Biden: ‘I Cannot Prove What I’m About to Say,’ But Hamas Attacked Israel Because I Was Very Close To Bringing Peace to the Region
EXCERPT:
BIDEN: “I cannot prove what I'm about to say, but I believe one of the reasons why Hamas struck when they did was they knew that I was working very closely with the Saudis, and others in the region to bring peace to the region by having recognition of Israel and Israel's right to exist. You may recall when we did the G-20 a little while ago, I was able to get a resolution -- a statement passed through there saying we're going to build a railroad from Riyadh all the way through the Middle East into Saudi Arabia, Israel, et cetera, and all the way up to Europe -- not the -- not the railroad but underground pipeline and then railroad. The whole idea is there's overwhelming interest and I think most Arab nations know it and coordinating with one another to change the dynamic in their region for a longer term peace.”

lan Ladyman: 'Can football even survive without match officials?
Gary Lineker - Messi
Lineker is deeply committed to supporting the Argentina captain in the battle for GOAT, to the point where he claimed in 2019 that there is 'no comparison' between the two players.
'Messi is on a different level to everybody else, it's as simple as that. People say to me what about Ronaldo's goalscoring record and so forth?,' Lineker argued.
'But I say to them have you seen Messi pass a football? Have you seen him dribble towards goal?'
He also argued - before Messi's World Cup win, a statement that might have seen his popularity dip on Argentinean soil - that the former PSG man was greater than Maradona.
'I never thought I'd see a better player than Diego (Maradona),' he said.
'Maradona was unbelievable and I was so much in awe of him, as everybody was in those days,' Lineker continued. 'But I think when you look at Messi, he does everything and more than Diego could do.
'I'm also a huge fan of Ronaldo, I'm a massive admirer of him. I think he's one of the greatest goalscorers of all time, there's no question about that.
'But for me football is about watching it and getting joy from it, and when I watch Messi play it makes me feel joyous.'

Biden Participates in ‘Polar Bear Plunge’ with Family
SAENZ: “Yeah, it did. President Biden’s granddaughter Naomi posted a photo of the family saying that they all partook in an annual Thanksgiving Polar Plunge, dipping into the cold waters here off the coast of Nantucket. You can see President Biden there wrapped in a towel along with his son Hunter Biden, daughter Ashley, and all of his grandchildren. The Bidens also visited a fire station where they dropped off five pumpkin pies for the firefighters and first responders working there. They also called in to the Thanksgiving Day parade as well as making calls to all branches of the military this Thanksgiving.”

George Floyd's mu*derer Derek Chauvin is stabbed in prison: Former Minneapolis cop '
Derek Chauvin, who was sentenced to 22 years in prison for the May 2020 murder of George Floyd (right), was stabbed by another inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution (inset) in Tucson, Arizona on Friday. The Bureau of Prisons confirmed that an incarcerated person was assaulted at FCI Tucson at about 12:30pm local time. In a statement, the agency said responding employees contained the incident and performed 'life-saving measures' before the inmate, who it did not name, was taken to a hospital for further treatment and evaluation. The former Minneapolis police officer was sent to FCI Tucson from a maximum-security Minnesota state prison in August 2022 to simultaneously serve a 21-year federal sentence for violating Floyd's civil rights and a 22-and-a-half-year state sentence for second-degree murder. Chauvin's lawyer, Eric Nelson, had advocated for keeping him out of general population and away from other inmates, anticipating he'd be a target.

Ben Collins on Greenblatt Praising Elon Musk: ‘Something Is Going on’ with Him ‘Being
COLLINS: “There is a much larger question that I would love to ask Jonathan Greenblatt and love somebody at our network to ask Jonathan Greenblatt because I have not heard a reasonable explanation for this. The ADL by the way has outstanding researchers, really good researchers in this space. I’m sure they don’t know what to do because people like the TikTok woman, she had a whole basic document worked up about her from the ADL about the extremism of that organization, of that group. And that was just pulled down randomly. They say it’s on hold now. There’s something going on with the ADL Jonathan Greenblatt being afraid of pressure from the far right. I don’t know what it is but I would love to hear some answers.”

