Ignoring the Holy Spirit | 7.5.23 | Wednesday | On Fire Christian Church
Ignoring the Holy Spirit
“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” I Corinthians 3:16 NKJV
“Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” Romans 5:5 NKJV
“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God.” I Corinthians 2:12 NKJV
“who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.” II Corinthians 1:22 NKJV
Holy Spirit is in you to guide you in the culture of heaven and to bring you to your eternal dwelling
“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; John 16:13 NKJV
“Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying: “Where is He who brought them up out of the sea With the shepherd of His flock? Where is He who put His Holy Spirit within them, Who led them by the right hand of Moses, With His glorious arm, Dividing the water before them To make for Himself an everlasting name, Who led them through the deep, As a horse in the wilderness, That they might not stumble?” As a beast goes down into the valley, And the Spirit of the Lord causes him to rest, So You lead Your people, To make Yourself a glorious name.” Isaiah 63:11-14 NKJV
““Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. Beware of Him and obey His voice; do not provoke Him, for He will not pardon your transgressions; for My name is in Him. But if you indeed obey His voice and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries. For My Angel will go before you and bring you in to the Amorites and the Hittites and the Perizzites and the Canaanites and the Hivites and the Jebusites; and I will cut them off.” Exodus 23:20-23 NKJV
Many ignore the Spirit within them and do jot give Him the proper honor
Ignore-to refuse to pay attention to: to be ignorant of or not be acquainted with:
“Yes, they made their hearts like flint, refusing to hear the law and the words which the Lord of hosts had sent by His Spirit through the former prophets. Thus great wrath came from the Lord of hosts.” Zechariah 7:12 NKJV
Ignore is to rebel against the Spirit
Rebel-reject or resist or ride to arms against one’s government
A rebel- one who does not like rules or authority and shows this by behaving differently from society
A person opposed to a political system in their country
We are called to proclaim God's culture on earth through His Spirit
Consequences of ignoring the Holy Spirit
“But they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit; So He turned Himself against them as an enemy, And He fought against them.” Isaiah 63:10 NKJV
Christians can grieve! “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.” Ephesians 4:30 NKJV
“Do not quench the Spirit.” I Thessalonians 5:19 NKJV
“Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?” Hebrews 10:29 NKJV
““You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you.”Acts 7:51 NKJV

Heavenly Mindedness | 7.2.23 | Sunday PM | On Fire Christian Church
Heavenly Mindedness
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.” II Timothy 4:7-8 NKJV
The pursuit of the righteous is a pursuit for a kingdom that you cannot see. It is a kingdom within and is a kingdom in which you know will one day become a reality. So much so that nothing would ever get you to break away from it.
“And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!” II Timothy 4:18 NKJV
“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.”. Colossians 3:1-4 NKJV
Jonathan Edwards said, “It becomes us to spend this life only as a journey toward heaven . . . to which we should subordinate all other concerns of life. Why should we labor for or set our hearts on anything else, but that which is our proper end and true happiness?
In his early twenties, Edwards composed a set of life resolutions. One read, “Resolved, to endeavor to obtain for myself as much happiness, in the other world, as I possibly can.” Unfortunately, many believers find no joy when they think about heaven.
I think God wants us to ponder not simply where we go when we die, but where we will live with Christ forever.
Scripture tells us we should be “looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness” (2 Peter 3:13). God has not abandoned His original design and plan for humanity to rule the earth for His glory. One day, He will reverse the curse and restore what was corrupted by sin. He will come down to dwell with His people on the new earth, bringing His throne, and heaven itself, with Him (Rev. 21:1–4; 22:3).
No wonder Scripture makes clear that the one central business of this life is to prepare for the next. What we need is a generation of heavenly minded people who see human beings and the earth not simply as they are, but as God intends them to be.
Knowing that our destiny is to live as redeemed, righteous people on a redeemed, righteous earth with our righteous Redeemer should be a powerful incentive to call upon His strength to live righteously today.
“Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3 NKJV

Blinding Power of Pride | 7.2.23 | Sunday AM | On Fire Christian Church
Blinding Power of Pride
Pride has blinding power! It blinds us from the reality of our true sinful state and opens our lives up to sin and compromise. Compromise will bring destruction. As we are about to see in The life of the great King Solomon he started out strong and ended bad.
