we've made Amber Fire chicken, a dish that's not that well known in many place, but I really feel like it should be, this version is based on the recipe found in our second cookbook (Part:Duex yes its spelt wrong, was originally a mistake but people found it funny so I kept it), which is now a in stock on our webstore which I'll link below. This dish is a personal favourite of mine, its like a Kung Po chicken but I'd say less sour, with a deeper earthy flavour, the cookbook version is deep fried but the version here is much quicker, takes 20 minutes from start to finish, a dish that is worth giving a go. And yes the Part:Duex is a reference to the 1990 movie Hot Shots. Hello! today Ziangs food workshop are here to show you how to cook a traditional Chinese dish at home, this is the best recipe for lion head meatballs known as 狮子头 shīzitóu. There are many lion head meatball recipes out there but we feel this version has far more texture, tenderness and way more flavour. We will show you step by step how to make the mince for the meatballs, how to make them and how to finish them off and create a wonderful Chinese sauce that goes well on noodles and rice. The trick to making these the best meatballs is to make them big, the size of a small orange is perfect. The best Chinese recipes are always the ones that you like the most, cooking is subjective and that is the most important thing when you're cooking. Most recipe cook the veg with the meatballs in the sauce, but we feel that it over cooks the veg, we simply blanched our pak choi in boiling water for 50 seconds and then placed into ice cold water to stop the cooking. When ready we just drained them and lay them out in the bowl, the hot sauce for the meat balls will warm the veg through. Today on Ziangs Food work shop, Chin and Choo have designed a recipe to be cost effective during this cost of living crisis, which has given us the idea on how to make Chinese Takeaway and Chinese traditional food at home on a very tight budget. This spring roll recipe will make 22-23 good sized meat rolls and everyone like crispy spring rolls, so we thought this would be a good one to start the cheap eats series with. Chinese takeaway it self can be expensive to learn how to cook, in terms of having to invest in new ingredients and pantry items, we plan to show you how to do them all on a budget, using most items people have already in there kitchen cupboards. This recipe for air fryer crispy meat spring rolls is so easy and only cost 18p per rolls! The soy sauce dip to go with it is amazing too. The two recipes are a must try. We will walk you through how to make the pork mince mix, how to roll the springs rolls and how to finish them in the air fryer. These will freeze too so you can batch make them and fry when ever you want.
