To criticize or not?
I've had a few Facebook commenters say I'm criticizing the incumbent too much, but when you're running against an incumbent, it's impossible to do so without criticizing what they've done in office.
Frankly, we should be criticizing every public servant in office, from President down to the local level. I'm not even an elected official yet and I'm being criticized, ironically mostly from people who are upset I'm criticizing an elected official.
We all criticize our public servants, as we should, but instead of just criticizing the incumbent, I'm providing my answers to each of the criticisms I've offered up.

Social issues: Ignore or Engage?
The main difference between the two Wise County Judge candidates is this: J.D. Clark won’t address social issues when they need to be addressed, while I will.
If J.D. Clark is a conservative, why doesn’t he let us know he’s a conservative by his words or his actions? Here are some questions I believe our County Judge should be willing and able to answer, and frankly any conservative running for office should be able to answer.
- What does "preserving our history" mean? Is it just buildings and family names, or is it something else?
- Preserving implies protecting, so what are we protecting our history from? Leaks in the courthouse? Growth?
- What are the specific values of our community you claim to stand for?
- How will you preserve/protect the values of Wise County, assuming you will identify and name them?
- Why in your seven years as County Judge, the three minutes on your campaign video, and your entire campaign website, do you refuse to address any social issues pushed by the radical left (now the party platform of the Democrat Party) which are impacting Americans?
- Why did you caucus for Obama in 2008? It’s one thing to vote, it’s another to make calls, and still another to block walk, but to go to the Democratic Convention and caucus? That takes serious commitment.
- If you no longer support the ideology Obama espoused, what made you change your mind?
- Is man-made climate change a concern for Americans?
- What are your thoughts on government involvement in healthcare?
- Can you clarify your pro-life position?
- Should there be exceptions for abortion, other than to save the life of the mother?
- Why isn’t Wise County a Sanctuary County for the Unborn instead of just being discussed?
- How many genders are there?
- How does someone determine what gender they are?
- Is the transgender agenda an issue in our schools and community? If not, why do you believe that? If so, how have you as the leader of the county addressed it?
- Should children be allowed to undergo chemical castration or hormone therapy in Texas if their parents approve? It's legal now, so have you done any work with other political leaders in Texas to get this outlawed?
- What is marriage?
- What is critical race theory, and if you can define it, should we be concerned about it? If not, why? If so, what are you doing to address it?
- Do you believe cultural Marxism should concern us and can you define it?
- Is the Black Lives Matter organization doing good things for America? If so, how? If not, why not?
- Are you willing to apologize for being complicit in shutting down businesses and masking up Wise County for a year? You denied it at the recent forum, but there were multiple businesses closed, limiting occupancy, and mandating masks as they believed they had to and they never heard a word from anyone in County government telling them otherwise.
- Are you willing to apologize for telling the people of Wise County Covid-19 was worth declaring an emergency for 12 months, perpetuating the lie that Covid was a unilateral threat to the people of Wise County?
- If it was worth declaring an emergency declaration in 2020 over 25 cases, why did you not declare an emergency declaration when we had over 1,100 cases in January 2022?
- Was it just for the federal money? If so, is there a line in the sand where you would refuse federal money?
- Did Greg Abbott make any mistakes with his Covid related executive orders? If so, what did you do to address them?
- Do you support the censure of Greg Abbott by the Wise County GOP?
- What have you done to stand against the vaccine mandates which are still impacting the people of Wise County? The largest employer in Wise County mandated the vaccine and other residents had their employers mandate it, so what have you done to help these people?
- Do you believe in term limits?
- Should Wise County be a sanctuary County for the Second Amendment?
- Do you support the platform of the Texas GOP? Are there any of the 337 points on which you differ?
- How do you plan to help keep Wise County "red" in the coming four years?
- Do you believe it's not the job of a County Judge to address social issues? If not, why? If so, why haven't you addressed them?
I have more I could ask, but I think if we can get some answers on these questions, that'd be a solid start. I've asked JD to sit down for a conversation style debate with me. Richard Greene from the Wise County Messenger agreed to moderate and host it on their podcast, so hopefully we can sit down soon and civilly discuss all these questions, as well as issues relating to the business side of the job. Of course, I'd be willing to answer any questions he has for me.
If you’d like my answers to those questions, I’ve answered many on my website and videos, but I’ll be addressing each of them in a virtual townhall (stay tuned). In the meantime, we can get together and have a conversation, so please call, text, or email me. I'm more than happy to address each of them and let you know what I've done as a citizen to address each of them and what I will do as County Judge.
God bless, and please like, comment, and share!