“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” Proverbs 16:18 ESV
“Everyone who is arrogant in heart is an abomination to the Lord; be assured, he will not go unpunished.” Proverbs 16:5 ESV
Solomon’s beginnings
Son of Bathsheba
1 Kings 3:3. Solomon loved the Lord
God appears to him
“At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night, and God said, “Ask what I shall give you.” And Solomon said, “You have shown great and steadfast love to your servant David my father, because he walked before you in faithfulness, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart toward you. And you have kept for him this great and steadfast love and have given him a son to sit on his throne this day. And now, O Lord my God, you have made your servant king in place of David my father, although I am but a little child. I do not know how to go out or come in. And your servant is in the midst of your people whom you have chosen, a great people, too many to be numbered or counted for multitude. Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people, that I may discern between good and evil, for who is able to govern this your great people?” It pleased the Lord that Solomon had asked this. And God said to him, “Because you have asked this, and have not asked for yourself long life or riches or the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern what is right, behold, I now do according to your word. Behold, I give you a wise and discerning mind, so that none like you has been before you and none like you shall arise after you. I give you also what you have not asked, both riches and honor, so that no other king shall compare with you, all your days. And if you will walk in my ways, keeping my statutes and my commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days.”. 1 Kings 3:5-14 ESV
Wealth of Solomon
1 Kings 4:20-end
Solomon begins to build the temple of God/God's instruction
“Concerning this house that you are building, if you will walk in my statutes and obey my rules and keep all my commandments and walk in them, then I will establish my word with you, which I spoke to David your father. And I will dwell among the children of Israel and will not forsake my people Israel.” 1 Kings 6:12-13 ESV
Solomon’s work force
“Solomon also had 70,000 burden-bearers and 80,000 stonecutters in the hill country, besides Solomon’s 3,300 chief officers who were over the work, who had charge of the people who carried on the work.” 1 Kings 5:15-16 ESV
Solomon completes temple and God shows up
“And when the priests came out of the Holy Place, a cloud filled the house of the Lord, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the house of the Lord.” 1 Kings 8:10-11 ESV
Solomon’s 2nd visit.
“As soon as Solomon had finished building the house of the Lord and the king’s house and all that Solomon desired to build, the Lord appeared to Solomon a second time, as he had appeared to him at Gibeon. And the Lord said to him, “I have heard your prayer and your plea, which you have made before me. I have consecrated this house that you have built, by putting my name there forever. My eyes and my heart will be there for all time. And as for you, if you will walk before me, as David your father walked, with integrity of heart and uprightness, doing according to all that I have commanded you, and keeping my statutes and my rules, then I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever, as I promised David your father, saying, ‘You shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.’ But if you turn aside from following me, you or your children, and do not keep my commandments and my statutes that I have set before you, but go and serve other gods and worship them, then I will cut off Israel from the land that I have given them, and the house that I have consecrated for my name I will cast out of my sight, and Israel will become a proverb and a byword among all peoples. And this house will become a heap of ruins. Everyone passing by it will be astonished and will hiss, and they will say, ‘Why has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?’ Then they will say, ‘Because they abandoned the Lord their God who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt and laid hold on other gods and worshiped them and served them. Therefore the Lord has brought all this disaster on them.’” 1 Kings 9:1-9 ESV
Kings and queens overwhelmed with Solomon’s wealth and prosperity
“Now when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the Lord, she came to test him with hard questions. She came to Jerusalem with a very great retinue, with camels bearing spices and very much gold and precious stones. And when she came to Solomon, she told him all that was on her mind. And Solomon answered all her questions; there was nothing hidden from the king that he could not explain to her. And when the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built, the food of his table, the seating of his officials, and the attendance of his servants, their clothing, his cupbearers, and his burnt offerings that he offered at the house of the Lord, there was no more breath in her.” 1 Kings 10:1-5 ESV
Solomon’s divided heart
“Now King Solomon loved many foreign women, along with the daughter of Pharaoh: Moabite, Ammonite, Edomite, Sidonian, and Hittite women, from the nations concerning which the Lord had said to the people of Israel, “You shall not enter into marriage with them, neither shall they with you, for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods.” Solomon clung to these in love.” 1 Kings 11:1-2 ESV
Why did t Solomon repent after the 1st or even 2nd foreign wife?
Why was He not listening to his conscience?
