Kill 'Em All is the debut studio album by American heavy metal band Metallica, released on July 25, 1983, through the independent label Megaforce Records. Metallica began by playing shows in local clubs in Los Angeles. They recorded several demos to gain attention from club owners and eventually relocated to San Francisco to secure the services of bassist Cliff Burton. The group's No Life 'til Leather demo tape (1982) was noticed by Megaforce label head Jon Zazula, who signed them and provided a budget of $15,000 for recording. The album was recorded in May with producer Paul Curcio at the Music America Studios in Rochester, New York. It was originally intended to be titled Metal Up Your Ass, with cover art featuring a hand clutching a dagger emerging from a toilet bowl. The band was asked to change the name because distributors feared that releasing an album with such an offensive title and artwork would diminish its chances of commercial success.
Metallica promoted the album on the two-month co-headlining Kill 'Em All for One tour with English heavy metal band Raven in the US. The album also generated two singles: "Whiplash" and "Jump in the Fire". Although the initial shipment was 15,000 copies in the US, the album sold 60,000 copies worldwide by the end of Metallica's Seven Dates of Hell European tour in 1984. The album did not enter the Billboard 200 until 1986, when it peaked at number 155, following Metallica's commercial success with its third studio album, Master of Puppets; the 1988 Elektra reissue peaked at number 120. Kill 'Em All was critically praised at the time of its release and has since been regarded as a groundbreaking album for thrash metal, because of its "precise musicianship, which fused new wave of British heavy metal riffs with hardcore punk tempos". It was also retrospectively placed on a few publications' best album lists. The album's musical approach and lyrics were markedly different from rock's mainstream of the early 1980s and inspired a number of bands who followed in a similar manner. It was certified 3× Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in 1999 for shipping three million copies in the United States.
Metallica was formed in 1981 in Los Angeles by drummer Lars Ulrich and by vocalist/rhythm guitarist James Hetfield. Before settling on a definitive lineup, Metal Blade Records owner Brian Slagel asked Metallica to record a song for the first edition of his Metal Massacre compilation. Hetfield and Ulrich chose "Hit the Lights" from Hetfield's and his childhood friend Ron McGovney's previous band Leather Charm, and recorded it with Hetfield on vocals, McGovney on bass, and temporary guitarist Lloyd Grant. The band's first lineup featured Hetfield, Ulrich, McGovney, and guitarist Dave Mustaine, who was acquired through a newspaper advertisement. The band practiced in McGovney's garage and looked for gigs at local clubs. Metallica's first show was on March 14, 1982, at the Radio City in Anaheim. The nine-song setlist consisted of two originals ("Hit the Lights" and an unfinished version of "Jump in the Fire" from Mustaine's earlier band Panic and covers of new wave of British heavy metal (NWOBHM) bands such as Diamond Head, Blitzkrieg, Savage, and Sweet Savage.

[Verse 1]
If ever words were spoken painful and untrue
I said I loved but I lied
In my life, all I wanted
Was the keeping of someone like you
As it turns out, deeper within me
Love was twisted and pointed at you
Never ending pain, quickly ending life
[Chorus]
You keep this love, thing, love, child, love, toy
You keep this love, fist, love, scar, love, break
You keep this love, love, love
You keep this love, love, love
You keep this love
[Verse 2]
I'd been the tempting one stole her from herself
This gift in pain, her pain was life
And sometimes I feel so sorry
I regret this the hurting of you
But you make me so unhappy
I'd take my life and leave love with you
I'd kill myself for you, I'd kill you for myself
[Chorus]
You keep this love, thing, love, child, love, toy
You keep this love, fist, love, scar, love, break
You keep this love, love, love
You keep this love, love, love
You keep this love
[Bridge]
No more head trips
[Guitar Solo]
[Chorus]
You keep this love, thing, love, child, love, toy
You keep this love, fist, love, scar, love, break
You keep this love, love, love

