Marksman 740 youth bb/pellet rifle. They were made from 1970 to 1977. A break barrell smoothbore BB / pellet or dart rifle. Mostly metal with a plastic stock. There is not much information about these, I have only seen one video. So I thought another should be made.
It may bring back childhood memories for some of you.

"The Crosman Model 1100 Trap Master is is a .380 bore CO2 shotgun using special re-loadable shot shells. It features a hardwood stock and forearm with all metal construction. They were manufactured from 1968 to 1971. The shells can be loaded with 64 grains of shot or 67 grain .375 lead roundballs. There are two power settings low and high. On high the gun shoots at around 500fps. That is a lot for a co2 gun of this caliber .380
It is a replica airgun modeled after a Remington 1100 autoloader.

Hatsan 130QE 8mm shotgun mod
Today I made a new sabot design for my Hatsan 130QE 8mm smoothbore shotgun. This is the fourth generation of sabots I've made. They work the best so far.
The capsule it cut on top with a X. a 1mm hole made in the bottom. a small piece of vegetable fiber wad is pressed into the bottom. 47 to 50 grains of any shot is placed in the cartridge. The top of the capsule is put on and secured tight.
You will see in the video a example of a capsule that was not compressed enough. it fell through the barrel * results a dry fire. I'm bad for my own stupid mistakes.
The gun has been modified to a 8mm smoothbore shotgun. The ram is at 160bar. I have tried to choreograph it but the readings with shot is not consistent. Right around 590fps as far as I can tell.
Hope you enjoy my video of a gun that always brings a smile to my face.

A 1960's Crosman Christmas
From 1949 to the late '60s, there were over 100 western series that aired on the networks. Before television, the nation saw westerns at movie theaters and listened to them over the radio.

Heathways plainsmaster 9405. * indoor fun
Today I shoot the Heathways plainsmaster 9405, a unusual BB pistol. A fun gun to shoot on a cold day indoors.
The Plainsmaster 9405 is a Plainsman with an extended 9.4” barrel, a plastic grip and fore-end in imitation walnut grain and a removable metal foregrip. Other than these changes the 9405 is mechanically identical to the Model 175 and was designed to shoot proprietary Healthways .177” nickel coated steel BBs , however it will also shoot modern zinc or copper coated steel BBs. The BB reservoir holds up to 100 BBs it takes a standard 12 gram co2 cartridge. And has a spacer to accept a 8 gram cartridge that the early two variants of the Plainsman 175 used.

Heathways plainsman MC22 .22-CALIBER Co2 rifle
Heathways MC22
When you hear Heathways you probably think of the Plainsman 175 pistol. Heathways made several pistol variants. But they also made two almost unknown rifles. The MX175 .177 used standard bbs and the MC22 .22 steel coated round ball sold and manufactured by Heathways for this rifle and a couple of their .22 pistols.
The MC22 used proprietary .22 lead ammo, that was steal coated so the magnetic feed would work. The MC22 also had a rifled barrel. Other than this they were identical.
The gun today I shoot and examine is the MC22. using .22 gamo round lead balls. The gun shoot them but not as a semi-auto. because the magnetic feed will not pick them up.
There is very little information about these rifles. I think the production started in 1969 to the mid 70's
The Plainsman MC22 could be fired as fast as the trigger can be pulled. It is actually a double action mechanism that fires and loads another steel coated lead ball almost simultaneous. Having a large valve body probably gives the gun its power.
8g or 12 gram co2 cartridge can be used. opening the cart chamber revels the steel coated ball loading tray and cart carriage. closing it charges the gun. I believe it holds fifty lead balls. The safety is located by the cart receiver. having a fixed front blade and adjustable rear sight. and a rifled barrel.
Today I shoot at 25 feet off hand. Indoors as the temperature is 58° outside.
I wish I had some of Heathways steel coated lead ball ammo to properly test the gun. The last time I seen some a tube cost $70. luckily I can shoot it a few times today useing .22 lead roundballs.

