We camped at Boca Campground during the weekend of October 7-9, 2023. It was a very relaxing and fun weekend. In this episode, we will talk about the importance of pruning to abide in Jesus. We will read from John 15:1-8 and Romans 11:16-24. This past weekend, me and my husband cut down 3 dead trees. If we allowed them to remain, the trees would have eventually fallen on our house, the fence or the power lines. It's just like the deadwood in our Christian lives, it will not be fruitful and cause more damage. It's important to let Jesus prune away the things that prevent us from connecting with Him. Let go of the past, pride, envy, anger, comparison, and selfishness. Let kindness, love, patience, joy and peace bear good fruit in your life. Throughout the Bible, we are reminded to not fall asleep spiritually and yet we still find ourselves falling asleep. We will read from Matthew 26:36-46 when Jesus instructs the disciples to keep watch with Him while he prayed. However, Jesus found them sleeping each time (3 times) He checked on them. You kind of wonder did the disciples have a food coma..lol? They actually were in a spiritual coma because they were sorrowful and troubled. It's often that we fall asleep in our Christian walk when we need to be alert and keep watch! Are you someone that gets upset when someone doesn't respond to your text right away? There's a little bit of impatience in all of us and we often desire instant gratification. We will be reading about how Esau sold his birthright to his brother Jacob for stew. It sounds crazy, I know right but he did!! However, I feel like sometimes we sell our spiritual birthright for material things when we choose the material things over intimacy with God. We live in an instant pot/microwave culture where desire the instant results over the things of God. If we would seek more of a slow cooker type of result from God, we would find that the results would be a lot better, and we would gain so much spiritual maturity. In this episode, we will be talking about Gideon and how we don't feel like we qualified to do what God has called us to do. We often get complacent and comfortable with our normal routine that we miss what God is calling us to do. When the Angel appears to Gideon, he addresses him as a mighty warrior even though he was acting like the cowardly lion from the Wizard of Oz. We are starting a new series called awaken and I am so excited to share with this first episode. We will be reading from Daniel 3 and be talking about 3 very bold men: Shadrach, Meshach & Abednego. They were told if they didn't bow down to the image, they would be thrown into the fiery furnace. The did not comply and took a stand against one of the most powerful kings of their time: King Nebuchadnezzar! Do you feel the heat being turned up in your life and it is causing you to fall asleep? In Isaiah 43:2 NLT it says: When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. This is a promise from God! Don't let the fire of oppression put you to sleep. Since, my sister Ruth was child she knew that she wanted to be in the film industry. She originally moved to Los Angeles, CA to pursue an acting career. She worked for CBS and Sony to gain experience in the industry but found that she loved producing films even more than acting. She ended up taking risks and fully pursued her dream to produce films and music videos.