700 wives and 300 concubines
“He had 700 wives, who were princesses, and 300 concubines. And his wives turned away his heart. For when Solomon was old his wives turned away his heart after other gods, and his heart was not wholly true to the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father. For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites. So Solomon did what was evil in the sight of the Lord and did not wholly follow the Lord, as David his father had done. Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, and for Molech the abomination of the Ammonites, on the mountain east of Jerusalem. And so he did for all his foreign wives, who made offerings and sacrificed to their gods.” 1 Kings 11:3-8 ESV
Bad decisions didn’t cause problem immediately but when he was old
Pride's results do not show up many times until years later
Solomon confronted by God
“And the Lord was angry with Solomon, because his heart had turned away from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods. But he did not keep what the Lord commanded. Therefore the Lord said to Solomon, “Since this has been your practice and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes that I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom from you and will give it to your servant.” 1 Kings 11:9-11 ESV
God's Word to Solomon was spoken early on and expected to be upheld
We easily forget
God showed himself twice to him yet he quickly forgot God and was lured into bondage by his sinful choices
Comfort and pride led to his downfall.
Do not allow God's blessing to give you permission to fall away

Pride
Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting! (Psalm 139:23–24)
LGBTQ community has labeled June Pride month
Pride-A sense of one's own proper dignity or value; self-respect…..Pleasure or satisfaction taken in an achievement, possession, or association……Arrogant or disdainful conduct or treatment; haughtiness.
Is Pride a good thing?
“Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.” Proverbs 16:18 NKJV
“A man’s pride will bring him low, But the humble in spirit will retain honor.” Proverbs 29:23 NKJV
“The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate.” Proverbs 8:13 NKJV
“Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord; Though they join forces, none will go unpunished.” Proverbs 16:5 NKJV
Today in our culture mankind has elevated this month to shake its fist at God and to declare its independence from God and Gods commandments.
For the LGBTQ it is a declaration to be free from morality and to be as you feel you are
Pride attacks conviction, guilt for perversion. Pride attacks shame that is natural to shameful behavior
As the breath of this spirit is released through the earth and welcomed rather than resisted it gives way to destruction.
You do not get to pick and choose what evil spirits come with it. A breath of evil has blanketed the earth and now the earth is also plunged into a breath to be independent of the Living God is a greater measure
Believers who obviously would fight against any evil attempt of wickedness will find themselves tormented in their minds because these demons have been released over the earth.
Pride is an enemy to a follower of Jesus
As seriously dangerous as pride is, it’s equally hard to spot. When it comes to diagnosing our hearts, those of us who have the disease of pride have a challenging time identifying our sickness. Pride infects our eyesight, causing us to view ourselves through a lens that colors and distorts reality. Pride will paint even our ugliness in sin as beautiful and commendable.
Jonathan Edwards…It is by spiritual pride that the mind defends and justifies itself in other errors and defends itself against light by which it might be corrected and reclaimed. The spiritually proud man thinks he is full of light already and feels that he does not need instruction, so he is ready to ignore the offer of it.On the other hand, the humble person is like a little child who easily receives instruction. He is cautious in his estimate of himself, sensitive as to how liable he is to go astray. If it is suggested to him that he is going astray, he is most ready to check into the matter.
Spiritual pride takes many forms and shapes, one under another, and encompasses the heart like the layers of an onion: when you pull off one, there is another underneath. Therefore, we have need to have the greatest watch imaginable over our hearts with respect to this matter and to cry most earnestly to the great Searcher of hearts for His help. He that trusts his own heart is a fool.
Signs of pride in our own hearts
Fault finding with others -Spiritual pride causes one to speak of other persons' sins, their enmity against God and His people, or with laughter and levity and an air of contempt, while pure Christian humility disposes either to be silent about them or to speak of them with grief or pity.
A harsh spirit-proud persons to speak of almost everything they see in others in the most harsh, severe language.
Putting on pretense - Spiritual pride often causes persons to act different in external appearance,He does not try to set himself up to be viewed and observed as one distinguished, as desiring to be accounted better than others — despising their company or conformity to them — but on the contrary, desires to become all things to all men, to yield to others and conform to them and please them in all but sin
Takes offense easily-Spiritual pride takes great notice of opposition and injuries that are received and is prone to be often speaking of them and to be much in taking notice of their aggravation, either with an air of bitterness or contempt.Pure and unmixed Christian humility, on the other hand, causes a person to be more like his blessed Lord when reviled: quiet, not opening his mouth, but committing himself in silence to Him who judges righteously. For the humble Christian, the more the world is against him, the more silent and still he will be, unless it is in his prayer closet, and there he will not be still.
