Life purpose varies from every individual. Yet we often don't realize our life purpose because we are too absorbed in other things.
We could be eating right, exercising and eating supplements. But if we're not plugging into our spiritual health or not finding out our purpose is in life it is useless. What's the point in life if we're not living our path?

How An Aussie End Up in Japan
Leigh Martinuzzi had an amazing journey before he settled in Japan. Hence, he left a corporate life to help people find their life purpose.
"I lived in Japan 10 years ago when I was single and no kids. Two Christmases ago, we thought of going on to explore Japan because I had connections here. It was an easy decision and we moved to Japan within a few months," said Martinuzzi.
Comfortably adjusted by now, he has no regrets. "Consequently, we're living the life. And I love the experience and adventure. Just to have the ability to do allows me to grow. Since we also wanted the kids to grow up in a new culture," shares Martinuzzi.
Becoming A Coach
Martinuzzi realized a corporate life was not for him.
"I felt that disconnect and I was introduced to a podcast. First of all, outside work, I was doing things that didn't add value to my life. Therefore, I brought back writing back into my life," Martinuzzi said.
He then realized his life purpose. Hence, he has his own podcast to share what he has learned to help other people do the same.
Finding Your Life Purpose: The Hidden Why
Martinuzzi says if we don't express ourselves and really let out what we're learning, we miss out on a big part of life. Furthermore, expression is one of the keys to great meaning.
And it makes so much sense. Just recently, Easter just happened and my friend invited me to her church service. It was totally out of my norm because I was raised Anglican. Because I wasn't used to a liberal and uplifting service. Yet the minister said something that hit me hard.
He was talking about redemption. He said if there's something you really don't want, like being homeless or depressed, take that as your purpose to help people in that situation you don't want to be in. I was thinking about charities for children after that. Most noteworthy, I felt a calling.
This is the perfect question to ask ourselves---What is it that I hate to suffer from? How can I help others not suffer from it?

Hello, True Health Seekers! One thing we're not talking about today is food. Rather, we're going to talk about healing beyond food.
Personally, I feel like my audience is a lot like me. We've tried everything. We've been on every diet, whether it be soy free or vegan. For some of us, we swung from one side of the spectrum to the other when it comes to diet and emotional eating. And yet we still can't find the missing pieces to healing.
This is where we really need to go within and see what's going on. To discover if there are some components that have nothing to do with food and that can heal my body.

The Wake-up Call
Holistic Nutrition Expert and Transformation Coach, Shana Ekedal is an educator and a trailblazer in the area of mind, body, and spirit wellness. At the tender age of 10, her parents divorced. She started emotional eating, basically having an unhealthy lifestyle.
"The real wake-up call happened when I was diagnosed with skin cancer on the bridge of my nose," says Ekedal. "Oftentimes we don't realize things until we have a physical ailment going on."
Ekedal eventually started the road to healing. She did a self-evaluation which questioned why she was abusing her body with emotional eating.
Taking The First Step
"Most of the time, we want to know what the end result is. It really made me trust in making the first step and then more will reveal itself," she shares.
I totally agree with Ekedal. We just have to be open to the guidance and opportunity that is coming our way. We should set our minds to eat better. If we do, it consequently becomes this gateway where all these other things are opening up. Some gateways to healing our body are yoga, meditation, cycling class, going vegan and many more.
How To Stop Emotional Eating
Ekedal's journey to healing took her seven years. This was because she tried a lot of things that didn't work. Or the stuff that wasn't working were the stuff she didn't need. Eventually, she resolved to help others as well.
I believe that when you're a healer, you're like a sales manager. You end up doing what you love doing which is helping people. When you think about, say for example---real estate, that is a huge transition in someone else's life.

