Marcus Aurelius: 1 LIFE CHANGING Quote (STOICISM) 😳📝
The Roman Emperor and Stoic philosopher Marcus Aurelius warns us to be tolerant of others and strict with ourselves, with this 1 Life Changing Quote of Stoicism.
This means that you need to guard against being toxically positive. PMA is for you to cultivate for yourself, not for you to force on others or unreasonably expect them to. Appropriate.
Life is often painfully tricky, confusing, tragic, and full of debilitating disappointments and obstacles.
We all have different levels of strength and coping skills, both generally and under other specific circumstances in the various unique seasons in our life. Don't be arrogant with your PMN.
Let it shine, but not obnoxiously, in the face of others genuinely suffering and wrestling with depression and pain.
Instead, let your PMA naturally and implicitly manifest in your way of being. This means that you should leave with empathy and compassion fashion, not some litany of PMA-inspired slogans.
If you got that PMA, those around you already know you got it. They may or may not want it themselves, but even if they do, it doesn't mean they know how to invoke it or even can under the weight of particular circumstances.
Do you practice this stoic quote in your life? Let me know how with a comment down below 👇

Watch This If You Feel Like A Failure 🫠 (Learn From Tony Soprano)
Actor and entrepreneur Ashton Kutcher says: "The failures that we have are sometimes expensive educations."
Because he's right, it behooves you to learn FAILURE RULE #4: Build Your Thing One and Thing Two Dependency to help you with your failure prevention strategy.
Because failure only rules after it first sucks, and because failure sucks while also being ultimately inevitable in some form, it is ideal to try and avoid as much of it as possible.
Failure prevention and preparation go hand in hand. You must prevent what you can to minimize the suck so you can reserve your energy to optimize the extracted value from the failure you cannot avoid.
Building thoughtful enabler pursuits - your Thing One - to sustain and empower you as you chart your plans toward your highest value primary dream pursuit — your Thing Two – will mitigate the failure that punctuates your calling journey path.
Tony Soprano said: "If you can quote the rules, then you can obey them."
The most critical, self-evident Failure Rule is simply this: try to avoid failure as much as is possible. You can learn how to Build Your Failure Prevention Strategy by watching the full video.

Toxic Positivity The DARK SIDE Of Positive Vibes
Nothing is more positive to me than a good soak and smoke.
So right now, it isn’t hard for me at all to feel a deep sense of gratitude and PMA while I’m chilling in my hot tub, puffing a fine cigar, and enjoying a choice elixir.
So what the hell exactly is PMA?
PMA stands for Positive Mental Attitude. It was a mindset championed by the self-help author Napoleon Hill, most notably in his book Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude.
The term and mindset were later co-opted and championed by the legendary Rastafarian punk band, the Bad Brains, in their song “Attitude.” The song howled:
“Don't care what they may say
We got that attitude
Don't care what they may do
We got that attitude
Hey, we got that P.M.A.
Hey, we got the P.M.A.”
The Bad Brains’ injection of a PMA mindset into their music and message ran counter to the nihilism typically associated with the punk scene. But their PMA preaching somehow found resonance in a scene that deep down still had a yearning for optimism.
Author, triathlete, and singer for the Cro-Mags and Bloodclot, John Joseph, was once a young roadie for the Bad Brains. He internalized their PMA preaching and made the mindset a lifelong ethos he has always struggled to maintain. He credits this mindset with helping him overcome various hard times and failures—from addiction to homelessness to street violence. Feeling Lost In Your 20s? 🫠 (Listen to Vince Flynn's Story | American Assassin Author)
Geopolitical thriller author Vince Flynn died after years of battling prostate cancer. He was only 47 years old.
While his family and his readers would have wished he had more years in his life, Vince certainly packed a lot of life into his 47 years on this planet.
Vince had always been attracted to a life in the military, but as it turned out, Interlude into military life was just a detour that routed him to his ultimate calling journey fulfillment.
His military ambition failed when he was medically disqualified due to several concussions and seizures he suffered as a kid.
But Vince didn't let the failure be disqualified, derail him from digging deep and pursuing his calling journey. He understood failure rule number two nothing is safe. But his failure mutated into an adjacent dream.
That dream was to become a full-time fiction writer of Geopolitical spy thrillers. The story bubbling up in his mind involved an explorer turned CIA agent who he eventually called Mitch Rapp.
Mitch wasn't going to become a ring, but he was going to perpetuate that spirit in the hearts of his readers.

