Holiness Fruit of God's People
“Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled; lest there be any fornicator or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright. For you know that afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought it diligently with tears.” Hebrews 12:14-17 NKJV
God has called all who would follow Him to be holy
Holy-set apart different from the world
No turning back, Don’t be like Esau
Fornicator or profane-treating Gods business with no importance
if we should despise our privileges as Esau did his birth-right, and renounce our religion, it would be impossible to recover what we had lost. There would be no possibility of changing the divine decision in the case, for it would be determined forever. This passage, therefore, should not be alleged to show that a sinner. “cannot repent,” or that he cannot find "place for repentance," or assistance to enable him to repent, or that tears and sorrow for sin would be of no avail, for it teaches none of these things; but it should be used to keep us from disregarding our privileges, from turning away from the true religion, from slighting the favors of the gospel, and from neglecting religion until death comes; because when God has once pronounced a sentence excluding us from his favor, no tears, or pleading, or effort of our own can change him. The sentence which he pronounces on the scoffer, the impenitent, the hypocrite, and the apostate, is one that will abide forever without change. This passage, therefore, is in accordance with the doctrine more than once stated before in this Epistle, that if a Christian should really apostatize it would be impossible that he should be saved;
Esau took a position for granted and that is very dangerous
“For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.” II Peter 2:20-22 NKJV
“For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.” Hebrews 6:4-6 NKJV
Because of so great a salvation We are called to holiness and denial of flesh which is the ways of this world
“work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;” Philippians 2:12 NKJV
“knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.” Romans 6:6 NKJV
Rendered powerless
“casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,” II Corinthians 10:5 NKJV
“Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them.” Colossians 3:5-7 NKJV
As believers we are to put to death self, which is a brutal, violent act from believers who once lived in disobedience. The modern church has become a social club for what will God do for me in 2023. How can me serving God serve my needs? Remember behind idolatry is an actual demon that receives the worship. So we as Christians are to make sure we are putting to death the desires of the devil not using God to get actually what we want. Holiness is not to be sacrificed on an altar for self preservation. He called believers to be disciples, followers! A disciple a follower that would be led to oppose a system that hated God. A system, a breath that opposes the will of the living God. Therefore the only way to stay true to the living God would be to put to death carnality. Apathy and compromise have become the idols of the American Church!
Your enemy—-Apathy-Lack of interest or concern, especially regarding matters of general importance or appeal; indifference. Lack of emotion or feeling; impassiveness. Want of feeling; absence or suppression of passion, emotion, or excitement; insensibility; indifference.

Practical Christianity 3 Obedience
“He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” John 14:21 NKJV
“Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.” I John 2:3-4 NKJV
Obedience is proof of knowing God
“Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day.” Psalms 25:4-5 NKJV
Learn God's ways and paths
Life or death is up to us
Blessing or curse
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. Do not be like the horse or like the mule, Which have no understanding, Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, Else they will not come near you. Many sorrows shall be to the wicked; But he who trusts in the Lord, mercy shall surround him.” Psalms 32:8-10 NKJV
God's ways first of all are death to self
“Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.” Luke 9:23-24 NKJV
“that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.” Ephesians 4:22-24 NKJV
Our desire last are contrary to God's ways.
Everyday living must be submitted to God
Believers obey in daily living
Working
“For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat. For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies. Now those who are such we command and exhort through our Lord Jesus Christ that they work in quietness and eat their own bread. But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary in doing good. And if anyone does not obey our word in this epistle, note that person and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet do not count him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother." II Thessalonians 3:10-15
“But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." I Timothy 5:8 NKJV
Gambling
Love one another
Gambling disregards responsible stewardship and the work ethic and involves gain at someone else’s expense. Gambling tends to distract us from actually taking the steps to improve our situation through education, new job, harder work, or new opportunities. Deep down there is a side to us that thinks that all of the wrongs in our lives could be corrected with a big win in the lottery.“If only I won the lottery, I wouldn’t have any more problems.”
Even casual gambling is poor stewardship, because that money could go toward something good, like feeding the poor. Instead it’s going toward nothing. There should be no place for even casual, “recreational” gambling in the life of a Christian. Any money, however small, spent on gambling, brings along with it the greed, illusions, and sinful desires that accompany those who gamble large amounts.
You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or hismanservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor. (Exodus 20:17)
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. (1 Timothy 6:10)
Giving
Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others. (1 Corinthians 10:24)
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.(Philippians 2:3-4)
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 9:6-7)
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. (Luke 6:38)

Applying Gods ways into our daily living!
