Prince William was 'literally sick with worry' prior to the Sussexes Oprah interview
Each royal reporter is aware of who has spoken to whom in the Windsor family. All of them have been briefed, and all also have royal insiders or sources. They all know the person who warned Prince Harry not to get serious with Meghan due to what color skin their children might have. They all know the person who made Meghan cry. Each royal reporter is aware of who has spoken to whom in the Windsor family. All of them have been briefed, and all also have royal insiders or sources. They all know the person who warned Prince Harry not to get serious with Meghan due to what color skin their children might have. They all know the person who made Meghan cry. All of them know how, when and where William attacked Harry. All of them know that Meghan, who was suicidal at the time and desperately in need of help, was pushed away from her family and left on her own. Harry and Meghan aren't the only ones who know these stories. Harry and Meghan are being slammed by the rota because they want to know about all this information, but they have to wait for HM. Harry's inclusion in Spare and the other things that Meghan said in her interview with Oprah in 2021, I believe we can say that Harry has been very secretive. I recall the atmosphere of the British media after the interview - outrage and performative angst. There was also a strange undercurrent that felt like relief. The Sussexes' allegations were not as bad as expected. Speaking of guilty consciences, let's look at this: Prince William was "sick" with worry over Prince Harry’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey. According to reports, the Prince of Wales "cut himself off" from the rest of the world in preparation for his brother's explosive interview with wife Meghan Markle scheduled in March 2021. Charlotte Griffiths, Editor at Large for the Mail on Sun, told Dan Wootton on GB News Tuesday that she had heard the story for a while. William was literally sick from worry in the days leading up to the Oprah interview. She claimed that he was not eating and had become - not reclusive, but definitely hiding away. "He went into a royal house for a while to isolate himself from the outside world." He was in pieces, essentially." Griffiths claimed that Kate Middleton stepped in "to protect" William. Kate stood by her man. Kate said: "I have to stand up for him and protect him." "He's being destroyed,' she thought, and this probably made her steely. She has a reputation of being shy, but that didn't stop her. When it comes to her husband's protection, she will step in and do so. From Page Six They all know, as I said. All of them know why William was "literally ill with worry". They know he was constipated and engorged by sorrow, because he thought Harry and Meghan were going to detail everything he had done, said or done, including every racist comment, violent act, and every rage-tantrum. Why is Charlotte Griffiths saying this now? And why does she frame it in the way that "William spit himself out of terror, so Brilliant Keen Kate protected him"? What's the story here, Charlotte Griffiths asks us. Does it serve to remind William of how much s-t he gave the Sussexes, or is there a deeper meaning? To remind William of the fact that the Sussexes could have really exposed him more? Photos by Avalon Red Backgrid and CBS.

Irina Noselsky, CEO of Hootsuite, was invited to Collision 2023 where she conducted a QA session with Evan Hansen. Hansen is the Co-founder, Editor-in Chief and Co-Founder of Meteor. Evan Hansen asked Irina the first question: How are you finding your new job? She shared in a matter of milliseconds that she had no problem becoming a social chief executive. This relieved her of the pressure to justify the 30 minutes she spends on social media every morning when she wakes up. Irina and Irina continued their discussion on the evolution of social media, the impact of technological disruption, and how brands can continue to be where their customers are: On social, where five billion people spend several hours each day. We know that you are busy right now (scrolling through Threads), so we’ve compiled a list of some of the most important takeaways Irina made during her talk. Discoverability is the key to attracting your audience It’s more difficult than ever to strike the right balance between using social media channels to engage with your customers and keeping up with social trends without losing the unique voice of your brand. Due to the volume of social media, users are now able to quickly assess content and determine what is interesting. Authentic discoverability is a key factor as brands begin to recognize the importance of social on a wider scale. We’ve seen that Gen Z has influenced the shift in social media, and social users want content that is relatable, and speaks to them not as consumers, but as people. Irina summarized, “People want to buy directly from people.” The greatest strength of your brand is its employee base Hootsuite has seen time and time again that when customers unleash their greatest strength – their employees – it amplifies the expertise of their field by human-to-human interactions on social. Colliers, an investment management and professional services company, is a shining example of the impact an employee advocacy program has on an organization. Hootsuite Amplify enabled them to provide quality content that was brand safe for their 18,000 employees. They could then share it on their channels. It was easier for employees to create their own personal brands and increase awareness of Colliers by using the tools that were most important to them. What are the results? Colliers employees in 2022 shared 4,700 posts. This resulted in an impressive reach of 9,5 million people, a 43% improvement over the previous year. Remember the days when companies feared that their employees would talk negatively about them online? We’ve come a very long way since then. Although this is a relatively new area, brands still have a lot to learn. Those who trust their employees will reap the benefits. By providing employees with brand-safe social media content, you can empower them rather than put them at risk. You can’t ignore customer service on Facebook. Poor customer service is the most common way to lose customers. You’ll remember a time when you had a bad experience with a customer service team, whether it was in person or on the phone. The thought that comes to mind is: “You don’t deserve my money.” In fact, according to a J.D. Power found that 67% consumers had used social media to contact a company for customer service. They also expect a quick response, with 42% anticipating a reply within 60 minutes and another 32% within 30 minutes. Irina explains that “not being on social media 24/7 is no longer an alternative.” You can see it in action every day. Think of the time when TikTok, Instagram and Alix Earle’s friends were stranded after a booking fraud in Italy and Air...

