Mortal Kombat 12 : WB DISCOVERY On Board For POWER RANGERS SKIN PACK & GAME Developed By NRS!
NetherRealm Studios’ Ed Boon has confirmed the obvious: his next game will be either Mortal Kombat 12 or Injustice 3. While this doesn’t come as a surprise, it’s still nice to have an official confirmation amid reports that Injustice’s future is hanging in the balance following parent company Warner Media’s merger with Discovery. Rumors suggested that Warner Bros. was looking to offload NetherRealm.
Going by NetherRealm’s previous pattern, it’s Injustice 3 that should be seeing the light of day next but rumor has it that the studio has been forced to prioritize Mortal Kombat 12 as it’s a safer bet than Injustice in terms of commercial performance. However, these rumors remain unsubstantiated and NetherRealm remains tight-lipped about what it’s working on.
It remains to be seen if NetherRealm will release anything other than Mortal Kombat or Injustice in the near future.

Mortal Kombat 12 : WB Forces ED BOON 2 Retract Statement After Slip Up, Micheal Myers Is COMING!
The Mortal Kombat franchise has existed for almost three decades by now, and in that time, it's spawned a list of highly popular and recognizable characters. Foundational to that popularity is that this cast all met or continued to meet at a particular moment when Earthrealm's future seemed to be at its most bleak.
It's worth noting that all of the games are built upon a great deal of history that precedes the events of even the first Mortal Kombat game. One such legendary character important to the early history of the Mortal Kombat series is the Great Kung Lao.
His life was important in altering the trajectory of the fate of Earthrealm, and in death his importance to the world was made even more important. We'll discuss this character and play around with some interesting possibilities regarding a story that is different for him in this video.
Both the Mortal Kombat and Injustice franchises are still yet to come out with new installments. However, some fans suggest that a new Mortal Kombat game is possibly in Development. The reason behind this speculation is because of a job listing fans found for NetherRealm Studios. These listings that fans have been sharing specifically pertain to a martial arts fighting game. Thus, the assumption of a new Mortal Kombat game being developed.
No official announcements for Mortal Kombat 12 or Injustice 3 are out yet, however, a job listing may have just gotten Mortal Kombat 12 leaked, or it may be Injustice 3 leaked.

Thus, the assumption of a new Mortal Kombat game being developed.
Honestly speaking, relying on a job listing isn’t necessarily the best way to identify what game is in development. Fans should also take note of the fact that Mortal Kombat isn’t the only martial arts fighting game NetherRealm has. Injustice, despite being a superhero combat game, is also considered a martial arts fighting game. Also, it’s worth mentioning that Injustice already has two installments, and still a growing player base. Fans of the Injustice franchise have also been long awaiting a third installment of the game.
Let’s not forget that there’s also a possibility that NetherRealm studios could introduce a new IP. Since the studio is well known for fighting games, it’ll be interesting to see a new creation from the team. One thing is for sure though, a new fighting game is in development. For now, we just have to wait and see what exactly is NetherRealm Studios working on, and whether or not the job listing did get Mortal Kombat 12 leaked.
Netherrealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It is the 12th main installment in the main series and will be released in April 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch.
Like the previous game, Mortal Kombat 12 will feature the previous fighting mechanics with a new online mode called 'One to 100', a mode where one player faces off against 100 players on King of the Hill with special mystery buffs or debuffs.
Mortal Kombat 12 will also hold previous DLC guest characters from MKX, MK11 and MK9 as well as new guest characters. The only confirmed guest character so far is Michael Myers, but it has been hinted other 4 new characters for Kombat Pack 1.

Mortal Kombat 12: Havik REMOVED from DLC & PRE ORDER List, HOTARU Returns + More!
Mortal Kombat 12 has seemingly been leaked by a developer on the game. Last year, rumors surfaced claiming that contrary to popular belief, NettherRealm Studios was not working on Injustice 3, but Mortal Kombat 12. Fast-forward and a new photo seems to confirm this. The image comes the way of Jonathan Andersen, a Senior Production Manager at the Chicago-based studio. Taking to Twitter, Andersen tweeted a photo of what appears to be his workspace cluttered with Injustice and Mortal Kombat artwork. That said, if you look in the top right corner, there's a file on the computer titled "MK12_Mast..." There are also other Mortal Kombat files like "Reptile."
The tweet has since been deleted, but not before the Internet got its receipt. And parts of the Internet actually think it's a deliberate leak, which aren't common, but they do happen. The main reason some Mortal Kombat fans think this is the email that's in the background, which contains the following: "our fans eagerly scrape the internet for any trace." It also says to "take extra care with this material." It's all a little bit on the nose.
As noted, the tweet with the image has since been deleted and there's been no follow-up from Andersen, NetherRealm Studios, WB Games, or any other implicated party. No matter whether or not this is a deliberate leak, this is unlikely to change. That said, if it's a deliberate leak, then an official announcement could be imminent.
As always, we will keep you updated as the situation evolves. In the meantime, take everything here -- the leak, and the speculation it has created -- with a grain of salt. While there's little room to doubt the validity of the leak, it's still a leak and not 100 percent official information straight from WB Games PR. Speaking of WB Games PR, we have reached out for a comment. While we wait for information, it's important to remember that NRS -- in particular, its creative director, Ed Boon -- has a reputation for trolling fans. This could be another elaborate example of this, but it seems unlikely.