Words and actions
A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. (Proverbs 15:1)
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer. (Psalm 19:14)
And the Lord’s servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth. (2 Timothy 2:24-25)
Applying Christs ways into our relationships
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35
By love they will know you are His
“And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32 NKJV
Tender- soft or delicate in substance not hard or rough
Having a mannerism or mercy toward others
Always cutting people slack
“But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so?” Matthew 5:44-47 NKJV
Friendships • A relationship between a man and a woman must begin as a friendship. • The key to all relationships is communication. • Communication can be verbal or non-verbal. • About 80-90% of all communication is non-verbal. • Women describe friendships in terms of feelings and relationships. • Men describe friendships in terms of activities and accomplishments. Dating and Courtship • Three questions to ask yourself before you go on a date: o What am I trying to accomplish? (Are my motives right?) o How am I going to accomplish those goals? o What are the boundaries I am setting ahead of time? • On a date, are you more concerned about your own happiness or about focusing on the other person? • God’s plan for your life may be for you to be single. (1 Corinthians 7:7-9) • True love is not a feeling; it is a commitment to wanting the best for another person, even at your own expense. (1 Corinthians 13:4-7) • As a relationship develops, be careful to recognize the difference between love and physical attraction. • Compatibility is never properly tested by living together. o No commitment = inability to fully trust the other person. o Wrong test = often viewed as mainly sexual compatibility. o People who live together before marriage have an 80% greater chance of divorce than those who didn’t. • The key in a relationship is to love and respect the other person rather than using them. • In a relationship, we all need to establish no trespassing zones. o NTZ’s could also be called the “I will not’s!” o Everyone needs a set of godly standards for conduct. o Call them the “unshakable unbreakables.” • God designed physical contact between men and women to be progressive—it takes tremendous discipline to stop in the middle. o Holding hands can lead to kissing. o Kissing can lead to inappropriate touching. o Inappropriate touching can lead to a sexual relationship. • Be very cautious of promises made during courtship. • Be very cautious of personality and conduct changes observed during courtship and engagement. Marriage • Never marry someone with the thought that you can change them. • Very often, marriages unite people with different temperaments. o One is a thinker and the other is a feeler o One is an extrovert and the other is an introvert o One is structured and the other is more free- flowing o One is intuitive and the other is sensing o One is judging and the other is perceiving o One is a night person and the other is a morning person • The most frequent cause of marital conflict is money. o How to spend it o Saving and giving o Financial accountability to each other • Marriage must be “ours,” not “yours and mine.” • Marriage is forever; divorce is not an option.

Practical Christianity
“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” James 1:22 NKJV
Practical Christianity is simply practicing being Christ like in all areas of our life
A man leaves his business in the hands of someone to look after things while he is gone. When he returns, he asked the one he left in charge, did you get my letters and read my instructions? Yes, he replied I received them, and I read them.
How could it be that this man received the letters and read them, and the business was in such a mess. It is because he read them and did not do anything. What good are reading the letters if you are not going to do anything.
“Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.” James 1:21-25 NKJV
Practicing being Christ like…. In words and actions
Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. (James 1:19-21)
But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. (Matthew 12:36)
“But I want you to be without care. He who is unmarried cares for the things of the Lord—how he may please the Lord. But he who is married cares about the things of the world—how he may please his wife. There is a difference between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman cares about the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But she who is married cares about the things of the world—how she may please her husband.” I Corinthians 7:32-34 NKJV
Practicing be Christ like
“Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.” Philippians 2:3 NKJV
“Let no one seek his own, but each one the other’s well-being.” I Corinthians 10:24 NKJV
“To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices to Me?” Says the Lord. “I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams And the fat of fed cattle. I do not delight in the blood of bulls, Or of lambs or goats. “When you come to appear before Me, Who has required this from your hand, To trample My courts? Bring no more futile sacrifices; Incense is an abomination to Me. The New Moons, the Sabbaths, and the calling of assemblies— I cannot endure iniquity and the sacred meeting. Your New Moons and your appointed feasts My soul hates; They are a trouble to Me, I am weary of bearing them. When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; Even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood. “Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil,” Isaiah 1:11-16 NKJV

Yom Kippur 2023 The Day Of Judgment | 9.24.23 | Sunday AM | On Fire Christian Church
Yom Kippur 2023 The Day Of Judgment
Yom Kippur or the Day of Atonement or the day of Judgement!