Memento Mori (The REMINDER YOU DESPERATELY NEED Now)
The ultimate manifestation of the truth of Failure Rule #2: Nothing Is Safe is your death. And it will visit you at its mysterious convenience, not your thoughtful appointment. So seize abundant living as much as possible before it shows up.
This Is the Reminder You Desperately Need Now: Memento Mori.
A little over a year ago, when I was approaching my forty-seventh birthday, I began to think about the years I have left. I knew that time was not my friend. So my internal spirit voice loudly urged me to get busy living and fulfill the visible next steps of my calling journey with haste.
In 2013 geopolitical thriller author Vince Flynn died after years of battling prostate cancer. He was only forty-seven. While his family and readers would’ve wished he had more years in his life, Vince packed a lot of life into his forty-seven years on this planet.
Vince’s origin story reveals a man who understood that time was not his friend. He was busy living right up until his untimely death. Vince was quoted around that time as saying:
“If you’re not busy living, you’re dying.”

How To DEAL WITH FAILURE?
Today we're discussing why fiction can sometimes be better than self-help books in times of crisis and unexpected cycles of despair. I'll share my experience during one of my darkest life seasons and how I found reading fiction books reinforced the badass inner stoic fire inside.

Self-help books help a lot of people but can be overrated. If read with the right interpretative mindset, fiction can be used for real-life applications in ways sometimes better than straightforward non-fiction self-help can enable.
These fiction books —spy novels— have helped me push through hard times into a better future.

Is Success LUCK or HARD WORK? (HONEST TRUTH)
Being about half a Mick, I’ve always been a fan of the saying: “If You’re Lucky Enough to Be Irish, You’re Lucky Enough.”
But what in our lives can we indeed attribute to pure luck? And then how do we then distinguish luck from predictable randomness or movements of Providence?
Is Success Luck or Hard Work? I'm going to share with you the Honest Truth in a minute
Well, I ain’t totally sure where these blurred lines exist and where clarity might be found, but one perspective I tend to give the most weight to is the idea that LUCK IS THE RESIDUE OF DESIGN. This, of course, means that much of what we casually call luck isn’t luck at all.
This concept is most attributable to the English poet John Milton—although no one can seem to validate this attribution—and then more widely to Wesley Branch Rickey, the manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers. They signed Jackie Robinson back in the 1940s.
Rickey himself was a man of design. He didn’t wait for some vague notion of luck to enter the orbit of his efforts. When Rickey hatched a vision, he followed through with decisive and strategic action.
Watch the whole video to learn how Luck Is the Residue of Design.
Do you agree that Luck Is the Residue of Design? Let me know why with a comment down below 👇

