Celebrating with Holy Spirit - Anders Graversen & Ravi Chandran | #danish #english
This time we had a combined service of churches - ICC, Kingos and Bethal.
The Bible says in the Book of Acts 2:1-13, "When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their language being spoken. Utterly amazed, they asked: “Aren’t all those speaking Galileans? Then how does each of us hear them in our native language? Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome (both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our tongues!” Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, “What does this mean?” Some, however, made fun of them and said, “They have had too much wine.”
The purpose of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit is to ensure that the good news of the gospel can be spread throughout the whole earth in every language. While this can be seen as impossible or even “being under the influence” by some, God has ordained it so and the truth is still marching on. Every tongue, tribe, language, kindred and nation will have the gospel message preached to them before the end comes. This is what Jesus promised - He will accomplish it.
Join us to witness a small glance of it on Sunday. Let us not be among those who think “They have had too much wine.”

What It Means To Be A Mother - Lillian Leow
As it is Mother's Day, we have a very special service, focused on all mothers, to honor and recognize them. Lillian Leow shares a short input from both Scriptures and her personal experience as to “What It Means To Be A Mother.” There will be 3 responses from various individuals in the congregation, to their private experiences.
We thank God for the dedication, and sacrifices, of all mothers, and their contribution to humanity, from Eve in the Garden of Eden to date. Of course, some of us have had challenges with our mothers, and there have always been irresponsible mothers, and fathers in history. Let that not take away from those who faithfully toil all day long, all week long, all month long, and all year long until their last breath! A mother is always a mother - in spite of all the challenges she faces.

What is a healthy church? - Ravi Chandran
Ravi shares a short message entitled, “What is a healthy church?” as gleaned from an article written by Jim Kitchens from https://chchurches.org/just-what-is-a-healthy-church. It is common to measure a healthy church by standards such as, how big it is, and how great their budget is, to ascertain its “success”.
However, does this match up with Paul’s comments in Ephesians 4:15-16, "Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ? From him, the whole body joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” Is the true church a spiritual organism or a successful organization?
Jim argues that the key elements of a healthy church should be based on a shared vision, thriving ministry, and trusted leadership. Let us discuss if these values line up with Scripture, or if they are pure humanistic values.

Standing the Test of the Time - Noah Mataruse
Noah preaches a message entitled Standing the test of time. The passage of time affects living and nonliving things in profound ways. Some effects are desirable, such as getting wiser with age, and some are not, such as metal rusting over time. However, with preparation and regular maintenance, some of the adverse effects of time can be controlled. Noah talks about how we can recognize the negative effects of time on our faith and relationship with God. He will close by highlighting how we can prepare and maintain ourselves in ways that help us to get better with time

Redeemer, Savior, Friend - Ravi Chandran
Because of mankind's sin and rebellion, God in His love, covenanted redemption, Jesus came as the atoning Lamb of God and paid the ultimate price on the Cross of Calvary, where He died for our sins. He was buried and on the third day, rose again, and appeared to His disciples for forty days and nights before ascending into heaven. On the fiftieth day after His resurrection, on the Day of Pentecost, He returned in the form of the Holy Spirit, enabling us to do the work of God and abiding within us as the Temple of the Holy Ghost. Meantime, He promised never to leave nor forsake us. Here we see the functions of our God as Redeemer, Savior and Friend.
The next time Jesus comes back to earth, it will no longer be as a Humble Lamb but as a Conquering King, to pronounce judgement on sin and death. This same Jesus, our Redeemer, Savior and Friend will then bring those who believe in Him to be with Him forever in the New Heaven and Earth where there will be no more death, sorrow pain, sickness or tears - joy everlasting by the Right Hand of God.

Enthroning the Right King - Liliane Kayihura
Luke 19:28-44 narrates the story of the triumphal entry of Jesus, riding on a colt that was borrowed from people, unknown to the disciples, but known by Jesus. When Jesus came near a place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in a loud voice for all the miracles they had seen, "Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
They didn't care that he was riding on a colt, and not on a horse, like a Conquering King. However, we also see another group of people who were not happy with what was happening. The Pharisees asked Jesus to rebuke those who were hailing him as King. But Jesus told them that if they kept quiet, the stones would cry out.
This shows us that whether we praise God, or not, He will be praised. Psalm 22 tells us that when we praise God, we enthrone Him, when we cry out to Him, he will save us. Praising God is more for us, than for God.
Christians are expected to praise our Lord Jesus Christ. Are we sure we are praising the right God? Did we enthrone the right God? If so, are we praising him the right way? What are the consequences if we can’t answer YES to all the above questions? This coming Sunday, we will try to answer, with the help of the Holy Spirit, the above questions and a few more.