Presumption before God- work out salvation with fear and trembling
Hunger for attention-Another effect of spiritual pride is to make the subject of it want attention. People often tend to act in a special manner as though others ought to take great notice and regard of them. It is very natural to a person that is very much under the influence of spiritual pride to take all the respect that is paid to him.If others show a disposition to submit to him and yield in deference to him, he is open to it and freely receives it. It becomes natural for him to expect such treatment and to take much notice if a person fails to do so, and to have an ill opinion of those who do not give him that which he feels he deserves.
Pride is hungry for attention, respect, and worship in all its forms. Maybe it sounds like shameless boasting about ourselves. Maybe it’s being unable to say “no” to anyone because we need to be needed. Maybe it looks like obsessively thirsting for marriage — or fantasizing about a better marriage — because you’re hungry to be adored. Maybe it looks like being haunted by your desire for the right car or the right house or the right title at work: all because you seek the glory that comes from men, not God.
Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting! (Psalm 139:23–24)

Small Beginnings
“For who has despised the day of small things? Zechariah 4:10 NKJV
God had called Zechariah to rebuild the temple which had been destroy
586 Bc the temple was destroyed because of 3 sins. Idol worship, forbidden sexual relations, and bloodshed
God declares to a man, Zechariah, that He is going to rebuild this temple of worship and is told to not despise the day of this small beginning
Small beginnings!
During small beginnings, what normally happens is that one tends to put in a lot of work, effort so to speak with minimal support and encouragement
It is not unusual to experience setbacks in one way or another.
The important thing is to keep going and not give up.
Everybody wants the big – the big ministry, the big house, the big car, the big business, etc. We have big dreams and visions desiring to accomplish something great and significant. There is nothing wrong with any of that. We should dream big, stretch our faith, and believe God, however greatness starts off small. No significant work has ever started off huge.
Whatever the reason we often miss the big because we don’t do the little. The full ear of corn doesn’t just happen, It starts as a seed, then the blade, the stock, and finally the full ear of corn. Everything in life starts off as a little seed.
The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. A marathon is run one step at a time.
Despising your present will cause a person to frown upon the little things required to get to your destination
Don’t despise small beginnings – the big is in the little!
Gods call is to rebuild our lives to fulfill Gods purpose for us!
They start out with a blueprint communicated to us by hope!
It’s got to start somewhere and that’s how God reveals His purpose
Joseph dreamt of purpose
David could see victory of purpose
Faith in God is what brings to pass our hope
“By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”Hebrews 11:3 NKJV
“This is God’s Message to Zerubbabel: ‘You can’t force these things. They only come about through my Spirit,’ says God-of-the-Angel-Armies. ‘So, big mountain, who do you think you are? Next to Zerubbabel you’re nothing but a molehill. He’ll proceed to set the Cornerstone in place, accompanied by cheers: Yes! Yes! Do it!’Zechariah 4:5-7 MSG

God's Love Poured Out | 6.14.23 | Wednesday | On Fire Christian Church
God's love poured out
God poured out that love upon all in Christ Jesus
“Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” Romans 5:5 NKJV
Holy Spirit in us now submerges us into love. Since God is Love a believers longing becomes consumed with that love
“For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,” Titus 3:3-6 NKJV
Regeneration-Rebirth by Holy Spirit
Saved us by Himself without any merit on our part.
Same with the completion of our salvation.
Philippians 1:6 He that began
Everything is of Him because it must because we are sooo broken
How does He love me?
