This week on Sunday Longplay, I'm exploring a 2004 Super Mario Bros. fangame that was recently remade as a Super Mario World ROM hack. Welcome to Mario Forever!

This PC fangame was made in 2004 by a small two-person company named Buziol Games. It was a neat little game, with many secrets to uncover in addition to the normal 8-world Mario formula. However, it has also been known to contain malware which would often cause antivirus programs to block it.

The game was recently remade in 2021 as a ROM hack of Super Mario World which keeps most of the pre-4.0 secrets intact and also adds a unified world map (as opposed to the individual world maps the PC game had), as well as adding an extra secret in the form of World 9, which is different from Syzxchulun's World 9 that was added in version 6.0 of the PC game, with an epic boss battle at the end of it!
