The glitz and glam of Princess Kate has King Charles & Camilla 'unsettled.'
You can tell when a narrative shifts and certain royals start to be "punished" from the palace if you have been reading royal gossips for years. This is happening to the Princess right now. Kate thought that it would be an excellent idea to make King Charles and Queen Camilla look bad by bringing the Chelsea Flower Show to a halt. She has been paying for this ever since. Buckingham Palace is not anti-Kate, but they are trying to "put Kate in her place". They want to make sure that she receives some bad publicity. It's funny to see how the royal roster is trying so hard to pretend that this isn't happening. This is an excerpt from this weekend's "Palace Confidential", as reported by the Mail. Royal experts claim that the popularity of the Princess of Wales is a source of concern for King Charles and the Queen Camilla. However, the Palace views Kate as a "great model for monarchy". Kate Mansey: Mansey insists that the Princess was not 'competing' with her inlaws by her secret engagement. Expert: "I think she is a great role model for the Royal Family [and] the monarchy. They appreciate that." The royal expert said: 'They wouldn't be there if she wasn't brilliant, so I think there is a way for them to all exist. Kate said: "So, a little glitz and glamour from Catherine is welcome." There is room for everyone! Richard Eden's view: Before the Queen died, the royal expert emphasized how royal aides wanted Charles and Camilla complete as many engagements with William and Kate as possible. He explained: "I think that that was an opportunity to show that the monarchy was in safe hands and that it was the future." It's a little different now that [Charles] and Camilla are King and Queen. It could be unsettling for them if they do not get the attention they want. The Daily Mail "A little glam and glamour from Catherine is welcome." Mansey literally says that at Buckingham Palace. She is telling Charles's musty aides to calm down and stop attacking Kate. Robert Jobson may have said the same thing - like courtiers giving Charles and Camilla a little pep talk. "It's fine sir, Kate'll get attention, and it's good!" But the problem is that it suggests that Charles and Camilla do not have enough glitz, glamour, and sparkle on their own. They need Kate to run around in Sister Wife gowns and Shamble Wiglets, providing a shot of royal glamor. Charles and Camilla are indeed "unsettled". You could even describe them as angry, short-sighted, and punitive. Avalon Red provided the photos. Here are photos of Day 2 from King Charles and Queen Camilla’s "surprise visit" to Northern Ireland last week. On Day 1, they opened a public park and stumbled around at a garden celebration. On Day 2, they visited a library and a multi-faith event, as well as meeting with children from immigrant families. According to what I have seen in British newspapers, the visit of the kings and queens was not covered too much. According to the Times article and photos, it may be a good thing. Camilla seemed to be getting shithoused during one of her stops. She told the children she met that they spoke "very good English." As is the King, Camilla enjoys gardening. On a recent visit to Northern Ireland, she admitted that all the weeding and trimming at 75 years old usually makes her "creak". On the second of their two-day trip to Northern Ireland, the Queen visited the 252-year old Armagh Robinson Library. She was also shown sections of Joseph Paxton’s Magazine of Botany. This is a collection of illustrated gardening advice. She told members of Dementia NI: "I am a passionate gardener. I'm a passionate gardener. It's also very therapeutic. But I stay way too long. "Everything creaks and grumbles." Camilla was welcomed by a table full of library volunteers and a group of Drelincourt School children whose English was their second language. She told them: "This work is really special." Without volunteers, the whole country would fall apart. It's a good thing there are so many of you. "Volunteers also receive as much as they give." She said to some children who had arrived in Northern Ireland only two weeks earlier: "You are very good at English." Angela Baleva is six years old, was born in Portugal, and speaks Bulgarian as her first language. She gave the Queen an image she colored in from the Lindisfarne Gospels. She said, "I told her I thought she looked beautiful and she thanked me." The Times Pay people for their hard work, please. Unpaid labor cannot sustain a country built on voluntarism. "You speak excellent English" - Camilla probably meant it as a compliment, but I was irritated by it, considering how hard it is for immigrants to adjust to any new country. Irritating. As for Camilla's creaking and grunting, yeah, those orthopedic kitten wedges say it all. Cover Images is the source of these photos. TAGGED AS: animated, Animation, Disney, Disney Plus, Disney streaming service, movies, Pixar (Photo by Pixar / courtesy Everett Collection) Finding Nemo celebrates its 20th anniversary! When Disney distributed Pixar’s Toy Story as an autumn alternative to traditional 2D animated features in 1995, could the studio have predicted that it would instead set the gold standard and template for theatrical cartoons for decades to come? After all, the slide from peak Disney Renaissance had only just begun (their releases that year were Pocahontas and A Goofy Movie ) and Pixarwas up to that pointa studio that only made commercials and shorts; a feature-length 3D animated movie was a miracle in of itself, and they were not equipped to churn out quality yearly releases like Walt Disney Animation.
