I put out two piles of food for iguanas: cabbage and zucchini. It appears they prefer cabbage. I also learned that the hole in the fence is good for them. They use it. Without the hole they tend to panic and get stuck in the chain link.

I was sitting on a bench petting Mau the cat when Mau suddenly hissed and spit. I thought maybe I had somehow hurt him. Then I saw him eyeing the ground behind me. I turned to see my favorite iguana approach. I stood up after he passed. Normally that scares iguanas. Not this one. I went inside to get some cat food. The iguana waited patiently. He ate the food just inches from my feet.

I was placing some bread along the top of a wall. The height of the wall is right at my nose level. I saw from the corner of my eye a movement to my left. I thought it was a bird. To my surprise it was an iguana. I have never seen one approach a person before. They usually scurry away as quickly as possible.

I threw some old moritas sauce into the back yard along with some squash scraps. To my surprise the iguanas preferred the chile sauce to the squash.

This large iguana was walking along the wall. He is afraid of his own shadow despite his menacing look.

Mau the feral cat likes to watch squirrels eat. Both are standing on a wall. Normally the squirrels just jump into the tree and wait for Mau to depart. Not this squirrel. He lunges at Mau after Mau lunged at him.

Mau has had some cockleburs stuck in his fur. I have some combing gloves to clear them out.

We arrived home from work. I heard a mau from Mau. He was sitting on the wall waiting for supper. After sending his salutations he promptly jumped down from the wall and headed for the back door.

Mau the feral cat likes to walk while I walk the dog. I heard a distinctive "mau" when I was walking my dog Neve. It was early around 3am. Mau seemed very interested in what Neve was doing. Breakfast was served after the walk.

I glued a plastic bowl to a cement wall to feed a cat. This iguana watches me. After I fill the cat bowl, he comes down to feast. Then he rests and climbs back up the palm tree.

Mau the outdoor cat managed to stay dry as hurricane Ian left in its wake a deluge of water on southern Florida. After Mau ate, he kneaded up some biscuits on my lap.

After three months of watching this stray cat from afar, he now comes running to me even when I do not have food. Today he spontaneously jumped into my lap. He has sat in my lap before though it was I who picked him up.

Today feral Mau descended from his perch on a cement wall to hold court. He wanted to be honored, but he really was not in the mood to be stroked.
