Prince William and Duchess Of Edinburgh attended a Rhino Man screening on Tuesday night. It was a surprise to see the pair together. Sophie and Edward often attend events with William and Kate but this was the first time William and Sophie had done an event without their spouses. Both of them seemed so relaxed. Sophie looked like she was glowing and William's little fists were not clenched. He appeared to enjoy spending time with Sophie. In my reporting, I said, "I can't WAIT for dozens of articles about how William and Sophie were the new 'power couple' of the royal family and how they should always be paired together for glitzy occasions." I was only half right. In the latest Daily Mail article, "The Royal Family’s New Star", the narrative is not "Wow, Peg is great with Sophie." It is "Sophie, who is amazing, is carrying the monarchy by herself." The Duchess is "indispensable" to Kate and William because of her "natural warmth and low key approach", according to royal experts. Her outing with Prince William proved her new status. Royal experts say that the Duchess enjoyed a rare engagement with Prince of Wales. It's a sign of how important Sophie is to The Royal Family. Royal experts say it's rare to see Prince Edward’s wife out with just the heir to Britain's throne, but that this is a sign of her improved position within The Firm. Richard Fitzwilliams, royal commentator, told FEMAIL that the engagement between the two was 'unusual', but highlighted Sophie as one of The Royal Family's hardest workers. William and Catherine are the most glamorous royal couple in the world, with a huge soft power influence. Sophie has established herself as an indispensable support for them. The royal expert added: "There is periodic media interest in what Sophie dresses, but she and Edward are not at the center of the storm. They prefer that. They are also crucial to the charitable work of the monarchy, which is its primary function. The event yesterday brought this to the forefront. She is similar to the Princess Anne in that she takes a low-key, discreet approach to her work. These trips have taken her to conflict zones such as South Sudan, Sierra Leone and other countries. Royal author Phil Dampier explained that Sophie is becoming a star in The Royal Family, and they really need her. Harry, Meghan, and Prince Andrew are no longer in the picture. The monarchy has been trimmed down to a point where it may be too slim. The King, the Queen and Princess Anne all have reached their 70s. Others like the Duke Kent are on the verge of retirement. Sophie is much more famous than Edward. She is warm and loves to go on walks. She is a quiet worker, like Anne. She has made several trips abroad. The author concluded that she has grown up a lot and being by William's sides is a sign of her new status. The Daily Mail It would have been great if the Windsors had not mistreated or abused a glamorous actress who was married into their family. Meghan could have spread her glamour throughout the family, modernizing this boring, staid and racist institution. You're spending all this time and effort trying to make fetch work. Since decades, no one is buying what the "new star", (lol), Sophie is selling. Even with all of that, I find the optics fascinating, especially since Kate and Edward were not present. Hm. The Sussexes & Spotify split, 'Archetypes will likely go to another platform
The Duke and Duchess signed a $20 million deal with Spotify in 2020. The Duke and Duchess signed a $20 million deal with Spotify in 2020. The only podcast Meghan and Harry produced last year was Meghan's Archetypes, a podcast that was hugely successful, reaching #1 on Spotify's Podcast charts, temporarily dethroning Spotify golden goose (anti-vaxxer) Joe Rogan. We've all been waiting for an announcement about a new season of Archetypes. But it seems we will have to wait longer because Spotify and the Sussexes have decided to part ways. The Wall Street Journal first reported this story, so we'll give you that report: According to sources familiar with the situation, the "Archetypes", a podcast by Meghan Markle on Spotify, will not be renewed for a new season. This is due to the company's recent overhaul of their podcasting strategy. The people who spoke said that the producers of the show that explored the labels that limit women have been informed that the second season will not be moving forward. This follows months of discussions about the possibility. Markle and Prince Harry completed only one project for Spotify Technology, after signing an overall $20 million deal in late 2020. People familiar with the situation said that the couple has not met the productivity standards required to receive full payment from the deal. This cancellation shows the continued correction of the podcast market. Although popular with listeners, it has been difficult for Spotify and its competitors to make this format profitable. The team behind Archetypes is proud of their podcast on Spotify. Meghan continues to create more content for Archetypes' audience on another platform," said a spokesperson for Archewell Productions, the media company owned by the couple. Markle has recently signed with the talent agency WME. A person with knowledge of the discussions confirmed that Archewell's content is being discussed for possible other outlets. Spotify laid off 200 employees last week, including many audio engineers. The company announced that it would be rethinking its podcasting strategy, which includes distributing shows on platforms other than Spotify. It will also focus more on providing creator tools for podcasters as opposed to creating original content. [From WSJ] Deadline described the news in the following way: "The Sussexes are no longer with Spotify." They also describe the "talks," between Archewell, Spotify and a second season for Archetypes. Deadline reports that the Sussexes are "rethinking" their deals in order to find "better homes and partnerships for their content." We've also heard that Archetypes may end up somewhere else, due to Meghan signing with WME. The Sussexes released a statement on Spotify a few hours after WSJ published its exclusive report. In a joint statement, Archewell Audio, the production company of Duke and Duchess Sussex and Spotify stated: "Spotify has mutually agreed to separate from Archewell Audio. We are proud of the series that we produced together." The Wall Street Journal quoted a representative of WME, the talent agent that signed the Duchess earlier this year. "The team behind Archetypes remains proud of the podcast created by Spotify." Meghan continues to create more content for Archetypes' audience on another platform. [From People] I think that Meghan and Harry have done nothing wrong. They were simply victims of the podcasting slump in general. This is more about Spotify business model rather than anything they did or didn't do. It's stupid for Spotify not to fight to retain them. Meghan's work with Archetypes, while she could have done much more with Spotify, was fantastic. The second season of Archetypes would have also been wonderful. Archetypes is likely to move from Audible to Amazon or other services. It's what I think. Photos by Instar, Archewell and S...

Brian Cox was miserable in LA. They pretend to be happy but are deeply unhappy.