True and False Prophets - Ravi Chandran
In the adult service, Ravi continues the sermon on the mount series with a message entitled, “True and False Prophets.”
Mathew winds down the sermon on the mount in chapter seven with Jesus’ teaching on prayer, the wide and narrow gates, and now with distinguishing true and false prophets followed by true and false disciples. The sermon on the mounts ends with a plead for wisdom in having a firm foundation in the Word of God.
Matthew 7:15-20, " “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit, you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit, you will recognize them."
The phenomenon of false prophets promoting false teaching is nothing new in the Scriptures. Therefore, Jesus’ warning here should not come as a surprise after the elaborate sermon on the mount. However, He gives us the key to distinguish between a true and false prophet - their fruits.
There is a massive difference between being judgemental and observing fruits. While God is the judge of all the earth, we bear the responsibility as believers to observe the fruits of a ministry and minister in comparison with the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Paul gives us a good distinction between spiritual fruits and carnal fruits in Galatians. In time, these fruits will be evident.
Galatians 5:19-26, "The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things, there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.”

Your Choices, Will Make You - Ravi Chandran
In the adult service, Ravi continues the sermon on the mount series with a message entitled, “Your Choices, Will Make You.” As we read, perhaps the two most crucial sentences of Jesus, as recorded in Matthew 7:13-14, it probably might send chills up and down our spine! "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
Why is it so “difficult” to find the way to life and heaven, and so “easy” to slip into destruction and hell? Is God really a “cruel taskmaster” or is He the lover of our souls? Have we as humans invented humanistic “alternate salvation” as opposed to God’s ONLY way - through atonement and redemption by the blood of Jesus? While religion provides many “self-help” programs, the true gospel invites us to literarily, take up our cross, or die to ourselves.
While these thoughts may be hard to grasp in an “entitlement humanistic” generation, the truth of the words of Jesus has never changed and will be proved right on the day of judgment. After all that has been said and done, when we stand before the throne of judgment, what do we think our destiny will be!?! Heaven or hell? The bible puts it simply - the choices you make will make you! There are consequences to all our decisions and there will be nobody to blame on the day of judgement but ourselves. Sadly, biblical statistics, as Jesus states it, need urgent evaluation by humans.

Ask, Seek and Knock - Ravi Chandran
Ravi continues with the series on The Sermon On The Mount. This time, we focus on a topic entitled, “Ask, Seek and Knock”.
We read in Matthew 7:7-12, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.”
There are many forms of prayers, just as there are many forms of communication. Prayer is communication that is birth out of communion. For communion to take place, there must be unity of mind and spirit. In the context of the sermon on the mount, Matthew records these words of Jesus after some elaborate topics preceding it, which have been covered in previous sermons. The current prayer in focus is known as prayers of supplication. To ask, in response with a deep understanding of God’s word, works and principles. Thus, to be in unity of Spirit with the Mind of Christ.
Just as earthly parents want the best for their children, so does our heavenly Father want the best for us. Likewise just as earthly parents refuse certain things from their children, so does our Heavenly Father. Contrary to the contemporary understanding that God only answers prayers with a big fat YES, it is only one-fifth of the truth. God may say “yes”, “no”, “wait” or remain “silent". Sometimes God answers our prayers by changing us, to cope with the situation, of mysterious circumstances, instead of changing it. God works in mysterious ways and He is sovereign. Our God is reasonable and not mystical.

Dangers of God’s Blessings - Ravi Chandran
Ravi shares a message entitled, “Dangers of God’s Blessings”. The title begs the question, “Could God bless us with something that is ‘dangerous'”?
We read in Exodus 33:1-3 God’s offer to Moses regarding the promised land: "Then the Lord said to Moses, “Leave this place, you and the people you brought up out of Egypt, and go up to the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, saying, ‘I will give it to your descendants.’ I will send an angel before you and drive out the Canaanites, Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. Go up to the land flowing with milk and honey. But I will not go with you, because you are a stiff-necked people and I might destroy you on the way.” We also read Moses’ amazing reply to this offer in verse 15 of the same chapter, "Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.
We can draw a few lessons from this exchange which we want to expound further from other Scriptures. First, we can have the blessings of God without the presence of God. Second, when we have both the blessings of God and the presence of God, we can lose the presence of God because of the blessings of God. Last, we should always only seek His presence.
Blessings aren’t important. It is the presence of God that matters. All blessings will follow When we seek His Kingdom and righteousness first. Let us have goodness and mercy follow us, and not vice versa.