Angelina Jolie visited New York a lot in the last few months. She has been living in Los Angeles since 2016, when she filed for divorce. She bought a house that is close to Brad Pitt’s Los Feliz compound. Pitt sold it recently. I wondered why she made so many trips, and hoped that maybe it was to spend time with Jonny Lemke. She brings her children to NYC often, and late in June she was there with Zahara Pax and Shiloh. Is she moving to a new home? Does she want residential property? Art News reported that Angelina had been looking for a commercial space to house her new fashion group, Atelier Jolie. She decided to rent the famous address that was Jean-Michel Basquiat’s former work space. Angelina Jolie, actress and humanitarian, will take over the Manhattan property where Andy Warhol lived and worked. John Roesch, Garrett Kelly and Meridian Capital Group, two directors of the agency, confirmed the deal today for the property located at 57 Great Jones Street. Jolie will lease the space under long-term commercial usage for eight years for her latest venture, Atelier Jolie. The interior features 6,600 sq. ft. of space spread over three floors. The building's exterior is decorated with street art. Jolie plans to keep it this way as a tribute to Basquiat who began his career as half of the SAMO graffiti art duo. Roesch said that "[Jolie] wished to preserve the older artwork on the building and maintain the Basquiat feeling to the space." Kelly said, "She loved that the building's facade was adorned with street art in a tribute to Basquiat." Warhol rented Basquiat's second-floor apartment shortly after their first meeting. Warhol bought the building originally in 1970. The property had a long history before Warhol bought it. The building was originally constructed in the 1860s. It was bought by Paolo Antonio Vaccarelli, aka Paul Kelly, who opened the Brighton Athletic Club in 1904. The building was used for a kitchen supply business, a metalworks company and subsequently as a metalworks business until 1970. The property most recently housed the exclusive Japanese restaurant Bohemian. Atelier Jolie is a workshop that will provide an opportunity for tailors and artisans from around the globe who are underrepresented. Participants will have the opportunity to showcase and work on their designs at 57 Great Jones Street. Roesch said that Jolie intends to open her business "as soon as possible". The property had previously been listed with Meridian Capital Group at $60,000 per monthly for a minimum period of 10 years. From Art News That's expensive. I understand why it is so expensive. I can see the reasons, not only for the space, but also because of the pedigree. So I was curious about what Atelier Jolie actually entailed, what type of business it would have and how it would operate. We are getting a closer look at that. Refugee creators will create capsule collections, and they will likely collaborate with established design houses as well. The first collaboration is with Chloe. Will Atelier Jolie designers come to this Basquiat property and work there, or is this more of a showcase space? Will they be at New York Fashion Week this year? The time will tell. But it's still interesting. Do you think Angelina will actually buy or rent residential property in New York to manage this project nearby? Backgrid is the source of these photos. Foundation Executive Producer David S. Goyer On Season 2, The Powers Of The Mind, And The Future Of Superhero Media
Sometime in the far future, a scientist discovers the inevitable collapse of a galactic human empire and devises a way to reduce a subsequent 30,000-year dark age into just a millennium of horror and despair. But to do it, he must commit to some despicable things. To make matters more difficult, his predictive program cannot account for individual actions in its calculations, which introduces X-factors into his plan. Of course, that’s only a secondary concern for Gaal Dornick (Lou Llobel), the intern left to deal with his scheme following his death.
That’s the basic premise of AppleTV+’s Foundation , which returns this Friday for another year of mind-bending, time-traveling, human-exploring science fiction. But the basics of Foundation, based on the novel series by Isaac Asimov, only scratches the surface of what the program does on a weekly basis. Shifting between very human stories – like that of Gaal and Salvor Hardin (Leah Harvey), the child she never knew about when she went into cryogenic sleep 150 years before they meet, and the grand design of Dr. Hari Seldon (Jared Harris) – offers the rare sort of prestige series that contains both an ongoing plot and the opportunity to tell short stories. (Photo by David M. Benett/Getty Images)
When Rotten Tomatoes caught up with Foundation executive producer David S. Goyer , he said being able to shift into both modes of storytelling was also part of the design.
“I always pitched the show is a bit of a hybrid,” he explained. “Each season’s going to be a contained story, and in that way, it’s an anthology.” Taking its cues from Asmiov’s novels and short stories, each tale more or less contains the expected crises Hari’s accounted for in his psychohistory program. But unlike the novels, Gaal, Salvor, and a few other characters carry on via various science fiction means (cryosleep, cloning, etc.) into the distant future even as new characters, like Brother Constant (Isabella Laughland), and Hober Mallow (Dimitri Leonidas), are introduced.
“We probably can’t pull off that trick every season, but yeah, part of the fun, I think, baked into the concept is this inherent refresh,” he said.
Another baked-in aspect is the way episodes can become more laser-focused on one topic, like Cleon XI’s (Terrence Mann) last day in season 1 or, as Goyer teased, a few episodes in the upcoming season. “Everyone was very nervous when we did that initially because we broke the format so much, but then they loved it and they said, ‘Oh, can we do more of that in season 2?'” he said. Referring to the episodes as “short films,” he added they are “well-placed [at] strategic points along the journey.” (Photo by Apple TV+)
“I like that sometimes the show is very fast-paced, but other times, I like that we just really slowed down and kind of zoom in on this little microcosmic story and do a little beautiful tone poem,” he continued.
Of course, the show cannot sustain itself on tone poems, big ideas, and the macrocosm of Harry’s psychohistoric predictions, hence the continued presence of Gaal and Salvor, two women who bring the galactic scope back down into the human element – even if they face coping with the ultimate familial estrangement. Through various complications, the two do not meet until roughly 150 years after Salvor was conceived and removed from Gaal’s womb to delay gestation until their colony ship made planetfall.
“Most of us are familiar with family dysfunction, and most of us have parents that we wish we had a closer relationship with,” Goyer said. “And so — pun intended — the whole foundation of Salvor’s journey at the end of the first season was, ‘I’m going to journey across the galaxy and I’m going to meet my birth mother, and I’m going to feel accepted, and I’m...