Franklin ghost town trail
The community was established in the 1880s, with a post office established by 1886. In May 1891, labor recruiters brought African-Americans to Franklin from Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, and Tennessee with offers of good paying jobs and free transportation. The white miners who were on strike took exception to the African-American strikebreakers and tensions grew for a month and a half. In early July, a riot broke out resulting in the deaths of two people and the Governor called out the National Guard to restore order.
In 1885 the Seattle and Walla Walla Railroad was extended from Black Diamond to the town, allowing most of the coal to be shipped to San Francisco. On August 24, 1894, the worst mine disaster in King County history occurred at the Oregon Improvement Company mine in Franklin. A fire caused thirty-seven miners to suffocate in the mine. A jury later found that the fire had been intentionally set, but the person responsible had also perished in the disaster.
By the early twentieth century, demand fell and mining became more difficult, causing the mine to shut down. The post office closed in 1916. By 1919 nearly all mining had ceased at Franklin and residents vacated, though a few families including the Moore family remained behind. Ernest Moore later wrote a book about his African-American family's experiences in The Coal Miner Who Came West (1982).
From the late 1940s through 1971, Palmer Coking Coal Company mined both surface and underground coal in and around the town site of Franklin. This mining ended in late March 1971 when a coal car bridge across the Green River was blasted in a ceremony attended by many local dignitaries. In 1984-1985 the Green River Community College archaeology department, led by Gerald Hedlund and Mark Vernon, conducted digs at the abandoned town site.
The last time I visited Franklin was in 1987. At that time most of the towns foundations. some structures and many more Graves could be seen. Now most have been overgrown with vegetation and invasive ivy. Probably brought by the people that lived in this mining community.

Crosman doesn't list the silver version of 357- 8" which is a 10 shot, I belive these where manufactured in 1993.
The gun is a single/double action .177 caliber CO2 revolver that is a replica of the Colt Python firearm. But breaks open like a Webley mark 4.The pistol has a 8 inch barrel, a ten-shot rotary clip, and it can hold one CO2 powerlet. They where made in three variants with 4" 6" or 8" barrel with black finishes. The 8 inch silver / brass barrel the most difficult to obtain.

Slavia 618
The Slavia 618 is a classic and was made for many years. Many where imported to the US in the late 60's or early 70's. They are not particularly rare but collectible. They are well-made, sturdy, and great shooters.Try to find a junior-sized air rifles of this quality these days, unfortunately they don't exist. I believe the 618 had to have been made in the 1950s to the 1970' not a bunch of information out there on the 618. This one is a newer model with a post sight.

Crosman AIR 17 * M16 replica
Crosman AIR 17
1985 to 1990
The Crosman AIR 17 is a single stroke pneumatic able shoot pellets or BBs. Manufactured from 1985 to 1990. The guns velocity at 450 fps for BBs and 400 fps for pellets. A smooth bore barrel make this air gun a plinker. Crosman didn't alot of Single Stroke Pneumatic air rifles. A "replica" of the AR-15 / M-16. Athough the gun is mostly plastic it is a fairly good replica. The magazine is detachable and can be used to store extra pellet clips or bbs. The pellet magazine holds 4 pellets and also has a single shot tray built in the mag. The magazine for the Model 760 also fit this air gun and will hold 5 pellets. The rear sight is a peep and the front sight is post. The stock has a storage compartment that is accessible from the but plate. The barrel can be changed out for a rifled one using Crosman M4-177 barrel. , 1985 to 1990

Xisico Hercules B5-10 .177 multi pump repeater
Xisico Hercules B5-10
???? to 2008
The Xisico B5-10 is the QB equivalent to the Crosman 1377. Very solidly built with a good functional design.
It is all metal except for wood grips and plastic pump handle. There is transparent plastic pellet magazine window 10 pellets can be loaded.
This gun is sturdy and solid, not flimsy like the 1377. It is about 5.5 inches longer than the 1377 and about 50%heavier. It has a 15-1/4", 14mm OD rifled barrel.
Pellets are gravity fed into a manually operated slide breech. To load a pellet: point the gun down, press the spring-loaded slide breech, a pellet slides into the breech and returns to line up with the barrel on release. The pellet feed system prefers short pellets. Wadcutter pellets work the best.
