Senior Pakistani Journalist Ayaz Amir attacked by unidentified assailants

A senior Pakistani journalist Ayaz Amir was attacked by 4 to 6 unidentified assailants on 1st July in Lahore. Ayaz Amir's car was intercepted by a vehicle on Abbot Road soon after he left a private TV channel building after recording his TV show.

The assailants immediately after stopping Ayaz Amir, unleashed violent blows on his face and dragged him out of his car. His driver was also manhandled. The attackers took away journalist's mobile phone and wallet. The incident has sparked lot of outrage among the public.

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has strongly condemned violence against the journalist. Ayaz Amir is a former member of National Assembly and a retired military officer. Just a day earlier, Amir delivered a speech in Regime Change Seminar that was also attended by Imran Khan.