In recent weeks, Variety's Actors on Actors has been taking place for Emmy Season. The pairing of actors for their on-camera conversations is always a hot topic. The chemistry between Claire Danes, Kieran Culkin and their on-camera conversation was a little too good for me (he's so flirty). But sometimes the pairing of actors brings out the worst qualities in one another. Emily Blunt and Brian Cox didn't bring out the best of each other, I don't think. I've started to believe that Brian Cox is a grumpy, old man who always seems to be accompanied by a dark shadow. Emily is usually a good friend, unless she talks about how she hates living in America and being a naturalized American. Here are some highlights of their Variety talk. BRIAN COX : The thing I like about English girls is that they are direct and don't talk nonsense. You are direct and to the point. The English girls are so funny. EMILY BlUNT: I miss it, now that I live in America. I miss the directness, the irreverence, and the attitude. COX: Here, they're a little bit Christian. They follow the so-called Christian bible, which I doubt. It's quite hypocritical. BLUNT : I found a little group of Brits around Brooklyn .... Do you enjoy living in Brooklyn? COX: Brooklyn has finally been the place I have felt most at home. It took me a while to feel comfortable in this country. As I said, I was living in Los Angeles when I ran out farmers markets. What will I do in Los Angeles now? Everyone is miserable. They may pretend to be happy, but their true feelings are deep-seated misery. ***** BLUNT: 'The Devil Wears Prada'! When that movie came out, it was like a huge shift in my life. COX: It was great. You are so lucky to have worked with one of the most famous screen actresses in history. Before I die, one of my dreams is to work with Meryl. BLUNT: Oh, don't say "snuff it"! You'll. She was amazing, and she was a little terrifying in that film. She claimed it was the first time she tried Method acting. Miranda made her miserable. COX: When I met her, I told her, "I didn't like you, because I was jealous." She asked, "What?" and I replied, "I didn't like you, because I wasn't that good." [From Variety] You see, Brooklyn is the only American city they have ever liked, because they detest the smug, humourless, hypocritical and indirect Americans, as well as their farmer's markets. You must love it when you see two immigrants ranting about their adopted country. Over the years, I have never understood why they both feel the need for them to live in America when they are going to belittle everyone here. Cox is free to move back home to Scotland. Blunt must insist that John Krasinski and his family move to England. Enough is enough. Sidenote: English people are not "direct". They speak and write with these absurd riddles and use their "codes". See this post on Instagram Variety (@variety), shared a post. Photos by Instar, Avalon Red. Instagram. Backgrid.

Costner was "blinded" by Christine's filing for divorce. "Sources close to Costner", however, suggested that Costner wanted to get back with Christine and forget about the divorce. Many rumors circulated about the reason Christine filed for divorce, but none of them came true. It's also possible that Costner has an excellent crisis management team. After Costner lost his first divorce, it's said that he made Christine sign an extremely strict prenup. In the prenup, there is a clause that says, in case of divorce, Costner would be sole owner of all their homes and Christine had to leave all their residences. Guess who refuses to leave? Kevin Costner claims his estranged spouse Christine refuses to leave the house despite their prenuptial agreement. He says he has already given her over a million dollars to help her find a new home. Kevin claims that according to their prenuptial agreement, Christine was given 30 days to leave the house he owned when she filed for divorce in May. She has not yet left. Documents show that Kevin is now asking the court to remove her from the house, and she should not be allowed to remain in it... using her position to force Kevin to agree to "various financial requests." Kevin says he has already paid her $1.2 million as per the prenuptial agreement. He claims that the total amount of money he has spent has risen to $1.45million. She can now use this money to secure a new home. Documents show that he is even willing to contribute $30K per month as part of child support for a rental home and to pay another $10K to cover her moving expenses. Kevin, as we reported, insists that he owns their three homes. Their prenup, signed in 2004, stated specifically that she must vacate the home upon filing divorce. TMZ broke this story. Sources familiar with the situation told us that Christine's filing for divorce last month came as a shock to Kevin. They said it was a devastating move. [From TMZ] Methinks that this was one of many reasons Christine filed for divorce. You are going to spend 25+ years with someone and have 3 minor children, but then you will run to court in order to evict them from their family home, where they've been raising your kids for almost two decades. Please. Christine filed her tax return in early May. Costner, does he really expect her out of the home in six weeks? This is unreasonable, given the fact that Costner owns multiple homes. He's also probably not in Los Angeles at this time. This is petty, and vindictive. Avalon Red provided the photos. Lisa Marie Presley died on the 12th of January this year. Priscilla and her attorneys had already moved to invalidate LM’s will before January ended. This will would have given Riley Keough a vast amount of control over Lisa Marie's estate. Lisa Marie made it very clear that she wanted Riley Keough and Ben (who died in 2020) as the executors. Priscilla, however, was so angry that she went to court immediately after she buried the girl. This was a very tacky act, which sparked a legal battle between Riley and Priscilla that lasted for months. They settled it a month ago and didn't release the terms until now. Riley is the sole executor of her mother’s estate. PEOPLE confirms that Riley Keough, Daisy Jones the Six's star, has been appointed sole trustee of the estate. This agreement was reached one month ago by Riley Keough and Priscilla Presley. Riley Keough, 34, filed documents in Los Angeles on Monday that were obtained by PEOPLE. In them, Riley asked the court to accept the settlement agreement reached last month. Entertainment Tonight broke the story first. Gold also adds that the parties save significant legal costs by avoiding litigation. They are also avoiding intra-family litigation which would have been against Lisa's wishes, and not in their best interest. Riley, who will serve as the sole trustee for the estate of her mother and the sub-trusts that will benefit her twin sisters Harper Lockwood and Finleylockwood (both 14), will also invest and safeguard the money in a way "consistent with the needs of beneficiaries and not influenced" by a Trustee's desire. Priscilla will, meanwhile be Trustee for the sub-trust that her son Navarone (and Lisa Marie’s half-brother), Navarone will