We're making progress and starting to run the water line and plumbing into the shop. We also put an exhaust fan into help circulate the air in the shop and finish doing some of the OSB sheathing on the walls and in the bathroom. I also do the insulation along the dividing wall of the apartment / garage.

We start building the dividing wall to separate the shop from the apartment and also put in 2 bedrooms.

Just like the title says, we continue putting up the wall insulation and OSB panels. Then we shift gears a little and frame up the bathroom

We finally finished the ceiling and now we're on to insulation and wall osb!

We're two osb sheets shy of finishing up the ceiling for the time being. We'll have to do the last truss span after we move out of the shop and into the house.

Took a day to get some tree work done at my brother's house.

In this video, we continue working on the OSB ceiling in the shop. We're officially done with half of the ceiling which would be the entire apartment side of the shop. Then, after a long day of my Dad digging, we were able to put the septic tank in the ground! It still needs risers and the lateral lines run but it's getting closer to ready! It's exciting watching things start to come together!

Hanging 54 sheets of osb on the ceiling prior to the walls getting done. We're getting there but slowly.

Making progress! Two sheets of ceiling osb are up and about 25% of the ceiling joists are up. Took a bit to get the first sheet squared up but now we're on a roll.

Time to start splitting some firewood so it's ready for the '23-'24 winter season!

Meter base and breaker box put up by my dad and father-in-law. While they did that, I worked on reinforcing the centers of every truss to make them stronger. We also have our first outlet ready to go for when the electric company hooks up the meter base permanently.

We built in 3 additional trusses into the shop to help support the weight of a ceiling that wasn't originally in the plans. I altered the plan along the way.

In this video, we continue with wall framing for the exterior walls. They're going on 16 inch centers between the posts. There's a couple double studs for directly where we're going to build a few additional trusses so that we can support the added weight of an OSB ceiling throughout the shop.

We're on our way now! Sometimes, it seems like the projects never move along but there's a lot of little details to pay attention to in order to get it done with quality! We put up two 10 x 10 garage doors, one set of tracks, and then started framing the exterior walls so we can insulate the building.

In this video, we finished up the trim and the ridges which includes the ridge vents. Next up is the garage doors which will officially get the shop dried in!

In this video, we finish up the side steel, move on to the soffits, and then put up the corner trim. Just a couple weeks from being some dried in!

We're getting close to finished with the majority of the structure. We have the corner trim, soffit, and ridge cap to finish up. That'll be the next video.

Finished up the steel siding for the pole barn. Getting close to having the whole thing closed in!

We put the rat guard up first and then started doing steel on the walls. We're making some solid progress!

We finished up the roof steel. Took us 3 days of hard work and we battled sleet and wind the whole way. Got it done though. Now on to the walls!

This is the first day of us doing the roof steel. It took us a little bit to get rolling and figure out a groove for exactly how we were going to do this process but once we got it going it went pretty quickly.

We framed up the windows, walk through door and finished with the lumber. Next up, we're going to be starting the steel! Just need some decent weather to get it rolling!

Lean-to construction begins. Framing about 60% complete

In this video we got the well drilled. And then my dad and I worked on finishing the final gerts and purlings on the South side of the shop. Then we started framing up the walkthrough door.

It's the day after the concrete pad was poured. Now it's time to move on with construction! We had some bracing to do and we used some metal braces my dad has left over from a house he built 20+ years ago. Finally put some of them to good use to brace the bottom of the trusses.
