CPS report: "Unsupervised minor cutting the lawn."
This Anonymous call actually prompted a home visit from CPS. (No, not on a hot tip from the good people of Youtube, I didn't post much video then back then.) It was reported by an "Anonymous caller" that had been there. A home visit was scheduled, and if the sound of that doesn't scare you, well, you need to join SEAL team 6. I explained to the CPS official right off the bat, that the "Anonymous caller" was a petty pain in the ass family member with an ax to grind. Anyone that knows where I live, will know that there is no one "Anonymous" happening by without me personally meeting them. I knew they could not disclose the name, but I gave them the name, and had them add that to the report for future reference. I also let them know that any further harassment from this a-hole and I would most certainly press charges. Especially as this cost me a morning of work. (And yes, I did say A-hole to the CPS person.) The deck on this tractor was non functional, so any grass getting cut by this machine was most likely snapped off clean due to tire spin. Also note how far his feet are from the pedals, stopping or reversing the machine on his own would have been very interesting indeed. Lucky for us, CPS saw this case for what it was, and closed it about a week later, so this story ended well. (Unlike many others you hear and read about.) I was asked several times for the name of the child in question, and refused to give it. (That is one of your your rights.) Just a simple: "I'd rather not, unless this needs to go to court." The CPS official agreed. (Rest assured If they really needed the name, they could get a court order faster than I could finish my coffee, so that was merely a formality.

The grand kids from Texas visit us in Mass.
My son and his wife made the drive from Texas to Mass in about 26 hours. As a bonus, it was also a dual birthday event with Daniel turning 17 and June turning 2 on the same day.

2007 Daniel and Toby having an argument.
Sometimes Dogs and kids are operating at the same base level, this was the right age for both of them. Notice Toby didn't flinch when Daniel clobbered him.

Daniel dumping manure with the Kubota RTV900
This was the last of several runs to the lower field, and about two hours on the excavator in the 30 degree weather, so I think he was about finished. We broke for lunch after this. B-)

It was deleted for child endangerment.
Anyone here see any actual danger?

interview #1 Post ride interview with Daniel. Wasting gas.
April 27th 2009 For a four year old, he had a lot to say. B-)
Apparently he had some internal struggles with the concept of wasting gas.
Even back then, he was thinking about saving the planet.