receive 1/9 of Trust, according to the documents. Riley, Finley, and Harper will receive the rest, while Priscilla is entitled to a lump-sum payment of an undisclosed value from the Trust. According to the documents, Priscilla (78) was officially removed from her position as Trustee for the estate of her late daughter on May 11. The change will be in place regardless if Riley's petition gets approved or not. Multiple sources have said that the legal proceedings were responsible for Riley and Priscilla ceasing to speak to each other. A Presley family member said, "They don't see eye-to-eye." [From People] Riley threw money to her grandmother in order to make Priscilla back down. Priscilla was determined to have as much control over the estate as possible. Riley agreed to a lump-sum payment of an undisclosed sum from the Trust to convince Priscilla that she should be removed from the Trust. My god, what a tacky act by Priscilla. Riley also gave birth to her child in 2022 - Riley lost her mother shortly after giving birth and had to deal not only with her grandmother's f******. I feel bad for her. This means that Warner Bros. forced Ezra to undergo treatment in order to try desperately save its huge investment into this f****** messy franchise. The Hollywood Reporter noted that the studio had told all the stars to refrain from giving interviews on the red-carpet, and so the event was purely images. Ezra walked the red carpet as did Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez. Jessica Chastain Dove Cameron, Dove Cameron, Dove Cameron, Dove Cameron, Dove Cameron, Dove Cameron, Dove Cameron, Dove Cameron, Dore Cameron, Dove Cameron, Dove Cameron, Dove Cameron, Dove Cameron, Dove Cameron, Dove Cameron, Dove Cameron. I am sure that Warner Bros requested Ben Affleck bring Jennifer Lopez and have the two of them spend lots of time taking photos. I was tempted to use them as the headline story, a Bennifer Red Carpet. Warner Bros was after that, they wanted to put more focus on Bennifer's return and Ben as Batfleck. Any trick to take the heat off Ezra. Fashion note: J.Lo wore Gucci, and she did not seem too thrilled to be used as a savior for Ezra Miller. Backgrid is the source of these photos.

Boris Johnson, the UK prime minister who resigned last summer after a scandalous wave hit him, was forced to resign. According to what I understand (I am American!) The biggest problem was that BoJo and his staff were constantly having parties during the pandemic-lockdown. They then lied repeatedly about it and tried to hide all their drinking and partying. Boris Johnson was already in a mess before the controversy broke out, but it's not surprising. Liz Truss, who took over after Johnson's resignation, served for just 44 days, not even two menstrual periods, before resigning in disgrace in October last year. This ensured a victory for the head of lettuce. Boris Johnson, I swear to God tried to play a power game, saying he should be allowed to become prime minister 44 days later. Nobody believed that he could be politically rehabilitated within a short time frame, but as an MP, he remained in a leadership role in the party. BoJo resigned as an MP. The former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is giving up his seat in parliament amid a longstanding ethics investigation. A report on his behavior as premier should be released next week. Johnson, in a fiery statement announcing the resignation of the legislature, called the parliamentary committee that was tasked to investigate whether he had lied to his fellow legislators about social gatherings held inside government buildings which violated his COVID-19 regulations on social distance as "a kangaroo Court". He had received a sneak preview of the committee's report which, it seems, influenced his decision. The investigative committee replied that his departure statement had "impugned Parliament" further. The opposition parties called the drama a "soapopera" and wished Johnson good riddance. He and others, including the current Prime Minister Rishi Sunderak, had received criminal fines in the past for their conduct during pandemic. Johnson, however, has insisted for years that the inaccurate and misleading statements he made on numerous occasions to Britain's lawmakers denying "lockdown parties," as they were known to be called, did not amount to intentional lies. [From NPR] It is still amazing to me that Boris's downfall was due to this. I am well aware of all the crazy things he did, both personally and politically. The British can forgive racism, misogyny and fathering untold numbers of children. They also excuse international clownery, nation buffoonery, Brexit, and other things. But if you throw a party during lockdown, there will be hell on earth to pay. Anyway, I am glad you finally got rid of him. He always seemed to be plotting some kind of political reinvention. BoJo was able to compile an "honors list" despite the fact that he has been out of Downing Street ten months. He awarded honors to former staffers and allies who were involved in the "Partygate scandal". Avalon Red provided the photos.

It's amazing. It is hilarious that the palace's brain trust chose to use Princess of Wales' court appearances as "counterprogramming". How often did the palace braintrust speak eloquently about themselves? Like they were the crème de la creme in international public relations and that they were best image makers in the world. Here's another example that shows how deeply they are in the trenches and how badly they have miscalculated. Poor Jazz Hands has to be sent out in a ponytail, to pose for pictures. The 41-year-old Princess of Wales took part in rugby training Wednesday morning, before speaking to the players and discussing their childhoods. She is continuing her campaign to highlight the importance of early years. She was able to combine her role as the leader of the Shaping Us campaign to discuss how to best nurture children, with her love of rugby. The visit to Maidenhead Rugby Club, however, was all about listening to men. While the Princess Kate spent much time talking with mothers and caregivers since launching her campaign back in January this year. She took part in rugby drills while wearing a blue tee shirt with a red rose logo representing England Rugby. Then she went into the club to discuss the importance of local sports clubs for parents. Kate was joined at the event by Shaping Us winner Ugo Monye. A former England rugby player and father of two children, Ugo is also a professional rugby player and representative from Maidenhead RFC. Si Trower was also present, founder of Brave Mind mental health charity, which helps rugby clubs and schools improve their mental health support in their communities. Her visit coincided with a study by her Early Years Foundation that found men less likely to understand the importance of the early years of a child’s life than women. [From People] No, it's not about Rugby! It's not about rugby! No, it is about shaping us! It's all about raising awareness! What is it? What is it? Rugby, men, children, sports, ponytails! Edward Enninful being fired from British Vogue has