Vulgar Display of Power is the sixth studio album by American heavy metal band Pantera. Released on February 25, 1992 through Atco Records, it was the band's second collaboration with producer Terry Date, after having previously worked with him on their breakthrough album Cowboys from Hell (1990).
The album was well received by both critics and fans, and is Pantera's highest selling album to date and would eventually be certified double platinum.[5] It is often considered one of the most influential heavy metal albums of the 1990s.[6] In 2017, Rolling Stone ranked Vulgar Display of Power 10th on their list of 'The 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time'.[7] Several of its tracks have become among the band's best known, such as "Mouth for War", "A New Level", "Walk", "Fucking Hostile", and "This Love".
The band's 1990 major label debut, Cowboys from Hell,[8] demonstrated a change in their musical direction, from their 1980s material influenced by hard rock or glam metal bands like Van Halen and Kiss[9][10] to a new similarity to bands like Slayer, Metallica and Black Sabbath.[9][11]
In 1991, Pantera returned to Pantego Sound Studio to record their second release under Atco, Vulgar Display of Power.[12][13] The album was produced by Terry Date, who specializes in the rock and metal genres and had worked with the band on Cowboys from Hell. Date also went on to produce the band's following two albums, Far Beyond Driven (1994) and The Great Southern Trendkill (1996).[12][13] Before Date came in to work on the album, the band had demoed three tracks, "A New Level", "Regular People (Conceit)" and "No Good (Attack the Radical)".[12] The rest of the songs were written in the studio with little preproduction and demoing.[12]
After being in the studio for two months, Pantera were invited to open for Metallica and AC/DC at the 1991 Monsters of Rock free concert in Moscow, Russia's[12] Tushino airfield on September 28, 1991.[14][15] The band then returned to the studio to continue work on the album.[16] They travelled to New York City to master the album at Masterdisk.[17] Although guitarist Darrell Abbott was credited on the album with nickname "Diamond Darrell", during the recording of the album he had dropped that nickname and assumed "Dimebag Darrell", and bassist Rex Brown dropped the pseudonym "Rexx Rocker".[18]
Drummer Vinnie Paul said that Cowboys from Hell was really close to the "definitive Pantera sound".[19] When Metallica released their self titled album in 1991, Pantera considered it a letdown to fans because they believed Metallica abandoned the thrash metal sound heard in previous albums.[12][19] Pantera felt they had an opportunity and a gap to fill; they wanted to make the heaviest record of all time.[12][19]
The riff for "Walk" is played in a time signature of 12/8.[20] Darrell had played the riff during a soundcheck while Pantera was touring for Cowboys from Hell and the rest of the band loved it.[20] Following this tour, the band returned home and found that some friends thought that rock stardom had gone to their heads.[20]

Can't you see I'm easily bothered by persistence?
One step from lashing out at you
You want in to get under my skin and call yourself a friend
I've got more friends like you, what do I do?
[Pre-Chorus]
Is there no standard anymore?
What it takes, who I am, where I've been, belong
You can't be something you're not
Be yourself by yourself, stay away from me
A lesson learned in life
Known from the dawn of time
[Chorus]
Respect, walk
What did you say?
Respect, walk
Are you talkin' to me?
Are you talkin' to me?
[Verse 2]
Run your mouth when I'm not around, it's easy to achieve
You cry to weak friends that sympathize
Can you hear the violins playing your song?
Those same friends tell me your every word
[Pre-Chorus]
Is there no standard anymore?
What it takes, who I am, where I've been, belong

Forget the past, present tense works and lasts
Got shit on, pissed on, spit on, stepped on, fucked with

New life in place of old life
Unscarred by trials
[Chorus]
A new level

Hold your mouth for the war
Use it for what it's for
Speak the truth about me
Determined
[Verse 2]
Possessed, I feel a conquering will down inside me
Strength, the strength of many to crush who might stop me
My strength is in number and my soul lies in every one
The releasing of anger can better any medicine under the sun

The riff for "Walk" is played in a time signature of 12/8.[20] Darrell had played the riff during a soundcheck while Pantera was touring for Cowboys from Hell and the rest of the band loved it.[20] Following this tour, the band returned home and found that some friends thought that rock stardom had gone to their heads.[20]

Favorite Lick(s): 3:22
Favorite Lyrics: "Just enough to keep it together, never enough to make it work!" "We are a hailstorm of broken glass!" "Violence is not an aberration, it's a rule!"
This might be my favorite song on the album, but then again I say that about every song haha. Chris' drums are really nice on this track, lots of nice fills and kick drum patterns. The lick at 3:22 is one of my favorite licks of the album, I like kick drum pattern changes in this part; it sounds real groovy. Also I'm not too sure on what the lyrics are about but they sound real good! Enjoy!
🎤 Lyrics Start 🎤
[Verse 1]
The dirty lord of the manor
Surveys his filthy domain
Too many nights raising hell
Worked a little all too well
Constructed a monument
To denial and excess
Sunk so low, crawled so far back
There's nowhere left to regress
[Verse 2]
If these walls could talk
They would tell a horror story
Never-ending winter
Violence and infidelity
Shadows fall through broken panes
Careless words that are filled with hate
Just enough to keep it together
Never enough to make it work
All the tongues here are forked
We are a hailstorm of broken glass
Follow the path of least expectance
A huge stinking pile of sick
[Chorus]
Pile it higher and higher
Light the match, start the fire
Level this place until nothing's left
And take us with it
[Verse 3]
Surroundings are irate
Crack of dawn brings naught but pain
Resentment steadily grows
Laughing in the gallows
Full throttle determined to fail
Pedal to the metal, asleep at the wheel
We are the lucky ones
Welcome home
[Chorus]
Pile it higher and higher
Light the match, start the fire
Level this place until nothing's left
And take us with it
[Bridge]
Poisoned nerves and a bloody antidote
Violence is not an aberration, it's a rule
Dying beyond the pale
Your beatings will continue
Until my morale improves
I don't hate you
I'm just removing an enemy
Remorse is for the dead
[Outro]
I'm just removing an enemy
Remorse is for the dead, my enemy
Remorse is for the dead

