Enter Noodle Heaven | Szechuan, China
Noodles in Szechuan are a staple food that can be enjoyed on almost every street. Come for a taste with me at a famous noodle joint here in Chengdu.
Please like: https://www.facebook.com/Foodrangin
Here in Chengdu, I found this local noodle joint that serves up some really specific and unique noodles. The menu was on the wall and you just choose what you want and pay for them upfront.
I ordered 3 bowls:
1) The house minced pork noodles which were full of bean paste, sesame, chilies, and of course the freshest hot boiled noodles cooked to perfection. They had a strong sesame flavour which was really nice!
2) The specialty classic beef noodle soup, the 特使红烧牛肉面. It was a little spicy because this is Szechuan and wow it was nice!
3) The minced beef with red/green pepper noodles. These were SPICY, really SPICY! They were painfully enjoyable. Each bite got hotter and hotter and by the end of the bowl I was so happy but also in a lot of pain, and they also turned out to be my favourite in the end, winning over the sesame flavoured noodles.
4) I also ordered a bowl of steamed egg custard, and the fenzhengrou (Steamed spicy pork in rice flour) which were both really nice, the steamed egg custard was particularly smooth and enjoyable.
Overall this restaurant was a perfect representation of some of the noodles you can find in Szechuan. Although I did not have any DanDan noodles (担担面), I can say that this meal is a perfect introduction to Chinese food and Chinese noodles in general. Spicy, strong hints of bean paste, cilantro, sesame, just beautiful flavours!

Eating Home Cooked Szechuan Food in Chengdu
Family gatherings are a great time to eat delicious food, and I was lucky enough to be able to taste home cooked Szechuan food at a friend's birthday party in Chengdu.
Please like https://www.facebook.com/foodrangin
If you're in Szechuan province, whether Chengdu or Chongqing, or any small town, there is a lot of food you have to try. There are so many dishes, but one of my favourite dishes that I love eating is the Szechuan spicy boiled fish (水煮鱼). It is just so delicious and spicy and numbing that it's so hard to resist!
Out of all the dishes (Szechuan spicy boiled fish, chicken feet, sweet and sour cabbage, devils taro spicy duck, Bangbangji, and Beijing duck) the Szechuan spicy boiled fish was the best! This episode was a lot of fun to make because it was different from the usual eating food on the street type video that I make (not that I don't love eating on the street!)

Chengdu, What To Do? Fun At People's Park!
Chengdu is famous for its tea culture, and People's Park is THE place to come for an introduction. You can watch people dancing, and also watch a lot of classic Chinese activities! Watch the vid to find out! Please like: https://www.facebook.com/Foodrangin
People's park is found directly in the centre of Chengdu, and is a famous park for it's lively dance square in the centre of the park, where hundreds of people gather to exercise and have fun. Mostly middle aged/elders come to this park, so it's an awesome place to get a feel for traditional Chinese activities.
People come here to dance, play majiang, play cards, sing karaoke, watch kung fu tea pouring ceremonies, watch dance shows, practice their calligraphy on the sidewalk with water brushes, drink tea, and most of all, relax.
With all these activities to participate in and watch, this park definitely stands out in Chengdu as one of the most lively and exciting parks to visit. This is NOT A quiet park, so if you come, make sure to come here for FUN! If you're looking for a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of Chengdu, you can find it in this park in certain corners, but for the most part, it is very loud here!

The Best Food in the World | BEST Seafood FEAST in Thailand! Try Native Thai Cooking
If you like to eat and travel, watch this for a really special edition of The Food Ranger, where I ate what is without a doubt some of the best food in the world, and ate one of the best meals of my life.
Join me on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/foodrangin
Thai food is a world in its own, and I managed to chow down on some really epic meals in my short stay in Bangkok. If you come to Bangkok, you'll need at least a week to have a complete culinary experience.
Restaurants featured:
Boat Noodle Alley-you gotta go to the one with the workers wearing pink. Very easy to find. Exit victory monument BTS and follow the walkway north. Walk halfway around the victory monument, and take the walkway to the right, before it crosses the main road. Go down the stairs and then turn around, take the next left, and you will find the boat noodle alley with all the boat noodle restaurants.
T&K Seafood-Yaowarat, Chinatown
This one is also very easy to find, it's right on the main street in Chinatown, and is usually the restaurant with the longest lineup. You can't miss it if you walk through.

Eating Classic Szechuan Food on the Streetside in Chengdu
Chengdu's food is definitely unique. Always spicy and numbing and sometimes cleaner than others. Enjoy a classic Szechuan meal here! Please like my facebook page:
https://www.facebook.com/Foodrangin
This food at this location was very unique and eating here felt like eating in old China. I personally found the food here to be so-so, not too special, but not too repulsive (except for the intestine, it was really horrible, actually tasted like crap!). I'm more of a fan of the noodles, hotpot, and 小吃 "small snacks" here in Chengdu, but loved trying everything! Thanks again for watching my food and travel videos. The food in Szechuan really is awesome!