Alan Bell Is The New Erin Brokovich - Alan Bell & Ashley James - #124
Alan Bell: From Victim To Superhero http://learntruehealth.com/alan-bell/
Alan Bell is the author of Poisoned. It tells how a prosecutor turned his medical mystery into a crusade for environmental victims.
I have a lot of guests who have stressed the negative effects of environmental toxins from chemicals to ordinary items such as make-up. People are getting sick and doctors are making them drink lots of medicines.
Successful Prosecutor
"I was a prosecutor in South Florida in the 80s. That time, they were filming 'Miami Vice' and I was there. Suddenly I came down with really bizarre medical symptoms. I started getting a sore throat, my eyes started burning me, my lungs started burning," Alan Bell said.allan bell
It progressed to the point where Alan Bell began feeling fatigue. Like flu that wouldn't go away. So he went to several doctors but they didn't know what was wrong.
It became worse and Alan Bell was experiencing seizures. He went to the Mayo Clinic, Cleaveland Clinic and National Jewish Hospital among others.
Poisoned
Finally one day, there was a physician at National Jewish Hospital in Colorado who told Bell he was poisoned based on blood test results. He flew back to South Florida and talked to his investigators and told them the doctors' findings. He instructed them to investigate what was causing his condition.
"I went to another doctor in South Florida who specialized in environmental health. He told me the building I was working in is making me sick. I didn't believe him at first but when my investigators came back with results, they affirmed what this Florida doctor said. That was my 'Ah-ha!' moment," recalls Alan Bell.
That doctor advised him to get out of South Florida and settle somewhere else far away. He referred Alan Bell to a support group that deals with people who are environmentally injured.
Erin Brockovich and Bubble Boy
"Hence, they relocated me to an 800 square foot bubble in the middle of the Arizona desert. So along with my wife and daughter, we went to Arizona, to that bubble in the middle of nowhere," recalls Alan.
Inside the bubble was nothing. In addition to that, it was like a cold, steel cell. Consequently, Bell ended up in a wheelchair. And his health deteriorated. Soon, his wife couldn't handle the situation so she left and left their child with Alan.
"I fought to stay alive for the sake of my daughter. All I had in the bubble was a phone, fax, pencil and paper. Hence, I began to use those tools to talk to the top scientists on the planet," said Bell.

Our expert guest, Sarica Cernohous, is a pre-digestion specialist. She is a nationally-certified practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Chinese Herbal Medicine, practicing Japanese-style acupuncture.
She also practices Japanese-style acupuncture and a coach for Metabolic Balance of Germany. In addition to that, she serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Nutrition Professionals.
How important food is in our body? If there's a medicine that we have been using for over thousands and thousands of years, that is FOOD. Food if prepared in a manner that extracts its maximum nutrition, can provide complete nourishment and healing to the body.
Fermentation, for one, is very beneficial to our health. Fermented foods undergo Lactofermentation. In this process, a lactic acid is created when a natural bacteria feed on the sugar and starch in our food. Hashimoto’s Disease is known as an autoimmune condition in which the body’s immune system is attacking the thyroid. As a result, inflammation from Hashimoto’s disease leads to hypothyroidism. Hence, treatment of Hashimoto’s disease with thyroid hormone replacement is simple and effective.
Our expert guest for today is Dr. Izabella Wentz. She also suffered from Hashimoto's back when she was younger. “I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s during a routine physical at age 27. Emotional Eating - Tricia Nelson & Ashley James - #118
Today's episode tackles about emotional eating and the underlying cause of the disorder. http://learntruehealth.com/emotional-eating-tricia-nelson/
What is over eating? Tricia Nelson, an emotional eating expert, and our expert guest for today believes, “Emotional eating is not only about overeating. It has a lot to do with the food you’re drawn do as well.” She adds, ” People know what excess food is doing to them. Unfortunately, people don’t think about what it’s doing for them.”
The American Psychological Association reports that majority of American adults are overweight or obese. Hence, the risk for Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease is increased.
Why do people emotionally eat?
Researchers revealed that there's a connection between stress and emotional eating. If not properly addressed, might lead to very serious health disorders.
The common causes of emotional eating are: anxiety, childhood obesity, depression and fatigue.
Tricia Nelson was also not exempted in experiencing emotional eating. In fact, he has been battling with the anxiety since she was young. But after years of experimentation with 12-step programs, therapy, and self-help books, Tricia finally hit a spiritual and emotional bottom. None of the diets seemed to work for her.
“I’ve been an emotional eater my entire life. Basically, I love food. Sugar, fat, and starch. Those were my food groups,” says Nelson. “I ended up going to therapy.”
By creating a positive lifestyle, Tricia was able to stop drinking and emotional eating. She has maintained a fifty-pound weight loss for close to 30 years now.
Tricia attended Amherst College and began her career working aSeattle Art Museum. While in Seattle she started working with a spiritual healer, Roy Nelson who would later become her husband. Roy helped her recognize and heal the root causes of her addictions.
By creating a positive lifestyle, Tricia was able to stop drinking and emotional eating. She has maintained a fifty-pound weight loss for close to 30 years now.