Along with the seventh installment of an impossibly action-packed franchise, this week brings the return of a popular show about vampires, a movie about a summer camp for thespians, another season of an anthology murder mystery series, and an RT25 pick with some great hairstyle ideas for you. 96% Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning, Part One (2023) Dangling into theaters is Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One . There are plenty of reasons to go on this mission, the first of which being that — we don’t know if you’ve heard — Tom Cruise does his own stunts, and this time around, they boast one of the most aggressive stunts not only in the M:I franchise, but movie history.Another reason to see this is that we can now officially report that Dead Reckoning Part One is a big hit with critics, with a Certified Fresh score of 96% on the Tomatometer, making it the second-highest scoring installment in the franchise, just below its predecessor, 2018’s Mission: Impossible – Fallout .
And joining Cruise on screen again are familiar faces like Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, and Rebecca Ferguson, with Christopher McQuarrie once again serving as director and co-writer. And remember, this is just the beginning of this story, with Dead Reckoning Part Two set to release next year in 2024. Where to Watch: In theaters 100% What We Do in the Shadows: Season 5 (2023) Emerging for a fifth season is the mockumentary comedy horror series What We Do in the Shadows .Born from the 2014 film of the same name, this show has had four very successful Certified Fresh seasons leading up to this one, with two coming in at 100% on the Tomatometer and the others not far behind. Throw in a couple Emmy noms for Outstanding Comedy Series, and that’s a great first reason to give this one a shot. Plus, the series is still influenced by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi, the latter of whom wrote, directed, and starred in the film. The series was created by Clement, with Waititi serving as executive producer and occasional director, along with Clement.
On top of all that, the series — which follows four vampire roommates in Staten Island — has already been greenlit for a sixth season as well. So it’s about time you get out of the shadows, and get invested in this show. Where to Watch: FX, Hulu 79% Theater Camp (2023) Another option for theater-goers this week is the indie comedy flick Theater Camp .And for the first act, aka the first reason to see this one, all you have to do is look at the impressive cast that not only includes Tony-winner Ben Platt, but two stars from the hit show The Bear . One is the film’s co-star Molly Gordon, who also co-directed it alongside Nick Lieberman in their directorial debuts, and the other is Ayo Edebiri in a supporting role. Another reason to consider attending this one is the fun premise, which centers on the directors of a rundown theater camp in upstate New York who try and put on a masterpiece of a show to keep their beloved summer tradition afloat.
The film premiered at Sundance earlier this year and is currently Fresh at 78% on the Tomatometer, accompanied by a strong 73% Audience Score. Where to Watch: In theaters 95% The Afterparty: Season 2 (2023) Joining the fun with the premiere of its second season is the AppleTV+ series The Afterparty . If you haven’t seen this one yet, now is the time. It’s a murder mystery anthology series that’s also a comedy, with each episode being told from a different character’s point of view and in a different genre, ranging from animated to thriller to musical in season 1.That unique approach is the first reason to see this one.
Another is the cast, which includes season 1 stars Tiffany Haddish and Sam Richardson returning for season 2, but with all new people around them. Think, Knives Out and Glass Onion . That includes...

All Guillermo has ever wanted was to be a vampire. Season 5 of What We Do in the Shadows fulfills the long-suffering familiar’s wish — maybe.
“The backstory I’ve given Guillermo is that he was bullied when he was little and that he wanted to be a vampire because they were so beautiful and glamorous and free sexually, their minds. They had everything at their fingertips, and they were immortal,” actor Harvey Guillén, who plays Guillermo, explained to journalists visiting the show’s set back in November. “They were captured in one time when they were the best version of themselves, and they lived like that forever. And I think he wanted to be that because of that, because of the personal trauma that might have happened to him as a child.”
But “personal trauma”? In a vampire mockumentary?
Heart is the FX comedy series’ secret weapon. The title added four more nods to its long list of Emmy nominations the week of its season 5 premiere. Its Emmy nominations over the years have included five for writing, two for “Outstanding Comedy Series” in 2020 and 2022, as well as those for sound, production design, and others. Costume designer Laura Montgomery, supervisor Judy Laukkanen and assistant costume designer Barbara Cardoso took home a win for the series last year for “Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes.” Kristen Schaal as The Guide, Harvey Guillén as Guillermo, Natasia Demetriou as Nadja, Kayvan Novak as Nandor, Matt Berry as Laszlo, Mark Proksch as Colin Robinson (Photo by Pari Dukovic/FX) Season 5 picks up after Guillermo bribes accidental vampire Derek (Chris Sandiford) to put the bite on him — a process that plays out in season 5’s premiere that will be achingly familiar to any viewer who has had an awkward first kiss or other intimate encounter.
“They’re both kind of grossed out about it. And then it ends up being very sloppy and messy and frightening for them,” showrunner and executive producer Paul Simms revealed during the set visit. “And the biggest thing of the season is that after he’s done this, after he’s taken this drastic move, he finds out from the other vampires that a familiar getting turned by a vampire who’s not their master is the most humiliating thing that a master can suffer.”
The feelings are very human. The circumstances are decidedly not. Season 5 trailers so far show Matt Berry’s Laszlo exercising his “gentleman scientist” muscles on Guillermo, secretly trying to help the fledgling vampire understand his powers (or lack thereof). Laszlo has behaved dismissively toward the familiar in the past, but, as with his vulva topiary hobby and season 4 parenting of baby Colin (Mark Proksch), the elder vampire has something of a caretaker streak to his personality.
