(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)
Dissident Cigars has released its first new cigar since the company changed ownership late last year.
The Dissident Molotov is a 5 x 50 robusto that uses an Ecuadorian rojiso wrapper over an Ecuadorian binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic as well as Estelí and Ometepe, Nicaragua. As evident in pictures, it will feature an artful finish to the cigar’s cap. The MSRP is set at $12 per cigar and it is limited to 500 boxes of 20 cigars.
“The Limited Edition Molotov is an explosion into what’s to come for Dissident. New cigars, flavor profiles, & edgy designs are all ahead for this brand,” said Cynn Coburn, Dissident’s co-owner, in a press release. Coburn is also featured in the artwork for the release.
Coburn and her husband, Joshua, purchased Dissident Cigars late last year. This is the first new release from the company since the Coburns purchased the company. Dissident continues to make its cigars, including the new Molotov, at Fábrica Oveja Negra in Nicaragua and its cigars are distributed by Oveja Negra Brands.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2022/10/cavalier-geneve-prospektor-6-x-54.html
(Description taken from Haldwheel.com website)
Two years ago, Cavalier Genève released a cigar called Prospektor as a retailer exclusive, now the name is back with a new blend.
The new version of Prospektor is not only a different cigar, but it’s also not a limited item. Instead, this cigar will be sold at stores nationwide. It’s debuting in a single 6 x 54 toro extra vitola that uses two different Jalapa, Nicaraguan viso wrappers to create a barber pole appearance where the cigar has two different wrappers. Underneath the wrappers are a Nicaraguan habano binder and fillers from Honduras, Nicaragua and Paraguay.
It will have an MSRP of $11.40 per cigar and offered in boxes of 40, with retailers having the option to order 20-count refill bundles.
The original Cavalier Genève Prospektor was released in 2019 as an exclusive for Underground Cigar Shop in Fort Worth.

Espinosa Premium Cigars is also celebrating its 10th anniversary with the aptly named Espinosa 10 Years Anniversary cigar.
“Erik isn’t big about his industry milestones, but me and Erik Jr. are, so we wanted to make yet another special cigar, to celebrate the company’s 10th year in the industry,” said Héctor J. Alfonso, director of operations for Espinosa Premium Cigars.
It is also a 6 x 52 toro, but is a Nicaraguan puro highlighted by a hybrid habano seed wrapper, and is being produced at AJ Fernandez’s San Lotano factory in Ocotal, Nicaragua. Production is limited to 1,500 boxes of 20 cigars, a total run of 30,000 cigars. Pricing is set at $13 per cigar and $260 per box.
“It is hard to believe that it has already been 10 years,” said Erik Espinosa in a press release. “We have come such a long way from where we first started; in a little 800 square foot warehouse, without a single cigar to sell, but here we are. I am very proud of what my team and I have been able to accomplish.”

(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)
Viaje has announced that they have released another batch of one of its most limited cigar lines, the Friends and Family.
It will return in the Merci vitola, a 5 1/4 x 54 robusto extra vitola that debuted in February 2015 and returned in January 2016.
Friends and Family was started as a private blend for company founder Andre Farkas to give to his friends and family, though it became a retail release in 2012. The company has been very tight-lipped about it, declining to disclose any details about the blend or where the cigars are made. This appears to be the first release of the Friends and Family line since October 2018.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2022/10/bricktoberfest-2022-6-x-52-toro.html
(Description provided by J.C. Newman Cigars)
For the past five years, the month of October has been synonymous with Bricktoberfest for J.C. Newman Cigar Co. Each year, we launch a new Brick House branded beer stein which consumers can get with a seven cigar purchase at participating retail locations.
To make things more special in celebration of five years of Bricktoberfest, a limited edition Brick House toro pigtail was created. Fans of Brick House will notice this is a different blend than a traditional Brick House Classic, but will recognize the same flavorful and smooth tobacco with just a hint of spiciness that Nicaraguan cigars are known for. This cigar was blended to pair perfectly with a bold Oktoberfest style lager.
“The founder of our company, my grandfather J.C. Newman, was born and raised in the only Brick House in his village in Hungary. This was the inspiration behind our Brick House brand and a depiction of that house can be seen on this year’s Bricktoberfest stein. Although Germany is most known for Oktoberfest, it’s neighboring country Hungary also does it up big in celebration, making Brick House the perfect cigar to smoke when celebrating this Bavarian holiday.” Said Eric Newman, President and third-generation owner.
A Nicaraguan puro with a wrapper from Jalapa and double binders from Esteli and Condega around an all-Nicaraguan filler
Limited to 1,500 boxes of 10 or 15,000 cigars.
Boxes of 10
MSRP of $10 per cigar