MSNBC’s Collins: Musk Is Going to GOP State A.G.’s ‘to Go After’ Critics, a ‘Preview’
COLLINS: “$10, not like $10,000, $10. So this place is hemorrhaging cash. Now, are they going to be able to survive this? I don’t really know. Elon wants to run this as a bare bones operation. But I will say the much more — the much scarier part of all this is the preview, the political play book that’s being created here by Elon Musk and the far right. They are going to these Republican ags and saying, file these frivolous suits.”

Media Matters Pres. On X’s Lawsuit: ‘I Don’t See the Point Here at All Except to Silence Us’
CARUSONE: “I mean, we reported something that was accurate that they even acknowledge. So I really don’t understand it. This is like getting mad at a mirror or break a mirror because you don’t like the reflection. That’s what’s happening here. That to me, I think we should get a thank you. If you look back at the totality of our reporting, they either had to respond to it or take action on it. We’ve been doing the work just like other reporters throughout, that the brand, safety and trust he used to do on Twitter, that Elon Musk gutted when he took it over to help it turn into the increasing cesspool of toxicity it is.”

Ayman: Hamas Is ‘Prepared to Release Hostages Through Diplomacy,’ We Could Have Been Without
AYMAN: “Hamas demonstrated early on in this process by releasing those two Americans and those two elderly Israeli women that they were prepared to release the hostages through diplomacy. So we’re back to where we could have been without the casualties, without the loss of life on the Palestinian side and with a much better success rate of releasing all the hostages than where we could have been earlier on than where we are.”

Will Bunch: Netanyahu Is a ‘Cautionary Tale’ to Reelecting Donald Trump
BUNCH: “Well, exactly. I mean, you mentioned in your introduction some of the parallels to Donald Trump. And the fact that he’s under criminal indictment just as Donald Trump is important because a lot of Israeli citizens feel that his actions, both before October 7th and maybe to some extent after October 7th have been motivated by his efforts to, you know, stay out of jail, put off these corruption charges. You know, opinion polls in Israel have shown the Israeli people by and large are tired of his leadership. You know, the polls I’ve seen it’s divided between people who want to leave as prime minister right now and people who are willing to let him finish out this war and then want him to go immediately after. So it’s interesting. And you have to wonder today in announcing this deal he said once we first name these exchanges the war is back on. And you just have to wonder again how much of this is self preservation. One reason it’s funny is I’m a domestic columnist, I have been writing because he’s a cautionary tale for electing Donald Trump. Not just the legal parallels, which are pretty remarkable but also just to form his government, he took a sharp right turn, which, you know, and he’s adopted some really extreme ministers, the ones you heard making some of these comments about reducing Gaza to rubble.”

Reid: Netanyahu Has Done a Lot to ‘Prop up’ Hamas ... Turning Hamas to a
REID: “For someone whose current mission in life is to eradicate Hamas, Bibi has actually done a lot to prop up the militant group. It may sound like a head scratcher until you remember that his prime directive has always been a vehement opposition to a two-state solution. Bolstering Hamas rule in Gaza helped undermine the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank. Divide and conquer was the plan. As well as empowering Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank and the far right and in some cases racist religious parties currently in his governing coalition. That’s to say nothing of his current legal problems, pending indictments against him and his wife for corruption and his push to essentially take control of Israel’s Supreme Court. And if all of that sounds Trump-illy, familiar, an Israeli newspaper, haarietz described him as this, for over a decade, Netanyahu has lent a hand in various ways to the growing military and political power of Hamas. Netanyahu is the one who turned Hamas from a terror organization to a semistate body, releasing Palestinian prisoners, allowing cash transfers with the knowledge that much of the material will be designated with terrorism. All created symbiosis flowering of fundamentalist terrorism and the preservation of Netanyahu’s.”

Chaffetz on Explosion at Canadian Border: ‘Our Borders Need to Be Secure, We Shouldn’t Be Living in Fear’
CHAFFETZ: “Today’s explosion at the border, regardless of the motive behind it is a chilling reminder that we are all on high alert and living in a post 9/11 mindset, which means that our borders need to be secure. We shouldn’t be living in fear. But that’s what the cluelessness in D.C. is forcing us to do. It is having dire consequences on the safety of our nation and the psyche of the average American. The bare minimum we need to know who is crossing into our country?”

