The Mirage Volcano Las Vegas
This video was taken the last time I was in Las Vegas. We were on the opposite side of the strip when it started so I had to stop and start the video. Even from the opposite side of the street I could feel the heat of the flames.
The Mirageis a 3,044-roomPolynesian-themed casino resort on theLas Vegas StripinParadise,Nevada, United States. The resort was built by developerSteve Wynnand is owned and operated byMGM Resorts International.
An artificialvolcanoalong the Strip that "erupts" nightly at 8:00 pm, 9:00 pm, and 10:00 pm. After sister propertyBellagioopened, the design firmWET Enterprisesimproved the technology behind the volcano effect to make it more spectacular, in 1996. To avoid the smell of uncombusted natural gas odorant, themercaptanis stripped from the natural gas and apina coladafragrance is added to the natural gas stream. The Volcano closed for a second and more elaborate renovation in February 2008 and reopened on December 8, 2008. A new soundtrack, complete with the sounds of actual volcanoes erupting, and featuring the work ofGrateful DeaddrummerMickey Hart, has been included for an even more enhanced experience.
This is a must see attraction when you visit Las Vegas.

Scout And Her Swimming Pool
Scout is half Labrador and half Border Collie. In this clip her Lab half is definitely kicking in. She just loves playing in the water when her Swimming pool is brought out.
Skye is half black Lab and half Bulldog. She however doesn't like playing in the water and thinks that it is only for drinking.

Brothers Arm Wrestling
What do you do when you know that you can not win? You act like you aren't even trying.
This is a clip of my two sons arm wrestling. My youngest was talking trash, but when it came down to actually performing and he knew he couldn't win, he tried to make it obvious that he wasn't even trying.

The Palomar Knot
The palomar knot is the strongest knot that you can use for attaching hooks, swivels and lures. I use it whenever I am fishing for larger fish and using larger tackle.
The Palomar knot is a knot that is used for securing a fishing line to a fishing lure, snap or swivel.
Steps in tying a Palomar knot. 1. Tie the loose overhand knot. 2. Pass the object through the remaining loop. 3. Start snug. 4. Finish snug (pull evenly on standing ends). 5. View of obverse side.
To tie the knot first double 8–12 inches of line into a loop and pass it through the eye of the hook, lure or swivel. Tie a very loose overhand knot using the doubled loop and the doubled section of line leading back to the fishing rod. Pass the object to be tied through the remaining loop of the overhand knot and slide the loop up onto the line just above the eye of the hook. Moisten the knot to lessen the friction and pull on the tag and standing ends evenly to snug the knot down. Trim the free end of the line to a length of about 3mm.
This knot is good for all kinds of light fishing lines, especially braided Dacron, and retains almost all of the original line strength, even with monofilaments. It also is nearly impossible (if tied correctly) to "pull out". It is equally effective with other fastening applications – such as a dog clip to a rope – provided the object being tied to can pass through the loop, and the line or rope is not too thick to pass through the object twice, and, with practice, it can be tied in the dark with cold hands.

Catch Your Own Bait
When it comes to catching flatheads live bait is always better. It's also fun to sling out a light rod while you are waiting on a bite on your main rods.

Our first five years with Heidi
A compilation of photos from our first five years with Heidi. Heidi is a German Shepherd that we got from a local breeder. We knew when we first saw her that she was the one to join our family.
The German Shepherd is a breed of medium to large-sized working dog that originated in Germany. According to the FCI, the breed's English language name is German Shepherd Dog. The breed was officially known as the "Alsatian Wolf Dog" in the UK from after the First World War until 1977 when its name was changed back to German Shepherd. Despite its wolf-like appearance, the German Shepherd is a relatively modern breed of dog, with their origin dating to 1899.
As a herding dog, German Shepherds are working dogs developed originally for herding sheep. Since that time, however, because of their strength, intelligence, trainability, and obedience, German Shepherds around the world are often the preferred breed for many types of work, including disability assistance, search-and-rescue, police and military roles and acting. The German Shepherd is the second-most registered breed by the American Kennel Club and seventh-most registered breed by The Kennel Club in the United Kingdom.
German Shepherds are moderately active dogs and are described in breed standards as self assured. The breed is marked by a willingness to learn and an eagerness to have a purpose. They are curious, which makes them excellent guard dogs and suitable for search missions. They can become overprotective of their family and territory, especially if not socialized correctly. They are not inclined to become immediate friends with strangers. German Shepherds are highly intelligent and obedient, as well as protective of their owners.

This little creek is too crowded
It looks like this creek has more people than fish. Maybe they should spread out a little?

Fising Rod Storage
This is the system I use to store my fishing rods. It was very inexpensive to make and it keeps them up and out of the way.
If you are looking for a DIY project to protect your fishing rods, this is the best storage system to protect your rods and keep them off of the floor.

Scout has a new game
Scout is half Black Lab and half Border Collie. The other day we were cleaning up sticks that fell down after the ice storm. She decided that she wanted to help but found out that it was more fun to play fetch with it instead.

Live Police Drug Bust
I was sitting watching tv when I heard loud sirens outside. I looked out of the back window and got my own live view of a scene from Cops.
Apparently there was a meth dealer in the neighborhood and the police have been watching. After a deal was made they got pulled over trying to leave.
