the way you do one thing is the way you do everything? Read to the end to find out how to get better with every training movement without needing to train!

Regardless of Tool used the deadlift is a staple exercise for anyone that has the active mobility to train it.

For Performance training it becomes the staple exercise to improve Posterior Chain strength.

Posterior chain development is fundamental to all ATHLETES and INDIVIDUALS health, performance and longevity.

For ATHLETES: The Anterior Chain can only contract as HARD as the posterior chain can hold tension in Its lengthened position. There for all ‘pressing’ movement development should come secondary to ‘pulling’ movement development to ensure longevity and proper progression.

For INDIVIDUALS: The posterior chain is being distorted and compromised every second you spend In a chair. For every second you spend in this position you posterior strength (and by consequence of its role as the body’s limiter to anterior function) weakens by the position not requiring any posterior tension in the legs.

What can really accelerate this distortion is that there can still remain tension from the waist up. But even with the back full ‘supported’ we are convincing the nervous system that posterior development is non-essential (in this moment why need it if we have cool comfy chair?)

Distortions in passive posture tension from chronic exposure of a compromised positions like this, in or out of training, compete with proper posture to what is the default posture.

What side is winning for you? Are you aware of your posture outside of training? It could just be the FASTEST way to make NEW GAINS.

If you need help with your posture be sure to book a consultation and assessment with a coach whose eyes have be trained to decode movement pattern sequencing and default posture settings from the brain.
