Precise Minuteman / RO72 Carbine
Precise Minuteman / RO72 Carbine
.177
I could not find a lot of information on this gun. However from the diagrams that I found and tearing it down this gun is a Italian RO 72 long barrel that has been put in a wooden carbine stock and called Precise Minuteman, there were other versions of this gun that had a screw-on metal stock extension.

EXCELLENT-GEVARET multi pump air rifle montage
EXCELLENT-GEVARET SWEDEN
1904 - 1970
There were several models made. some with smooth bore and rifling in the last few inches of the barrel others are fully rifled. They offered both full size and carbine. The K signified carbine . They where available in .21 caliber .177 and bb. K carbines roundballs. C11 could shoot pellets or roundball.
Their first airgun was patented in 1904, 1908 they patented a CO2 airgun. They also made an odd top lever spring-piston rifle for a brief time in the early 1920s, as well as a triggerguard-lever rifle.
They also made three versions of breakbarrel springers. The first one was made from 1933 to 1949 and the second and third were more robust guns made from 1949-1959. They made one pistol which is extremely rare.
Their pre WWII production is estimated at 8,000 rifles. They actually made 3500 rifles during the war, from 1943 – 1945. From 1945-1970 they produced as many as 25,000 rifles

Sheridan Silver Streak * 1950's variant
Today We will examine and shoot a Early Sheridan Silver Streak .20 multi pump pneumatic air rifle, six pumps at 25 yards off hand. The gun averaged 652fps with eight pumps. This rifle does not have the undercut front sight, and the rear windage adjustment has slotted screw and not a knurled thumb screw, and roll pins instead of screws in the fore stock I was told this is about 1952-1956 production.
Sheridan Products Inc.
Was formed to produce Pneumatic Air Pellet Rifles with production beginning in March 1947. In the early 1940s Co-founder Ed Wackerhagen, dissatisfied with a pellet gun used by his son, set out to build one of the finest airguns in history. The design was to incorporate the philosophy: "Performance is the sum total of many small functions whose combined result must spell 'Bulls-eye'". It was to be called the Model A, also known as the "Super Grade". This air gun was to fill the gap between the "BB" gun and the .22 caliber. A successful prototype was produced mid-1944 and in 1945, in partnership with I.R. "Bob" Kraus, Sheridan Products Inc. was born in Racine, Wisconsin.[1] The name Sheridan was reputedly in honor of the Civil War's General Philip Sheridan.
The Sheridan Model A "Super Grade" was introduced in 1947 and is considered one of the finest air rifles ever produced. Unfortunately its high cost (MSRP $56.50), translated to very slow sales. Within a year, it was decided that a cheaper model was needed, and in 1948 the Model B "Sporter" was born. Designed to be less expensive than the Model A, it had a MSRP of $35 when introduced. Apparently the price point of the Model B was still too high, and sales continue to be slow on both rifles, which was of great concern to the newly formed Sheridan Company. It was quickly realized that for the company to survive, a much cheaper to produce model must be designed. This philosophy gave rise to the last Sheridan model, the Model C "Streak" introduced in 1949. Its MSRP at introduction was $19.95 and was selling for $23.95 by 1950. This is the model that ushered Sheridan Products Inc. into profitability. The Model C Silver and Blue Streaks are the pellet rifles that Sheridan is primarily known for, since the Model A's and B's are relatively scarce. Sheridan manufactured the Model C Streaks for 27 years before being bought out by the Benjamin Air Rifle company and ending the original run of Sheridan produce Streaks. Many small changes were made to the Streaks during its 27-year run, providing collectors many different varieties.

This pistol proves you don’t need a pedigreed barrel for accuracy.
All three models are identical as far as the action is concerned. The 717 is the base model. The 747 has a Lothar Walther barrel. The 777 was discontinued a few years ago, having Lothar Walther barrel, wooden grips and adjustable metal sights. The 722 also the same as the 717 except in .22 cal.
These guns are very accurate, very quiet and a joy to shoot. In my opinion a great choice for someone wanting to try 10 meter competition.
Daisy 717 was released in 1979 and initially thought to be something of a toy. Until it started winning target competitions (against FWB 65's and such like pistols) and one renowned shooter (Don Nygord) championed this pistol. Nygord recommended two mods: an adjustable trigger and uprated rear sights. The trigger is altered via a screw you have to drill and tap into the grip frame yourself which alters the contact point with the sear, allowing the trigger to be set far lighter than the 2lbs standard. 500 grams was achieved.
Today I shoot it from 25 feet off hand.