Chinese Sichuan "Mac and Cheese" Pea Noodles
I found the BEST pea noodles in Chengdu! Surprisingly, they taste a bit like mac and cheese! (A spicy version with better tasting noodles and more ingredients) I'm in love with Sichuan cuisine!
LIKE on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Foodrangin
Sichuan cuisine is in my opinion, China's best cuisine. Chinese food is often grouped into 8 different groups, and Sichuan cuisine is often ranked at #1, for good reason!
These noodles were so creamy and spicy and just melted in my mouth. The 豌豆杂酱面 "wandou zajiang mian" gets its delicious flavour from the yellow peas (the "wandou") which are creamy and almost tasted cheesy, and also from the "jiang" sauce. (which is often referrred to as the soul of Sichuan cuisine).
The amount of "food rangin" to do in China is unbelievable, and in Chengdu it's non-stop! Theres just so much to eat!
The "jiang" sauce used in this video was really delicious and is made from fermented broad beans, soybeans, salt, rice, chilies, and a little sugar. It is mixed with pork and served on top of the noodles. WOW! So delicious! Not to mention the ground Sichuan peppercorn and sesame seeds, chili oil, and soy sauce that are added to the bottom of the bowl that need to be mixed throughout the noodles after being served.

Eating Pig Brain and Yak at a Fly Restaurant in Sichuan, China
Chengdu is full of interesting flavours and in this episode I find a local "Fly Restaurant" to try some pig brain, yak meat, and some really fatty pork. What an experience! Join me on facebook:

To find the location in the video, give the taxi driver the following address:
五块石, 陈记凉粉
He should be able to find it. It's located near Sichuan's largest spice market, Wukuaishi, where you can buy Sichuan peppercorns in bulk, and sample some of China's best tea!
This fly restaurant was fully packed and offered some of the tastiest food I've tried in Chengdu. There's also no menu, you just grab the food off of a table or from a guy that puts it on the back of a bicycle!

Eating Frog in Singapore! Would you try this?
Of course you would! If you love eating and if you ever visit Singapore, make sure to eat some frog!
Join me on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Foodrangin
This dish is an underrated beauty. I was slightly nervous trying this crazy awesome dish as I have never had a real frog experience before, but I was happy with the flavours and it was a welcome change after eating Hainanese chicken rice for days. I had to try something new and exciting, and when I saw this frog stall, I knew there was something unique to try.
This frog porridge stall served spicy frog, frog with spring onion, and frog with chicken essence, all boiled in a rich sauce usually served alongside a thick rice porridge that you cover with the froggy sauce.
This froggy paradise known as Eminent Frog Porridge is located at the Lavender street hawker centre, just minutes walk from many of the major hostels, including my favourite one, Michaels Backpackers.
After taking a 5 hour bus ride from Kuala Lumpur down to Singapore, I began by looking for food that is different from the food you find in Malaysia. However, I found that for the most part, the food in Singapore is very similar to that in Malaysia, with subtle differences between some famous dishes like Chicken rice, which I ate happily almost every day. I was lucky to spot this frog stall and immediately wanted to film it, the owner was more than happy, and he ended up giving me a free meal! Nice! Although frog porridge can be found in Malaysia, this was the first time I tried it and in Singapore I found it to be very delicious! All for 8 Singapore dollars (Approx 6.5 USD)

In this episode, I found the longest night market in Malaysia, with over 700 food stalls, and narrowed down the 5 most strange and intriguing snacks that also happen to be extremely delicious!
Join me on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Foodrangin
Some of the most strange, exciting, and delicious snacks can be found at the night markets throughout Malaysia, and should not be missed on any trip to the country. Famous Malaysian food, like Nasi Lemak or Asam Laksa, is well known and famous for a reason, but if you crave new flavours, these snacks should also be a main priority on your travels. If you visit Malaysia for the first time, make sure that food is at the top of your itinerary, as it can literally take months to try the countless varieties of local specialty foods.
The night market features a 2km long stretch of vendors offering numerous snacks from throughout Asia. There are mainly Malaysian Chinese vendors, but there are plenty of snacks that boast their origins from Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, China, Taiwan, and Singapore. The market is only open on Wednesday nights, from 7pm-1am, so make sure to plan accordingly.
To reach the market, you will have to take the LRT to Bandar Tun Razak station, and then take a taxi to reach Taman Connaught Pasar Malam. It should take about 45 minutes to an hour from downtown Kuala Lumpur.

It really is delicious! Sweetness from the coconut, saltiness from the beef "meat floss", and smokiness from the cooking process, which places the bamboo stalks on a slant over a fire.
It takes about 4-5 hours to cook lemang, and this vendor really knew what he was doing! This vendor was one of many found off the highway near Kuala Krai in the northeast of Malaysia.