Ashes of the Wake is the third studio album and first major-label release by American heavy metal band Lamb of God, released in 2004 via Epic Records. The album debuted at number 27 on the Billboard 200, selling 35,000 copies in its first week and was rated by Guitar World as the 49th greatest Guitar Album of all Time.[7] This album also was rated by Metal Hammer as the 5th greatest Metal Album of The 21st Century.[8] The album was inspired by the events that took place during the war in Iraq with songs such as "Ashes of the Wake" (which includes snippets of former Marine Staff Sergeant Jimmy Massey in an interview after his return from the Iraq War), "Now You've Got Something to Die For", "One Gun" and "The Faded Line". The quote at the beginning of "Omerta" is a paraphrase of the Sicilian Mafia's code of silence.[9] As of August 2010, Ashes of the Wake has sold 398,000 copies in the United States.[10] Ten years after its release, as of 2014, sales have topped 400,000 copies sold and is Lamb of God’s best-selling record.[11] The album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America in February 2016.[12]
The first pressing came with a bonus disc titled "Pure American Metal", including songs taken from the band's previous albums (Burn the Priest, New American Gospel and As the Palaces Burn), a live recording of the song "Black Label" from DVD Terror and Hubris, as well as a pre-production demo of the song "Laid to Rest".
The Japanese edition included a bonus song "Another Nail for Your Coffin" which was released worldwide in 2010 in a three-CD box set called Hourglass: The Anthology. The song was later included on the 15th anniversary edition of the album.
A DualDisc version was released in the United States. The DVD side contained the album in LPCM 2.0, and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound, as well as various video clips, including the promo videos for "Now You've Got Something to Die For" (intended to promote the Killadelphia release) and "Laid to Rest", a short on the New England Metalfest, a "Meet the Band" and a clip from the Terror and Hubris DVD. A production error in the 5.1 mix of "Break You" causes the vocals to pitch shift high and low throughout the song.
The album was generally well received; Blabbermouth.net gave it a 7 rating.[5] Johnny Loftus of AllMusic gave it a 4 out of 5 star rating.[4] He praised Blythe's vocals, saying they became, "Lamb of God's threshold of pain conduit."

Favorite Lick(s): 3:13 1:01 0:00
This song if any is the one for me that solidifies that this album is definitely about the war in Iraq. The first spoken word part is eerie to hear, those poor innocent civilians. The song starts out with a nice ass lick, chris' double bass skills are really nice here (like always hehe). The whole song is full of really nice licks, literally every one of them is (for me) dope as fuck. The drum fill at 1:21 is real nice. All the solo's are really good too, every one get's a chance to show their stuff. 3:13 is undoubtedly my favorite part, I still remember hearing it for the first time. Enjoy!
🎤 Lyrics Start 🎤
"We killed a lot of innocent civilians
To us, every civilian in Baghdad was a terrorist
They said 'These Fedayeen now in civilian clothes' that makes everybody free game
But if they came within our perimeter, we lit 'em up
And when we would pull the body out, and when we would search the car, we would find nothing
This took place time and time again. No harm, no foul, that's Okay, don't worry about it
Because this is a new type of war, this is an eradication."
[Guitar Solo: Mark Morton (1:31-1:55)]
[Guitar Solo: Alex Skolnick (1:56-2:57)]
[Guitar Solo: Chris Poland (3:45-4:14)]
[Guitar Solo: Willie Adler (4:46-5:21)]
"I honestly feel we're committing genocide over here
I don't believe in killing civilians, and I'm not going to kill civilians for the United States Marine Corps."

Favorite lyric(s): "Suffered consequence It's been so long since any piece of this Made any kind of sense."
Favorite lick(s): Probably the opening lick is my favorite 0:00, it's just so nice and thrashy!
This track comes in with a really nice thrashy lick. I think this song is about the nasty toll addiction can take on one. Also what addiction can do to someone after years of abuse, sad but true! I like how in the song it is explained that "it's a system now" as the addiction pattern has cemented itself, I know quite what that's like! Enjoy!
🎤 Lyrics Start 🎤
Blank stares from broken men
So withered from the poisons
They can't remember when
There were once honest reasons
It's all a lie, it died a hundred thousands miles ago
Pretending I'm still here
Justify
What I've become
Sanctify
What I've become
Amazing disgrace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
Better lost if this is found
Best blinded, never to see
The race to save face
Nothing now is what
We meant it to be
Pretending I'm still here
It's a system now
Intertwined
Take your place in the line to be ground by the gears of the masterpiece
Betrayal
Justify
What I've become
Sanctify
What I've become
Suffered consequence
It's been so long since any piece of this
Made any kind of sense
You anoint the king, I'll burn everything down to ashes
You giveth, I taketh away
You giveth, I taketh away
It's a system now
Intertwined
Take your place in the line to be ground by the gears of the masterpiece
Betrayal