Dr. Lewis also shares findings by The Journal of Nutrition and Environmental Medicine and American Journal of Industrial Medicine other causes of chronic fatigue: (1) Organophosphates in pesticides
(2)Formaldehyde (3)MSG (4) High fructose corn syrup and (5) Cleaning agents.
Surprisingly, slow bowel movements also found out to be a contributing factor. When one feels bloated or belched, the food is not breaking down properly. Constipation may also lead to liver problems and later on may develop into different types of cancers.
His wife Janet, who is a Certified Natural Health Consultant explains,”The colon is getting bigger and bigger. All the toxic waste getting in there can’t come through. All of that leeches out to all the organs in the body. Organs are not getting the nutrients that they need to be healthy.”
Consuming gluten may also lead to bad health. Dr. Lewis explains, ” There is four to forty times more gluten than there was just a few decades ago. Gluten messes with your gastrointestinal track. It leads to leaky gut syndrome, depression, anxiety, diabetes, thyroid issues, and infections.”
Eating organic products alone is not enough to treat chronic fatigue. Dr. Stephen and Jane Lewis recommend taking natural supplements. “Natural medicine takes a minimum of 3 months to start making changes. And then it takes one month to take effect for every year you had that problem,” Janet clarifies. They also suggest sufficient intake of amino acids, essential fatty acids like fish oil and magnesium.

Our guest for today is a fitness expert and the inventor of the revolutionary Treadmill Desk, Rob Jacobs.
The purpose of creating the machine is to prevent the ill health effects and common office lifestyle of prolonged sitting down. He believes that thru the Unsit Treadmill Desk, he can motivate people to move while working and help break the unhealthy habits of sitting too much. But, if one can not get a treadmill desk, then “set the alarm to get up and move every 20 minutes,” says Rob.
“Sitting around on the job is something that’s gonna go away for a variety of reasons, health reasons, fitness reasons, productivity reasons and creativity reasons. I find it more creative and I come up with ideas more when I wind up and walking around.” – Rob Jacobs
Rob believes that our body is designed to move around. If the body is constantly at rest and do not move may lead to these physiological risks:
1. Bottom of the feet – Serves as a “switch”. When we stand up it sends a signal to the brain that there’s a threat or there are opportunities. If we turned that switch “off” by sitting down too much, it sends a lot of functions in the brain that are meant for solving problems, to rest, or asleep. Calories burned start to drop lower to 1 calorie a minute because our body is at rest.
2. Lower limbs – When we are stuck in one right angle contraption, it puts pressure on the big muscles in the body impeding blood circulation in the lower limbs leading to all tingling pain.
3. Spine– We’re supposed to have a nice “S” form on our backs. But when we sit our spine is curving in a wrong direction. It is curved the other way squishing our discs backwards putting pressure on the nerves that later on leads to sciatic nerve pain.
4. Shoulder and Neck: Too much sitting causes neck infringements and discomfort
5. Blood Sugar – When our calories burned drop down to zero, we start to feel sleepy and loses energy. Normally, people grab caffeine and sugar to stay awake instead of walking and moving. In years of doing this, could lead to inflammation of pancreas or diabetes.

