Derek Prince Testimony From Shaping History Through Prayer and Fasting Told by John Hagee Sermon. So lets listen to a short summary of this Derek Prince story by John Hagee who was close friends with Derek and spoke at his funeral. After the clip I will expand on the story a bit more because Hagee only gives a quick version of the story. From 1949 to 1956, Derek was pastor of a congregation in London, England. He retained a special interest in God’s dealings with the Jewish people since he lived in Israel and was present at the birth of this nation. Early in 1953, he received information from reliable sources that Josef Stalin, who at the time ruled the Soviet Union as an unchallenged dictator, was planning a systematic purge directed against the Russian Jews. As he meditated on this situation, the Lord reminded him of Paul’s exhortation to the gentile Christians concerning the Jews: (2 Corinthians 10:3-5 NKJV). For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ Somehow, he felt that God was laying at his door the responsibility to pray for the Jews in Russia. Derek shared his feelings with the leaders of a few small prayer groups, in various parts of Britain, who also had a special concern for the Jews. So, they decided to set aside one day for special prayer and fasting on behalf of the Russian Jews. Derek doesn’t recall the exact date. All the members of their groups voluntarily committed themselves to abstain from food that day and to devote special time to prayer for God’s intervention on behalf of the Jews in Russia. Their congregation met that evening for group prayer devoted primarily to that topic. Then something that would change the course of history happened. You do not want to miss this testimony. They said nothing special happened that day. But within two weeks from that day, the course of history inside Russia was changed by one decisive event: the death of Stalin. He was seventy-three years old. No advance warning of his sickness or impending death was given to the Russian people. Up to the last moment, sixteen of Russia’s most skilled doctors fought to save his life, but in vain. The cause of death was said to be a brain hemorrhage. Stalin was dead at the hands of praying Christians. Let it be clearly stated that no member of any of Derek’s groups prayed for the death of Stalin. They simply committed the situation inside Russia to God, and trusted His wisdom for the answer that was needed. Nevertheless, Derek was convinced that God’s answer came in the form of Stalin’s death. The reason why i shared this story is because we live in times of great distress and wars, and rumors of wars. We don't have to just sit back and take it. Andy Stanley Unconditional Conference with LBGTQ Controversy Part 2. This sermon will cover Andy Stanley's sermon "I Love My Church" at his church Northpoint Community Church on October 1st 2023 after the controversy from his Unconditional Conference 2023. He aimed to help Christian parents who have LBGTQ children. The conference was led by Greg and Lynn McDonald, who are founders of Embracing the Journey, a ministry birthed from their experience with having a gay child. According to the conference’s website, the MacDonalds “are passionate about helping parents embrace their journey where true healing can occur.” They use their two decades of “firsthand experience” to coach and counsel Christian parents with LGBTQ+ children. This caused Albert Mohler Southern Baptist Theological Seminary president to criticize Stanley on his podcast. He was critical because Andy invited two gay men as speakers at the event. The speakers were Justin Lee and Brian Nietzel, whom Stanley described as “two married gay men” who are also “Christ-followers today.” They were invited to speak—and had spoken at previous North Point Church gatherings. By being in such a union, Lee and Nietzel are living in ongoing, unrepentant disobedience to Christ. Andy Stanley seemed to defend this decision making it worse. Ask Dr Brown or Michael Brown also made calls on Andy to repent and make his views clear. He said Andy refused to do so for several years. Andy Stanley sermon did stand for biblical values which is a step in the right direction. He stated that biblical marriage is between a man and a woman, he said, noting that every New Testament text addressing homosexuality teaches that it is a sin. “It was a sin then,” Stanley said, “and it is a sin now.” He said his church has always stood for the ethics laid forth in the New Testament on sex and marriage. And that sex should only happen in the context of marriage. He affirmed passages in the bible such as: Romans 1, 1 Corinthians 6, and 1 Timothy 1. I commended Andy for standing for biblical truth. For having a great heart of compassion. And for him be willing to take on the LBGTQ conversation. But as Ask Dr Brown states: "We have have hearts of compassion but backbones of steel". Andy has the heart of compassion. But he seems to have lost some degree of standing for the truth at face value. Andy said that Jesus drew circles and included everyone. Where many in Christianity today draw lines of exclusion. I think Jesus wants all to come to him. We should come as we are. But God doesn't want to to stay as we are. We are supposed to come up to his level. There seemed to be hints in Andy's sermon that he didn't think gay people could change and possibly they are born that way. However homosexuality is no different then any other sin. We can turn from that sin and be healed by Jesus. I questioned Andy bringing two gay man to the conference as speakers. I think he could have used some people who have come out of the lifestyle and are on the other side of the journey I gave an example of ministry that that helps people get healing and come out of the lifestyle to go into heterosexual relationships. Justin Peters Ministries Tweet on Prophetic Ministry Breaks the Internet and shockingly i agree with him. Justin Peters posted something about the prophetic movement on twitter And it broke Twitter. The tweet was seen over 112K times. And i actually have to agree with him on this one. I am not a big Justin Peters fan. I find him to be over critical especially of the charismatic movement. He seems to genuinely love God. At the same time it seems like he