many layers. Enninful resigned last Friday and said he would be taking on a global advisory position for international Vogue. In a matter of hours, rumors started to circulate that Enninful was battling Anna Wintour. She had allegedly destroyed him. Although I'm sure that this version of the story happened, I think that there is more to it than that. Enninful will and can make more money outside Conde Nast. The Telegraph published a surprisingly nuanced article about the ideological battle that took place behind the scenes in this Enninful vs. Wintour debate. The article is entitled "Why Anna Wintour Won Vogue's War on Waking Up". However, the analysis is spot-on. Highlights: Enninful and Roger Lynch, CEO of Conde Nast, had a disagreement. According to reports, Enninful made his decision at least partly because they disagreed on ideas. Lynch was concerned about Enninful’s progressive politics. Vogue, at its core, is just a business. As recent incidents have shown with Nike, Bud Light and Disney, the corporate world can be a fraught environment where you need to strike a delicate balance between being able to sell your product while also appearing as if you hold the "right views". Enninful’s progressive politics. Enninful was a fashion stylist who had an impressive contacts book. Since then, he's cemented his reputation as a champion of diversity and activism. Paris Lees was the first transgender contributor and Laverne cox, his cover star. Recently, covers featured disabled people. In September, he featured Timothee Chaalmet alone on his cover. Advertisers liked Enninful. Advertisers were said to love Enninful’s new direction. It gave them a chance to be next to a diverse and inclusive range of talent, with social media friendly messages. The company attracted advertising worth hundreds of millions from BMW. Also, there were some positive comments about the circulation. Conde Nast is notoriously opaque when it comes to its circulation figures, but Enninful’s Forces for Change September 2019 issue, which featured Greta on the cover and was guest edited by the Duchess, sold out within days. Enninful became a more activist editor, but for others, the magazine's entertainment was sacrificed to his activism. Farrah Stors, a former Elle editor, wrote in a Substack article that "Everything about [Enninful] made him not a classic editor, which is to say a journalist trained with a background in words." She writes that "Vogue evolved from a playful fashion magazine, even if it was a little horsey," to a political manifesto. Along the way people stopped buying the magazine, and instead, it was given away, or sold for a discount. It was too political, joyless and had forgotten its role as an upscale shopping magazine. Octavius black, chief executive at consultancy MindGym, says that diversity is important for business. "Not only does it make moral sense, but also good business sense" he adds. Black, who co-founded MindGym with a psychologist knows a lot about behavioural sciences. "We know inclusive companies outperform their non-inclusive counterparts. Some of these issues, however, can be polarising because it appears that certain protected categories are competing with one another. As we have seen in Scotland, women's rights and rights for transgender people can clash. You run the risk of appealing to a small group, and losing your appeal to other people. It's important to sell your product and show how ethical and responsible you are as a business. But, it is not wise to take a stand on controversial social justice issues. It would be foolish to come out in America for or against abortion. This is not to say it does not matter, but a company's role should not be to make a statement on such issues....

Prince Harry's deposition in his lawsuit against Mirror Group Newspapers concluded yesterday, on Wednesday, 6th June. He spent about a day-and-a-half on the witness stand and was subjected to hours of cross examination by MGN lawyers. The judge also asked him some direct questions. Many in the American media and British press have been misled into thinking that this case depends solely on Harry and that Harry has to provide incontrovertible evidence of MGN's hacking. Harry is not the only plaintiff. The court has already heard from Mirror editors and journalists about how they sourced their stories. MGN has been the subject of many legal actions in the past. Harry also noted that MGN had destroyed evidence of its criminal activities. Harry spoke on the last day of his testimony about why he started to take legal action against MGN, and other newspapers. The Duke of Sussex revealed that he sued tabloid papers over phone hacking to protect his wife. Prince Harry, 38 years old, said he was thinking of ways to defend Meghan without having the Royal Family's legal team involved. He said, "I believe it was a conversation about how to find a solution to the abuse, intrusion, and hatred that were directed at me and my spouse." "And to see whether there was a way to find another course of action, without relying upon the institution's attorneys." The Duke has filed a lawsuit against Mirror Group Newspapers over 148 articles that he claims were the result of illegal activities, such as phone hacking. In his second day of testimony, he revealed that Sir Elton John had introduced him to David Sherborne. The Duke suggested that Mr Sherborne was the one who had proposed legal action. The Telegraph Harry thought that the only way to protect himself was to follow whatever instructions he received from royal lawyers. Harry was never represented by those lawyers alone. They represented the interests of the Firm. The Firm preferred to negotiate deals behind closed doors, rather than sue tabloids directly. Harry did not realize that he had the option to hire his own attorney and pursue justice without having to rely on the royal-affiliated team of lawyers until 2019. Even the most conservative British media outlets admitted that Harry did well. He didn't lose temper or have a breakdown while on the witness stand. He did not pretend to know all the answers, and his legal team seemed well prepared. Fans cheered him as he left court. Avalon Red provided the photos. At one time, it seemed as though as Peter Parker (Tom Holland) would find himself ejected from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The relationship between Disney — Marvel Studios’ corporate owner — and Sony soured in the early summer of 2019, and the success of Venom and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse seemed to indicate Sony could invent its own cinematic universe to rival that of Marvel. In fact, the studio always looked at the MCU as something to emulate.
Once again confident in those ideas, they forged ahead the early 2020s developing projects for something they called (for a brief moment, anyway) the “Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters.” At the same time, the relationship with Disney was repaired (reportedly at Holland’s behest) and despite the third MCU Spider-Man film receiving a No Way Home subtitle, the character remained firmly in that universe by the movie’s conclusion.