The MOST IMPORTANT Lesson In Life (Ft. Gary Vaynerchuk and Sailor ''Jerry” Collins)
Diligently live your life each day with your legacy in mind; let the clearing of failure’s purification be an opportunity to strategically rethink how you write the next chapter of your legacy’s story by learning the Most Important Lesson in Life.
Entrepreneur, author, and co-founder of Empathy Wines and VaynerX, Gary Vaynerchuk urges his followers to: “Please think about your legacy because you are writing it every day.”
- Gary Vaynerchuk
As you rise reborn from each of your failures, you will be given a new opportunity to shape your legacy many times. With each new reinvention, you can take the pen and lay fresh new ink on the story of your life that will convert you someday into your legacy. Plan now to think about this before Failure Rule #1: Failure Purifies sweeps into your life. Your legacy is too important to waste such fresh opportunities to write strategic plot shifts in your story.
Now, legacy is not important because you might care about preserving the spirit of your ego. Make no mistake: you will get pleasure and satisfaction in consciously thinking about and attempting to immortally codify your legacy, but that’s not why you need to value it.
You need to value your legacy and your effort to try to document or pass it on, for the benefit of others.
When you die, it won’t matter to you—at least on this side of eternity. No, you’ll be on the other side of eternity then. And then is when the benefit can residually live on for others—whether to a tight set of recipients within your family or to a wide swath of inheritors consuming what you leave behind through publicly available expressive output. Because a rightly cultivated and preserved legacy of value is a deliberate release of control.
You are just a conduit funneling what lasting value you’ve gained from life to future beneficiaries. The value you pass on then becomes a force multiplier of wisdom, knowledge, and a well-lived example.
We are often attracted to art—be it music, books, visual arts, film, audio, or other—when the content, delivery, and visceral contours of the art reveals an authentic story replete with not only the thrill of living but also the intrinsic agony of walking through the hard failure valleys of life. When Failure Rule #1 is in play, failure often purifies us down to a state that compels us, in the end, to tell our failure story.
THINK ABOUT YOUR LEGACY

Being AUTHENTIC or FAKE? 😳🪞(Jocko Willink)
''Whenever I face anything challenging, whenever anything. Sucks. I like it. I like it. It's going to make me tougher. It's going to give me a good story to tell. It's going to toughen my mind when something sucks good. So bring it.'' - Jocko Willink

Early Bird Vs Night Owl 🐣🦉 (THE TRUTH)
Get up early, and get a jump on the Day You've heard this message from so many in the personal development and inspiration space, but who is right between Early Bird Vs Night Owl?
Whether it's retired Navy Seal Jocko Whillink and its unveiling daily at 04:30 a.m. Wristwatch pics on Instagram or Stoic author Ryan Holiday asserting that if you win the morning, then you will win the day.
But not all of us work that way. Some of us don't thrive until nightfall. Some of us don't work best by getting a jump on the day but by stamping out the day and owning the night.
It's natural and easy to only associate productivity and industriousness with daylight hours. It's also easy to associate the night with rest, entertainment or play.
For many entrepreneurs and creatives, it is when the rest of the world checks out, turns off the lights, and goes silent that they light up and fall headfirst into extreme flow states.

How to GET RICH (Almanack of Naval Ravikant) 👉😳💰
In the Almanack of Naval Ravikant, there's one passage here that I want to focus on that really struck me.
Naval says code and media are permissionless leverage. They're the leverage behind the newly rich. You can create software and media that works for you while you sleep. This is the new way of becoming rich, right? This is new to the digital age. The New Way of How to Get Rich. This is new to the information age.
The notion of creating something that lives on a server that is viewed, listened to, used, what have you. However, you're going to leverage and monetize the use of code and media, and if it gains traction, can get some momentum, it can steadily make you money while you sleep.
Now, that's not easy, but it certainly is something that wasn't there for the old rich. It is there for the new rich. And it is the way to go.
So when I think about ways to make money or pursuits I'm looking at, this is something I think about. How can I leverage code and media to, at some point, make money while I sleep?

This Is What Makes EMPLOYEES HAPPY at WORK 😃✅ (BY RABBI DANIEL LAPIN)
Learn from By Rabbi Daniel Lapin What Makes Employees Happy at Work.
Thou Shalt Prosper by Rabbi Daniel Laffin. Everybody needs a rabbi. He talks about his health. We're not merely employees. We're actually all creators.
Specifically talking about the scenario where you might be an employee, and that might seem a kind of a limiting way to view yourself away from your employer, to view yourself.
I think this is vastly important. No matter what role you play in the economy and given a work scenario, you think of yourself as a creator. The actions that you take, the effort that you provide, and the things that you effectuate have so many ripple effects, positive ripple effects.
Your effort is not just for you to sit in your ass in a seat and get a paycheck. When you do things to help your company, whether you want it yourself or whether you're an employee, there is a ripple effect beyond you. There's the intent, and then there are the tangibles.
There's a visible, and then there's the invisible. But it's helpful to think about those, to understand your value and just going about your day, living in the workforce and participating in the economy.
Have You read Thou shalt prosper by Rabbi Daniel Laffin?