Pixar’s follow-up took three years to hit theaters, and though A Bug’s Life is looked back on in the canon as a minor Pixar effort, everyone in 1998 rushed out to see it, and it again ended up grossing more than Disney’s then recent works like Hercules and Mulan . 1999’s Toy Story 2 was a cultural event, and established Pixar as the one to take animation to the highest heights in the new century. What followed was a then-unprecedented run of Certified Fresh hits and box office smashes, from Monsters, Inc.andFinding Nemo to The Incredibles,WALL-E, andUp.
2011’s Cars 2 broke the streak with Pixar’s first Rotten film, and the studio has since spent the past decade oscillating between returning to the sequel well (Monsters University, Finding Dory) and pulling up original property (Coco, Inside Out), closing out with Toy Story 4. For 2020, Onward was pulled from theaters after two due to the pandemic, while Soul went straight to Disney+ in hopes of salvaging a year of chaos. Luca and Turning Red continue to expand the breadth and color of their stories. Spider-Man swung into theaters in 2002, cementing Marvel Comics as a viable player in the superhero movie arena, which had been dominated by DC with Superman and Batman. (Photo by Columbia Pictures / courtesy Everett Collection) Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse releases this Friday! Spider-Man swung into theaters in 2002, cementing Marvel Comics as a viable player in the superhero movie arena, which had been dominated by DC with Superman and Batman. And though 2000’s X-Men felt the need to modernize its team, Spider-Man fully embraced its classical roots, down to the iconic outfit. That’s because director Sam Raimi was a lifelong fan who fully knew how to navigate and celebrate Spidey, from the relatable morality at the core of Peter Parker (played by Tobey Maguire) and the shattering death of his Uncle Ben, to his stormy relationship with Mary Jane and those workplace shenanigans with hard-ass newspaper boss J. Jonah Jameson, and finally Parker’s iconic battle with the Green Goblin, whose son just happens to be Peter’s best friend.
Spider-Man arguably fights the greatest rogues gallery in all of Marveldom, and they certainly got their due on-screen in the Raimi trilogy. Doctor Octopus gets his tentacles all over Spider-Man 2, while Sandman, Venom, and junior Goblin stack the cast in Spider-Man 3. Though a box office hit like the others, Spider-Man 3‘stepid critical and fan response was enough to kill the momentum on continuing the series.
In 2012, Spider-Man was rebooted with The Amazing Spider-Man, with Andrew Garfield as Parker. The film sought to bring in the pre-Mary Jane flame, Gwen Stacy, and pitted Spider-Man against another classic villain, The Lizard, as director Marc Webb developed a more realistic portrayal of Peter’s world, as opposed to Raimi’s comic-book overtone. The second Amazing Spider-Man fell for the too-many-villains trap (we had Electro, Green Goblin, and Rhino), and the franchise shut down again.
With the Marvel Cinematic Universe in full motion, Marvel Studios was able to negotiate a deal with Sony, which holds the theatrical rights to Spider-Man, to get the character to jump to the MCU. Thus, Tom Holland made his debut in 2016 for the centerpiece battle in Captain America: Civil War, before starring in his own celebrated film, Spider-Man: Homecoming one year later.
It’s been good times for Spidey fans ever since, with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (the animated blockbuster that brings Miles Morales into the fold), Spider-Man: Far From Home, and No Way Home. Even his bad guys have reason to celebrate: Critics may not have loved 2018’s Venom, but audiences sure did. And Tom Hardy clearly does as well, as he returned as Eddie Brock for Venom: Let There Be Carnage. In 2022, we arrived at the meme-spawning Morbius, and for 2023, now we’re putting in more Miles for the hotly-anticipated Across the Spider-Verse .