Nevertheless, Sony continues its plans with a full film roster in what is now called Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. And although the live-action version of the title character is still a universe or two away, the studio is deep into making his friends and foes movies stars in their own rights. So let’s take a look at all the films the studio has announced — and a few they’re developing — in their bid to create their own connected universe. Kraven the Hunter (Photo by Steve Granitz/Getty Images) Release Date: October 6, 2023 What We Know: Aaron Taylor-Johnson stars as Sergei Kravinoff. Presumably, the film will chart his rise from the scion of deposed Russian aristocracy to a big game hunter who eventually sets his sights on Spider-Man. That said, Taylor-Johnson referred to the character as an “animal lover and a protector of the natural world.” The movie also stars Russell Crowe as Kraven’s father, Fred Hechinger as Chameleon, Ariana DeBose as Calypso, Alessandro Nivola as Rhino, Christopher Abbott as the unnamed primary antagonist, and Levi Miller in an undisclosed role. Production took place across 2022. J. C. Chandor directs from a screenplay by Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Richard Wenk. According to reporters who saw scenes from the film — including a moment in which Kraven bites the nose off of a poacher — and its first trailer at the 2023 Cinemacon, the film will be a violent, R-rated affair. We also expect Kraven will be the next person Adrian Toomes (Michael Keaton) contacts to join his gang. Well, provided that Morbius stinger scene ever amounts to anything more. Madame Web (Photo by Theo Wargo, Jeff Kravitz/Getty Images) Release Date: February 16, 2024 What We Know: In Marvel Comics lore, Madame Web is a mutant with precognitive abilities who guides Spider-Man on various occasions. In the 1990s Spider-Man: The Animated Series, she superficially sought to train him for a battle spanning the Multiverse. But for Sony’s feature film, Dakota Johnson will star as Cassandra Webb, a woman on her way to becoming the title character. Whether or not her film will ultimately tie into Sony’s plans for Spider-Man remains to be seen, though. Tahar Rahim, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Emma Roberts, Mike Epps, Adam Scott, and Zosia Mamet also star. Euphoria’ s Sydney Sweeney will appear as Spider-Woman Julia Carpenter. Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama provide the script while S.J. Clarkson directs. Production occurred from summer of 2022 to the earlier parts of 2023, necessitating a delay in the film’s release to early 2024. El Muerto (Photo by Amy Sussman/Getty Images) Release Date: January 24, 2024 What We Know: Announced at the 2022 CinemaCon, musician Bad Bunny is set to star as El Muerto, a more obscure ally of Spid...

Prince Harry appeared in court to testify about the Mirror Group Newspapers
Here are some pictures of Prince Harry arriving in court today to testify against Mirror Group Newspapers. MGN's attorney threw a fit in court because Harry wasn't at court yesterday. I believe that the British media was convinced that Harry would appear, and all outlets had sent out photographers and videographers to stake out court. Harry's first court appearance was always scheduled for today, June 6th. These photos are hard to take - it was like a carnival with photographers and media outlets all vying for their shot of Harry. Many outlets broadcast live, as if it were the arrival of a monarch. Don't tell me Harry-arriving-at-court outsold the coronation? It will be the very first time in over a century that a British royal/prince has appeared in court. Harry will tell how the Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror, and other tabloid media hacked his phone, stalked and paid off his girlfriends and made life hell for him since he was young. You can imagine that the Windsors support their British tabloid friends. Page Six reported that Prince Harry's new courtroom drama will likely widen the gap between him, King Charles and Prince William. The prince, who has been a renegade for years, flew to London in order to testify in the Daily Mirror hacking trial. He is the first royal to ever give evidence before a court. One highly-placed palace source responded: "I cannot imagine anyone being pleased" and added that they would be "privately bracing their selves." A royal insider added: "Harry will see himself fighting their battle, too, in order to protect the reputation and the monarchy. In most cases, the royal family avoids confrontation with media. The litigation process is long. Not to mention, it is expensive and stressful. You never know what the other side will do or say. Mirror Group Newspapers' (MGN) lawyer Andrew Green KC has already informed the court that the majority of stories about Harry were based on information provided by royal households and members of the Royal Family. The royal insider added, "There is a very good reason for the royal family to feel uncomfortable." Hugo Vickers, a noted writer and historian, pointed out that Harry would have to answer all questions under oath unlike his interviews with Oprah and Tom Bradby. Vickers said to Page Six, "It makes it look like another circus." "He has time to come to England and cause trouble but not to see his family or try to resolve any major issues. He is also exposing himself to an aggressive council that will ask him many disagreeable questions, which he must answer. From Page Six The Windsors are amoral and morally bankrupt. They don't see tabloids as partners or part of their communication. The Mirror Group will be able to claim that the information they have comes from the palace and not hacking. This is the reason why the Windsors seem so "concerned". Their tabloid partners are unreliable. This: "He has time to come to England and cause trouble but not to see his family or try to resolve any major issues." - Charles fled the country to avoid Harry. Avalon Red and Backgrid provided the photos.

The top 10 basketball movies are all Certified Fresh, meaning they were all slam dunks with critics. Hoop Dreams and The Heart of the Game are both documentaries, following high schoolers (the former set in Chicago, the latter featuring an all-girls team in Seattle) as they pursue their ambition on the court. Hustle and The Way Back are comeback stories both on and off screen: Adam Sandler and Ben Affleck get to show off their dramatic chops as coaches after releasing a string of movies not taken seriously by critics. Affleck has a particular affection for basketball, as he released the crowd-pleasing Air in 2023. Air is similar to High-Flying Bird in that they both delve into some of the most legendary business deals in professional basketball. Love Basketball, directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, blends romance and sports together, tracking a young athlete’s growth across high school, college and beyond. From the same year as Love Basketball, 2000’s Finding Forrester sees director Gus Van Sant working the same gameplan that made Good Will Hunting a success. And He Got Game and White Men Can’t Jump hook in that ’90s edge, with Spike Lee, Denzel Washington, Wesley Snipes, and Woody Harrelson all performing at the height of their powers.