Lui Kang : History of the Nunchaku Weapons | Mortal Kombat Lore
For a long time, Liu Kang didn't require weapons: he had his fists and fire abilities. In later games, Liu Kang further referenced Bruce Lee by having nunchaku. They began as Liu Kang's weapon in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance and Armageddon.
They did not return until Mortal Kombat 11 and its astonishingly detailed gear system. Now imbued with his fiery arcana, fans have come to accept the nunchaku as the perfect weapon for the champion of Mortal Kombat.

Mortal Kombat 12 : The Game Awards Controversy, Ed Boons Attendance, POSSIBLE Game REVEAL + MORE!
According to an anonymous source Mortal Kombat 12 is purported to be a Greatest Hits celebration of the recent trilogy, combining the roster from all three games (minus the licensed guest characters) into one big 50-character roster. The user source claims that the game will essentially be a ported version of MK11 but simply with a ton of more characters including unplayable bosses. That likely means the game won’t go through a massive overhaul as each installment does and will have the same mechanics as MK11. Returning MK11 characters are said to play the exact same way, down to the movesets
that MK12 is indeed going to be a mishmash of the latest trilogy running on the same MK11 engine. Both posts claim that the game will be revealed next week in the Game Awards.

Foundational to that popularity is that this cast all met or continued to meet at a particular moment when Earthrealm's future seemed to be at its most bleak.
As with any anonymous internet rumor, it’s always good to take this with a grain of salt but the story is nonetheless very interesting. MK11 was an absolute blockbuster of a game, selling higher than any fighting game on the market. That Warner Bros. would just opt to make another version of it isn’t necessarily surprising.

Kotal Khan : History of the Ancient Aztec Weapon | Mortal Kombat Lore
In Mortal Kombat X, the macuahuitl is only available in Kotal Kahn's War God Variation, which gives him crushing attacks all based on the use of his macuahuitl. His Osh-Tekk warriors use one during Kung Jin's Chapter in the Story Mode to execute a poor and starving Outworlder, but is saved by Kung Jin before his execution.
In Mortal Kombat 11, it returns as Kotal Kahn's primary weapon and is used regardless of variation. The weapon is also a customizable gear item in the game's Kustomization.
Trivia
The macuahuitl was originally used by the Aztec military forces and several other precolombian Mesoamerican cultures.
The Macuahuitl's blades were said to be sharp enough to decapitate a human and horse in one swing, making it a very dangerous weapon, at the cost of being very fragile.

MARVEL VS DC : ED BOON TROLLS CEO AFTER HE TRIED TO CANCEL HIS PROJECT BY TRENDING ON TWITTER!

The finale of Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath leaves the MK Universe at a timeline reset, paving the way for a fresh start in Mortal Kombat 12.
The finale of Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath creates a pathway for a fresh start in the future of the franchise. Since the first game's release in 1992, Mortal Kombat has constantly expanded its lore through background information on its characters, spin-off titles, and even the use of additional game modes such as the Krypt in MK11 or Konquest Mode in Deception and Armageddon. Going into the future of the series, Mortal Kombat 12 could explore this lore further by moving away from its current roster.
Elements of the deeper lore of Mortal Kombat have been present throughout the franchise's existence, but it has mostly been relegated to background history and world-building subtext. The ancestry of Kung Lao, which links him back to Earthrealm's first champion of the tournament, remains an underlying story for the members of the Order of Light and its White Lotus Society. Although this history is often referenced, the series has not taken many opportunities to dive further into it. Instead, the series has focused on its current timeline. However, with the timeline reset at the end of Aftermath's good ending, the groundwork is laid for the series to deviate from its present roster of fighters.
When Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath sets the series back in time at the conclusion of its good ending, players are given a choice to play the final confrontation between Shang Tsung and Fire God Liu Kang as either character. Choosing Liu Kang and defeating Outworld's sorcerer sends the story's finale down the path of a new timeline as Liu Kang uses Kronika's Crown and the power of the Hourglass to begin its construction. In doing so, Liu Kang meets the Great Kung Lao, offering to prepare him for what's to come, which could potentially place Mortal Kombat 12 in the past.
The good ending in MK11: Aftermath places the storyline in the very distant past of the franchise. In doing so, this creates the possibility of a clean slate in regards to its roster. Most characters in the current timeline would not be alive in the era of the Great Kung Lao. Beyond Liu Kang taking the role once belonging to Raiden as Earthrealm's protector, as well as the inevitable clash between Kung Lao and Shang Tsung, this era of Mortal Kombat could - and should - see the introduction of new faces from the past.
Many of the franchise's fan-favorites would not be alive during the timeline of Earthrealm's first Mortal Kombat tournament. However, if MK 12 follows the events of Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, it gives the franchise a chance to reboot with a brand-new roster of characters in an otherwise unexplored part of Mortal Kombat's history. Rebooting the series by going backwards in time would be interesting, and creating a roster of new characters would flesh out the rich legacy of the franchise.