“You see, again, a softer side of Laszlo,” Simms said of Laszlo’s season 5 story.
About the baby Colin storyline, Berry recalled, “For me it was really a sort of breath of fresh air, because I could…show another side of [Laszlo] and be less sort of hedonistic and less narcissistic; though we have to still do that, otherwise it’s not fun — you know what I mean? He’s got to be an idiot and all those things. You can’t then just turn him into this sort of dad of the year, because that’s not what people want, I don’t think, from him.” Matt Berry as Laszlo (Photo by Pari Dukovic/FX) Laszlo may be a hedonist, but his passion for his mate Nadja (Natasia Demetriou) is one of the strongest bonds on the series. Berry said that the relationship is like nothing you’ve ever seen in a comedy, and that sort of rarified dynamic was one of his prerequisites for doing the series in speaking to series creator and executive producer Jemaine Clement and executive producer Taika Waititi, whose 2014 film is the basis of the television show.
“I think it’s refreshing to see people who...

Bissell's Crosswave is a vacuum and mop in one. Cordless, it works on hardwoods, tiles and area rugs. It has an automatic cleaning cycle. Now on sale at over 50% off, it's under $200. Fakespot gives the Bissell Crosswave 4.2 stars and over 7,800 reviews. It also has an A. It is said to be easy to clean pet hair and dirt. I was skeptical when its advertising claimed it could clean both wet and dried messes, big and small. I was soon proved wrong by my family. It is not only light and easy to carry up and down the stairs, but its battery life is amazing." "This is a great time-saver." It's better than a swiffer wipe, but not as good as squatting down and cleaning the house. I accept this compromise as having the home clean to 90%+ is a big win." Amika The Wizard hair primer 30% off CB: My hairstylist introduced me to Amika and I will never be without it. The Wizard Primer is so good for my hair, it seems to dry it faster and smells nice. It has 7900 ratings with 4.5 stars, and a B grade on Fakespot. It's a favorite of most women. Trissola's true keratin treatment is a regular part of my blow-drying/straightening process. I have thick, curly and straight hair. This primer is my favorite product to use before drying my hair. It works as a heat protector, detangles and softens my hair. It is effective and doesn't leave my hair greasy. It smells incredible." Eufy handheld vacuums are 40% off. You'll use them every day. CB: I have Eufy security cameras and two robot vacuums that are both on sale for Prime Day. This cordless handheld vacuum is currently on sale at Prime Day. It's only $36. ReviewMeta gives it the same rating of 4.3 stars, with over 4,000 reviews. It's lightweight, has great suction and is perfect for detailing cars. I've tried small handheld vacuums in the past and have always been disappointed. Eufy is my favorite brand so I decided to give it a go... and I love it! The suction is amazing, and the crevice/brush is fantastic! It's perfect for cleaning high chairs, car seats and crumbs from the couch. "I loved it so much, I bought one for my daughter." "Very good suction. The replacement is awesome. "I use it for my car, and I love the attachment." Garnier SkinActiv Micellar Cleansing Water 39% Off Garnier Micellar Water is my daily face wash and I will buy more since the price has dropped to under $15 per two large bottles. It has received over 50,000 reviews, with 4.7 stars. The same score is also given by ReviewMeta. It's great for those with sensitive skin, and people love that it removes eye makeup without irritation or drying. It's refreshing and removes makeup effectively. I use a cotton ball to apply it and then my face. It is not...

2023 Emmy Nominations: Biggest Snubs & Surprises
Shrinking star Harrison Ford missed out twice in this year’s Emmy nominations Much of the 2023 Emmy nominations were as predictable as a TV trope.
Befitting the late media oligarch Logan Roy (lead actor in a drama nominee Brian Cox), the final season of HBO’s Succession wiped the floor with everyone and scored 27 nominations — a move that seems appropriate because last season’s best drama series winner really is both a comedy and a drama.

And there were 21 biscuits for the comedy boss that is Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso. Last year’s best comedy series winner is nominated again in that category and also has many repeat acting nominations. Hulu’s grittier newcomer The Bear didn’t even come close to reaching Ted Lasso heights, with only 13 nominations including best comedy series and some acting shout-outs — that’s what you get when you’re a drama competing in the comedy categories.
Even some of the snubs have been done before. Barry’s Sarah Goldberg, who was last nominated in 2019 for supporting actress in a comedy for the HBO series, was shut out again this year (the show was nominated for best comedy and there were nominations for lead actor Bill Hader, among others). The final season of FX’s Atlanta was almost entirely absent from this list (carry that torch, cinematography for a series nominee Christian Sprenger). And creator Taylor Sheridan’s Paramount Network series Yellowstone and its Paramount+ prequel 1923were also MIA.
But there were still some 2023 Emmy nominations snubs and surprises that are worth noting. Surprise: Pedro Pascal Is Daddy Pedro Pascal in The Last of Us on HBO. (Photo by Liane Hentscher/HBO) Fulfilling the prophecy set forth by his Saturday Night Live hosting stint, Famcam favorite Pascal received three nominations this year: One for lead actor in a drama for playing de facto parent Joel in HBO’s zombie thriller The Last of Us, one in the guest actor in a comedy category for hosting SNL, and one for narrating the CNN series Patagonia: Life on the Edge of the World. Snub: Best Comedy Can’t Read My Poker Face Natasha Lyonne in Poker Face on Peacock. (Photo by Peacock) Poker Face star Natasha Lyonne is nominated for lead actress in a comedy and Peacock’s tongue-in-cheek murder mystery series also has nominations for stunts, production design, and a guest actress in a comedy (for Judith Light). But the Academy folded on giving the Rian Johnson–created program a spot in the best comedy series category. Surprise: Jury Duty Is in Session Ronald Gladden and James Marsden in Jury Duty on Amazon Freevee. (Photo by Amazon Freevee) Amazon Freevee’s twist on the hidden-camera format was convicted of four nominations. These include best comedy series and best supporting actor in a comedy for James Marsden. The Westworld actor plays a heightened version of himself, or at least an extreme version of a “celebrity,” in this show about a fake trial where everyone knows it’s fake except for one guy (the non-actor Ronald Gladden). Snub: Melanie Lynskey is Yellowjackets’ Sole Acting Survivor Melanie Lynskey in Yellowjackets on Showtime. (Photo by Colin Bentley/Showtime) While Showtime’s horror drama about starving teens trapped in a forest earned three Emmy nominations this year, including best drama series, almost all of its extensive cast was shut out in the cold. But this is the second consecutive lead actress in a drama nominee for Lynskey, who plays the adult version of survivor Shauna, for the show. She’s also nominated for guest actress in a drama for appearing in HBO’s The Last of Us.