I didn’t find Him, He came in hot pursuit of me
“Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth— For your love is better than wine. Because of the fragrance of your good ointments, Your name is ointment poured forth; Therefore the virgins love you. Draw me away! We will run after you. The king has brought me into his chambers. We will be glad and rejoice in you. We will remember your love more than wine. Rightly do they love you.” Song of Solomon 1:2-4 NKJV
“I have come to my garden, my sister, my spouse; I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk. Eat, O friends! Drink, yes, drink deeply, O beloved ones!” Song of Solomon 5:1 NKJV
He pursues us
“I sleep, but my heart is awake; It is the voice of my beloved! He knocks, saying, “Open for me, my sister, my love, My dove, my perfect one; For my head is covered with dew, My locks with the drops of the night.” I have taken off my robe; How can I put it on again? I have washed my feet; How can I defile them? My beloved put his hand By the latch of the door, And my heart yearned for him. I arose to open for my beloved, And my hands dripped with myrrh, My fingers with liquid myrrh, On the handles of the lock. I opened for my beloved, But my beloved had turned away and was gone. My heart leaped up when he spoke. I sought him, but I could not find him; I called him, but he gave me no answer.” Song of Solomon 5:2-6 NKJV
The door hole is a part of the door pierced through at the upper part of the lock, or door bolt (מִן־הַחור), that is, by the opening from without to within, or through the opening, as if, i.e., to open the door by pressing back the lock or bolt from within. There was some obstacle. He tailed to open it. It had not been left so that he could easily obtain admittance. The metaphor is very apt and beautiful. How much he loved her! How he tried to come to her! As applied to the Saviour, what infinite suggestiveness! He would be with us, and not only knocks at the door, but is impatient to enter; tries the lock, and too often finds it in vain; he is repelled, he is resisted
Churches and believers, by carelessness and security, provoke Christ to withdraw. We ought to notice our spiritual slumbers and distempers. Christ knocks to awaken us, knocks by his word and Spirit, knocks by afflictions and by our consciences; thus, Re 3:20. When we are unmindful of Christ, still he thinks of us. Christ's love to us should engage ours to him, even in the most self-denying instances; and we only can be gainers by it. Careless souls put slights on Jesus Christ. Another could not be sent to open the door. Christ calls to us, but we have no mind, or pretend we have no strength, or we have no time, and think we may be excused. Making excuses is making light of Christ. Those put contempt upon Christ, who cannot find in their hearts to bear a cold blast, or to leave a warm bed for him. See the powerful influences of Divine grace. He put in his hand to unbolt the door, as one weary of waiting. This betokens a work of the Spirit upon the soul. The believer's rising above self-indulgence, seeking by prayer for the consolations of Christ, and to remove every hinderance to communion with him; these actings of the soul are represented by the hands dropping sweet-smelling myrrh upon the handles of the locks. But the Beloved was gone! By absenting himself, Christ will teach his people to value his gracious visits more highly.

God is Love | 6.11.23 | Sunday AM | On Fire Christian Church
God is Love
“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” I John 4:7-8 NKJV
This statement that we should love does not mean we wink at sinners and accept the perversions of man
Our loving God who is love deals with unrepentant sinners
“God is a just judge, And God is angry with the wicked every day. If he does not turn back, He will sharpen His sword; He bends His bow and makes it ready. He also prepares for Himself instruments of death; He makes His arrows into fiery shafts. Behold, the wicked brings forth iniquity; Yes, he conceives trouble and brings forth falsehood. He made a pit and dug it out, And has fallen into the ditch which he made. His trouble shall return upon his own head, And his violent dealing shall come down on his own crown.” Psalms 7:11-16
God poured out that love upon all in Christ Jesus
“Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”. Romans 5:5 NKJV
Holy Spirit in us now submerges us into love. Since God is Love a believers longing becomes consumed with that love
The pursuit of a believer is God who is love
The love of God toward you is like the Amazon River flowing down to water a single daisy. -
“The sin underneath all our sins is to trust the lie of the serpent that we cannot trust the love and grace of Christ and must take matters into our own hands”
We can fully embrace God's love only when we recognize how completely unworthy of it we are.”
“There will always be someone willing to hurt you, put you down, gossip about you, belittle your accomplishments and judge your soul. It is a fact that we all must face. However, if you realize that God is a best friend that stands beside you when others cast stones you will never be afraid, never feel worthless and never feel alone.”
“Though we are incomplete, God loves us completely. Though we are imperfect, He loves us perfectly. Though we may feel lost and without compass, God's love encompasses us completely. ... He loves every one of us, even those who are flawed, rejected, awkward, sorrowful, or broken.”
“We should be astonished at the goodness of God, stunned that He should bother to call us by name, our mouths wide open at His love, bewildered that at this very moment we are standing on holy ground.”
“Legalism says God will love us if we change. The gospel says God will change us because He loves us.”