Embrace UNSAFE Spaces 😰💀 if You Want to Succeed ft. Johnny Cash
Sometimes your internal spirit voice will beckon the essence of Failure Rule #2: Nothing Is Safe to usher itself into your path—for your calling journey’s sake.
When your internal spirit voice is consistently heralding a path for you that defies the advice of those you love, it can cause deep conflict within you. This conflict, if poorly understood, can cause you to make decisions that invite unnecessary chaos and failure into your life. The incongruence of the soul can do that to a person.
When your life’s trajectory is pulling you away from the will of your internal spirit voice, detaching from that trajectory to deliberately align with your calling journey can be messy.
Johnny Cash's calling journey was full of messiness. For most of his life, he lived like he had a death wish.
In this video, you will learn that you need to Embrace Unsafe Spaces if You Want to Succeed, just as Johnny Cash did with his encounter with unsafe spaces throughout his life.
If you want to succeed like Johnny Cash then you must embrace unsafe spaces.

Elon Musk TELLS TESLA STAFF to Return to The Office, or Quit 😰
''They should pretend to work somewhere else'' This was what hyper entrepreneur and the newly crowned king of Twitter, Elon Musk, had to say when he was asked if he was serious about firing execs who insisted on continuing to work from home after Elon decreed that it had to end.
In Fact, Elon Musk Tells Tesla Staff to Return to The Office, or Quit.
Obviously, the work from the home debate has become front and center in the Pandemic era, and while I admire the stern, hard leader approach Elon takes here, to a very slight degree, I'd have to respectfully disagree with his assertion that those who desire to work from home are, in his words, lazy dog.
In-person knowledge work can sometimes produce the special alchemy of spontaneous ideation, but so does virtual work, and I would argue with no degradation to the potency of such ideation.
In-person or not, you have to constantly make yourself annual work products known in any organization. If you're not doing that, your managers and others will know this. So, Elon, I'm most definitely a fan, but on this topic, I have to walk away from the pound. I think work from home is here to stay, and I think it's mostly a good thing.

LIFE CHANGING ADVICE From The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*** 😳📙
In this video, you'll learn the Life Changing Advice from The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*** by Mark Manson.
I want to talk about a passage in his book So to Mark Manson's Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck. Mark says people want to start their own business, but you don't end up a successful entrepreneur unless you find a way to appreciate the risk, the uncertainty, the repeated failures, and insane hours devoted to something that may earn absolutely nothing.
This struck me because this is true. I think this is what so many people that are either aspiring entrepreneurs want to be entrepreneurs, are curious about entrepreneurship, don't really understand that you're looking at a black hole. And you got to love the process.
You got to love the chase as much as the hopeful catch. You got to be really comfortable with the idea of embracing the risk of uncertainty and not just the risk of failure, but the risk of wasting your time. So you have to make sure that what you're actually doing and chasing it pursues is valuable in and of itself, regardless of the outcome.

🔎 About Andrew Thorp King:
Andrew Thorp King is the author of FAILURE RULES!: The 5 Rules of Failure for Entrepreneurs, Creatives, and Authentics.
He's a fintech banker, spy novelist, speaker, punk rocker, ex-bodybuilder, cigar lover, tattoo enthusiast, and serial entrepreneur. He founded two independent record labels—Thorp Records and Sailor’s Grave Records—and has invested in many spaces including online lending, fitness, lead generation, and independent music.
He is also a serial failure. He's crashed and burned through bankruptcy, divorce, mortgage default, public assistance, and multiple business failures. But, he's like a jack-in-the-box, because after every punch life hits him with, he pops back up and rebuilds his life—informed by failure—with a big smile on his face.
At first, failure sucks. But if you follow the rules of failure—seeing beyond the mess and picking through the good stuff left in the rubble—you can move forward into success.
