Doug Asks: Do We Still Need Doctors? I just picked up my son at the airport and as I was sitting in traffic on the way home, I noticed a large billboard on a major Dallas freeway. GlaxoSmithKline, the pharmaceutical company that makes a shingles vaccine called Shingrix, is promoting this vaccine and all you must do to get it is go a pharmacy. Pharmacists give shots? Doug Asks: Could my health problems be caused by fungus? Doug Talks About: This is your brain on fungus As impossible as it may sound, fungi do find their way into your nerve cells and brain and can negatively impact normal nerve and brain function. Yes, fungi like Penicillium could have powerful control of your motor skills. Scientists have now discovered seven genes that cause some form of Parkinson's disease. According to Medicinenet.com, “Some people inherit genetic disorders from their parents, while other changes are acquired changes or mutations in a preexisting gene or group of genes cause other genetic diseases. Doug talks about - The Shot you Got On Saturday Whether we wanted it or not, we all received a shot on Saturday. No matter your political preference, when Donald Trump went down, our “cortisol” levels shot up. Cortisol is our stress hormone, and it is liberated by our adrenal glands that sit atop each kidney. So many things can happen to our body chemistry when our stress and cortisol levels elevate whether for a moment or long term. Decrease immunity is sometimes attributed to elevated cortisol levels, so don’t get into too many sugary carbs in your diet right now, as they may further contribute to lowered immunity. Doug Talks About: Losing the war on cancer Do you remember high school? If you received a test score and it was 31%, or 34% or even 3%, what grade did you get? You got an “F”, correct? I’m asking that for a reason. Out of 100 women diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer today, only 31 will be alive in 60 months. (31% 5-years effective cancer treatment rate) Out of 100 men diagnosed today with metastatic prostate cancer, only 34 will be alive in 60 months (34% 5-year effective cancer treatment rate). Only 3 out of 100 metastatic pancreatic cancer patients diagnosed today will be alive in 60 months (3% 5-year effective cancer treatment rate). Tomorrow during our live show from 3-4PM Central Time, 56 Americans will die of cancer. That’s about one cancer death per minute, every minute, every hour, every month and every year. The older I get, the more deeply concerned I get with theseabysmal cancer survival statistics. I believe if we rewarded doctors for extending their cancer patients’ lives or curing them, we would incentivize success and see a lot of it! Instead, we tend to punish doctors who do not adhere to cancer “standards of care,” including chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. And just look how great those standards are working out! Doug Talks About: The startling headline...the shocking conclusion Did you know that the liver cancer causing fungal mycotoxin, aflatoxin, is detected in corn by using a black light? The samples that are contaminated with aflatoxin turn a bright greenish color and are then discarded. Years ago, Pathologist Migdalia Arnan, MD, described green granules “glowing” within human cancer tissues when exposed to light. Interesting, right? Why am I telling you this? Doug Asks: Do antibiotic benefits out weight antibiotic risks? Did you know that an antibiotic called Vancomycin is so strong that it is sometimes used for infections that other antibiotics cannot cure? In 2016, Dr Vincent Bruno published a paper that showed that if the bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus and the yeast, Candida albicans were placed into a test tube together, the bacteria actually became resistant (it didn’t work) to Vancomycin. Why is this relevant? Although researchers claim that “co-infections” (different germs contributing to a person’s symptoms, like bacteria and fungi), are fairly rare, one must question if the patient has a co-infection if the antibiotics do not cure it. The problem lies in assuming the infection is bacterial and treating it as such, only to later find that it was a fungal infection. Antibiotics seem to fuel yeast/fungal infections. Worse, as Dr Bruno’s research confirms, the worst bacterial infection in the world might resist the strongest antibiotic in the world…if a simple yeast, called Candida albicans is present. I’ve often wondered if people with co-infections get better for a period of time on an antibiotic, only to become very sick at some time in the near future—from the antibiotic somehow activating Candida albicans!
