The first GUESS Fashion Show in Mexico was an unforgettable experience that celebrated the arrival of spring in all its splendor. From the majestic setting of Casa del Lago, we were transported to a world of fashion and creativity, surrounded by the Chapultepec Forest and a red carpet adorned with exquisite flowers. "Hermès took over Pier 36, a cavernous event space sandwiched between FDR Drive and the East River, and transformed it into a one-night-only club to showcase Nadège Vanhée's latest. (This isn't technically the brand's first show in New York City: It staged a menswear runway in Williamsburg in September.) There were some interesting deconstructed versions of his opening uniforms worn as cloaks belted from the shoulder. The belting continued to tighten its grip as this collection’s defining motif, used loosely on a long mustard-toned organza dress and in silk-shot menswear suiting. A green knit dress that loosely self-belted around the body and a green belted parka with a tonal, Tetris-esque pattern were lighter, lovely pieces. "Ralph Lauren has a definitive penchant for sticking to his version of the classics. Think: all-American wardrobe staples punctuated by old-school prep and Western influences. For the designer’s fall/holiday 2024 show at his private design studio in New York City, he did just that. Anthony Vaccarello, Saint Laurent Artistic, creative and image director, is responsible for some of the most incredible menswear spectacles in recent years. Here you have a sublime parade of outstanding tailoring; a show worthy of Paris Fashion Week.

"How does a modernist, minimalist designer like Neil Barrett adapt to menswear’s swing to old-school and outdoorsy elements like tweeds, loden and Wellington-like footwear? Splendidly. His fall show was strong, cleverly incorporating small but evocative details from hunting and workwear into his sleek fashion universe. Elbow patches slipped down and slid forward, adding a graphic zing to mohair sweaters and loden bombers. Barrett reprised the tabs found on the bottom of hunting trousers on gloves, and an array of pant silhouettes, most of them short and hovering above ankle boots, a key shoe this Milan season. Backstage, Barrett name checked two dukes: the Duke of Devonshire and David Bowie’s Thin White Duke persona as metaphors for tradition and contemporary culture, respectively. “The old fusing with new,” he said, adding that he was also thinking of how young men might adapt items from their granddad’s wardrobe."
