“(Parent)’s going through something right now…..” is not something that we, as parents, ever want to have to say to our kids. We never want our mental health to affect our kids in any way, shape or form. However…it’s something that we really need to talk about with our kids. Mental health has become more of a priority in the past few years, especially in the workplace, but one place that often gets overlooked is the home for parents that have to deal with it. We, as parents or guardians, need to have those convos with the children. We can’t hide these things from them and have them think that we don’t struggle and later on find out things that happened in their childhood was because of OUR poor mental health!! There are so many “Big Talks” that we need to have with our kids.