Daisy VL
A spring piston air rifle that is actually a firearm. The Daisy VL.
A close up examination of the rifle and we will see if the VL will shoot a pellet with the air created by the compression chamber alone. Then will take it to the range and shoot the caseless ammo
My first test of the gun was a 14.3 grain pellet with the skirt expanded to fit the barrel. This test was done to see if in fact the VL is actually a air gun. my conclusion is. Yes the Daisy VL is in fact a air rifle. But a week one with the pellet consistently shooting at around 130fps. Then I wanted to shoot it at paper from 12 feet to conclude my test before going to the range, where it would be tested with the intended ammo.
A question to you. If you intentionally diesel a pellet using petroleum jelly, or another combustible substance does this make you airgun now a firearm?
Something to think about.
Only 19,000 of the standard ones and 5,000 of the presentation models were made in 1968 1969 the years before the ATF shut them dowm., But here is the thing. The VL wasn’t just a single shot .22. It was also a spring-piston air rifle.
The Daisy VL rifle is a single-shot spring-piston rifle cocked by an underlever. Load the cartridge in the breech — exactly where a pellet would be loaded.
And yes it can also shoot a pellet. But at a lower velocity around 130fps. So in fact it is technically also a pellet rifle.
The VL is a caseless cartridge developed by Belgian chemical engineer Jules Van Langenhoven. Hence VL. The charge is ignited by high temperature compressed air. The kind of air that’s generated by a spring-piston air rifle. The Daisy VL is a .22-caliber underlever single shot spring-piston air rifle useing a combustible charge to obtain its maximum velocity.
When you work the cocking lever of the V/L rifle, a cylinder and piston are forced to the rear, compressing a very heavy spring. The breech is now open and you can place a V/L round in the chamber. When the cocking lever is reseated, it brings the cylinder forward, closing the breech. The piston is held in the cocked position by a sear, ready to fire.
rapidly compressed, forced through a small hole and around a ball check valve. The rapid compression of the air causes an extreme rise in temperature. In the V/L rifle, the jet of heated air ignites the propellent attached to the projectile.
The ball check valve instantly closes, and the full energy of the propellent is focused on pushing the projectile down the barrel. A 29-grain projectile heading to the target at 1150 feet per second.
Now pull the trigger. The sear releases and the heavy spring drives the piston forward in the cylinder. The air in the cylinder is super heated and ignites the propellant firing the gun.

Crosman SA6 .22 *Colt replica revolver
In 1958 Crosman made their first Colt Single Action Army replica. Nervous what the consumer may think of the new pistol.
Crosman created a new company just to sell the gun, if it was unsuccessful the Crosman name wouldn’t be associated.
It was a huge success and over the next twenty-five years Crosman went on to sell a huge of a range of Wild West revolver replicas. Crosman created a new company. P. Y. Hahn Mfg. Co. Inc. specifically to produce and sell the new BB shooting Hahn 45 revolver and the Model 166 , With the success of the BB shooting Hahn 45 , Crosman released a .22 pellet shooting version, the Single Action 6 (SA6) within a year. The SA6 was identified as a Crosman product from the start. The SA6 has a 4.25″ rifled barrel and is a heavy well balanced pistol, with black or white imitation staghorn grips. Four different versions of the SA6 were made during its ten years of production. With the differences minor.

Crosman 1861 Shiloh co2 pistol
The Crosman Model 1861 Shiloh is a replica of the Remington Model 1861 Army revolver. While it’s vary similar to the original, it is not as close a replica as the other Crosman Wild West revolvers are to the SA6. Introducing some new features. The Model 1861 is the first of this series of Crosman replicas to feature a manual safety, a crossbolt safety located below the cylinder. The CO2 cover is a hinged section underneath the barrel, in the position where the loading lever on the original pistol. The CO2 tightening screw beneath the barrel is much bigger on the Model 1861 than the other western guns. The 1861 is able to shoot both .177″ pellets and BBs.More parts are made of plastic on this replica including the CO2 cover and the cylinder. The sights on this replica are also similar to conventional notch and post sights, which makes this one of the most accurate of all the Crosman Western revolvers.
This gun has been cleaned, lubed, and had new seals installed. Velocity was tested at around 339fps using H&N excite wadcutter pellets.

Hahn super bb repeater / Crosman 166
Model 166 CO2, BB lever action repeater. The Hahn Super BB Repeater. The first product of the P.Y. Hahn Mfg. Co., Inc., Fairport, NY Rifle 1958-1971. Crosman's first ever bb gun.
The 1960s and ’70s were the age of repeating BB guns. CO2 had come of age, after almost dying out in the late ’50s from leaky cartridges.
Now with the super bb repeater and a year later with the Hahn 45 single six bb pistol every boy and girl could emulate their favorite TV and movie heroes. Western's dominated them. With shows like Gunsmoke, The Rifleman and Bonanza to name a few. These guns were great success.
