Matthew 24 warns us of false prophets who will show great signs and wonders. Signs and wonders do not always attest to the truth. Satan is capable of performing signs and wonders. Charismatic people think if something is supernatural then it must be God- NOT TRUE! Prophets in the book of Revelation will be able to make fire come down from heaven. God will use signs and wonders to establish his word. But not all signs are from God.

Matthew 24:23-24
23 Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24 For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.