The Truth About Chronic Illness
Everyone's in for a special treat if you want to know more about chronic illness. Naturopathic Doctor Christine Schaffner can thoroughly educate us regarding this.
Dr. Schaffner loves to treat patients who have seen every doctor under the sun. These are patients who have a chronic illness and for some reason, they're not getting better. She loves to help them recover their health naturally through education, lifestyle change, and special testing.
It's pretty exciting because Dr. Schaffner got tricks up her sleeve that I've never seen other Naturopathic Doctors do. So uncovering the mystery behind chronic illness is going to be a lot of fun.
Runs In The Family
chronic illnessDr. Schaffner grew up on the east coast, outside of Washington, D.C. Her father is an oncologist and her mother trained as a nurse but had a background in education. In addition to that, she was a hospital director so technically, Dr. Schaffner grew up in the world of medicine.
"We joke that one of my brother's first words was chemotherapy. Medicine was what I grew up around. With my father being an oncologist, I grew up on antibiotics and food was not even part of the paradigm at that point.," she said.
Finding Her Way
With Science as her favorite subject in high school, she had an inner knowing that medicine was most likely her calling. But despite that, she wanted something more.
"In high school during the 90s, the whole idea of 'mind, body, and spirit' was a new thought. Going through the spiritual section at bookstores then, always triggered more questions," she said.
Dr. Schaffner initially did not know Naturopathic Medicine existed until she met one of her mother's friends who had cancer. That friend sought out a lot of alternative medicine. She was also the one who exposed Dr. Schaffner to Bastyr University when she was in high school.

Prediabetes - Dr. Beverly Yates & Ashley James - #112
Today's episode tackles about prediabetes and how to prevent it from progressing. http://learntruehealth.com/prediabetes/
Our expert guest for today is Doctor Beverly Yates. Dr. Yates is a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (licensed ND) from the University of Natural Medicine. Before shifting to Natural Medicine, she was a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Our topic is quite personal for Dr. Beverly Yates because prediabetes and diabetes affect several of her family members.
So what is prediabetes and its symptoms?
Prediabetes means that one's blood sugar level is beyond the normal level, but isn't high enough to be classified as type 2 diabetes. Prediabetes may affect children as well as adults. But the lifestyle of an individual plays a key role in acquiring and/or progressing of diabetes.
Causes of diabetes are still a mystery even up to now, but it's believed that genetics appears to be one of the contributing factors. Sedentary lifestyle and unhealthy eating may also put one's health at risk from acquiring prediabetes.
On the onset of prediabetes, the following manifestations can be observed: (1) fatigue (2) blurred vision (3) frequent urination and (4) increased thirst.
If a person has prediabetes but keeps a blind eye of his condition and still practices an unhealthy lifestyle, he is very likely to progress to type 2 diabetes. And when worse comes to worst, his body organs such as the heart, kidneys, and blood vessels, may eventually suffer from long-term damage.
However, we can prevent prediabetes from developing into type 2 if we implement the healthy blood sugar balancing habits that Dr. Beverly teaches in our interview. We can also avoid the potentially dangerous consequences that come with out-of-control blood sugar by eating healthy foods and incorporating physical activity into our daily routine and maintaining a healthy weight can help prevent prediabetes from progressing.

PCOS or Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is one of the common diseases to women. It is the number one endocrine disorder that affects 5 out of 10 women in the US.
Women with PCOS are having an imbalance with their hormones causing them irregular periods and pregnancy problems. The cause of PCOS is said to be mostly genetics, but if left untreated may cause more serious problems like diabetes and heart disease.
Adrenal Fatigue on the other hand as explained by Todd Nippoldt, MD of the Mayo Clinic, "...is a term applied to a collection of nonspecific symptoms, such as body aches, fatigue, nervousness, sleep disturbances and digestive problems." Adrenal fatigue as believed by its proponents is a mild form of Addison's disease, where the adrenal glands produce insufficient hormones than its normal count.
The common symptoms of adrenal fatigue are: anxiety, dizziness, insomnia, frequent urination, dry skin, low sex drive, weight gain, among others.

