Global South Takes Israel to Court, While West Targets Those Who Say ‘Free Palestine’
BreakThrough News
Sevim Dağdelen - Last week, the German government appeared before the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the highest UN judicial body, on charges of aiding and abetting the Israeli genocide in Gaza. In the historic case brought by Nicaragua, Germany, Israel’s second-largest arms supplier after the US, is accused of aiding and abetting the genocide with its political, financial, and military support for Israel. Sevim Dağdelen, a member of the German Bundestag and the only parliamentary observer at the hearings discusses how the West’s blatant double standards were on full display at the ICJ.
Jodi Dean - Jodi Dean, a professor, prominent political theorist, and author, has been suspended from her teaching duties at Hobart and William Smith Colleges over the essay she wrote in support of Palestinian liberation. Dean's suspension reflects the rising escalation in political repression targeting those in solidarity with Palestine since the Gaza genocide began 6 months ago. Dean joins Eugene to discuss this neo-McCarthyist climate, the role of higher education institutions in maintaining the US support for Israel, and why she will never stop talking about Palestine.

Iran Just Destroyed US Power in the Middle East | Ambassador Chas Freeman - Neutrality Studies
We just witnessed one of the biggest changes in middle eastern (or west asian) geopolitics in decades. Iran's highly targeted attack on Israel and the signalling towards the other Arab states, combined with its incredible diplomacy, allowed Tehran to brake free from US strangle-hold.
This talk was recorded only hours before Israel's (limited) counter attack on Iran, in the morning hours of April 19. So far, it seems Ambassador freeman correctly predicted that Israel has to change its strategic calculations.
Ambassador Chas Freeman was US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia from 1990-92 and then became Assistant Secretary of Defense from 93-94.