Addressing the Transgender Agenda with Wise Co. Commissioner's Court
On 1/24/22 I attended Commissioner's Court and addressed the transgender issue. Here's the transcript:
The reason I'm addressing this is because this is impacting people in Wise County, especially our young people. None of us could have seen this coming, but this is where we are today, and we need our local leaders to address it.
Here's the text of my speech:
Good morning and thank you for your service to our community. I'm here to address a growing issue in Wise County. I've been addressing this at school board meetings because it's in our schools and affecting many families in our community.
I'm speaking of the transgender ideology, which is impacting children and adults everywhere across the planet, and Wise County is no exception.
I can’t force anyone here to publicly acknowledge what a troubling issue this truly is, but I can ask when there will be a County policy established to address the host of issues it brings. This issue has the potential to not only change our values, but violate our first amendment right to free speech.
If a County employee decides to claim they’re a different gender, a TG employee is hired, or when a transgender citizen visits a county facility, the County employees need to know how to respond.
How will County employees be allowed to refer to this person? Do they use the name the person has always had? Does it have to be legally changed? If an employee refuses to acknowledge the transgender person’s new name, will there be repurcussions?
What bathroom will a man who now claims he is a woman be allowed to use (and vice versa)?
If the transgender person wants to force others to refer to them by pronouns which differ from their biological reality, or they want invented pronouns used, such as Ze/Zer or they/them, will County employees be forced to comply? This is compelling speech, a clear violation of the first amendment.
It's unfortunate this has to be brought up, but this has been coming for some time now and this is the world we are now in. To ignore it will not fix it.
If we want to preserve the values of our community, one of those values we should proclaim is the truth that gender is directly tied to our biological reality.
I want to clarify I’m not speaking ill of any person struggling with their gender identity, and there are indeed many in Wise County who claim they’re transgender, especially among our young people. I have nothing but compassion for them. They need help, not confirmation of the delusion they’ve fallen victim to.
I’m standing up against the ideology itself and those who espouse it, whether through activism, corporate policy, or government policy. The clear scientific and medical evidence shows how physically and psychologically damaging this is to people who suffer from it, yet it continues to be normalized in every facet of our society. We have a duty to ensure the children, parents, and employees of Wise County are protected and they know this will not be normalized here.
The people in this room have the authority to protect the employees of Wise County by providing a clear and succinct policy to handle all of these issues. I have this resource packet which is geared towards schools, but can be utilized for implementing our County policy as well. If you'd like a soft copy or any further resources, please let me know and I'd be happy to provide any help you need.
Thanks again and God bless.