Last year, Lynskey’s Yellowjackets co-star Christina Ricci was nominated in the supporting actress in a drama category. Neither actress won that year. Surprise: Ms. Pat Show Gets Another Directing Nod Some awards forecasters were taken aback last year when Mary Lou Belli received a best comedy directing nom...

We’re celebrating 25 years of Rotten Tomatoes with a look back at the most celebrated movie of each year since 1998, concluding the series by saying, “Action!” It’s a genre that has much overlap with previous articles, especially for science-fiction and superheroes. But we sent the likes of Avatar, The Matrix, and even The Hunger Games into sci-fi consideration, and all the elevated tumblin’ and brawlin’ of Marvel, DC, and Archie Comics under the purview of the superhero genre.
What remains is a toned, finessed list of the best action movie of each year, chosen by applying our recommendation formula. It’s a calculation based on the Tomatometer and Audience Score that prioritizes titles that stood out among critics and fans, combined with a pinch of curatorial love from our editors.
And, naturally, the list begins with a possibly controversial pick: 1998’s Saving Private Ryan. Obviously, it’s a war movie, though the argument can be made that’s a subset of the action genre. Plus, Steven Spielberg’s re-creation of the D-Day Allied invasion contains more concentrated action filmmaking than some entire franchises.
1999’s Three Kings is an even more offbeat war movie choice, combining a satirical story with more conventional cool. And then we doubt there’ll be much objection to the 2001 selection, Ridley Scott’s relentless Black Hawk Down.
The highest-recommended action movie for 2000 was Ang Lee’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and in its wake we see the rise in taste for pan-Asian action movies brought over to America. See: Jet Li’s Hero (2002), Tony Jaa’s Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior, Stephen Chow’s Kung Fu Hustle (2004), John Woo’s Red Cliff (2008), and Takashi Miike’s 13 Assassins.
David Cronenberg makes an unlikely appearance with the graphic A History of Violence in 2005. And in 2006 and 2007, we get the best of Bond and Bourne: 007 reboot Casino Royale, and from the franchise that made James get serious, The Bourne Ultimatum. (Skyfall, the other major Bond highlight from the Daniel Craig era, tops 2012.)
Then get blasted by the ’70s and ’80s with 2009’s blaxploitation tribute Black Dynamite and synthwave-pioneering Drive. After that, we see Mark Wahlberg launch his true-story movie triumvirate with director Peter Berg in 2013’s Lone Survivor. (They later made Deepwater Horizon and Patriots Day.)
Starting in 2014, the action game changed with Keanu Reeves and Tom Cruise. The two have been going back and forth as the world’s top action star with the John Wick movies for Reeves and the Mission: Impossible and Top Gun movies driving Cruise. With us for the ride are Shane Black’s The Nice Guys (2016), Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver (2017), Mads Mikkelsen’s Riders of Justice (2020), and Bob Odenkirk’s Nobody (2021). #1 Adjusted Score: 101212% Critics Consensus: Anchored by another winning performance from Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg's unflinchingly realistic war film virtually redefines the genre. Synopsis: Captain John Miller (Tom Hanks) takes his men behind enemy lines to find Private James Ryan, whose three brothers have... [More] #2 Adjusted Score: 99066% Critics Consensus: Three Kings successfully blends elements of action, drama, and comedy into a thoughtful, exciting movie on the Gulf War. Synopsis: Just after the end of the Gulf War, four American soldiers decide to steal a cache of Saddam Hussein's hidden... [More] #3 Adjusted Score: 103777% Critics Consensus: The movie that catapulted Ang Lee into the ranks of upper echelon Hollywood filmmakers, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon features a deft mix of amazing martial arts battles, beautiful scenery, and tasteful drama. It was probably 2021 that she vanished, with no public appearances or sightings for a period of ten to eleven weeks. She did a few things during her holiday last summer, but still, she disappeared for most of the summer. What are Kate's summer plans? Kate plans to "work", according to Vanity Fair/OK Magazine. ? Summer is normally a slow season for royals. But this year, Prince William and Kate have packed their schedules full. The couple have been spending more time in public, with family events such as Trooping the Colour, last week's Scottish service honoring the coronation and William's whistle stop tour to promote his initiative on homelessness. Kate has also had engagements to fulfill her role as president of the VA, and the All England Lawn Tennis Club. One insider told OK!Magazine that Kate's busy schedule is intentional. Kate's busy schedule is not accidental, according to Magazine. The insider stated that "she's taking more engagements than she ever has before." She feels it's important for the monarchy to be seen out and active and not just relax all summer. Insiders also said that King Charles III is pleased with Kate's desire to attend more public events. The insider said that King Charles was delighted to see Kate taking on more events and duties. "Especially since the British public is more likely to see her during the summer months, she gets to spend time with an audience that waits for her all year to get time off. [From Vanity Fair] So we should give her credit for working in the summer because she had events in early June? She does it all the time. She is usually on the move before and during Wimbledon. Then, after the Wimbledon finals, she disappears for two months or ten weeks. You know, call me when she has events planned post-Wimbledon? What's on her calendar for August 1? What about September? TheMax streaming service miniseries grew out of an article Solomon read in the early 2000s about an insurance scam ring in Queens and also has hints of the Akira Kurosawa film High and Low, Soderbergh said. It follows two families who seemingly have nothing in common:One is made up of upper-crust Manhattanites Sam Browne (Claire Danes) and her husband Derek (Timothy Olyphant), who helped turn her dad, Jeff (Dennis Quaid), from a small-time tomatillo maker into an Emeril Lagasse–like personality and are now reaping the benefits with a fancy Fifth Avenue apartment, black-tie galas, and their sheltered and overprotected son Jared (Ethan Stoddard). (Photo by Max) The other “family” is a more liberal definition of the word. It’s a Guyanese crime syndicate headed by CCH Pounder’s lioness Savitri Mahabir. Among her disciples is her nephew, Jharrel Jerome’s power-hungry Aked. He’s put in charge of a mission that includes two new recruits: his fiancée Natalia’s (Adia) brother Louis (Gerald Jones) and his friend Xavier (Sheyi Cole).