Mortal Kombat 12 Exclusive : October 8th Reveal Date, Via Kombat Kast, Full Roll Out Plan!
NetherRealm Studios announced back in July 2021 that they were ending support for Mortal Kombat 11, citing they were "now focusing on its next project". Many believed that this next project could be Injustice 3, with the studio traditionally flipping between their famous fighting game and the studios DC Universe themed fighter.
There had even been rumours of a possible Marvel fighting game too, but recent leaks have suggested that actually, the next entry in the Mortal Kombat series could be the most likely scenario.
If you're keen to know everything about Mortal Kombat 12, then read on.
Many suspected that Injustice 3 was in early development and primed for NetherRealms next release, but according to influential in-the-know journalist Jeff Grubb, that might not be the case (thanks VGC).
Speaking on a new Giant Bomb video, it's implied that the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Warner Brothers Games has led to NetherRealm changing projects.
“It lines up with the reality and it lines up with what I’ve heard, where Mortal Kombat 12 would make the most sense because that’s a game they know will make money, it will sell well… Mortal Kombat 11 was great, it’s doing well, but if you come out with Mortal Kombat 12 it will also sell and do well,” Grubb said speaking on the Giant Bomb.
“At the same time, you don’t have to use any of these Batman or Superman characters that might be tied up in licensing if you try to get rid of NetherRealm or sell it to whoever.”
18 June 2020 -
NetherRealm Studio's latest job ad states that the studio is seeking a Principal Software Engineer "to drive the next generation console graphics vision for the Mortal Kombat and Injustice franchises."
Mortal Kombat 12 Release Date

It's hard to make any firm suggestions for when Mortal Kombat 12 could release, as it's difficult to know if production for Injustice 3 was initially the priority for NetherRealm over the past few years.
One would suspect that if NetherRealm was working on Mortal Kombat 12, the best-case scenario is that it might release in the second half of 2022, but more likely, we suspect it will launch in early 2023.
Traditionally NetherRealm has released a new game every two years, which you can see from the below list:
2013 - Injustice Gods Among Us
2015 - Mortal Kombat X
2017 - Injustice 2
2019 - Mortal Kombat 11
2020 - Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath (Expansion)
Mortal Kombat 12 Story

We'll try to go more in-depth on the game's full story in another page as it deserves more attention and analysis than a small paragraph. But it seems safe to assume that Mortal Kombat 12 will continue on from the end of the Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath DLC.
In this story expansion to Mortal Kombat 11, there are actually two endings, depending on if you choose to fight Kronika as Liu Kang or Shang Tsung.
If you choose Shang Tsung, you'll get 'the bad' ending, but if you choose Liu Kang, you get the 'good ending' which is widely regarded to be canon. You can see this just below
In this ending we see Liu Kang, now 'Lord Liu Kang, God of Thunder & Fire' use the hourglass to create a new history before fading to black. We next see what many believe is the Wu Shi Academy, where Mortal Kombat characters like Kung Lao and Liu Kang were once trained to become Shaolin Monks.

He greets a youthful Kung Lao who Lord Liu Kang has chosen as his new champion. He next explains that they must begin his "training". When Kung Lao asks what he needs to be trained for, Liu Kang does not speak, offering only a smirk as we cut to the credits.
It would suggest that Mortal Kombat 12 is likely the start of a whole new era, potentially decades before most of the previous MK games so far.
Mortal Kombat 12 Characters
Again, we won't do a full deep dive as, like the story, it requires a bit more attention and explanation, especially when it comes to suggesting which characters won't be included.
For now, it seems a safe bet that we can at least expect to see Lord Liu Kang, God of Thunder & Fire as well as this young untrained Kung Lao.