Recently, we’ve added the Ben Affleck-directed and starrer Air (we call this one a shoe-in), Disney family drama Chang Can Dunk, and the White Men Can’t Jump remake. —Alex Vo #1 Adjusted Score: 101232% Critics Consensus: One of the most critically acclaimed documentaries of all time, Hoop Dreams is a rich, complex, heartbreaking, and ultimately deeply rewarding film that uses high school hoops as a jumping-off point to explore issues of race, class, and education in modern America. [More] #2 Adjusted Score: 100204% Critics Consensus: Hustle doesn't have any fancy moves, but it doesn't need them -- Adam Sandler's everyman charm makes this easy layup fun to watch. [More] #4 Adjusted Score: 94534% Critics Consensus: It may adhere to the sports underdog formula, but Hoosiers has been made with such loving craft, and features such excellent performances, that it's hard to resist. [More] #5 Adjusted Score: 98276% Critics Consensus: High Flying Bird takes a thoughtful and engrossing look at professional sports that sees Steven Soderbergh continuing to test the limits of new filmmaking technology. While it has seemed slow to arrive, The Flash is quick to get audiences going, according to the first reviews of the new DC comic book movie. While it has seemed slow to arrive, The Flash is quick to get audiences going, according to the first reviews of the new DC comic book movie. Starring Ezra Miller as the titular superhero, previously seen as an eager team player in the DCEU movie Justice League , The Flash is also a time-travel movie and a multiverse smorgasbord of nostalgia and cameos, including a well-publicized return from Michael Keaton as Batman. Many of the reviews also point out that the movie does start out really well and is likable enough throughout but becomes too much in the second half, with too much going on and too many characters to follow. Here’s what critics are saying about The Flash: Does it live up to expectations? “The Flash may not be the greatest comic book movie ever made, but it comes damn close.” – Pete Hammond, Deadline Hollywood Daily “The Flash doesn’t reinvent the superhero genre by any means, but it’s still one of the most consistently entertaining entries in the genre in years.” – Daniel Howat, Next Best Picture “It’s certainly an above-average entry.” – David Rooney, Hollywood Reporter “The good barely outweighs the bad here, at least enough for me to give The Flash a marginal recommendation.” – Matt Singer, ScreenCrush “One of the most spectacular and frustrating mixed bags of the superhero blockbuster era, The Flash is simultaneously thoughtful and clueless, challenging and pandering.” – Matt Zoller-Seitz, RogerEbert.com (Photo by Warner Bros.) How does it rank among DC movies? “One of the best DC Comics movies out there.” – Travis Hopson, Punch Drunk Critics “At its core, The Flash is a film that exudes the aura of the past, channeling its predecessors, Superman ’78 and Batman ’89.” – David Gonzalez, The Cinematic Reel “One of the best DC Extended Universe films.” – Brandon Zachary, CBR.com “The Flash is, by far, the best movie to come out of this modern, post-Nolan Warners/DC collaboration.” – David Fear, Rolling Stone “The Flash is the first DC movie to somewhat emulate the early films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, something DC has been chasing for a very long time.” – Daniel Howat, Next Best Picture “I would hesitate to even put this film on the same level as others in the increasingly-tired genre that both Marvel and DC have run into the ground.” – Pete Hammond, Deadline Hollywood Daily “It does not work as a pseudo-finale to the DCEU, which it seemed to have been pigeonholed into becoming pending the upcoming reboot.” – Sheraz Farooqi, CinemaDebate How is Ezra Miller’s performance? “Miller excels in their performance as the dual Barry Allen/The Flash.” – Carla Hay, Culture Mix “Miller, putting a spin of effrontery on every line, is the perfect actor to play this corkscrew superhero.” – Owen Gleiberman, Variety “Miller does an impressive job making the two Barrys into distinct people; the illusion is so convincing that you sometimes forget that a lot of this movie is just one actor talking to themselves.” – Matt Singer, ScreenCrush “The troubled star turns out to be the film’s chief asset, bringing humor, heart, and a vulnerability not often seen in big-screen superheroes.” – David Rooney, Hollywood Reporter “Simply put, better casting you could not imagine. Whatever the well-publicized personal-life troubles the actor has had simply do not matter here; Miller is the real deal and a superhero superstar is born.” – Pete Hammond, Deadline Hollywood Daily (Photo by Warner Bros.) What about Michael Keaton? “The highlight is Michael Keaton, who fully embraces a tired and almost stir-crazy Dark Knight to deliver a performance that’s impossible to not appreciate.” – Brandon Zachary, CBR.com “He very much steals the show at times, proving that he has still got it.” – Tessa Smith, Mama’s Geeky “It’s a performance to go nuts for.” – David Gonzalez, The Cinematic...

The Windsors did not schedule anything for Lili's birthday, but maybe they did. People just ignored it. The British media seems to be desperate for any news about Lili and Archie. They even pretend that they have Montecito sources that knew of Lili's party plans. Prince Harry and Meghan will celebrate Princess Lilibet's second birthday in a memorable way. Lilibet Diana was born on June 20, 2021, when the Sussexes lived in Montecito in California. She has spent the majority of her life there and only once met her father's family, during the Queen Elizabeth Platinum Jubilee, which coincided with her first birthday. Royal expert claims that after celebrating Lili's first birthday in Frogmore Cottage, Windsor, her second birthday will be a 'all American affair'. The Sussexes have not revealed many details about the life of their young princess, but it was revealed earlier this year that the ceremony in which she was christened took place at the Sussexes mansion worth $14 million. Last year, cute photos of Lilibet's summer birthday were shared with her friends, including photographer Misan Harris, a friend of the Sussexes. Jennie Bond, royal expert at OK! Lilibet's 2nd birthday could be a star studded affair in the US. She said that she would expect a few celebrities to attend a relaxed party with other toddlers. It would be great to see a video message from Lilibet to her grandfather King Charles. Also, if possible, a gift will be sent to Montecito on Lilibet's birthday. The Daily Mail I don't think the Sussexes had a huge party. We just don't know, and that is wonderful. I love how they can raise their children quietly and exist as they wish. I doubt that Charles spoke to his granddaughter via video, given the fact that Charles did not invite Archie or Lili to his coronation. He made it a point to evict his grandchildren from the British home that they had renovated and leased. Do we really believe Charles sent us a gift? Probably. The Express reported just a few weeks ago that Charles wanted to send Lili "a custom-made cubbyhouse." Yeah, it's doubtful. The Sussex Squad also raised money for charity on Lili's Birthday - more than $100K for KABOOM. Today is the 2nd birthday of Little Princess Lilibet Diana! Thirtyyears on, the 1990s has solidified its stature as one of the magical decades in filmmaking, much like how we view the ’30s and the ’70s. Precisely, this Gen X-decade pulled together the Hollywood studio power of the ’30s and the groundbreaking creativity of the ’70s, crocheting commercialism and art into the movie behemoths we speak of in legend as the ’90s blockbuster — which we’ve now ranked all by Tomatometer!