That mission? Kidnap Jared, a kid they’ve never met or even heard of until they receive this order.
Things don’t go to plan, especially with Zazie Beetz’s Mel Harmony, an agent with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, on the case. The central crime overlaps with something she’s covering, and her boss, Manny Broward (Jim Gaffigan), is asking his own questions. Over the six episodes, secrets are exposed, allegiances are made, and moral dilemmas become life-or-death decisions.
“I was viewing this whole thing as a real New York City melodrama,” Soderbergh said. “I liked the sprawling aspect of it and that it started out about this group of well-off white people being victimized and then, over the course of the show, the whole thing starts to … tilt. But by the end of it, we’re in a very different place than where we started. But I liked the sort of bait-and-switch aspect of it.” Sheyi Cole as Xavier, Gerald Jones as Louis and Adia as Natalia (Photo by Max) Soderbergh’s own penchant for reality programming has long amused his fans. And he justified his fascination with the upstairs-downstairs yacht-centric Bravo program Below Deck earlier this year when he told Rolling Stone that this is a show where a ship’s crew members are frequently put in a position of “if you’d literally done nothing, you would be in a better situation than you are now.”
In his mind, Full Circle presents the opposite of that. Soderbergh said there’s even a line in the series where Gaffigan’s Manny sat by Danes’ Sam “on the bench at Washington Square Park and said, ‘If you actually do nothing, this will all go away and go back to normal.'”
“That was an expression of my witnessing people in my life getting themselves into more trouble by making a choice that is demonstrably worse than if they’d literally done nothing,” Soderbergh said of that scene.
The stakes for this show are even higher, Olyphant told Rotten Tomatoes, because it is a program that puts younger people’s lives in danger.
“It’s the heartbeat of the show; all the young people in the show,” Olyphant said. “They are at a point in their lives where they’re about to be full-grown adults and have to make these kinds of decisions in their own lives. They’re still somewhat innocent. But they’re not little, little kids that make some very adult decisions.” Jharrel Jerome as Aked and Adia as Natalia (Photo by Max) Soderbergh described the brother and sister Louis and Natalia as “the heroes” of the show because “they’ve found themselves in a bad circumstance, but they’re good people.” These circumstances are best epitomized by Jerome’s...

From FX’s iconic crime drama Justified and hilarious comedy What We Do in the Shadows to Neil Gaiman’s Good Omens and the return of AMC’s thriller Dark Winds, here’s a taste of the TV and streaming shows you should catch up on before they return in July. 81% The Lincoln Lawyer (Netflix) What it is: Show creator David E. Kelley brings Michael Connelly’s Mickey Haller crime novels to life on the small screen. Just like the 2011 movie (which starred Matthew McConaughey), the Netflix series follows Haller, a Los Angeles lawyer who tackles cases, both big and small, as he runs his practice out of the back of his Lincoln Town Car. Season 2, Part 1 premieres Thursday, July 6. Why you should watch it:Thanks to the assortment of likable characters (played by extremely watchable actors Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Becki Newton, Neve Campbell, and Angus Sampson), the breezy L.A. tone, and the accessible procedural narrative of the series, it all comes together in a binge-worthy way that’ll keep viewers glued to the screen. Where to watch: Netflix (subscription, season 1) Commitment: Approx. 8 hours (for the first season) 89% The Afterparty (Apple TV+) What it is: A twist on the tried-and-true whodunnit formula that follows the events of a party, where a group of old high school friends are all suspects after their superstar friend is murdered. The comedy series flips things on its head, as each episode, which is told through a different suspect’s perspective, also pays homage to a distinct movie genre. Season 2 premieres Wednesday, July 12. Why you should watch it: Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse ’s Phil Lord and Chris Miller are the creative team behind the project, which features a packed slate of comedy talent. Tiffany Haddish, Sam Richardson, and Zoë Chao return in the new episodes, with Elizabeth Perkins, Zach Woods, Paul Walter Hauser, Poppy Liu, Anna Konkle, Jack Whitehall, Vivian Wu, John Cho, and Ken Jeong rounding out the new season’s comedy ensemble. It’s smart, funny, and will keep you guessing until the very end. Where to watch: Apple TV+ (subscription, season 1) Commitment: Approx. 6 hours (for the first season) 98% What We Do in the Shadows (FX on Hulu) What it is: The mockumentary-style comedy series — inspired by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi’s cult film of the same name — explores the lives of four vampire roommates (Nandor the Relentless, Laszlo, Nadja, and energy vampire, Colin Robinson) and Guillermo, Nandor’s familiar, who does whatever it takes to keep everything in order. Season 5 premieres Thursday, July 13. Why you should watch it:Clement created the series, and both he and Waititi have directed multiple episodes. That detail alone is reason to watch. The humor of the original movie lives on in the series, which has expanded way beyond the confines of a feature film. The ensemble performance of the core Staten Island crew (Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, Harvey Guillén, and Mark Proksch) is the hilarious heart of the series. And the show’s ability to mine the horror genre for new and exciting plot details is the icing on the cake. Where to watch: Hulu (subscription, seasons 1-4); buy seasons at Vudu, Prime Video, and Apple TV. Commitment: Approx. 17 hours (for seasons 1-4) 97% Justified (FX on Hulu) What it is: Based on the character by celebrated author Elmore Leonard, Justified follows the crime-fighting exploits of Deputy Raylan Givens, a modern-day gunslinger whose methods cause plenty of conflict with criminals and the U.S. Marshals Service, for whom he works. After a face-off with an offender goes wrong, Raylan finds himself stationed in the last place he’d want to go: Harlan County, Kentucky, his childhood home. To travel by release (i.e. as they hit theaters), here’s the five-stop movie itinerary: Indiana Jones movies ny release order Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008) Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023) The first four movies are on Disney+, and will be joined by Dial of Destiny once it concludes its 2023 theatrical run.