No compromise - Ravi Chandran
Ravi shares another critical message entitled, “No Compromise!” in following up with the message shared last Sunday. If you missed the sermon last Sunday, you may view it here: https://youtu.be/KnNutZnB4OA
Moses was commanded to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt into the promised land. Pharoah initially refused to let them go, and after the plaques brought about by the finger of God, he slowly but surely relented. However, prior to giving in, he tried several times to negotiate with Moses.
Pharaoh first offered Moses to allow Israel to worship God right in Egypt. He next offered that they may go, but not too far. Later on, he said they may go but only men without women and children. Finally, he said they may all go without their flocks and herds. Moses denied all offers of compromise and stood firm that “not a hoof is to be left behind”. (Exodus 10:10:26)
What are the lessons we can draw from these examples? What does it mean to live a compromised Christian life? Have we somehow bent backward or backslider in our spiritual journey with the Lord? Can we stand firm as Moses did towards the lusts of the eye, the lusts of the flesh, and the pride of life?

Is Christianity Compromised? - Ravi Chandran
We read much in the Old Testament about the nations being judged due to their idolatry, and God being a Just and Jealous God of Love. Israel was severely warned about cleansing the land they were about to inherit from all idolatry and informed that God was handing this real estate to them due to the judgement pronounced on those who inhabited it before. However, after settling in the promised land and being satisfied with the blessings of God, the children of Israel adulterated themselves with the very same gods they were supposed to get rid of. After many warnings and trials, the same judgement that was deemed on those who lived there before came to them.
There were many pagan gods in those days but 3 seemed to be a snare to Israel repeatedly. Baal, Asherah and Molek. These deities have shifted names over the sanctuaries but their seductive influence remains the same. What do they represent, and could these spirits still be luring in Israel let alone Christianity today? The Bible clearly states that "judgement begins in the house of the Lord” as it did in the Garden of Eden. Have we kept Christianity idol-free, or could these sinister spirits be lurking around in the darkness?
Let us ensure we do not fall under the same temptations that befell God’s chosen people. Yes - the love of God endures forever and His mercies never end. However, this has always been, and still is, only extended to those to repent. Not to those who are oblivion of their conditions.

God's blessings in 2023 - Part 2
In this video we look back and give thanks to God for all His goodness and faithfulness throughout 2023.
No doubt many of us have had challenges, as well as praises, answered prayers and those still pending. We often say, that God always answers prayers, sometimes it is “yes”, sometimes “no”, sometimes “wait” and at other times “silence”. God is Sovereign and He knows best. Sometimes we pray for something or someone, and instead of things changing, we change, with a supernatural ability to cope with the situation. Still, God always answers prayers one way or another.
This time, we are listening to as many of you as possible, about at least one major answer to prayer in 2023.

A Word for 2024 - Ravi Chandran
Ravi shares a very brief word for the year 2024. It is something he felt impressed in his heart and he will humbly submit it to you for your own evaluation. It is quite common for believers to seek “prophetic” words for a year. While eager, be cautious that these are indeed words from God, and not simply a fragment of someone's imagination. As spiritual children of God, we must distinguish the difference between the supernatural and superstitious, embracing the former and exposing the latter. Speaking on behalf of God is a serious matter and God had false prophets stoned to death in the Old Testament times. His Name shall not be taken in vain let alone speaking on behalf of Him in a false pretext.

God's blessings in 2023 - Part 1
This Sunday the 31st of December, the last Sunday of 2023, we want to take time in ICC to look back, and give thanks to God, for all His goodness and faithfulness throughout 2023.
No doubt many of us have had challenges, as well as praises, answered prayers and those still pending. We often say, that God always answers prayers, sometimes it is “yes”, sometimes “no”, sometimes “wait” and at other times “silence”. God is Sovereign and He knows best. This Sunday, we want to take time to hear from as many of you as possible, about at least one major answer to prayer in 2023. Come and be prepared to testify to the goodness of God. Just keep your testimonies short, sharp and straight to the point, glorifying God.
We look forward to hearing many testimonies so we can all return with thanksgiving for 2023 and divine hope for 2024.

A Child is born, a Son is given - Ravi Chandran
Ravi shares a Christmas Message entitled “A Child is born, a Son is given”. Jesus is called the Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace on whom the governments will lean on His shoulder.
As we look at the world today, this promise may be far-fetched. However, God’s Words never fail and will fulfil everything He has intended. Indeed, Jesus will rule over the nations and the righteous will reign with Him throughout eternity.

Amazing Grace: Saved For A New Life - Carsten Skovgaard-Holm
Ephesians 2:1-10 says, "As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
Without Jesus, we are not just “a little bit” sinners. It goes much deeper. We are spiritually dead! But (and that is a great “BUT”), God made us alive in Jesus Christ. How? By grace, and what an amazing grace that is. It's the gift of God. It is free. It is available to all who want it, seek it, and ask for it. It was not cheap as it cost God His Son. This costly but free grace is now made available to you and I.