First off, in putting together this list, we didn’t want no scrubs: We defined the ’90s blockbuster as any film that made over $100 million at the box office in the ’90s — movies that had people literally lining up around the block to spend their easy-earned cash. (The economy was booming after all.) This, of course, ushers in all those films synonymous with ’90s blockbusterism, including Jurassic Park, Speed, Twister, Independence Day, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, The Phantom Menace, Armageddon, Wild wild West, and Batmans with three different guys.
But the ’90s blockbuster was more than just fast buses, exploding White Houses, and bat nipples. Audiences opened up wallets and handbags (they’re European!) on brazen independent films (Pulp Fiction, Good Will Hunting, The Blair Witch Project), big comedies (Sister Act, The Nutty Professor, The Waterboy, Dumb Dumber, The Birdcage), and romances both funny and dramatic (Pretty Woman, Shakespeare in Love, Jerry Maguire, Ghost).
It was the era of the Disney renaissance (Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King), special-effects breakthroughs (Toy Story, Total Recall, The Matrix), and where the most popular movies of the year could reasonably expect a Best Picture statue come next February (Unforgiven, Titanic, Dances With Wolves). A scintillating ’90s blockbuster can transport us to that moment before cinematic universes, before CGI overload, and before ubiquitous cell phones and Internet; today, Lloyd Christmas can just DM Mary Samsonite and say “Hey, I have your briefcase :)” if he weren’t still illiterate.
Now, relive the rush of the decade without the searing sting of slap bracelets, or shotgunning Fruitopia, with our guide to every ’90s blockbuster ranked by Tomatometer! #1 Adjusted Score: 106980% Critics Consensus: The rare sequel that arguably improves on its predecessor, Toy Story 2 uses inventive storytelling, gorgeous animation, and a talented cast to deliver another rich moviegoing experience for all ages. Synopsis: Woody (Tom Hanks) is stolen from his home by toy dealer Al McWhiggin (Wayne Knight), leaving Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen)... [More] #2 Adjusted Score: 105528% Critics Consensus: Entertaining as it is innovative, Toy Story reinvigorated animation while heralding the arrival of Pixar as a family-friendly force to be reckoned with. Synopsis: Woody (Tom Hanks), a good-hearted cowboy doll who belongs to a young boy named Andy (John Morris), sees his position... [More] #3 Adjusted Score: 101849% Critics Consensus: It follows a predictable narrative arc, but Good Will Hunting adds enough quirks to the journey -- and is loaded with enough powerful performances -- that it remains an entertaining, emotionally rich drama. Synopsis: Will Hunting (Matt Damon) has a genius-level IQ but chooses to work as a janitor at MIT. When he solves... [More] #4 Adjusted Score: 104320% Critics Consensus: As both director and star, Clint Eastwood strips away decades of Hollywood varnish applied to the Wild West, and emerges with a series of harshly eloquent statements about the nature of violence. Synopsis: When prostitute Delilah Fitzgerald (Anna Thomson) is disfigured by a pair of cowboys in Big Whiskey, Wyoming, her fellow brothel... [More] #5 Adjusted Score: 101528% Critics C...

From Netflix’s sci-fi anthology series Black Mirror and Henry Cavill’s final turn as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcherto FX’s celebrated restaurant drama The Bear, here’s a taste of the TV and streaming shows you should catch up on before they return in June. 82% Cruel Summer (Freeform Hulu) What it is: An anthology drama series (with a bit of a whodunit bent) that takes place during different periods of time in the 1990s, Cruel Summer follows the problematic relationship that develops between two teenage girls during their formative high school years. Season 2 premieres June 5. Why you should watch it: If Pretty Little Liars and Memento had a baby, Cruel Summer would be it. Steeped in some wild YA flair, the series jumps around in multiple timelines to piece together an unfolding mystery that’s kicked off by a crime. The emotional core of the story falls on the female leads, which places the story lens specifically on their high school experience. Add in the period flavor of the 1990s, and a fair share of soap-y drama, Cruel Summer is a riveting binge that’ll keep you guessing until the very end. Where to watch: Freeform and Hulu (Subscription, season 1); buy season 1 at Prime Video and Apple TV. Commitment: Approx. 10 hours (for the first season) 94% It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (Hulu) What it is: A group of oblivious narcissists – Mac (Rob McElhenney), Charlie (Charlie Day), Dennis (Glenn Howerton), Frank (Danny DeVito), and Dee (Kaitlin Olson) – better known as, “The Gang,” are the owners of South Philly Irish bar, Paddy’s Pub. Each episode finds these worthless degenerates doing any con, scheme, or hair-brained career move to make a quick buck. Nothing is too low for these folks, and that’s what makes It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia so dang funny.Season 16 premieres June 7. Why you should watch it:It’s the longest-running live-action TV sitcom in history, and that’s really saying something. In all that time, the series has remained relevant while continuing to deliver the unflinching laughs at our core group of depraved antiheroes. The Gang isn’t supposed to win, but watching them continue to try is a cathartic experience that keeps on giving. Where to watch: Hulu (Subscription, seasons 1-15 ); buy seasons 1-15 at Vudu, Prime Video, and Apple TV. Commitment: Approx. 54 hours (for seasons 1-15) 93% Never Have I Ever (Netflix) What it is:A dramedy that follows a first-generation Indian-American high school student who strives for popularity and status while dealing with family, friends, and all the emotional strife that comes with being a teenager. Season 4 premieres June 8. Why you should watch it: Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher co-created the series and, given their previous creative partnership on The Mindy Project, it’s clear they’ve found a formula that works. Never Have I Ever is a comedy, a drama, and a romance all wrapped up in a coming-of-age tale inspired by Kaling’s own formative years. Where to watch: Netflix (subscription, seasons 1-3) Commitment: Approx. 12 hours (for seasons 1-3) 90% Human Resources (Netflix) What it is: This animated workplace comedy (which is a spin off of Netflix’s raunchy hit Big Mouth) pulls back the curtain on the daily lives of the Hormone Monsters, Depression Kitties, Shame Wizards, and all the other supernatural entities that help people through every aspect of life from puberty to parenthood to the golden years. Season 2 premieres June 9 Why you should watch it:Using Big Mouth as a starting off point, Human Resources ventures beyond the hilarious horrors of puberty to dig into the meat of adulthood. And hoo golly do things get complicated. The gross humor fan have come to expect is here in in droves, but there’s also a surprising amount of heart. It’s a wonderful soul-stirring mix of sex jokes, potty humor, and life...

