Every once in a while, you'll run into things that just need a little more attention from the manufacturer. The Factory Five Mk4 glovebox is one of those things. We get the glovebox installed and then move onto our under dash panels......... or so we thought. Slight hiccup with the grab bar mounting bracket. Oops!. We've reached one of the most exciting times of the build for the owners of the car. It's time to see if this brand new Gen 2 Coyote engine they purchased is going to come to life. We had a few setbacks this weekend with cancelled flights, traffic delays and a few small leaks. But in the end, the Prototype roared to life and then settled into a quiet purr. As we close in on our first start, the wiring continues. It's time to put a wrap on the wiring for our Factory Five Racing Mk4 Prototype. We tackle the wiring for our seat heaters and bore some holes in the aluminum panels for our seatbelts that will be coming soon. Our Russ Thompson turn signal switch gets installed on our steering shaft. Russ has a new option for his famous turn signal switch. We were glad to have had a hand in helping him modify his proven design and making it a little more user friendly. We start out trying to get our gauge sensors mounted to the engine but quickly realize we are missing some parts to make that happen. Short story ensues explaining what we think happened to a number of parts we found we are missing. Next we dive into mounting the exhaust headers using locking header bolts. We jump back on the sensors for the engine after a trip to our favorite hardware store. We move onto the surge tank hardware. Last thing we hit is the radiator and using a hinged upper mount. We prep our Factory Five Mk4 for the engine re-install. After some unexpected weather, we dive into e-brake cables getting them finished up. Then we move onto finishing up the drop trunk box. Throw in a new package tray behind the seat and then we finish off the engine install prep with a couple of ground studs welded in behind the dash. We start this one out with a new/old solution to the Factory Five Racing e-brake handle issue. If you don't like the cables running under the frame tube, take a look and see how we turned back to clock to use an old solution for a new problem. Next the front, engine bay, battery box goes in with a few tips on how to avoid issues. Sometimes you have to work backwards to move forward. In this case it was easier for the car owner to transport the car here from Texas with the engine and transmission in the chassis. We need them out to finish the footbox panels so the Engine has to come out. We get the cockpit floor panels in and start on the passenger footbox panels.