Favorite lyric(s): "Suffer a self imposed exile" "Dark days lead to darker nights" These lyrics really resonate with me hehe.
Favorite lick(s): 0:00 the main lick of this song is nice as fuck. There are a lot of nice licks in this song lol.
Initially hearing this song I thought it was about someone Randy or one of the band members hated and wanted to beat the shit out of. After going over the lyrics some more I think the song is about politics (big surprise huh hehe). I think it might be about a certain corrupt politician that whoever wrote the lyrics hates and wants to break or beat up. Then again, Lamb's songs are hard to interpret (at least for me lol) so I could be completely wrong about what it's about lol. Enjoy!
🎤 Lyrics Start 🎤
Endless mornings cut by the dawn razor
Whipping the nightmares to a froth
Endless questions with no answers
No replacement for what's been lost
Lost
Everything suffocates in the dust of the past fortunes squandered
The empire of lies to whom you pandered
Suffer a self-imposed exile
Taste the bitter fruits of denial
In the presence of greatness
The humble can only bow
Frost on the breath of life
Empty of warmth or light
Full of nothing but deprivation
Frost on the breath of life
Empty of warmth or light
For an eternal winter
Tell me a lie with the best of intentions
Mute in the age of mass communication
Dark days lead to darker nights
Frozen, out of time
Id dies for blessed ego, the once mighty laid low
Frost on the breath of life
Empty of warmth or light
Full of nothing but deprivation
Full of nothing but deprivation
Eternal winter
Full of nothing but deprivation
Eternal winter
You taught me hate, I'll teach you fear
Open the eyes, kill despair
You tried to squeeze the life from me
Son of a bitch, I'm going to break you
Son of a bitch, I'm going to break you

This song is definitely political (in my opinion hehe) and I feel is about how much bullshit dying in war is or something lol. The lyrics are hard to interpret but are very fun to try and do so. 3:20 is real nice god damn that kick drum sounds good. Enjoy!

The sins of deliverance
The eyes of the patriot fixed through the scope
The unknowing tyrant walks to the rope
It's when murder is justice that martyrs are made
A one gun salute for the new independence day
They'll hallow your name
They'll hallow your name for your sacrifice
The sins of deliverance
So let the wicked perish in the presence of God
For your sacrifice
The sins of the father
Atoned by the son
Confessions of commitments broken
A nail driven for every one
It's when murder is justice that martyrs are made
A one gun salute for the new independence day
They'll hallow your name
They'll hallow your name for your sacrifice
You are the cause, I am the effect
Created in hatred, a noose for your neck
The eyes of the patriot fixed through the scope
The unknowing tyrant walks to the rope
They'll hallow your name
For your sacrifice
They'll hallow your name
Sacrifice

This one comes out swingin and thrashin like a motha fucka (with a pretty nice lick if I may say.) In terms of interpreting what the song is about.... hmmmm..... Lamb makes it hard (for me at least) to understand wtf they're talking about, but that's why they're so good! Part of me feels it has something to so with corruption in religion, another part thinks its addiction. The lyrics make me think it's about someone or some organization overstepping their boundaries thinking they can get away with it, and this song is what happens in the aftermath. I could be completely wrong but that's my opinion haha. 3:02 man those toms (as well as the whole band) sound so god damn smooth! The spoken word part with the buildup into 3:30 is fucking beautiful and the rest of the song is heavy as a motha fucka Jesus Christ. Enjoy!
🎤 Lyrics Start 🎤
[Verse 1]
All of this comes crashing down
Cornerstone's gone
Sleepless, hopeless
No end in sight
[Verse 2]
Ink well has run dry
Fill it with blood of the scribe
[Bridge]
Rest comes easy to the guiltless
The vampire laments as he prays for the sun
[Verse 3]
Doom, despair, tragedy are the tools of the trade
[Chorus]
Cut to the bone, rob the grave
Unearth the stone, lay to waste
Defile the tome, rip the page
Strip mine the vein, lay to waste
[Verse 4]
Frayed at the edge, flat lined
The anvil cracks, the hammer
Relentlessly comes down
A new pariah is born
[Chorus]
Cut to the bone, rob the grave
Unearth the stone, lay to waste
Defile the tome, rip the page
Strip mine the vein, lay to waste
[Bridge]
Chastisement lays you down to sleep
Tucks you in with bloody kisses
Gifts of nightmares bitter sweet
[Verse 5]
Type A negative shuts me down
Catchphrase will be the death of me
Is this not what you came to see?
What, are you not entertained?
[Outro]
Climb the walls 'til nails bleed
Rip the hair, tear the seams
Break the glass, head in hands
Bell tolls endlessly, no end in sight

I really like the intro on this one. The double bass pattern and the cymbal on the 'and' of every beat sounds really nice (Chris you're a beast!). I feel this song is about addiction and someone being mad as fuck at the person they think caused the addiction. "Cursed crawl of time" man that's some genius shit in describing life (in my opinion of course hehe). Also "Silence, the only promise ever kept" is fucking nice haha. The breakdown part at 1:48 really drives hard and hits like a motha fucka. The solo over it is fucking dope too, it sounds like some Egyptian shit haha! The verse after the breakdown part is what makes me think (or know) that this one is about severe addiction. As well as the outro explaining that it's fucking hopeless, for anyone who's dealt with addiction knows the feeling! Enjoy!