“The founder of our company, my grandfather J.C. Newman, was born and raised in the only Brick House in his village in Hungary. This was the inspiration behind our Brick House brand and a depiction of that house can be seen on this year’s Bricktoberfest stein. Although Germany is most known for Oktoberfest, it’s neighboring country Hungary also does it up big in celebration, making Brick House the perfect cigar to smoke when celebrating this Bavarian holiday.” Said Eric Newman, President and third-generation owner.

The Viaje Piña, which has been off the market since 2017 has returned.
The line’s blend uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, Ecuadorian binder and Nicaraguan filler, the same as the original release, and it is once again made by Tabacalera La Alianza in the Dominican Republic. It is being offered in the same two vitolas as before:
Viaje Piña Makana (6 x 52) — $11 (Box of 24, $264)
Viaje Piña Nohea (5 x 54) — $10.83 (Box of 24, $259.92) REVIEWED TODAY
The line returns wearing new bands that feature a pineapple on them, as opposed to the plain white bands used for the original release, as it had been part of the company’s White Label Project. The release is limited to 350 boxes of each size.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2022/10/maria-lucia-by-luciano-cigars-5-14-x-54.html
(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)
Luciano Cigars has announced an exclusive cigar for retailers who attend the 2022 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Convention & Trade Show in July. The company will release Maria Lucia, a limited edition that the company says is inspired by the story of grit, passion and survival of Maria Lucia Meirelles, the mother of Luciano Meirelles, founder and co-owner of ACE Prime.
The Maria Lucia is a 5 1/4 x 54 box-pressed robusto that uses a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, a double binder of Ecuadorian Sumatra and Ecuadorian HBN 92 leaves, and a filler that contains tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Peru. The blend is described as being medium-full in strength and delivers “an abundance of depth and complexity, where every flavor elicits a double take from its smoker,” according to a press release.
It will be offered in 12-count boxes, with individual cigars having an MSRP of $12.80. The Maria Lucia is made at Tabacalera Pichardo in Nicaragua and is limited to 4,000 boxes.
“It took me many years before I dared to blend something inspired by my mother,” said Meirelles in a press release. “She passed away when I was only 12 years old, and it was only recently that I was able to fully understand and know her complicated life’s story.”
“She was the flower that rises from cracked pavement, the beauty that survives brokenness, the redemption that overcomes tragedy. This cigar echoes the life of a complex woman who reminds us that even when all odds are against us, we nevertheless have the capacity to hold onto the light.”
But the cigar has connections to more than just Meirelles’ mother, as the band’s design and artwork comes from his oldest daughter, Deborah, a Paris-based artist and fashion designer. Several years ago, she had a dream of a woman that she did not know, and upon waking drew a sketch of that woman.
“When I saw the drawing next to old photographs of my mother, I saw the similarity immediately,” said Luciano Meirelles, who added that none of his children had ever met their grandmother, or even seen a photograph of her. “It was almost supernatural the way things happened. It’s hard to believe it was only a coincidence… and now years later, when I decided to finally create this cigar, naturally, in a full-circle kind of way, we thought there would be no better idea than to use my daughter’s drawing for the box.”
The box makes reference to “Since 1957” which honors the year of Maria Lucia’s birth.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2022/10/mas-igneus-toro-by-luciano-cigars-6-x-52.html
(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)
The new line is called Mas Igneus, which comes from a Catalan expression meaning “house of ignition” and which is shared by a winery in the Priorat region of Spain. If the name sounds familiar, ACE Prime’s president and co-founder, Luciano Meirelles, is a partner in the winery along with Jerome and Ornella Valcke, and in November 2021, the trio announced they had created a wine to complement ACE Prime’s Luciano The Dreamer cigar.
Now, a cigar is being created to pair with a wine, and instead of simply offering a balanced flavor profile, the tobacco has been selected for its pH balance, which is a measure of how much acidity or alkalinity something has.
The Mas Igneus blend features a high priming, Ecuadorian corojo 98 wrapper, a Brazilian binder, and fillers from Nicaragua. The tobaccos in the filler were selected for offering a balanced pH level that is designed to not only create an outstanding cigar on its own, but one that is designed to be a perfect match for the “M” wine from the Mas Igneus winery. To do that, Meirelles and the ACE Prime team adapted a chemistry kit to help them select filler tobaccos that match the pH of the wine.
“We are thrilled with all of our joint projects,” Meirelles said in a press release. “Blending a cigar and winemaking are independently captivating processes, but to work jointly on this, it’s simply been a remarkable journey; searching for a balanced pH in the combined leaves was an interesting journey to say the least.”
But the pairing capability of the Mas Igneus blend is not limited to just that wine; Meirelles told halfwheel that it would be well complemented by other denser wines with higher tannin levels such as Malbecs, cabernet sauvignon, Grenaches, shiraz and Bordeaux. He described it as a very meaty cigar that is “almost a meal” when it comes to the density and texture of its smoke.
Mas Igneus will be offered in four vitolas, all of which are offered in 20-count boxes:
Mas Igneus Short Robusto (4 1/2 x 50) — $11.95 (Box of 20, $239)
Mas Igneus Toro (6 x 52) — $12.45 (Box of 20, $249) REVIEWED TODAY
Mas Igneus Ancho (5 x 54) — $12.95 (Box of 20, $259)
Mas Igneus Excelente (6 x 60) — $13.45 (Box of 20, $269)