If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”
While generosity is encouraged in the bible, hypocrisy is shunned. Jesus said we will always have the poor with us. There are a multitude of reasons why poor people exist, but acts of kindness toward the needy are encouraged, as God Himself will reward such an act. It is also vital to note that there is a difference between the needy, and greedy. Greed scams should not be rewarded, but exposed, and avoided under all circumstances God's reward for generosity includes His constant supply to nourish those who nourish others, so the process can be repeated.

Can We Love Our Enemies? - Ravi Chandran
Ravi resumes the sermon on the mount series with a message entitled, "Does Loving Our Enemies Make Sense?" Jesus said in Matthew 5:43-48, “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”
The Bible is perhaps the only book in the world that teaches us to love our enemies and pray for them. How could this be possible? What does it actually mean to love people who are out there to “get you” or maybe even “destroy” you? Why would Jesus expect something seemingly impossible from us? To top it up, wait for it, He said to be “perfect”!?! Lord, are you serious? What is going on here? Come and find out Sunday as God will never place expectations on us that we cannot fulfil. All things are possible if we believe and understand.

An Eye for an Eye - Ravi Chandran
Ravi is continuing the series of the Sermon on the Mount, as we are looking at Matthew 5:38-42, “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and does not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. The title of the sermon is, “An eye for an eye”.
This passage can be easily misunderstood, as it does not mean, believers, are expected to be a “doormat” to be stepped on by enemies and left broke. What then is Jesus saying here? We have established that He did not come to nullify the law of Moses but to fulfill it. Then how does the passage above apply? To be clear, Jesus addressed the most basic relational challenges that the common man and woman faced during the sermon on the mount. The religious leaders of His time had so distorted the law of Moses that it was difficult, let alone possible, for people to meet its requirements. Jesus’ pinpoint clarity, helped to clear the fog and make their yoke easy and their burden light.
Therefore, come and find out more about this amazing passage and how to relate to those who choose to be your enemy. If you have no enemies, don’t go looking for one. These have a way of finding you. Instead, learn from Jesus how to deal with it.

Faith like Abraham - Noah Mataruse
This time, we have the privilege and honor of having Noah from Zimbabwe to be our guest speaker. Noah is a former pastor, a current home group leader, a lay preacher, an intercession facilitator, and a home group consultant to ICC. He is sharing a message entitled, “Faith Like Abraham.”
Hebrews 11:8-12 says, "By faith Abraham when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God. And by faith, even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise. And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore."
How many people understand faith in God these days is quite different from how the people we read about in the bible understood their faith. In this week’s sermon, we show that faith, in its correct expression, results in action that glorifies God. We show that true faith in God embraces, danger, discomfort, pain, and hardships with the full knowledge that God will always be sovereign in all situations. We will look at Abraham, and other characters, to learn how to express our faith in God in our time.

7 Things God Hates - Ravi Chandran
This time, Ravi exposes the WOKE Culture sweeping across the world and affecting young and old. As believers, we must be aware of what it is and how to respond to this according to biblical values. Let us continue to be the salt and light of the world for Christ, even in a hostile environment.

Climate and the Bible - Ravi Chandran
We hear much about global warming and going green these days. The science of saving the planet by doing everything environmentally friendly, and recycling whatever is possible, has been rather controversial. While it is true that we must care for the environment, is it also true that sometimes these measures can be taken to an extreme. Some things being said and done by the environmentalists-gurus sometimes seem counterproductive. As Christians, what should our roles be in this rush to “save the planet”? Does the Bible have anything to say about it?
The book of Revelations has plenty to say about “global warming” compared to the current climate conditions. In fact, in Romans 8:19, Paul said that "For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.” In fact, with the entrance of sin and the destruction of divine order, redemption will eventually restore the earth to the way things ought to be.
Learn more about saving the planet according to God’s plan VS humanistic virtue signaling. There will be a time for Q&A after the teaching to come prepared with your questions.

Globalization and the Bible - Ravi Chandran
Something fascinating is recorded in Genesis 11:1-9. Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. As people moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there. They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar. Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.” But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower the people were building. The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.” So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. That is why it was called Babel —because there the Lord confused the language of the whole world. From there the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth.”
This phenomenon, of mankind wanting to govern the earth God created, with no regard to the Creator, is not new. Nations and Kingdoms with that same intent have risen, and fallen, throughout history. The main agenda of the antichrist, in the last few days, will be the same. It is to usher in an era of one world government, one world monetary system, and one world religion. This new world order is currently going through a great reset. We as believers must be aware of what is happening, in order to continue to be the salt and the light of the earth effectively.