How's stem cell therapy done? Did you know that after the age of 20, your stem cell population drop off so considerably; that by the time you're 50's and up, you have virtually no stem cell at all?
Dr. Dennis Courtney has a passion for teaching and informing. He is excited to help people learn the truth about their health options and "lose their vulnerability" to stem cell misinformation.
According to Dennis, every single one of us has stem cells in our bodies. There are over 600 stem cell clinics in the USA and about 99.9% of these clinics use autologous stem cells. An Autologous stem cell means that the stem cell is coming from a person and is giving it back to that same person. Thus, the individual, in other words, is both the donor and recipient of the cell.

The Autologous Stem Cell
There are three body fluids that are used to be the donor source for the autologous cell.
Blood: The procedure is referred to as platelet-rich plasma
Fats: This is the most-used source to harvest stem cell from
Bone-marrow: This is rarely done as an office procedure but rather reserved for as a hospital procedure.
Dr. Courtney has two specialties: First, his eye program. Dennis helps eye patients whose case seem to be incurable. He recovers their vision without using surgery. Dr. Courtney also specializes in stem cell therapies. He was the first to use stem cells in the treatment of eye disease in the U.S. "My intention is to provide you with the hopes and aspirations concerning your eye disease that your eye doctor has never been able to discuss with you."

Today's episode tackles about vaccination and the unknown risks and dangers that go along with this medical tradition.
We're taught that immunizations are necessary to shield us from viruses that cause contagious and fatal illnesses. However, researches say otherwise.
Our guest today, Dr. Heather Wolfson is a Chiropractic physician who provides chiropractic and nutritional care to adults and children. She is married to Dr. Jack Wolfson, or better known as the Paleo Cardiologist in the world of Naturopathic Medicine.
According to the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, "Disease prevention is the key to public health. It is always better to prevent a disease than to treat it. Vaccines prevent disease in the people who receive them and protect those who come into contact with unvaccinated individuals. Vaccines help prevent infectious diseases and save lives."
But contrary to this statement was the result of a comprehensive survey conducted for more than 12,000 kids from Europe and USA. It was found out that vaccinated kids are more chronically ill than unvaccinated kids. These children according to the study had acquired ear infections, autism, ADHD, allergies, coordination and gross motor issues and many others.
In fact, numerous vaccines were discovered to had problems and were banned from the market later on. GlaxoSmithKline apparently removed a vaccine for Lyme disease citing reasons such as poor sales, but later it was found out that people who were vaccinated suffered from symptoms that were even worse than the disease!
Heather will also enlighten us on the benefits of Chiropractor and other natural practices to cure diseases instead of relying on vaccines. "There's no such thing as separating the poisons out. There's no safe vaccine. The benefit of going to the Chiropractor is you have the healing hands. We have to have a healthy nervous system. Chiropractors use their hands in adjusting and address nutrition."

Natural Breast Cancer Treatment - Dr. Veronique Desaulniers & Ashley James - #109
Today's episode tackles about breast cancer and non-conventional treatments available to cure it.
According to the Breast Cancer Organization, about 1 in every 8 American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. "In 2017, an estimated 252,710 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S., along with 63,410 new cases of non-invasive (in situ) breast cancer."
Though the real cause of cancer has yet to be pinpointed even up to now, various factors might contribute to its development. Age, genetics, exposure to radiation, lifestyle, and obesity, are just some of the factors to be considered.
There are different ways to treat cancer depending on its type and stage. The popular options are local therapies like surgery and radiation therapy are useful for the less advanced stage. It treats the tumor without harming the body. Systematic treatments, like chemotherapy and hormone therapy, on the other hand, reach to all cancer cells in our body regardless of their nature.
But our expert guest for today, Dr. Veronique Desaulniers, or Dr. V for short, will introduce us to an alternative cure to cancer. This natural treatment helped cure Dr. V who had also suffered from breast cancer.