(Description taken from Cigar-coop.com website)
At the 2022 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, Oveja Negra Brands introduced a new extension to its Black Works Studio Killer Bee line known as Shaolin. The cigar is a three-wrapper barber pole in a belicoso format.
Black Works Studio Killer Bee Shaolin features a barber-pole of three wrappers: Mexican San Andres, Connecticut Shade, and Candela over a Honduran Habano binder and Nicaraguan fillers. The cigar comes in one size – a 5 1/2 x 46 belicoso. It is available in 24-count boxes with pricing set at $13.50 per cigar. Production comes from the company’s factory, Fabrica Oveja Negra in Estelí, Nicaragua.
“The Killer Bee line is in a constant state of evolution. It lends itself to a lot of different variations and the next one in line is the Shaolin. The Shaolin is a slightly tweaked version of the Killer Bee blend wrapped in a mix of Mexican San Andres, Connecticut, and Candela. The result is a bold but elegant cigar that has layers of complexity,” says James Brown, creator of BLTC/BLK WKS and partner at Fabrica Oveja Negra.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2022/10/hvc-seleccion-no-1-poderosos-6-x-54.html
(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)
Earlier this year, HVC Cigars opened up its own factory in Estelí, Nicaragua and now the company is ready to release the first line from the new factory.
The factory is called Fábrica de Tabacos HVC S.A. de Reinier Lorenzo and the cigar will be called Selección No. 1. It uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from Estelí and Jalapa, Nicaragua. Reinier Lorenzo, HVC’s founder, told halfwheel that he wanted to pay tribute to the old Cuban style.
There are three regular production sizes and the cigar began shipping to stores at the end of July:
HVC Selección No. 1 Short Robustos (4 1/2 x 52)
HVC Selección No. 1 Esenciales (5 5/8 x 46)
HVC Selección No. 1 Poderosos (6 x 54) REVIEWED TODAY
All three vitolas will come in boxes of 20.
Lorenzo said that as of now, Selección No. 1 is the only line being made at the new factory, which currently has five pairs of bunchers and rollers.
“I went to the old classic Cuban style,” said Lorenzo. “I never forget where I came from Havana City and also I don’t want, later in life, to regret not opening my own cigar factory.”

