If a picture says a thousand words, video says a whole lot more. I have learned to identify a majority of the seashells that can be found in Southwest Florida, so when I'm asked how to tell the difference between the two, I'm happy to make a quick video to explain!

Shelling before a hurricane is probably my favorite. I know that the hurricane hasn't destroyed anything yet, so I can shell without a guilty conscience, knowing that somewhere people are not recovering. It’s super fun to shell after a storm, but after surviving and recovering from Hurricane Ian, I know there is not much joy to be had in the area the hurricane has struck. Lovers Key State Park had sustained a lot of damage from Hurricane Ian but a good portion of the park is now open. I was bummed when I saw how little of the beach was walkable, however, what was open was enough to see the south end of the park again and check out how it's changed. I go on weekly beach walks and I share them so you can virtually enjoy the beach with me. I'm kind of obsessed with the beach, so learning about what I'm encountering has been super fun. And sharing all the things I'm learning has really been rewarding. I am very fortunate to live where I do and have people to share my paradise with!

Sanibel Island got wholloped by Hurricane Ian, but repairs are being made and the beaches are open! Is it a bad thing to have the beach to yourself?