Holiest day of the Jewish Feasts! The priest would be allowed to enter the Holy of Holies one time a year to atone for the people’s sins
It was to be taken seriously as if not the priest could die behind the veil as he entered
It is a dress rehearsal feast
It is the second coming of Jesus where the wicked are judged
Wicked, judged at Christ’s return
“Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” Jude 1:14-15 NKJV
“Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.” Revelation 19:11-16
During Yom Kippur the Jews would read from the book of Jonah
Why? Because Yom Kippur or the day of atonement was about repentance
Like Jonah who ran from God and tried to ignore his own fault
Finally confessed his fault and threw himself in God’s mercy
Like Jonah, we often try to cover up our weaknesses and mistakes
Like Jonah, we, upon loading the ship, look like we have it together “I’m Good”
At Yom Kippur we’re reminded that we are anything but holy
We look over the sins that haunt and do not try to cover them up as Adam and Eve covered their shame.
The Day of Atonement is about our being able to openly bring our failings to God so that He can remove them.
In English, atonement has also been coined “at-one-ment” because it makes us at one with God. A sacrifice for sin is necessary in order for us to have this “at-one-ness” with the Lord
“And the Lord said to Moses: “Tell Aaron your brother not to come at just any time into the Holy Place inside the veil, before the mercy seat which is on the ark, lest he die; for I will appear in the cloud above the mercy seat.” Leviticus 16:2 NKJV
We are to confess before a holy God our weakness and seek His atonement
We believe that though God sees right through our hearts like He saw through Jonah’s, He still loves us. And Yom Kippur is a chance to celebrate how He has dealt with our sins and healed us through the gift of atonement.
1 John 1:9 “if we confess”
God’s plan is not to judge us with the wicked we will escape his day of wrath
“For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.” I Thessalonians 5:9-11 NKJV
“Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.” Romans 5:9 NKJV
“Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience,” Colossians 3:5-6
“But the Lord is the true God; He is the living God and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth will tremble, and the nations will not be able to endure His indignation.” Jeremiah 10:10 NKJV

Dress Rehearsal, Our Preparation | 9.17.23 | Sunday AM | On Fire Christian Church
Dress Rehearsal, Our Preparation
“Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife.” And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” Revelation 19:7-9 NKJV
Feast of Trumpets will one day kick off the marriage supper of the lamb
in Rev 19:7-10 John begins to see heaven rejoicing in his vision as he see the marriage supper of the land about to begin
Marriage customs of Jesus day point to the plan of God
These wedding customs had three major parts. First, a marriage contract was signed by the parents of the bride and the bridegroom, and the parents of the bridegroom or the bridegroom himself would pay a dowry to the bride or her parents. This began what was called the betrothal period—what we would today call the engagement. This period was the one Joseph and Mary were in when she was found to be with child
The second step in the process usually occurred much later, when the bridegroom, accompanied by his male friends, went to the house of the bride. If he came in the night, he and his companions would create a torchlight parade through the streets. The bride would know in advance this was going to take place, and so she would be ready with her maidens, and they would all join the parade and end up at the bridegroom’s home. This custom is the basis of the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25:1–13.
Matt 22:1 a king throws a wedding feast for his son
Good and bad
King came to see the guests-inspect
A man without a wedding garment
An exclusion from the marriage supper
Throw that man to outer darkness
This parable was about preparation for the marriage
Matthew 25 10 virgins
In order to understand this parable, we must remember that here is an allusion
John 14:1 Jesus shares of His leaving and returning I go to prepare a new lace for you! In a marriage a father during the betrothal would prepare a home for the new couple. The disciples would know this custom.
Be prepared
Marriage supper
The Lord has gone to prepare a place!
For 2000 years souls have been being invited in
While we live we are preparing our lives for. An eternity with the King
“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”. II Corinthians 3:18 NKJV
Becoming more like Jesus!
“whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.” II Corinthians 4:4 NKJV
People who practice certain things will not enter or inherit the Kingdom (1 Corinthians 6:9-10), and even Revelation lists those that aren’t invited to the party (Revelation 21:8).
“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.” I Corinthians 6:9-10
“But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”. Revelation 21:8 NKJV
The secret to escaping condemnation (and, more importantly, being in the Marriage Supper of the Lamb) is to stay in Christ, walking by the Spirit and be ready for the trumpet sound!
“Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O Lord, in the light of Your countenance. In Your name they rejoice all day long, And in Your righteousness they are exalted. For You are the glory of their strength, And in Your favor our horn is exalted.” Psalms 89:15-17 NKJV
The Hidden Day! | 9.13.23 | Wednesday | On Fire Christian Church
The Hidden Day!
“Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it, saying, “If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side, and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation.” Luke 19:41-44 NKJV
Jesus was approaching Jerusalem and what was happening was hidden from them because they didn’t recognize the time of His visitation
The 5th feast of Israel is called the feast of Trumpets
Yom Hakeseh – The Hidden Day / It was ‘hidden’ because they didn’t know the exact day it would begin due to the fact that it is the only feast that starts on a new moon. Thus it was a two day feast because they didn’t want to celebrate it on the wrong day. Concerning Rosh HaShanah, the Jews would typically say “Of that day and hour no one knows.”
Yom Teruah - biblical name is this!
A worldly view from Babylon is that this is their new year! A diabolical attack to cover or conceal its true purpose kind of like Easter would to the resurrection
“Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.” Leviticus 23:24 NKJV
Because was the first day of moon cycle no one new the exact day it would appear
Matthew 25:36. No one knows the day nor the hour
Therefore this feast was hidden, it would cause the seeker to be prepared as he awaits the revealing of the moon in order to celebrate
If one was not concerned or distracted he would not prepare
The coming of Messiah
1 Thessalonians 4:16
“Not a hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned or shot with an arrow; whether man or beast, he shall not live.’ When the trumpet sounds long, they shall come near the mountain.” So Moses went down from the mountain to the people and sanctified the people, and they washed their clothes. And he said to the people, “Be ready for the third day; do not come near your wives.” Then it came to pass on the third day, in the morning, that there were thunderings and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain; and the sound of the trumpet was very loud, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled. And Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet with God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain. Now Mount Sinai was completely in smoke, because the Lord descended upon it in fire. Its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly. And when the blast of the trumpet sounded long and became louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by voice.” Exodus 19:13-19 NKJV
I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. (1 Corinthians 15:50-52)
Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O Lord, in the light of Your countenance. In Your name they rejoice all day long psalm 89:15
“Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.” Ephesians 5:14 NKJV
Your dead will live; their bodies will rise. Awake and sing, you who dwell in the dust! For you will be covered with the morning dew, and the earth will bring out the departed spirits. (Isaiah 26:19)
Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, And the Lord listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written before Him For those who fear the Lord And who meditate on His name.“They shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts, “On the day that I make them My jewels. And I will spare them As a man spares his own son who serves him.” (Malachi 3:16-17)
“There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment, a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, who gave alms generously to the people, and prayed to God always. About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming in and saying to him, “Cornelius!” And when he observed him, he was afraid, and said, “What is it, Lord?” So he said to him, “Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God.”Acts 10:1-4 NKJV
For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock. (Psalm 27:5)
Stay alert
““Be on guard and stay constantly alert [and pray]; for you do not know when the appointed time will come. It is like a man away on a journey, who when he left home put his servants in charge, each with his particular task, and also ordered the doorkeeper to be continually alert. Therefore, be continually on the alert—for you do not know when the master of the house is coming, whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning— [stay alert,] in case he should come suddenly and unexpectedly and find you asleep and unprepared. What I say to you I say to everyone, ‘Be on the alert [stay awake and be continually cautious]!’ ” Mark 13:33-37 AMP

I Should be disqualified...But God!
“For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am. I Corinthians 15:9-10 NKJV
By the grace of God I am what I am!
Like Paul when we look at our past is disqualifies us from any sense of demand that we may place on God!
We have no room to think we are deserving!
Paul said I am the least
Paul said I am not worthy
Unworthy before God of anything
“When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!” Luke 5:8 NKJV
“And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” Luke 18:13-14
John 8:1 woman caught in adultery
Before she was caught she wasn’t thinking about being guilty or worthy
But when she was caught and when she was going to have to be made accountable fear gripped her soul
Why was Paul not worthy?
Because He persecuted the church
Paul said He was not worthy of a position of an Apostle in the church because He persecuted the church
The devil will always bring up your past sin to try to disqualify you from your place!
I am the least, I am not worthy, because!
But! The grace of God!
The grace of God overrides Paul’s guilt!
Paul battled his guilt daily
His guilt for his past plagued him and would have paralyzed him if he would have believed it
But instead he trusted in the grace of God
Grace comes thru the death of Christ Jesus
I am what I am!
“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” II Corinthians 5:21 NKJV
“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5:1-2 NKJV
I am what I am
A new creation in Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17
“Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14 NKJV
Christ has made me!
“Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.” Psalms 100:3 NKJV
Paul said I am what I am by His grace
Your past does not define your position
Only through unbelief can we be disqualified
When we believe the doubts and do not trust in Christ's grace
I should be disqualified, but I am what I am !