It's fucking hopeless
Accusations and denial
Hopeless
Demon of another day
Colorless
Stoned, solid gray
Emptiness
Of promises I made
So faithless
The tenants long betrayed
Walk the faded line, cursed crawl of time
Silence, the only promise ever kept
Familiar touch
A ritual to numb the cut
Salvation in vice
Anguish is realizing what could have been but never was
It's emptiness that fills the cup
Devotion in the method of my fall
Pointless
Futility continuing
Endless
Flowing corrupted vein
Walk the faded line, cursed crawl of time
Walk the faded line, cursed crawl of time
Silence, the only promise ever kept
It's fucking hopeless
Hopeless
Hopeless
It's fucking hopeless
Hopeless

This one comes out with a really nice lick and groovy kick drum pattern (I can see why they're classified as groove metal hehe). I still remember the first time hearing Lamb and this song (about 6 years ago lol) and just being kind of dumbfounded by what I'd heard. Also too I remember not being really able to interpret or make out the lyrics but I knew it was some dark shit haha. I was also dumbfounded by the lyrics of Lamb, they still amaze me to this day. 2:22 is definitely my favorite part..... BURN! Haha I could go on forever enjoy!
🎤 Lyrics Start 🎤
[Intro]
Now you've got something to die for
Now you've got something to die for
Infidel, Imperial
Lust for blood, a blind crusade
Apocalyptic, we count the days
[Verse 1]
Bombs to set the people free
Blood to feed the dollar tree
Flags for coffins on the screen
Oil for the machine
Army of liberation
Gunpoint indoctrination
The fires of sedition
Fulfill the prophecy
[Chorus]
Now you've got something to die for
Now you've got something to die for
[Verse 2]
Send the children to the fire
Sons and daughters stack the pyre
Stoke the flame of the empire
Live to lie another day
Face of hypocrisy,
Raping democracy
Apocalyptic
We count the days
Oh!
[Bridge]
We'll never get out of this hole
Until we've dug our own grave
And drag the rest down with us
The burning home of the brave
Burn
[Chorus]
Now you've got something to die for
Now you've got something to die for

This song comes out swinging for sure, the intro lick is real nice. In terms of interpreting the lyrics I'm pretty sure it has something do with the corruption of government and war. One of my favorite parts of Lamb's music is their lyrics and lyrics schemes, so insightful and fun to try and interpret! 1:02 is real nice and really drives the song forward. Also Lamb's spoken word parts are unique to them and always fits the song well. 2:08 is a really good lick, I don't know how they do it god damn! Enjoy!

[Verse 1]
Privileged, a chosen few
Blessed with our time in hell
Witness a divine vision
The day we all fell still
Rapture of the dying age
Our shattered hourglass
Wrath of the warring gods
And so this too shall pass
[Verse 2]
It's only getting worse
Not worth a moment's regret
Each dawn another curse
Every breath a twisting blade
What will be left behind in the ashes of the wake?
[Verse 3]
An ill wind blows this way
The edge of the envelope burns
Forbearance and my vengeance
Payment for your intent
Fear and death in the wings
In thrall of those fallen from grace
Petty is as petty does
Witness the mass disgrace
[Bridge]
Fear and death in the wings
In thrall of those fallen from grace
Petty is as petty does
Witness the mass disgrace
[Verse 4]
God forbid you read the signs
Watch for meanings between the lines
Gehenna has now arrived
No hindsight for the blind
Your trust has been misplaced
Believed the lies told to your face
Became another casualty and
Now it's too late
[Verse 5]
You finally made it home
Draped in the flag that you fell for
And so it goes
The ashes of the wake
[Outro]
It's only getting worse
It's only getting worse
It's only getting worse
It's only getting worse
It's only getting worse

Finally at the end of the album and Raining Blood is a fantastic way to end it haha. I like the eerie into with the thunder and rain, it makes me really think of a scenario of raining blood haha. The intro(s) licks are really nice, everyone knows what song and band it is upon hearing the opening lick (in my opinion of course). The lyrics are really good too, it also paints a picture in my head of someone who is in deep trouble and is about to get done in haha. The 2:00 mark is definitely a universal headbanging moment haha and the notes that are played on top of it are nice too. The solo sounds about how it should being Slayer haha which is a good thing! The outro is just pure chaos haha and fits really nicely, I could go on forever lol. Enjoy!

[Verse]
Trapped in purgatory
A lifeless object, alive
Awaiting reprisal
Death will be their acquittance
The sky is turning red
Return to power draws near
Fall into me, the sky's crimson tears
Abolish the rules made of stone
[Bridge 1]
Pierced from below, souls of my treacherous past
Betrayed by many, now ornaments dripping above
[Bridge 2]
Awaiting the hour of reprisal
Your time slips away
[Bridge 3]
Raining blood
From a lacerated sky
Bleeding its horror
Creating my structure
Now, I shall reign in blood