Black Mother Who Lost Veteran Son to NYC Crime Crisis: ‘People Are Walking Away from the Plantation
BRAME: “— that are going to — going to affect the brown and black community just like the illegals that are being pushed into these communities, sucking up the resources from the longtime residents that live there. Taxpayers, poor taxpayers are now going to have to foot the bill for these people, and we can’t even afford to pay our own rent. All right? Now we have PACs coming down to programs and different things that are going to be cut directly from our community to pay for illegals. All right? There’s a problem with that. There’s a huge problem with it. And, you know, minorities may be silent as far as being vocal. But I believe that in ’24, this new election, the next cycle, we’re going to see an overwhelmingly amount of people that we have not seen in 30 years come out to vote. All right? People are being educated on the voter registration piece, how to change their party affiliation, question number 14 on their voter registration form. And people are walking away from the plantation of the Democratic Party once and for all.”

Richard Haass: We Need to ‘Lower Our Goals’ in Ukraine, ‘Let’s Have 80% of the Country Saved’
HAASS: “What I argue, therefore, is the United States needs to have some very direct conversations with Ukraine, with President Zelenskyy. Talk about reducing their emphasis on liberating land, increasingly put all their emphasis on holding on to what they’ve got. In the long run, diplomatically through sanctions, yes, we can try to see the rest of their territory returned. But for right now, let’s have 80 percent of this country saved, 80 percent of this country rebuilt. I would actually propose a ceasefire as an interim arrangement to expose the Russians for what they are, so we can rebuild support for Ukraine in this country. But we’ve had two fighting seasons. The idea that one or two or three more years of this is going to result in success, I simply don’t see it.”

AG Garland: DOJ ‘Has Secured Felony Guilty Pleas from the World’s Largest Cryptocurrency
GARLAND: “We are here today to announce that the Justice Department has secured felony guilty pleas from the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, and from its founder and CEO, Changpeng Zhao, also known as CZ. Separate from the criminal enforcement actions the Justice Department is announcing today, Secretary Yellen and Chairman Behnam will also announce civil regulatory enforcement actions that the Treasury Department and the CFTC are taking against Binance. While criminal and civil enforcement actions are subject to different legal standards, this collective effort represents the whole of government approach that we are taking to combat corporate crime. Binance has agreed to plead guilty to willfully violating the Bank Secrecy Act, knowingly failing to register as a money transmitting business, and willfully violating the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.”

Yellen on Binance: ‘We Have Taken the Largest Enforcement Action in Treasury’s History’
YELLEN: “Binance processed these transactions, but it never filed a single suspicious activity report. And it also allowed over 1.5 million virtual currency trades that violated U.S. sanctions. So, we have taken the largest enforcement action in Treasury’s history. FinCEN’s settlement agreement assesses a penalty of $3.4 billion. OFAC’s settlement agreement assesses a penalty of nearly $1 billion. Binance is also required to report the suspicious transactions it has failed to report to date and to establish an effective anti-money laundering program to support the global AML/CFT regime. And the settlement agreements subject Binance to increased scrutiny for five years through a third-party monitor, overseen by FinCEN, who will ensure Binance’s complete exit from the United States. The monitor will be able to access Binance’s systems, transactions, and accounts and will review and report on all actions included in the settlement agreements.”

Sen. Coons Claims Biden Is ‘Putting Us in a Stronger Place on the World Stage’ by ‘Deterring Iran’
COONS: “President Biden, frankly, is doing what he should do: focusing on leading and on governing, putting us in a stronger place on the world stage, deterring Iran, deterring Putin, standing by our close allies. And then here at home, delivering the results that we’ve already gotten done: the historic infrastructure plan, reducing prescription drug prices, investments in community mental health, greater safety for guns, and advances in combating climate change. When President Biden has the chance to connect with people and to convey to them exactly how much we’ve gotten done, and some of us out here on the campaign trail are allowed to say, pointedly, what President Trump, what sort of a threat he poses to our democracy and our civilization, I think that’s the right balance. And I think at the end of the day, the American people see clearly this choice between the former president and the current president and will re-elect Joe Biden."