“Trusting God's grace means trusting God's love for us rather than our love for God. […] Therefore our prayers should consist mainly of rousing our awareness of God's love for us rather than trying to rouse God's awareness of our love for him, like the priests of Baal on Mount Caramel
A healthy believer longs for Gods love like water
Drown me in your love
In order to enjoy His love one must be made righteous
“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” II Corinthians 5:21
Love is like water is because you cannot live without it
Humans can go 3 days without water
As believers we cannot go without God's love
Go without water and you will die
A believer go without God and his essence of love and they will die
No vitality, no life , no spiritual fervor
“As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. Psalms 42:1-2 NKJV
“O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water. So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory.” Psalms 63:1-2
We need God who is love
As believers we must be captivated by His love. That is what brings life to our souls and healing to a world
When you are captivated by Gods love the manifestation of that love will come out of you by loving others and by obeying God's commandments
Swim in His love by the presence of Holy Spirit

Spirits More Wicked Than They | 6.4.23 | Sunday AM | On Fire Christian Church
Spirits More Wicked Than They
“When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it swept and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first.” Luke 11:24-26 NKJV
Just prior to this Jesus was being accused of casting out demons by the devils power and they wanted a sign of His authority
“But if I cast out demons with the finger of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you. When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace. But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils.” Luke 11:20-22 NKJV
Jesus states Him casting out spirits is the kingdom of God coming and says He is stronger than demonic power
Jesus next statement is a call demanding a side be taken!
“He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters.” Luke 11:23 NKJV
You are either on the Lord's side or the devil's side
Joshua 24:15 choose this day whom you will serve
“How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” I Kings 18:21
Jesus follows this scripture of choosing a side with the following…
Luke 11:24-26. About unclean spirits leaving a man
The unclean spirit which was cast out called the house his!
Chilling to know most likely in all of us before salvation demons lived in us or controlled our life
We all needed saving thus the reason Jesus came
From this verse we see something necessitates action on the part of the delivered
“Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” “I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.”. II Corinthians 6:17-18 NKJV
God calls us out from all things unclean and to stay away from unclean and says as we do He will be a Father and we are then sons and daughters
There are things God calls unclean
Now if we determine to not fear the Lord and separate ourselves we open ourselves up to wickedness.
“Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first.” Luke 11:26 NKJV
Man healed at pool of Bethsesda and Jesus says to him
“See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.” John 5:14 NKJV
You do not get to pick which wicked demons come with the one you are allowing back in
For instance you allow in a spirit of drugs or alcohol and submit to it after deliverance. You do not get to decide which worst demons he gets to come back with
He may bring in fear, suicide walked in with him. He may bring with him lust
If you open back a door of lust and submit to it you do not get to decide and tell that spirit you only want lust for the opposite sex. That spirit may bring with it abnormal sexual desires
If you are taken over by a compromising spirit you do not get to decide what other spirits come with him
The church has fallen into the lap of compromise and now they want to say we will only allow this in and we will have power to say who can come with him
Well gross perversion has walked in with him.
After this the people say they want a sign of his authority. Luke 11:29
“And while the crowds were thickly gathered together, He began to say, “This is an evil generation. It seeks a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah the prophet. For as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so also the Son of Man will be to this generation.” Luke 11:29-30 NKJV
Jonah in the belly of the fish 3 days and 3 nights so Jesus was in the belly of the earth
Jonah dead for 3 days and resurrected so Jesus dead 3 days and resurrected
They wanted a sign to satisfy their inquisitive appetite but the Lord said the only sign will be his death and resurrection
Jonah so to speak died and rose again and then preached repent
No disaster befell Nineveh within the 40 days but indeed the city was transformed in that period as Jonah said it would, because the people listened to Jonah and repented. The wicked rebellious city of Nineveh was replaced with a righteous city, except that this transformation occurred not because of disaster but because of repentance.Interestingly, Nineveh eventually fell back into its wicked ways after the time of Jonah
Jesus died and rose again and His message was to repent through His church.
“Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.”. Acts 2:38, 40 NKJV
40 years after the Lord left the earth judgment fell as it did on Nineveh on Jerusalem
In all repentance is preached and salvation is provided to those who call on His Name. The threat of demonic power returning is there we must continue in the faith to the death

The World is a Graveyard | 5.28.23 | Sunday AM | On Fire Christian Church
The World is a Graveyard
The world is a vast moral graveyard! A graveyard is a burial ground for the dead! When humanity is born into existence they are born into a world of sin and death. This Bible says Satan is the god of this world
Being that Satan is the father of all lies and is a thief and a murderer therefore the characteristics of this world reflect satans character. This world is headed into death with all its inhabitants. No one will escape the grave and all are born into the graveyard of this dying and damned world.
The ultimate graveyard for the eternal dead !
“Hell from beneath is excited about you, To meet you at your coming; It stirs up the dead for you, Isaiah 14:9 NKJV
“As drought and heat consume the snow waters, So the grave consumes those who have sinned. The womb should forget him, The worm should feed sweetly on him; Job 24:19-20 NKJV
“Your pomp is brought down to Sheol, And the sound of your stringed instruments; The maggot is spread under you, And worms cover you.’”Isaiah 14:11 NKJV
““But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea. If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched— where ‘Their worm does not die And the fire is not quenched.’” Mark 9:42-44 NKJV
“So on a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat on his throne and gave an oration to them. And the people kept shouting, “The voice of a god and not of a man!” Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died.” Acts 12:21-23 NKJV
“And it shall come to pass That from one New Moon to another, And from one Sabbath to another, All flesh shall come to worship before Me,” says the Lord. “And they shall go forth and look Upon the corpses of the men Who have transgressed against Me. For their worm does not die, And their fire is not quenched. They shall be an abhorrence to all flesh.” Isaiah 66:23-24 NKJV
So if we are born into this moral graveyard and Romans 6:23 says the wages of sin is death and we all are sinners, what is the answer?
Ephesians 2:1 says we were dead in trespasses and sin
Mankind tries to perfume their dead corpse
From within the grave of death mankind takes God promises and utter them to the Lord yet the Lord would say….
“But to the wicked God says: “What right have you to declare My statutes, Or take My covenant in your mouth,” Psalms 50:16 NKJV
Romans 3:10. There is no one good
“friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.” James 4:4 NKJV
The only thing holding mankind back from an eternal damnation in hell is the heartbeat within their chest
Imagine being in this state of death with absolutely no hope. This seemingly chamber of death with no hope of ever getting out. Then you happen to hear these words
“For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will.” John 5:21 NKJV
This my friend is a drop of water and the only drop of water upon the tongue of a damned soul
The rich man in Luke 16 while in hell longed for a drop of water
This statement by the Father is a statement of truth. He raise me the dead
“For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.” John 5:22-23 NKJV
I’m told the way!
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live” John 5:24-25 NKJV
Pentecost is about the life of God coming upon a dead soul and making it alive
“for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.” John 5:28-29 NKJV
John 11:25. I am the resurrection
Mark 5:41 Jarius daughter he says arise
Luke 7:14 he stops a funeral procession of a young man and says “Get up”
God writes His laws upon our hearts when He awakens us
“But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” Jeremiah 31:33
“For the Lord has redeemed Jacob, And ransomed him from the hand of one stronger than he. Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, Streaming to the goodness of the Lord— For wheat and new wine and oil, For the young of the flock and the herd; Their souls shall be like a well-watered garden, And they shall sorrow no more at all. “Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, And the young men and the old, together; For I will turn their mourning to joy, Will comfort them, And make them rejoice rather than sorrow. I will satiate the soul of the priests with abundance, And My people shall be satisfied with My goodness, says the Lord.” Jeremiah 31:11-14 NKJV

Tithing Honors My King | 5.21.23 | Sunday PM | On Fire Christian Church
Tithing Honors My King
“This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” Hebrews 6:19-20 NKJV
Priests according to the law of Moses had to be from the tribe or order of Levi
After Abrams victory “Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. And he blessed him and said: “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” And he gave him a tithe of all.” Genesis 14:18-20 NKJV
Melchizedek was without beginning or end of days, so it means This person who was King of Salem/Jerusalem
Theophany-God appearing in human form in Old Testament
Jesus shows up and talks with Abram about Sodom and is one of 3 strangers Genesis 18
Jacob wrestled with an Angel who was Jesus
The voice who spoke to Moses in Burning Bush
4th man in furnace
Melchizedek King of Salem
“For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all, first being translated “king of righteousness,” and then also king of Salem, meaning “king of peace,” without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually.” Hebrews 7:1-3 NKJV
thus acknowledging that in dignity of office Melchizedek was greatly his superior
From this it is evident that the propriety of devoting a tenth part of what was possessed to God, was regarded as a duty before the appointment of the Levitical law.