Slayer - Postmortem (Lyrics on Screen Video 🎤🎶🎸🥁)
This one is definitely in the top 3 for this album (such a hard choice hehe). It has one of my favorite intros on the album, the lick at 0:23 is just too nasty haha. This is one of those songs where the transitions and licks fit together so well it's hard to say anything bad about it. I like how it incorporates a little bridge part and then goes right back into that awesome lick. Another favorite part of mine is around 3:00 where Tom goes.... "Do you wanna die!?" haha really funny. Also around 3:16 that snare hit is very cool sounding and really accents the "I'm only after death!" part. This is a very good song lol. Enjoy!
🎤 Lyrics Start 🎤
[Verse 1]
Funeral held for the depression of man
Holds the key to his own death
Entering a tomb of a corpse yet conceived
Tighten the tourniquet around your neck
Sifting away the debris of hated life
Cold touch of death begins to chill your spine
Seeking life beyond your perishment
Repeating words echoing through your mind
[Verse 2]
Chanting lines of blind witchery
To save yourself from extinction
Wanting to die is your reason to live
New life born from the oppressed
Taste your blood as it trickles through the air
Another casualty, beyond the shadows you fall
Losing ground, the fate you feel draws near
Fatality, reality, await the final call
[Instrumental Break]
[Verse 3]
My sinful glare at nothing holds thoughts of death behind it
Skeletons in my mind commence tearing at my sanity
Vessels in my brain carrying death until my birth
Come and die with me forever, share insanity
Do you wanna die?!
[Verse 4]
The waves of blood are rushing near, pounding at the walls of lies
Turning off my sanity, reaching back into my mind
Non-rising body from the grave showing new reality
What I am, what I want, I’m only after death

Reign in Blood is the third studio album by American thrash metal band Slayer, released on October 7, 1986, by Def Jam Recordings.[1] The album was the band's first collaboration with producer Rick Rubin, whose input helped the band's sound evolve. The release date of the album was delayed because of concerns regarding the lyrical subject matter of the opening track "Angel of Death", which refers to Josef Mengele and describes acts such as human experimentation that he committed at the Auschwitz concentration camp.[2] The band's members stated that they did not condone Nazism and were merely interested in the subject.[3]
Reign in Blood was well received by both critics and fans, and was responsible for bringing Slayer to the attention of a mainstream metal audience. Today, it is often mentioned among the greatest heavy metal records ever. In their 2017 listing of the 100 Greatest Metal albums of all time, Rolling Stone magazine ranked "Reign in Blood" at #6.[4] Alongside Anthrax's Among the Living, Megadeth's Peace Sells... but Who's Buying?, and Metallica's Master of Puppets, Reign in Blood helped define the sound of the emerging US thrash metal scene in the mid-1980s, and has remained influential since. The album was Slayer's first to enter the US Billboard 200, peaking at number 94, and was certified Gold on November 20, 1992. In 2013, NME ranked it at number 287 in its list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.[5]
Following the positive reception Slayer's previous release Hell Awaits had received, the band's producer and manager Brian Slayer realized the band were in a position to hit the "big time" with their next album. Slayer negotiated with several record labels, among them Rick Rubin and Russell Simmons' Def Jam Recordings. However, Slayer was reluctant to have the band signed to what was at the time primarily a hip hop label. Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo was made aware of Rubin's interest, and he initiated contact with the producer. However, Slayer's remaining members were apprehensive of leaving Metal Blade Records, with whom they were already under contract.[6]
Lombardo contacted Columbia Records, which was Def Jam's distributor, and managed to get in touch with Rubin, who along with photographer Glen E. Friedman agreed to attend one of the band's concerts.

The intro on this one is real nice, the little drum fill is a great way to start the song. The intro lick is one of my favorite from the entire album, pure thrash! 1:10 is also a very nice lick and is one of my favorites of the album. The lyric scheme is hard for me to interpret compared to others. Of course it's about an epidemic of some kind, the lyrics are quite advanced haha. 1:36 is a really nice part too letting the song breathe for a little while. This has to be in my top 3 for the album, very great thrash song. I also like how the song ends with a drum fill too haha. Enjoy!

This one comes out like most of the others haha (swinging lol). Right into the thrash beat and fast lyrics. I think this song is about someone who is imprisoned but knows he will be reborn so is not worried about it. Also that the person imprisoned will have his revenge on the one who put him there. The lyrics are pretty fast on this one it sounds like Tom is rapping haha, it's good! Enjoy!

[Verse 1]
Convicted witch, my life will end
At midnight on the stake
My dedicated life was spent
To insubordinate
Secured, by lock, inside a cell
Imprisoned for no crime
These shackles will be useless
When your life is out of time
[Chorus 1]
Incantation spell gone by
I'll see life again
My deals were made eternally
I signed the book of red
My rage will be unleashed again
Burning the next morn
Death means nothing, there's no end
I will be reborn
[Verse 2]
No gift of exile in my fate
I'll get no amnesty
I can't control my destiny
There is no habitual need
Proclaim my death, to end my wrath
It takes more than one try
Indulge your ineffective curse
I will never die
[Chorus 2]
You think by killing me tonight
My powers will not rise
There'll be nowhere for you to run
When hatred comes to life
Condemned to fill the prophecy
Allowing no first born
Defy your morbid declaration
Leave you ripped and torn
[Lead: Hanneman]
[Verse 3]
Count your blessing, would-be priest
As I burn upon the stake
You'd be forgiven endlessly
But your values are all fake
Forever servant of my Lord
By choice and not submission
Maybe now I've made you wonder
Am I superstitious?
[Chorus 1]
Incantation spell gone by
I will live again
My deals were made eternally
I signed the book in red
My rage will be unleashed again
And burning the next morn
Death means nothing, there's no end
I will be reborn

The intro on this one is real nice with the 16th notes on the ride and just a fat beat, kind of reminds me of 'When the Levee Breaks' in a way. 1:41 is my favorite lick. The first is tricky it makes me think it will go into a chorus but goes into another verse part. Also the way Tom says 'WAY' at 0:45 is kind of funny haha. The lyric scheme makes me think Tom is planning on killing someone or doing something bad to someone haha. The solo is nice and shreddy then goes back into the fat beat with a nice lick. The last verse makes me think of someone who has been marked 'criminally insane' and is waiting to have his revenge. Enjoy!