Addressing the transgender agenda with DISD School Board - Follow up
On 1/24/22 I followed up with the DISD School Board from the last meeting on 12/20/21. Board Member Thomas Houchin requested this be added to the agenda.
Here's the transcript:
Good evening. As always, thank you all for your service to our community.
I wanted to follow up from the last meeting where I addressed the transgender ideology which unfortunately is impacting the children, parents, and staff of Decatur ISD. I expressed the urgent need for this board to create policies to protect the children, parents, and staff. To my knowledge, none have been implemented and that needs to be remedied, posthaste.
Since our last meeting, at least one more female has decided she is now a male and is asking people to call her by her new name and refer to her by her “new gender”. One of her teachers responded “you tell me how you want to be identified and I’ll call you whatever you like”.
This highlights exactly why I came to that board meeting and provided the tools to implement these much needed policies.
Here are some common sense steps we need to take: If a child wants to change their name, the parents or legal guardians must legally change the child’s name before any staff is compelled to use the new name. The parents must make it clear to staff they are okay with this name change.
The reason why should be clear, but in short it’s to make sure the parent’s decision on this crucial issue is respected. As I covered last time, most of these kids wrestling with gender identity come to accept their biological reality as adults. Many parents don’t want this reinforced by the school, so if a student is “transitioning” on the DL from mom and dad, the last thing we need is the school undermining them.
Under no circumstances should staff or students be compelled to refer to that transgender student by any pronouns other than those which reflect biological reality. If a person has XX chromosomes, that person will be referred to as “she/her”. To compel anyone to use these incorrect pronouns is to violate the first amendment.
If staff are allowed to use alternative pronouns, again, the parents must approve and there needs to be an assembly as well as a letter sent out, where every student, parent, and staff of DISD are made aware, “that teacher is NOT speaking with authority. The position of DISD is thus: one’s gender is determined by their biological reality. No exceptions”.
The reason this is so important is staff in a school are authority figures. If they are using female pronouns to refer to a male or mythical pronouns such as “ze/zer”, their decision carries weight and could negatively influence other children.
These are basic steps as a good start, but we still need a comprehensive policy. I provided the resources last time, and again, this needs action immediately. The longer we wait, the more confusion, dissension, and potential life altering damage is sown in the minds and lives of our children.
Thank you for your time and service, and God bless each of you.

Why run against JD Clark? (final)
*This is an update to my original video. More information included and also shortened the time*
Since announcing my candidacy for Wise County Judge, the most common question I hear from people in Wise County is “why would you run against JD Clark?” and it’s a valid question.
Whomever you’re supporting in this election, I’m respectfully asking that you hear me out to the end of this short video while I answer that question.
If you agree, please share this with as many people as you can. I can't win unless people know about the campaign, so every share helps tremendously.
Thanks in advance and God bless!

Addressing the Transgender movement with the DISD School Board
I was able to share a great resource book with the Decatur ISD school board on 12-20-21. I only had three minutes, but I trust our school board will do the right thing.

#TheLstandsforLiberty #WiseCounty #Texas #Republican #Transgender
Good evening. First off, I’d like to thank each of you for your service to our community. It’s truly appreciated.
As you may be aware, there’s an epidemic impacting children across the planet, including many here in Decatur. I’m not speaking of a virus; I’m speaking of an insidious ideological movement which is taking root in the minds of our children, and it comes cloaked under the guise of tolerance, acceptance, and even love.
I’m speaking of the Transgender movement. I want to start by clarifying I am not speaking ill of any child who is struggling with this, and there are indeed kids in Decatur who claim they’re trans or cisgender. I have nothing but compassion for them. The reason I’m speaking up is to help them, not to condemn them.
What I am speaking against is the ideology itself and those who espouse it, whether through legislation, corporate policy, or school policy (visa vie the “gender unicorn” and other gender identity policies). The clear scientific and medical evidence shows how physically and psychologically damaging this is to children who fall victim to it (whether due to pressure from peers, social media, or even their parents), yet it continues to be promulgated in every facet of our society. We have a duty to ensure the children, parents, and educators of our community are protected.
A few facts to consider:
In just 7 years, there has been a 2,000% increase in children seeking treatment for sexual identity confusion
Puberty blocking hormone usage and cross-sex hormones produce long term sterility and many children are provided these hormones on their very first visit to a clinic
Roughly 80-95% of children who experience some level of gender dysphoria come to accept their biological reality as adults, so long as medical treatments are not administered
For those who undergo these irreversible surgical measures, their suicide rates as adults are 20 times higher than the general population
This is legitimately a life and death issue. Unfortunately, all this medical intervention is happening in Texas thanks to the failures of our Republican elected officials, but it’s our job to address this in Wise County.
I’m here today for two reasons; to inform and to exhort. I’m informing by providing each of you with these resource guides which address all of this. This provides schoolboards, administration, teachers, and counselors with solid data and sound science to help develop policies and procedures to respond effectively and compassionately to this issue.
I’m exhorting by asking you to immediately begin implementing the measures provided, as this is not coming to Decatur. It’s here, right now, and it cannot be ignored. It affects ALL of our children, everyone on staff, and our entire community.
Thank you for your time, God bless each of you, and have a Merry Christmas.

