Armitage AMV
A video I originally made sometime in 2004. The last music video or really any video editing I ever did.
The new video to celebrate the launch of the site. Might be a little rough around the edges after my 2.5 year break, but I like it. Deinterlacing this movie was a nightmare though, and the quality didn't turn out quite as nice as I had hoped. On top of that, the movie has a horrible range of brightness. Some scenes are too bright, some scenes are practically 100% black. I had to make heavy use of the Levels filter to average these scenes out, and for the most part this worked wonders. On the bright side, all three forms of synchronization were used at one point or another.
F-ZeroGX AMV
A video I originally made sometime between 2001 and 2004.
My third foray into video game editing. Both FMV and realtime footage was used, featuring some of my custom vehicles. The lyrics themselves were extremely generous with me this time. I was able to find a match to practically every line, all the while keeping with the tone of the song, and maintaining the beats. I'm very pleased with this one, and it motivates me to make more game videos, in an effort to promote other underrated titles like this one.
CowboyBebopMovie AMV
A video I originally made sometime between 2001 and 2004.
The closest I've come to making a full blown, traditional style trailer. Real short and sweet. It was about a 10 hour project, and was the first time I attempted editing raw VOB files from the DVD.
Hellsing AMV
A video I originally made sometime between 2001 and 2004.
Simplistic, pattern-based editing fuels this entry. If there was a video that would be the prime example of my style, this would be it. No flair. Nothing fancy. Most of the effort went into matching the tones, and making a parody of the lyrics. Watch it with an open mind.
PrincessMononoke AMV
A video I originally made sometime between 2001 and 2004.
This is a remake of a video by Brad Demoss. He was one of the big name editors before the scene really kicked off, and he was responsible for some of the main videos that inspired me. Subtlety is the word for this video, or at least the majority of it. Extremely simple editing was used again. The same clips that Brad's original had were used, unless I felt that there were better ones to be inserted for any given segment. Once the song picks up near the end, editing becomes extremely tight, and I did my best to time each clip's actions accurately. This portion becomes very chaotic, and should resemble modern day trailers for action movies.
CowboyBebop AMV
A video I originally made sometime between 2001 and 2004.
This one was a blast to make. It was created over a 10 hour period, and one of the only times where editing the video was as fun as viewing it. The clips literally glided to their destinations. The key idea with this video, (similar with my previous video titled "Hurt Like You"), was to find new ways to match up sound to movement. I really thought hard about what key areas of the screen your eyes might be attracted to during the given clip. I know there is a lot of fanboy hatred torwords this band, and they aren't exactly a favorite of mine either. But I think that this hobby is not always about promoting the music that you love. Sometimes it's more important to pick the song that best goes with the aim of the video.
Akira AMV
A video I originally made sometime between 2001 and 2004.
This is a remake of a music video that was made by Eric, who once co-ran a site by the name of Otaku Vengeance. Back around 2000, it was quite a successful AMV site. Between Eric and Lord Rae, you could find some of the greatest videos made at that time. Back when I made this, he was quite happy about it. After viewing it, he actually spoke the words "Your vid completely blows mine out of the water!". So it was an honor.
SoulCalibur AMV
A video I originally made sometime between 2001 and 2004.
My own little intro to one of my favorite fighting games. This was the first video I made on the first computer I built myself. It wasn't a grand project. I spent only 6 hours on this. Mainly, I wanted to get a feel for how Premiere operated on a much more powerful system. All of the clips were taken from each of the characters' demonstration modes, as well as their roles in the game's customizable introduction sequence.
ChronoTrigger&EvangelionUnfinished AMV
A video I originally made sometime between 2001 and 2004.
The remains of 2 very good videos I was working on. Unfortunantly, I decided to quit them because I was getting frustrated with making vids in general. Anyways, I used footage from the End of Eva movie, and then FMV clips as well as game footage from Chrono Cross for the Sony Playstation. The Eva video is a very good candidate for a remake in the future. Also, there is a little hiccup at 0:42, and the footage gets scrambled for a second. I cannot repair it at this point, because I don't have the source version.
BerserkUnfinished AMV
A video I originally made sometime between 2001 and 2004.
A project that simply became too grand for me to handle. I litterally spent dozens of hours capturing specific clips from all 25 episodes in this series. I had ideas flying all over. I had finished all of the capturing, and the first third of the editing, and I just came to a halt. The ideas vanished. The motivation escaped. Then I spent 2 weeks sitting at this spot on the timeline, unable to find any more matching clips. I literally "Berserked" myself to death. This video serves as a good reminder to never get in over my head and to never plan TOO far ahead. I'm more of a linear editor, and it shows. I can only operate from start to finish. If I look too far ahead, I forget what I'm doing in the present.
StreetFighterAlpha AMV