In 2013, NME ranked it at number 287 in its list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.[5]
Following the positive reception Slayer's previous release Hell Awaits had received, the band's producer and manager Brian Slagel realized the band were in a position to hit the "big time" with their next album. Slagel negotiated with several record labels, among them Rick Rubin and Russell Simmons' Def Jam Recordings. However, Slagel was reluctant to have the band signed to what was at the time primarily a hip hop label.
Friedman had produced Suicidal Tendencies's self-titled debut album, in which Slayer vocalist Tom Araya made a guest appearance in the music video for the album's single "Institutionalized", pushing Suicidal Tendencies's vocalist Mike Muir. Around this time, Rubin asked Friedman if he knew Slayer.[6]
Guitarist Jeff Hanneman was surprised by Rubin's interest in the band, and was impressed by his work with the hip hop acts Run DMC and LL Cool J. During a visit by Slagel to a European music convention, Rubin spoke with the band directly, and persuaded them to sign with Def Jam.

Favorite part is at 0:42. This one comes out swinging in a slower way haha. I like how they switched up the intro from a typical thrash beat to this more 'doomy' 'heavy' beat. The song then goes into a weird time signature part and then into the main lick of the verse with a nice transition. I feel the lyric scheme is Tom calling out all of Christianity's fallacies and how false he feels they are. You can tell Tom is really passionate about what he believes in and won't stop haha. Enjoy!

[Instrumental Intro]
[Verse 1]
You go to the church, you kiss the cross
You will be saved at any cost
You have your own reality, Christianity
You spend your life just kissing ass
A trait that's grown as time has passed
You think the world will end today
You praise the Lord, that's all you say
[Chorus 1]
Jesus saves
Listen to you pray
You think you'll see the pearly gates when Death takes you away
[Verse 2]
For all respect, you cannot lust
In an invisible man you place your trust
Indirect dependency
Eternal attempt at amnesty
He will decide who lives and dies
Depopulate, Satanic rise
You will be an accessory
Irreverence and blasphemy
[Lead: King]
[Chorus 2]
Jesus saves
No need to pray, the gates of pearl have turned to gold
It seems you've lost your way
[Lead: Hanneman]
[Outro]
Jesus saves
No words of praise, no promised land to take you to
There is no other way.

"Christians here are criticized for blindly adhering to religious norms. The song isn’t anti-religious, but rather a rebuke of normative religious behavior. They’re chastising Christians who expect to be saved by going through the motions.
It’s important to note that Tom Araya is a practicing Catholic."
"There are many Biblical passages that encourage believers to pray for the end-times and to be watchful of its coming. One such passage is below.
But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch."
Reign in Blood is regarded by critics as one of the most influential and extreme thrash metal albums.[9] In its "Greatest Metal Bands Of All Time" poll, MTV praised Slayer's "downtuned rhythms, infectious guitar licks, graphically violent lyrics and grisly artwork," which they stated "set the standard for dozens of emerging thrash bands," while "Slayer's music was directly responsible for the rise of death metal." MTV described Reign in Blood as essential listening,[37] and the album was ranked number 7 on IGN's "Top 25 Most Influential Metal Albums".[38]

Slayer - Altar Of Sacrifice (Lyrics on Screen Video 🎤🎶🎸🥁)
This one (like all the others on this album hehe) comes out thrashing and bashing. 1:29 is a good part. I feel this song is about someone who is about to be sacrificed to or for Satan. 0:55 is a nice lick and part. You can tell Slayer is really hungry this whole album, every song is great. The solo's remind me of something you would hear in hell, twisted sound! 2:15 is a nice lick too. I'm really glad to be doing this album finally haha. Enjoy!

[Verse 1]
Waiting the hour destined to die
Here on the table of hell
A figure in white, unknown by man
Approaching the altar of death
High priest awaiting, dagger in hand
Spilling the pure virgin blood
Satan's slaughter, ceremonial death
Answer his every command
[Verse 2]
Death will come easy, just close your eyes
Dream of the friends, you'll see
Heavenly failure, losing again
Move on to a new form of life
[Chorus]
Altar of sacrifice, curse of the damned
Confronting the evil you dread
Coalesce into one your shadow and soul
Soon you will meet the undead
[Lead: Hanneman]
[Chorus]
Altar of sacrifice, curse of the damned
Confronting the evil you dread
Coalesce into one your shadow and soul
Soon you will meet the undead
[Bridge]
Enter to the realm of Satan!
[Lead: King]
[Verse 3]
Blood turning black, the change has begun
Feeling the hatred of all damned in Hell
Flesh starts to burn, twist and deform
Eyes dripping blood, realization of death
Transforming of five toes to two
Learn the sacred words of praise, Hail Satan
[Lead: King]
[Verse 4]
A gift of powers disposed upon you
Use them when you feel the need
Master the forces and powers of Satan
Controlling the creature's instinct
Drawn to the castles that float in the sky
Learn to resist the temptation
Watching the angels sift through the heavens
Endlessly searching for salvation
[Lead: King]

