Hibiscus Flower at Cypress Gardens, FLA
Back on April 17, 2023 I made a quick video of a Hibiscus Flower at Cypress Gardens in Florida. It is a beautiful place still, but not what it used to be. I'm glad Legoland is preserving what it can.

Six-spotted Tiger Beetle
I’ve seen these beetles before, but couldn’t get this close for a photo or video like this. Here’s footage of what I saw.
The beetles' large eyes provide them a wide range of vision, allowing them to see their prey more clearly and avoid predators like robber flies, dragonflies, other insects, birds, and small animals.
Six-spotted Tiger Beetles consume animal meat. They eat a variety of insects, spiders, and other arthropods. The beetles catch their prey in their wide, frightening-looking mandibles, which are white and quite large.

This is a video I captured of a Barred Owl that was out hunting during the day. It is camouflaged and not easy to see. I had to use maximum zoom and the images aren’t very clear. Thanks for watching!

Late Night Lightning
I captured this footage of bright lightning and large storm clouds a couple of nights ago. It was like a fireworks show. It was strange I never heard any thunder, just crickets, tree frogs and other sounds of the night within the woods.

Koi Pond, Japan pavilion at Epcot's World Showcase
Here is a colorful video of the koi pond in the Epcot Japan Pavilion. It is a beautiful area and an oasis from busy areas.
It’s one of Epcot World Showcase's more attractive Pavilions in my opinion. There are some very interesting shops featuring wonderful Japanese culture.
The torii gate that welcomes guests to this pavilion is a magnet for photographers and artists alike.
Beautiful gardens surround a colossal pagoda with a blue roof that is a copy of a Horyuji Temple from the 7th century. This video features footbridges spanning streams teeming with koi fish and water lilies.
A peaceful garden backdrop is provided by Japanese maples, bamboo, monkey puzzle trees, and other natural plants. It's wonderful to sit here in peace and unwind for a while.
The soundtrack is “Ultimate_Rainbow” by Koi-Discovery. This song is available per the link below.

Weird Wednesday Video 012
This is video of an iris flower moving in a gentle breeze. It’s been turned into a dreamscape for this channel’s “Weird Wednesday” series. I haven’t created a strange video like this for a while now and thought it was time for variety’s sake.
The background music is “Orange Nightmare Record Fair (psychedelic paranoia)” from the album Filmmaker's Reference Kit Volume 2 by Keshco. Here is a link to the license.

Hummingbird Fight
They’re back! Our hummingbirds have returned and they are hungry. We noticed them buzzing around on Monday (April 10). Yesterday they started using the feeder. They were shy at first, but overcame that fighting each other to feed.
There were times they hit each other so hard I could hear the impact. They can be brutal with each other.

Doug Bethke’s 1973 Corvette
Here’s a different video I made at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY.
According to Roadandtrack.com (link to article is below) this savage beast of a race car with flared fenders emerging from first pit garage is the focus of all attention. This 1973 Corvette looks like it's ready to mutilate anything that gets in its way. Paul Newman's hopes of winning the 1982 SCCA GT1 National Championship in the Runoffs were actually dashed by it. The Corvette, driven and promoted by Doug Bethke, won the SCCA championship in both 1981 and 1982. With 390 horsepower, it easily defeated the Triumphs and Datsuns lining up in opposition.
The Corvette was purchased by Leon Hurd after he gave up club racing and ran it with the SVRA during the 1990s before giving it to the National Corvette Museum in 2005. You can visit and observe it there; even when at rest, the large roadster exudes danger. The museum occasionally decides to put it through some workout, which is why on a 29-degree Kentucky morning it is rattling the pavement and readily vaporizing its vintage Hoosier slicks the moment the clutch is engaged.

1946 Stout Y46 Concept Car
I captured this video at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green Kentucky.
According to the National Corvette Museum’s website (a link to the article is below), this Gateway exhibit focuses on the origins of the Corvette, including its influences, the rationale behind the use of fiberglass, how the recognizable car received its name, and more. A 1947 MG TC Roadster, a British sports car released at the end of WWII that started the sports car craze in America, a 1946 Stout Y46 Concept Car, the first fiberglass car and the only one of that model ever produced, and a 1951 Crosley, which many believe to be the first American sports car produced after WWII by a reputable automaker, are all featured in the exhibit.

Roy Orbison’s 1967 Corvette
Here is a video I captured at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green Kentucky. It features two 1967 Corvettes. One belonged to Henry Younger and the other belonged to Rock Star Roy Orbison.
According to the National Corvette Museum’s website (a link to the article is below), Henry Younger pleasantly surprised his fellow National Corvette Museum board members on Monday, December 5, 2016, by giving the museum his 1967 Big Block. "I had spoken with Gary Cockriel about giving the automobile as a gift a number of years ago, but I wasn't sure when I wanted to donate it. I figured my final board meeting would be appropriate. Henry asked his other board members to make similar, significant donations to the Museum in the future.
https://www.corvettemuseum.org/passing-on-a-piece-of-a-collection/
Also according to the National Corvette Museum’s website (a link to this story is below), the red 1967 Stingray that previously belonged to the rock star & six-time Grammy winner Roy Orbison is also on exhibit. Roy Orbison's talent and accomplishment in the music business would land him a position in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with nearly two dozen Billboard Top 40 hit singles, including "Only the Lonely," "Crying," and "Pretty Woman." Orbison owned numerous Corvettes over his lifetime, but his particular daily ride was a crimson '67 Stingray. He would travel to the studio to record albums like Mystery Girl and The Traveling Wilburys. Factory side pipes, air conditioning, chrome step plates, a 4-speed manual transmission, electric windows, and power steering are among the characteristics of the car. Roy bought this 1967 Stingray as his final Corvette before he passed away.

2019 C7 ZR1 Corvette
This is a video of the 2019 C7 ZR1 Chevrolet Corvette. The video was captured at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green Kentucky.
According to the National Corvette Museum’s website (a link to the article is below), The 2019 Corvette ZR1 was the fastest Corvette in production.
Four additional radiators raised the total number of heat-exchangers to 13, and an entirely new front fascia was created to channel air for cooling the drivetrain and propulsion system. The supercharger/intercooler assembly for the LT5 engine is visible through an opening in an unique carbon-fiber "halo" bonnet. Aero kits with stanchion-mounted wings are among the extra components that help the ZR1 push harder onto the track for more assured handling and quicker lap times. The ZR1 has a top speed of more than 210 mph.
“As the highest-performing Corvette ever, the ZR1’s design supports its capability in every way,” said Kirk Bennion, Exterior Design manager. “The new wings, for example, help generate more downforce without adding drag, enhancing road holding and top speed.”
According to caranddriver.com (a link to article is below) the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1’s
starting price was at $124,095.
