In record time, about 3 days, we got our panels back from the powder-coater. Now we're ready to install the interior panels for the final time. We head out from our first nights stay in Big Spring, Texas heading towards New Mexico. The next morning, packed up and ready to go, we travel towards Arizona staying in the small town of Williams. We have dinner with the former Mayor of Williams. A new day brings us to day 4 of our trip back to California and we almost feel like we're home. We head out and bid farewell to San Marcos, TX. Heading West, we hope to catch a glimpse of the once in a lifetime total solar eclipse that Texas may see. Our path home takes us to an area the local news has said, "may give us a view of the eclipse". With cloud cover most of the way this morning, we pull off the road in the County of LLano. Day 2 of the Texas Spring meet starts with us getting together with friends Joel & his son Dillon, who we have not seen in a few few years. Ed and Kathy lead our group for the second day in a row out to a local airfield. After which we head to Gruene TX. for some site seeing and a bite for lunch. The afternoon cruise takes us along the Guadalupe River Road. We head out on Easter Sunday to travel East towards Texas. Taking a leisurely 4 days to get there, we travel many of the back roads and highways. This time around we start work on the Factory Five Racing Type 65 Coupe. The fuel system is up first and we get the fuel pump and hanger installed after removing the hanger supplied with the kit.