“Table of Hell”, a metal way to say “Altar”, the place of the sacrificial.
An altar is a structure upon which offerings such as sacrifices are made for religious purposes. In this case, the victim is being sacrificed to join Satan in hell. This painting depicts the sacrifice of Iphigenia, painted by Italian rococo painter Corrado Giaquinto in the 17th-century.
The demonic killer beacons you to join Satan in hell. Hell is normally depicted as a fiery inferno, and according to some religions, including Christianity and Islam, hell is an eternal destination. A painting by Dutch painter Jacob van Swanenburg depicting hell called The Harrowing of Hell.
This verse depicts the victim, now in hell, transforming into a demon. His blood turns black, and he feels the hatred of hell. His body is being deformed and burned with extreme pain. He learns the sacred words of Satan, and he now obeys him. This could refer to Baphomet, the sacred worshiping of Satan.

And again this one really comes out swinging, it kind of trick you into thinking the intro will go into a transition but just starts thrashing away. The lyric scheme really paints a picture (for me at least) of someone who is getting tortured to death, well done Tom! 0:47 is a nice part that let's the song breathe, and then they go into a crazy thrashy solo lol. The notes at 1:15 are really funny and sound kind of out of place but it works really well haha. Enjoy!

Strangulation, mutilation, cancer of the brain
Limb dissection, amputation from a mind deranged
Asphyxiation, suffocation, gasping for air
Explain to me the feeling after sitting in the chair
Ripping apart, severing flesh
Gouging eyes, tearing limb from limb
Experimentation, slow infection, internal decay
Execution, need transfusion, body rots away
Sliced incision, zero vision, loss of vital signs
Skin contortion, bone erosion, your life becomes your fine
Ripping apart, severing flesh
Gouging eyes, tearing limb from limb

Asphyxiation, suffocation, gasping for air

Sliced incision, zero vision, loss of vital signs
Skin contortion, bone erosion, your life becomes your fine
Necrophobic, can't control the paranoia
Scared to die.

Asked during a press tour for 1994's Divine Intervention about the pressure of living up to Reign in Blood, King replied that the band did not try to better it, but just wanted to make music.[6] In 2006, Blabbermouth's Don Kaye drew a comparison to the band's 2006 album Christ Illusion, and concluded, "Slayer may never make an album as incendiary as Reign in Blood again."[39]

This song comes out banging as usual haha (it's Slayer hehe). This song (for me) illustrates someone who is in hell or is in a very undesirable place and is about to be torn apart limb by limb. I like that it's a short song but it packs a god damn punch! Also I like how Tom says "There's only one way out of here!" at the end haha it sounds so genuine. Although pretty new to this album I see why it is regarded as one of their best! Enjoy!

🎤 Lyrics 🎤
[Chorus]
Modulistic terror
A vast sadistic feast
The only way to exit
Is going piece by piece
[Verse 1]
You have no choice of life or death
My face you will not see
I'll rip your flesh 'till there's no breath
Dismembered destiny
[Pre-Chorus 1]
As soon as life has left your corpse
I'll make you part of me
No emotion
Death is all I see
[Chorus]
Modulistic terror
A vast sadistic feast
The only way to exit
Is going piece by piece
[Verse 2]
Bones and blood lie on the ground
Rotten limbs lie dead
Decapitated bodies found
On my wall, your head
[Pre-Chorus 2]
On your trail, I close the gap
One more life that soon won't be
No emotion
Flesh is all I need
[Bridge]
I'll send you to your maker
Confront the God you seek
A flash of red upon your chest
Safety out of reach
[Verse 1]
You have no choice of life or death
My face you will not see
I'll rip your flesh 'till there's no breath
Dismembered destiny
[Chorus]
Modulistic terror
A vast sadistic feast
There's only one way out of here
Piece by piece

A module is, in this case, a body part.
Normal human beings react with horror at the sight of a dismembered corpse.
A sadist is someone who gets pleasure from inflicting pain on others.
The speaker, who is clearly a total sadist, screams that he is going to feast on seeing the fear of his victims. They will be dismembered alive – and their only escape, he jokes, is death.
This sadistic creature wishes to rip your flesh to shreds until you feel no breathing, a cannibalistic destiny to dismember a human being. A Greek myth about cannibalism is the Titan Cronus who eats his own children, fearing they would overthrow him. This is called filicide.
This sadistic and extremely dangerous character is a flesh-eating, cannibalistic monster who only wishes to see death and flesh before his eyes. This being is likely a demon from hell, or a crazy psychopath.
Araya is hunting people. Much like people do in The Most Dangerous Game.
The guy who eat “you” is probably pagan. So “you” may refer to a christian (or a monoteist who belive in an unique “maker”).
This is again a critic of catholic religion.