Remember when Kate said Kensington Palace staffers took her driving license and controlled her movements, and then the next day Kate was sent to perform a stunt in front of the paparazzi. Kate was photographed suddenly behind the wheel of a vehicle, as if it were magic. Yesterday, at the same time that the Sussexes released their statement regarding the horrendous paparazzi pursuit, King Charles, Queen Camilla, and Prince Charles held their first joint public event since the coronation weekend. They took pictures in their car and all around it. They are real. It was inevitable and now it has happened - the Princess of Wales attended an event in London today. She was photographed with no paparazzi in sight, walking freely and smiling and laughing as if Harry and Meghan had just been involved in an important security issue. Kate's visit was to the Anna Freud Centre, London. She wore green Suzannah. This dress looks like a repeat. I may be confusing it with another green dress she owns, which all have the same exact design. Her earrings retail at PS11 and are from Accessorize. I guess Camilla isn't really letting Kate wear Royal Collection items, huh? Kate at least had the time to get her hair blown out. Avalon Red provided the photos. I love Elle Fanning, and I am strangely proud of the woman she has become. I remember Elle Fanning as a small girl who was too fragile to survive. She has not only survived but thrived, and she has done so without causing controversy or going through wild-child phase. She looks like she belongs in a bygone era. I love Elle Fanning, and I am strangely proud of the woman she has become. I remember Elle Fanning as a small girl who was too fragile to survive. She has not only survived but thrived, and she has done so without causing controversy or going through wild-child phase. She looks like she belongs in a bygone era. This is why she does so well with period pieces. Elle covers Harper's Bazaar UK's latest issue to promote The Great's latest season, in which she portrays the young Catherine. She speaks a lot about The Great and confirms the breakup of her and Max Minghella. I forgot they were together! Highlights: Her "college experience" was her work: "I have been working on all those "adult" things." How to live alone, who am I?" She was told that she did not need to research historical facts for 'The Great.' "When I first got cast, Tony said there was no need to research anything, as the story was not based on historic fact. Before I took on the role of Catherine the Great, I only knew that she had sex a horse, which is one of the oldest forms of slut shaming. "I wanted to give her name back to her, to show how progressive and forward-thinking she was, championing female education and science, and being a driving force behind the Russian Enlightenment. But was Catherine badass or not? I still hear "Catherine the Great?" It's true that she is a badass, but I'm not sure how accurate it is. She is willing to take risks, but it takes her time to get there. She is powerful but she's not always the strongest person in the room. She can be both clever and naive. She is both a girl, and a lady. I played Catherine during such formative years in my life. "I've grown into a woman along with her." She has gained confidence in her job: "These day, I feel that my voice is important. It took me a long time to realize that I had been doing this job for 20 years. I don't always know the answer but I have realized that you have to sometimes have that Catherine ego to say "Listen to me!" '" I was obsessed by it. I had a moulded bump that reached all the way to my neck. The costume team said that this was pretty accurate for what my body would look like when pregnant... which felt quite bizarre. It was beautiful. "It made me want it to do, to be pregnant." She has an "old spirit". "I am very nostalgic and I don't necessarily feel that I belong in the modern world. I feel comfortable in London and antique shops because London has so much history. A psychic Fanning spoke with once said that she was from a different time, while Dakota was an "alien from the future". She adds with a laugh, "It's logical". Her future: "I would love to play Grace Kelly somewhere. She's currently single after a long relationship with actor Max Minghella. "But I am a hopeless Romantic. I believe that love can be found at first glance. You can call me crazy but I do believe in these things. "I feel it's my destiny." [From Harper's Bazaar] I believe in past lives, and reincarnation is what I think makes some people like Elle seem to be from another era. She loved her past life. She loves the clothes, the style, the feel of the era, and carried it with her to the next. I wonder if she will be able to handle her vintage-aesthetic and romanticism in the future. She has a great head on her shoulders. See this post on Instagram Harper's Bazaar UK shared this post (@bazaaruk). Harper's Bazaar UK, Harper's Bazaar UK cover IG. Photos courtesy Avalon Red. Cate may not be wearing a "new" dress in these pictures, but since she is at the Cruise Collection runway/event, I'm sure they gave her a new outfit. The design is terrible once again. These sleeves are so ugly. It's going to be a very hard job for me. Cate also spoke at an event in Cannes called Kering Women in Motion. She talked about her recent role as a film producer, and how she and Coco Francini, who is also a partner in productions, decided to enforce diversity quotas for the films that they produce. Or, at least, quotas for who they interview to fill jobs. In "Mrs. Blanchett Francini hired a majority of female crew and directors for "Mrs. They decided that they would only work on projects where there was a requirement to interview women and people of color. Blanchett, Francini and their company are proud of the fact that they run a business that promotes diverse voices and women filmmakers from around the world. Blanchett recalls an era in her career, not too long ago, when she was the only female on set. She hopes to change this with her work as producer. Blanchett: "We both have had experiences when we've walked onto set and done the count and wondered why sometimes you feel a little alienated and annoyed." "I realized that I was the only female in the cast...there were 62 men and, yep. I am the only one." Blanchett said. This ratio is really bad...it is disproportionate. It means that you laugh at the same jokes all the time. "I have a great sense of humor but I'm like, Let's switch it up." [From Variety] Some right-wing websites have tried to make it seem like she is dictating all productions MUST be woke. But... saying you are only required to interview a few people of color and females, that's really bare-bones wakeism. It's hardly even woke? It's not that "let's interview some women of colour for this job", is a guarantee that they will be hired. You're just expanding the pool of people who are interviewed. Cate's art-house tastes are so funky, I know she will help make some cool films. Cover Images is the source of these photos.