Now, if you’re up for a little adventure (and if you’re not, you’ve come to the wrong series, pal), whip up a knapsack of popcorn and let’s snake our way through the Indiana Jones series by its chronological timeline.
The first entry isn’t a movie at all, but the TV series The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. Sean Patrick Flanery steps into the Indy role, and this George Lucas-created show reveals what the budding icon was up to from 1908 to 1920. Expect all the hallmarks of the franchise: Riddles and artifacts, passport-stamping escapades, run-ins with historical figures, a tenuous father-son relationship, and even Harrison Ford, who puts in a cameo. The series is available on Disney+ as The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones, edited into 22 feature-length entries.
Then we leap into the movies with Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, set in 1935. This is the one with Indy’s sidekick Short Round, with the opening set in Shanghai before going deep into the jungle caves of India as Dr. Jones is roped into saving village children from a human-sacrificing cult. Raiders of the Lost Ark is set one year later in 1936, and takes us to Egypt, the former kingdom of Nepal, the Mediterranean Sea, and exotic America as Indiana chases the famed Ark of the Covenant, featured in best-seller Book of Exodus. The Last Crusade has a prologue that’s set in 1912, before jumping forward to 1938, where we travel to Italy, Nazi-infested Austria, and Turkey as Indy, his pops Henry, and old pal Sallah search for the Holy Grail. The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull plants its future flag with a 1957-set story. This atomic age-inflected adventure features nuclear explosions, possible aliens, and the return of old flame Marion Ravenwood.
And finally, Dial of Destiny takes us to 1969, after an opening sequence set in 1944. See the list below for Indiana Jones movies and series in chronological order. —Alex Vo Synopsis: The young explorer crosses paths with historical figures.... [More] #2 Adjusted Score: 86544% Critics Consensus: It may be too "dark" for some, but Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom remains an ingenious adventure spectacle that showcases one of Hollywood's finest filmmaking teams in vintage form. Synopsis: The second of the Lucas/Spielberg Indiana Jones epics is set a year or so before the events in Raiders of... [More] #3 Adjusted Score: 103593% Critics Consensus: Featuring bravura set pieces, sly humor, and white-knuckle action, Raiders of the Lost Ark is one of the most consummately entertaining adventure pictures of all time. Synopsis: Dr. Indiana Jones, a renowned archeologist and expert in the occult, is hired by the U.S. Government to find the... [More] #4 Adjusted Score: 94537% Critics Consensus: Lighter and more comedic than its predecessor, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade returns the series to the brisk serial adventure of Raiders, while adding a dynamite double act between Harrison Ford and Sean Connery. Hill Harper was a name I'd never heard before yesterday. His acting career is a steady one, mostly in TV. He has been steadily working since 1993. He's more than just a pretty-faced actor! Harper has a BA from Brown in Economics and Sociology and two masters from Harvard. He also played basketball at Harvard with Barry Obama. He's a multi-faceted, interesting guy. Should he run for Michigan's Democratic Senate seat 2024, where he has only lived 5 years? He announced his candidacy on yesterday: Hill Harper, an actor and former Michigan senator, announced Monday that he will challenge U.S. Rep. Elissa slotkin for the Democratic nomination to fill a Michigan Senate Seat in 2024. Harper, 57 and Slotkin 47 will both be running to replace retiring Democratic Senator Debbie Stabenow. This is expected to one of the most competitive (and costly) Senate races in 2024. Harper reads a message in a video campaign posted on Monday morning to his adopted son, Pierce. Harper, in the voiceover for the advertisement, says "Dear Pierce," "I'm going to make a major announcement. I'm recording this video just for you." It's going be hard for us." Harper says, as clips of the actor and son are shown, "You know I won't be able to tuck in you every night or do our prayers at night together... Fighting for your beliefs is hard, but worth it when you find something that makes you heart beat faster. "And for me, you." Harper says, "Adopting you was the best thing I ever did in my life." Harper, who portrays Dr. Marcus Andrews in the ABC medical drama The Good Doctor moved to Detroit, Michigan, in 2018. She bought a local roaster, and since then has spent a lot of time renovating one the most historic homes. This is his first campaign for public office. Harper studied at Brown University and Harvard Law before pursuing a career in acting. "We live in a state in which I believe the triple-blue leadership in Lansing did incredibly hard work to move the state forward. But in Washington, D.C. it's still broke. People still feel that it is broken. "I'm among them," said the actor in a statement given to The Detroit News. He added: "Our state will be held back if there is no energized and bold leadership in the U.S. Senate." We deserve better than the politics of today, which is why I am running for U.S. Senate. Harper told The Detroit News that he was not sure if, if he were elected, he'd continue filming The Good Doctor. He noted that filming had been put on hold due to the Writers Guild of America strike. "That's impossible because we are on strike." The industry is currently on strike. Who knows, since nothing is happening in the industry? He told the outlet. Harper will face a steep uphill battle when launching her campaign against Slotkin. Slotkin announced her