A video I originally made sometime between 2001 and 2004.
The first video in which I was entirely dedicated to finding new ways to sync up movement with audio. If you can look past the poor VHS quality and terribly overused music, you should be impressed at quite a few particular areas. However, if there is any real connection between this movie and the theme of the lyrics, I sure haven't found it. I just wasn't aiming for that. One other thing to note is the intro was made out of about 210 individual screenshots which I actually took manually from my DVD collection. This was initially done because my old site, Saiya-Jin Lounge, had a screenshot section, where those were posted at.
RurouniKenshin AMV
A video I originally made sometime between 2001 and 2004.
Not all that impressive in any way, or original. The song had been used countless times before, including outside the realm of AMVs. I mostly keep it here because it was the first video I made after being initially granted broadband internet, which means it's the first video where I could export the project out at such a large file size, and completely ignore the nasty Real Player format, which all prior videos were in.
Zero vs Sigma AMV
One of the videos I made around 2000 or prior, which I don't consider worth watching, but I am backing them up regardless. You must understand, this was an age when we were recording footage off of poor quality VHS tapes, often copied dozens of times with fan-subtitles embedded, sometimes even imported from Japan at a high cost. We only had dialup internet and RealPlayer codec compression to share our videos to the internet back then. Forgive how bad this looks, I beg you.
Of particular note to this video: I just lazily decided to mash something here for the epic Zero vs Sigma fight. For Megaman fans, this was about as brutal as the 30 something year franchise ever got. Zero's virus sperging out, putting Sigma in his place with literal PLUMBING? Come on. You cant beat that. Your lightsaber is no match for my PVC. No wonder I spent half my life with an alias named after this character. Anyway, it's just Rob Zombie. Who cares?
Shinji Special AMV
One of the videos I made around 2000 or prior, which I don't consider worth watching, but I am backing them up regardless. You must understand, this was an age when we were recording footage off of poor quality VHS tapes, often copied dozens of times with fan-subtitles embedded, sometimes even imported from Japan at a high cost. Of particular note to this video: Unapologetically the worst thing I ever made and didn't delete. Lets not name the band I picked. I was probably just blinded by this show at the time and I thought anything could work with it. I mean, I was a 14 year old watching a show about 14 year olds, editing their footage to a song. I didn't know what I was doing.
Isamu Vs Guld AMV
One of the videos I made around 2000 or prior, which I don't consider worth watching, but I am backing them up regardless. You must understand, this was an age when we were recording footage off of poor quality VHS tapes, often copied dozens of times with fan-subtitles embedded, sometimes even imported from Japan at a high cost. Of particular note to this video: Probably the most obnoxiously obvious music video pick I ever did. Danger Zone. But at the time, I still feel like I did it best. I am sure I was quickly overshadowed.
Trunks Special AMV
One of the videos I made around 2000 or prior, which I don't consider worth watching, but I am backing them up regardless. You must understand, this was an age when we were recording footage off of poor quality VHS tapes, often copied dozens of times with fan-subtitles embedded, sometimes even imported from Japan at a high cost. Of particular note to this video: This was one of the few videos where I decided I'd rather have censored clean footage from cable TV, rather than uncensored dirty footage from 10x copied VHS tapes. This was right when Funimation finally brought new DBZ episodes to cable TV many years after us hardcore nerds have seen the entire show in Japanese. Forgive the censorship.
Megaman X4 Remix AMV
One of the videos I made around 2000 or prior, which I don't consider worth watching, but I am backing them up regardless. You must understand, this was an age when we were recording footage off of poor quality VHS tapes, often copied dozens of times with fan-subtitles embedded, sometimes even imported from Japan at a high cost. Of particular note to this video: Ripped from the PS1 FMVs, its hard to explain how cool I thought this new edge was in the MMX series. Zero, the violence, the Blade Runner dilemma. Megaman X4 was an amazing game. Hardcore shit. I was attempting to give it the edge it deserved with this one.
Majin Vegeta Vs. Goku 4 AMV
Of particular note to this video: This is among the oldest videos I have in my possession that I have not lost since late 1998/early 1999. Its absolutely awful but I'm glad I have it. I have faint memories of making other videos prior to this, but this was among the first I released on the internet. The surrounding 3 videos in this series are equally terrible, but still, I am glad I have them.
Majin Vegeta Vs. Goku 3 AMV

This is also the most insane and nonsensical music choice I ever picked. It makes no sense. Dont think too hard about about it. But I will always defend ICP for their lyrical and instrumental talents.
Majin Vegeta Vs. Goku 2 AMV

Of particular note to this video: I can only apologize for my Korn obsession.
Goku Vs Metal Cooler AMV

Of particular note to this video: I mean, the entire thing was a play on Freeza also calling Goku a monkey, so what better than his vengeful brother to star on Goku's beatdown?

For whatever reason, the audio on this one isn't up to spec. I cant recall why.