(Description taken from Cigar-coop.com website)
At the 2022 Premium Cigar Association Trade Show, Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust launched the first size of what is being dubbed Mi Querida Black SakaKhan.
Mi Querida Black actually made its debut at the end of 2021 as a part of the JR Cigar 50th Anniversary series. At the time the cigar wasn’t called Mi Querida, but the Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Limited Edition EM Maduro. The EM Maduro was a limited 500 box run. When the project was announced, Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust owner Steve Saka explained a bit about the naming of the project:
This is a prototype of a Mi Querida liga we’re developing as a possible addition to our brand portfolio,” Steve says. “Our current code name for the project is “MQ Black” as it is intended to be ringed with black bands.” “It is only fitting that this cigar first be used to celebrate JR Cigar’s 50th Anniversary as its inspiration was the maduro cigars that Ed McVey, the longtime cigar buyer, and I smoked during our tenure over two decades ago at JR.
Saka has now made the decision to take the Mi Querida Black blend and introduce it nationally. While Saka has stopped short of officially calling this Mi Querida Black, it appears that will be the moniker for now. He is launching the blend in the same size as the EM Maduro – a 7 1/4 x 54 parejo, but is calling the cigar SakaKhan.
The name SakaKhan comes from a nickname Saka got when he was in the Navy. It’s not the first time Saka has used the SakaKhan name. It was the name of a 7 x 50 vitola in the original Mi Querida (Blue) line for a cigar distributed by Meier & Dutch.
Saka mentioned he is going with one size because of the availability of the tobaccos, and that blended to the 7 1/4 x 54 size is what he has done thus far. As for the blend, it features a Connecticut Broadleaf No. 1 Dark wrapper, a San Andres binder, and a combination of Honduran, Nicaraguan, and Dominican fillers. The cigars are still packaged in ten-count boxes and described as limited production.

(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)
It’s called Villiger Miami 2022 and no; it’s not made in Miami.
“We named the cigars Villiger Miami 2022 because, since the beginning of 2021, it has been the cigar we give to our friends, customers and colleagues when they visit our Miami office,” said Rene Castaneda, president of Villiger Cigars North America.
The Villiger Miami 2022 is offered in two sizes. It was blended by José Matias Maragoto at the ABAM Cigar Factory in the Domincian Republic. It uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut desflorado wrapper over a Dominican binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic.

Villiger Miami 2022 Robusto (5 x 50) — $15 (Box of 10, $150)
Only 500 boxes of each size were produced due to the limited amount of tobacco.
It debuted at the 2022 PCA Convention & Trade Show, which took place July 9-12 in Las Vegas, and shipped to stores in August.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2022/09/sancho-panza-original-robusto-5-12-x-50.html
(Description provided by General Cigar)
The entire Sancho Panza line has been modernized and the brand’s three updated collections have begun shipping this week.
Matt Wilson, senior brand manager of Sancho Panza said, “Sancho Panza has always been a dependable, tried and true smoke, where the first puff is the same as the last. Cigar culture has evolved and so has the desire for dimensional smoking experiences that deliver a multitude of experiences in one cigar. With this in mind, we tapped the creative juggernaut known as Matt Booth to collaborate on the Sancho blends, and the look and feel of the brand. With Sancho, it is as important to us to respect the traditionalist as it is to embrace the modern smoker, and we feel we’ve ticked the boxes for both.”
Matt Booth, Justin Andrews and the HAT blending team built three distinct Sancho blends, each unified by a bedrock of stellar blend composition and backed by an aesthetic personality to capture the smoker’s attention.
Matt Booth said, “The re-launch of Sancho Panza marks an exciting turning point for this iconic brand. By elevating brand aesthetics, investing ourselves into the realization of intelligent blend expressions and putting the force of our ground pounders behind this brand in the streets, we are taking Sancho Panza to a new lifespan and beyond. I am extremely proud of the work that the entire team has done to bring these new expressions to life. And I look forward to witnessing the brand’s newfound potential.”
Each Sancho Panza blend is medium to medium-full in body and delivers layers of complexity that are apparent from the first puff to the last. All cigars are presented in 20-count wooden boxes emblazoned with the new Sancho Panza logo that was created by Booth to give a nod to the Latin culture and vibe of West LA (CA).
Sancho Panza Original is a five-country blend made with a filler consisting of Dominican, Nicaraguan, and Brazilian Matafina with a Mexican San Andres binder. The blend is enrobed in a Honduran-grown Connecticut wrapper. All told, this is a creamy smoke that imparts a slightly sweet touch on the palate with notes of cappuccino. A deep undercurrent of nuts is prevalent throughout the experience. Sancho Panza Original is a medium-bodied smoke.
