“Unraveling vs driving rotation” on pitchers
Figuring out which cue works for you is dependent on the way your body moves and where you feel created tension in your delivery.
Guys that coil or counter rotate and hold that closed position towards home plate typically feel like they “unravel” into foot strike to initiate rotation.
guys that don’t proactively do these things typically feel like they “drive the back hip” to home plate more aggressively to feel that rotation occur in their delivery.
Sometimes it’s difficult to figure these things out on your own and it’s good to have an extra set of eyes on your throwing to get second opinions and make sure you’re doing everything you can to get the most out of your delivery.