Even Jacob,Abrahams grandson picked up on this and said he would pay tithes
“Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me, and keep me in this way that I am going, and give me bread to eat and clothing to put on, And this stone which I have set as a pillar shall be God’s house, and of all that You give me I will surely give a tenth to You.” Genesis 28:20, 22 NKJV
We never hear of Melchizedek before or after
“The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” The Lord shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of Your enemies! Your people shall be volunteers In the day of Your power; In the beauties of holiness, from the womb of the morning, You have the dew of Your youth. The Lord has sworn And will not relent, “You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek.” The Lord is at Your right hand; He shall execute kings in the day of His wrath.” Psalms 110:1-5 NKJV
This Psalm talks of Jesus
Therefore if Abraham paid tithes therefore so we do as well to our Priest Jesus!
Jesus received tithes from Abram and so from us
Through the law then God institutes and elaborates on the tithe
Malachi 3:10. The heart of the people had fallen away through their giving

Time's Up! | 5.21.23 | Sunday AM | On Fire Christian Church
Time's Up!
We live in what is called the dispensation of Grace. It is a season that followed a season of law. The door of grace is open to all to come into the kingdom of God by faith in the blood of Jesus! But it is a season! One day that season will close and the door will be closed.
“In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” John 14:2-3 NKJV
Jesus is coming again, this is the blessed hope of our salvation taught all through the word
“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,”Titus 2:11-13 NKJV
“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.” I Thessalonians 4:16-17
When?
““But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.”. Matthew 24:36-42 NKJV
“Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” Matthew 24:44 NKJV
We should be expecting this day so that when it comes it’s no surprise
“But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.”. I Thessalonians 5:4-11 NKJV
The feasts of God were given as appointments
“The Lord spoke again to Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The appointed times (established feasts) of the Lord which you shall proclaim as holy convocations—My appointed times are these:” Leviticus 23:1-2 AMP
The Lord has used in times past the feasts to prepare us for a visitation
Passover-Jesus death buried and resurrection
Pentecost- a harvest feast - Holy Spirit came
Switch gears to the fact that the Lord has been gone from this planet for 2000 years
“Nevertheless, do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like one day. The Lord does not delay [as though He were unable to act] and is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is [extraordinarily] patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:8-9 AMP
“On the third day there was a wedding at Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there;”. John 2:1 AMP
‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’” Revelation 19:9 NKJV
Since first Pentecost in 30 A.D. it has been 7 years short of two thousand years 2030 marks two thousand years
2000 year or two day prophecies
“Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure. Do not come near it, that you may know the way by which you must go, for you have not passed this way before.” Joshua 3:4 NKJV
“I will return again to My place Till they acknowledge their offense. Then they will seek My face; In their affliction they will earnestly seek Me.”. Hosea 5:15 NKJV
“Come, and let us return to the Lord; For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up. After two days He will revive us; On the third day He will raise us up, That we may live in His sight. Let us know, Let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, Like the latter and former rain to the earth.”. Hosea 6:1-3 NKJV
Israel cut off and revived the 3rd day during Millennium reign
“On that very day some Pharisees came, saying to Him, “Get out and depart from here, for Herod wants to kill You.” And He said to them, “Go, tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.’” Luke 13:31-32 NKJV
The church age for 2k years
John 2 the wedding the first miracle of wine representing the outpouring of the Spirit.
“And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!” John 2:10
The best wine till last is what the Lord is telling us
“Be glad then, you children of Zion, And rejoice in the Lord your God; For He has given you the former rain faithfully, And He will cause the rain to come down for you— The former rain, And the latter rain in the first month. The threshing floors shall be full of wheat, And the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil.” Joel 2:23-24
If God is saving the best wine for last we should be looking and pleading with expectation for His harvest
First thing after the wedding of Cana he went into the temple to clean it up
“Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” John 2:19 NKJV
The moment they crucified Jesus till now has been 2k years and He about to raise it up
First thing after first outpouring of Spirit at Pentecost was go into the world to make disciples.
Latter rain is coming and then This worlds time is up
Time is running out! Christ's return is eminent! It’s closer than we think!