Am I qualified to handle the business aspect of the County Judge role?
Last week I addressed the main difference between JD Clark and I; how we choose to address the tyranny from the government, corporations, and media which is taking over our society.
In the meantime, there's still a lot of county business to be taken care of, and the role of the County Judge is crucial in this area. In this video I address how I'm qualified to handle this important aspect of the job. It's not as emotionally charged as the previous topic, but I hope you take the time to listen as this is important. I did my best to make it as engaging as possible. 😉

Addressing the vaccine mandates (government & corporate)
As encouraging as the win in Virginia was, Republicans have our work cut out for us as the left hasn't even begun the actual push for these vaccine mandates.
Whether you're vaccinated or not, this impacts you, and more importantly, it impacts your kids and grandkids.
We have our work cut out for us, but the solution is as simple as it is effective. We just have to be willing to do it.

How to deal with a tyrannical school board
Is your school still requiring masks for kids, even though it's abundantly clear by now they're completely ineffective and unnecessary?
Are your kids bringing home assignments riddled with CRT and leftist ideology?
Is your daughter being forced to play against boys in her sports?
The issue is not the teachers, but your school board and superintendent, and it's up to YOU to force them to change... but you can't do that from the couch.
I go through three steps/options you can take to tackle this head on and actually effect change in your local school district, and it will work, guaranteed.

My apology to the anti-vaxxers.
Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.
I still may disagree with some of the medical arguments of my anti-vax friends, but I'm in lockstep with them on the bigger issue (and I've become much more informed of their medical positions which I'm now considerably more sympathetic towards).
More importantly, I'm grateful to them for fighting this fight for years while many of us are just now joining them.
Late to the party is better than not going to the party at all, right?

Vaxxed or Unvaxxed, we're not enemies. Focus on the actual bad guys!
Hospitals are filling up. Doctors are nurses are getting angry at the unvaccinated.
.
Mandates are coming down. People of all backgrounds are getting angry at those who are doing the mandates as well as those guilting them into doing something they don't want to do..
Why are we getting angry with one another? Who are the actual villains in this scenario?
Newsflash: we're not enemies. We've lost sight of the bad guy, because we've allowed the bad guy to invade our lives as a seemingly good guy for so long, we're now at the point when he's in the door... and as abused and manipulated children always do, we're fighting with one another instead of uniting against the tyrant in the middle of the room..
It's time to say goodnight to the bad guy and truly focus on the Good Guy.

My body, my choice... Right?!?!
One of the main objections I hear from people who are opposed to vaccine mandates (government or corporate) is how it infringes upon bodily autonomy. When it comes to abortion, the left is ALL ABOUT this principle, even though their reasoning is fundamentally flawed as it pertains to how many bodies are in the equation.
That said, I agree with the premise of bodily autonomy and individual liberty being foundational to a free society.
Why can't we get everyone on board?

To vax or not to vax? That is NOT the question
The narrative is in that *everyone* MUST get vaccinated, and aside from the huge issue of natural immunity via previous infection being ignored, why are we consistently missing the most important issue in this conversation?
Republicans and Democrats alike have both lost sight on freedom, and it's past time we remember why that is the *only* issue.