campaign more than four months ago, and since then has raised over $5 million. She also secured several high-profile endorsements. [From People] Harper refused to commit to giving up acting if elected senator. He said it was difficult to predict with the strike of writers. If he is elected, Harper will begin working as a Senator in January 2025. Does he mean that the strike would still be ongoing in 2025? Second, he will not be filming in the event that he is elected to Congress. It's difficult to imagine that Michigan would choose him over Rep. Elissa slotkin, despite his dynamic and educated personality. I looked up her name and it turns out that her birthday was yesterday. He announced his candidacy on her birthday! Below you can watch the video and decide for yourself if the concept of speaking to his son works for you. I didn't find it effective. "You know, you're not going to have me tucking you in at night or doing our nighttime prayers with you." He is choosing to run. He didn't have do this. It's not a logical or expect...

And as the Lamberts thought they were done with the spooky spirit shenanigans after a decade of relative peace, Wilson makes his debut as director with Insidious: The Red Door . A spinoff, Thread: An Insidious Tale, is in the works.
And now, we’re raking the Insidious movies by Tomatometer! #1 Adjusted Score: 72141% Critics Consensus: Aside from a shaky final act, Insidious is a very scary and very fun haunted house thrill ride. Cary Grant's Daughter: I don't think he liked men but I will never know
Humphrey Bogart, and Cary Grant are my two favorite Old Hollywood leading men. Cary Grant is a suave and debonair man if you've never seen his films. He is quite debonair. Humphrey Bogart, and Cary Grant are my two favorite Old Hollywood leading men. Cary Grant is a suave and debonair man if you've never seen his films. He is quite debonair. Cary's magic is his ability to be a comedian. He doesn't take himself too seriously when he is on screen. He is elegant, but he wears it lightly. Cary's homosexuality has been rumored for a long time. Some people think that he had a romantic relationship with Randolph Scott. He lived with him on and off over a period of twelve years. He was married five times. This doesn't prove a thing, but it is a good context. Jennifer Grant, his only daughter, has denied these rumors over the years. Jennifer Grant was recently asked again about this because she is producing a television series about her father, Archie, on ITV, an English TV channel. She continues to insist that her father was not gay, but she adds that she will never be able to know the truth. If you spend a lot of time with your parents, you will see them differently than most people. Jennifer, aged 57, said: "I never noticed a single hint of it." "I would have noticed it, but not because I would care." She continued, "But I must speak the truth: Dad was charming and he had wonderful friendships, but it's not true that he flirted with men." "A friend sent me an image the other day showing Gregory Peck with my father, Mervyn and Mervyn. They're all good friends." But I never got the hint." Jennifer said, "Perhaps he was involved with a man earlier in his career." I will never know. But if he had, that's fantastic. "I hope he liked it." Jennifer wrote this in her memoir from 2011: "Can't fault men for wanting him and wouldn't even be surprised if Dad flirted with me back." The question is usually more about the asker. Dad enjoyed being called homosexual. He said that it made women want "to prove the assertion incorrect." [From People] Grant's biographers disagree on this issue, but I think the rumors are probably true. It's also my opinion that we shouldn't make any definitive statements about the sexuality a person, who is either a) dead or b) would not have been able come out before retirement. Cary, for example, could have lost his career if he had been open about being gay or bisexual. Coming out is also a deeply individual thing. People should do it the way they feel comfortable, even if that means not coming out at all. The person should have the right to decide when and how they come out. Cary was a notoriously private person who grew up at a different time. He may have kept his queerness to himself after he retired, believing that it was no one else's concern. Cary, or any other celebrity of that era, would never have admitted to being gay without saying so himself. We can only speculate. It would be like taking away something from him, his right to come out the way he wants. He didn't get that in his lifetime. If you haven't seen it yet, I encourage everyone to watch Cary’s film Bringing Up Baby. It never fails to make my laugh, no matter how sad I feel. And so Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt has halo-jumped, rock-climbed, motorcycle-duelled, and face mask-revealed his way across dozens of countries to unravel all manner of world threats in the Mission: Impossible movies. He’s had help along the way, featuring a cast of series veterans, like Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg, and occasional players like Jeremy Renner and Paula Patton. Hunt hasn’t had too much help from the IMF, though, considering how many times they think their star employee has gone rogue.
A trademark for most of Mission: Impossible‘s lifespan was bringing in a new director for each entry, ranging from John Woo to Brad Bird to Brian De Palma, giving each entry a unique spin. But Since Rogue Nation, Cruise (who also produces) has found a perfect collaborator in Christopher McQuarrie. He was the first to direct two M:Is in a row, with Fallout raking in the series’ best box office and critical marks. And McQuarrie is directing the next two films: Dead Reckoning – Part One releases this Friday, with Part Twoout June 28, 2024.