has a watch dog or discernment ministry. Their is a tendency to only listen to voices from our particular stream of christianity. This is dangerous and creates a echo chamber. Were we are only hearing things that go with our world view. The prophetic movement went off the track during the last few years. We see this with Covid19 and the elections. They were all wrong. And very few repented. The prophetic ministry needs a reset. We need to get back to solid orthodoxy. Reading the bible and prayer. Character over gifting. And spending time with God daily. So we can discern his voice accurately. Derek Prince often said in Elijah's time there was a total of 1,200 prophets in the whole book. And only 2 real prophets. Elijah and Micaiah. He said the odds aren't much different today. Possible even worse and I agree. Please no comments on Touch not the Lord anointed. That is the most misused verse in the whole bible. And it refers on trying to remove someone in power. I am not trying to do that. We should also test prophecy. Because god commands us to do so. And if we don't we will be held accountable. If we don't test prophecy we will end up despising it because it will get flakey and lack credibility. God tells us in his world not to despise prophecy. Inner Healing Sermon with Inner Healing Prayer at the end of the video. In 2018 i went to Israel with John Paul Jacksons ministry which is called streams ministries. I met a woman and ended up doing some inner healing with her. Then she has a dream. In the dream she was taking authority over different spirits. She was loudly and strongly. Rebuking spirits of fear, anxiety and worry. She was saying i rebuke you anxiety. I rebuke you fear. And she was saying it over and over again. Well in the dream suddenly appeared John Paul Jackson. And he started to tell Anna to stop. But Anna kept going. He then pleaded with her to stop. And he said Anna these issues are more like mold. Stop rebuking these spirits right now. The dream meant her inner healing issues has to be treated as you would treat mold. Mold in houses must be exposed to air over long time periods to be dried out. Modern day word of faith ministries or deliverance ministries would simple pray for the issue to be resolved right away. And God can heal things on the spot at times. But the majority of the time we works in process. Many charismatics think that things will be healed with little effort on our part. This is where inner healing and deliverance must go hand and hand. And most of the times more inner healing then deliverance. Why because Demons cling to wounds. Demons cling to emotional issues. Because they target weakness. But the strength isn't the demons. They have to obey the name of Jesus The strength is the wound that keeps the demons there. I posted a clip from Derek Prince. And he said after many years in deliverance ministry. He realized he was only dealing with surface wounds. He wasn't addressing the deeper issues (root issues). I learned this is emotionally Healthy Spirituality. The concept of the Iceberg. Only 10% of the iceberg in visible to the human eyes. The other 90% lies beneath the surface and you can't see. So it is the same thing with the human soul. Most of it lies deep within us. And modern day churches only really address the 10% you can see. So we have all the people attending church. But no one is going deep. This is where you need inner healing and deliverance training. This is inner healing christian Richard Foster said this in the Celebration of Discipline: "Superficiality is the curse of our age. The doctrine of instant satisfaction is a primary spiritual problem. The desperate need today is not for a greater number of intelligent people, or gifted people but for deep people." We have to move beyond surface living and go deep. So what does this healing look like in reality. It means that this problem is more like mold. Our problems are not going to go away right away. It need exposure to the the air. And our soul need exposure to the transformative power of Gods love. And Gods presence. And we have to dip in it. Like a tea bag in hot water. I ended the video reading an excerpt from the book Soul Care From Rob Reimer. He talks about a moment in his marriage where he was going through great anxiety and nothing would relieve it. God had him sit with him in silence over many months in his 'restorative presence". After many months of sitting with God alone in silence he was healed of the anxiety. Derek Prince explains the word Rapture used in the bible and particularly the New Testament will happen in the end times. This word rapture was taken from the Greek verb harpazo, meaning, “to seize upon, spoil, snatch away or take to oneself,” especially used of rapture (Acts 8:39; 2 Cor 12:2, 4; 1 Thess 4:17; Rev 12:5). It is used several times in the New Testament of people caught up to heaven. After Philip had baptized the Ethiopian unique he was caught away. The apostle Paul was taken to the third heaven. Andy Stanley Unconditional Conference with LBGTQ Controversy. We are going to cover the controversy surrounding Andy Stanley Unconditional Conference. Last week, North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, Georgia, of which Stanley is lead pastor, hosted a two-day event for parents with LGBTQ+ children titled the “Unconditional Conference.” The conference was led by Greg and Lynn McDonald, who are founders of Embracing the Journey, a ministry birthed from their experience with having a gay child. Stanley was also one of the conference’s featured speakers. According to the conference’s website, the MacDonalds “are passionate about helping parents embrace their journey where true healing can occur.” They use their two decades of “firsthand experience” to coach and counsel Christian parents with LGTBTQ+ children. Albert Mohler Southern Baptist Theological Seminary president criticized Stanley on his podcast “The Briefing,” saying that “the quieter middle space” is “illusory.” “I don’t believe that the quieter middle space exists,” Mohler said. “I can see why many might hope that it would exist. You might hope there would be a place which is not so confrontational, not so controversial, not so loud.” In todays day and age its seems like there is no middle ground.