Leo must be trying something different, perhaps because the internet made fun of him for dumped Morrone. Leo was concerned that the joke was over. He felt exposed. Since then, he has been trying to minimize the damage. He is convincing people that Gigi Hadid, a 28-year-old crone and single mother who looks haggard in her old age, is his girlfriend. Page Six believes they've got a lead. Leo went out with his mother AND a model aged 28. Leonardo DiCaprio paused his partying for a night with friends, including British model Neelam Gil and Irmelin Irdenbirken. Page Six exclusively obtained photos of the 48-year-old "Titanic' actor as he left London's Chiltern Firehouse on Tuesday. Gill was photographed following behind the movie star's mother as they left the venue. DiCaprio was dressed in his typical look: a black bomber, jeans, white sneakers, and his baseball cap. He covered his face with a mask made of black that only covered his eyes. Indenbirken and Gill both wore all-black outfits for the event. A group of friends joined the actor, the mother and the model for dinner. DiCaprio, the dark-haired beauty, and several other beautiful women were seen together leaving Hotel Martinez, France, a week ago. Page Six reports that while DiCaprio has been known to date young, beautiful women in the past, Gill isn't dating him. She is actually dating one of DiCaprio's friends who attended the dinner. From Page Six Neelam is British-Indian. You're telling me Leo is seeing a Desi girl? This is a hilarious and huge moment for my community. Neelam may be gorgeous, but she doesn't look anything like Leo. She's beautiful and she is a model. She's not blonde, and she isn't under 25. It's... interesting that they are just friends. Leo is known to go on group dates when he first starts dating someone. It's possible that Leo and Gill are dating, but this is still early. Leo and Neelam were both at Cannes Film Festival in 2014. Was that where they first met? Interesting. Weekend Box Office Results: Across the Spider-Verse Scores Second-Biggest Opening of the Year
The animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse may be the lowest grossing Spider-Man film (or Spider-Man-adjacent film, like the Venoms) since 2002, but it is also the one holding the Oscar. Not only that, but it holds the highest rating with critics on the Tomatometer, Certified Fresh at 97%, and its reputation has certainly been elevated in the years since its release in 2018. This weekend, its sequel opened with one of the longest running times ever for an animated film at 140 minutes. But it also saw one of the biggest sequel bumps ever as well. King of the Crop:...
King of the Crop: Across the Spider-Verse Scores Second-Biggest Opening of 2023 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse opened to the second-best Thursday “preview” ever for an animated film with $17.35 million. Only Incredibles 2 did better with $18.5 million. (The Super Mario Bros. Movie opened on a Wednesday and did not have previews.) That $17 million is folded into what became the best opening day of 2023 with $51.7 million, beating Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’s $48.1 million. (Again, The Super Mario Bros. Movie has the best Friday of the year with $54.8 million, its third day of release.) Spider-Man’s Thursday and Friday led to a opening weekend of $120.5 million for the Spider-Verse, putting it in league with some of the most boosted sequel events we have seen in the past 40 years. The 2018 film opened in December to just $35.3 million and went on to gross $190.2 million. That is a 341% increase from the first film. Taking out of the equation follow-ups that built anticipation over a decade or more, like Top Gun: Maverick and Hannibal, here are some of the highest increases we have ever seen after word-of-mouth and discovery took over. Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (475.17%) Scream 2 (418.15%) Pitch Perfect 2 (366.21%) Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (341.35%) The Matrix Reloaded (230.26%) The Dark Knight (224.98%) Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls (212.04%) A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (209.92%) Die Hard 2 (206.03%) Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (205.05%) Elm Street 3 was more the result of a much wider release than a lot of fan love for Freddy’s Revenge at the time, and Pitch Perfect 2’s percentile is based off the original’s wide expansion in its second week. (The first film initially opened to $5.1 million in 335 theaters.) That is still an impressive list to be a part of. Other 200% sequel increases include Crocodile Dundee II and Rambo: First Blood Part II (also both the result of massive theater increases for their sequels) as well as Insidious: Chapter Two. $113 million also bests DC’s Wonder Woman as the highest opening ever for the first weekend in June. Worth noting that the only film since 2016 to open over $100 million in its first three days and not get itself to $300 million was this year’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Across the Spider-Verse is not going to have that kind word-of-mouth, and it feels like it could stay No. 1 for a second weekend, even with the new Transformers film debuting next week. The Top 10 and Beyond: Fast X Drops Hard, New Releases Fail to Impress Last week’s No. 1, The Little Mermaid , has been having a positive week after some cautious signs in its estimate decline its first few days. With $40.6 million this weekend, the live-action remake is over $186 million and continues to pace closely (for the time being) with 2019’s Aladdin, which had a $42.8 million second weekend and a $185.5 million 10-day haul. Anything above $20 million next week will keep it on a $300+ million pace. Anything below and it may find itself closer to The Matrix Reloaded’s pace, which saw that film end up just over $280 million domestic. It is Mermaid’s international total that has to be more concerning to Disney. At just $78.9 million entering the wee...