Does Barbie’s Dream House have a movie theater? It better, because how else is she going to be able to watch the blockbuster film adaptation of the world’s most famous doll? Barbie, the iconic doll that first hit toy stores way back in 1959, is getting her very own live-action movie. It’s hardly the first toy to get the film treatment (see: Transformers, LEGOS, G.I. Joe, and more), but the upcoming Barbie movie feels like it could be something special — or at the very least, extremely interesting. Barbie boasts an incredible cast and an acclaimed director, and though we haven’t heard too many specifics about the plot, what little we do know seems like it has the potential to be buck wild. Here’s everything we know about Barbie. Who Is Directing Barbie? (Photo by Rick Rowell/Getty Images) Greta Gerwig, the writer Oscar-nominated director of Lady Bird and 2019’s celebrated Little Women remake, signed on to write the Barbie movie in 2019 along with her partner, Marriage Story writer-director Noah Baumbach. In July of last year, however, Variety confirmed that Gerwig would also be directing the film. Barbie is a bit outside the norm for Gerwig and Baumbach. Gerwig, who is also an actress, is best known for her quirky and insightful comedy-dramas. Baumbach tends to make highly mannered and somewhat dry films like The Squid and the Whale . Neither’s filmography necessarily screams “the obvious person to make a movie about a famous toy.” But, that’s perhaps what makes Barbie so intriguing. Who’s In It? (Photo by Warner Bros. Pictures) Margot Robbie, best known for her role in Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood and for playing Harley Quinn in three DC superhero movies, signed on to play the title role way back in July 2019. Robbie is also producing the film through her production company LuckyChap Entertainment, with Mattel Films and HeyDay Films co-producing.
For a while, Robbie was the only star confirmed for the movie, but what would Barbie be without Ken? In October 2021, Ryan Gosling was announced as the live-action Ken opposite Robbie. Gosling has previously starred in films like Blade Runner 2049 and Drive , but he’s also done lighter fare like La La Land and Crazy Stupid Love , so it seems rather clear which of his past performances will be the most relevant to his portrayal of Ken.
Robbie and Gosling are not the only big names in the movie, however. In fact, the list of big names in the film is honestly kind of absurd. According to some gossip that New York Times journalist Kyle Buchannan heard at the Cannes Film Festival, there are going to be multiple Barbies and Kens in the film. Insecure star Issa Rae and Hari Nef, the trans actress and model who starred in Transparent , will reportedly both play Barbies, too. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star Simu Liu and Ncuti Gatwa, who was recently announced as the 14th Doctor in the upcoming Doctor Who season, will be alternate Kens. (Photo by Warner Bros. Pictures)
There are a ton of additional actors playing as-yet unknown roles. A-list comedians Kate McKinnon, Will Ferrell, and Michael Cera will all be in Barbie in some capacity. Emma Mackey, the Death on the Nile star who is frequently said to resemble Margot Robbie, will appear alongside her doppelganger in Barbie. America Ferrara, Ariana Greenblatt, Alexandra Shipp, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Rhea Perlman, Sharon Rooney, Scott Evans, Ana Cruz Kayne, Connor Swindells, Ritu Arya, and Jamie Demetriou also are slated to appear in the movie. Emerald Fennell, writer-director of 2020’s Promising Young Woman , has a role as well. All-new character posters for #Barbie, featuring Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Michael Cera, and more. pic.twitter.com/vs2sE0RsbM — Rotten Tomatoes (@RottenTomatoes) April 4, 2023 This cast is truly wild, making it extra funny that Barbie is scheduled to open on the same day as anot...

Avatar: The Way of Water soars to No. 3 and The Super Mario Bros. Movie bounds to No. 21 in our guide to the highest-grossing movies of all time.

Mario and Luigi in The Super Mario Bros. Movie (Photo by Universal Pictures) [Box office figures as of 5/24/2023] WhileAvengers: Endgame andAvatar recently duked it out for bragging rights as the all-time highest-grossing movie, 2021 surprised everyone — to an extent — with the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which blew everyone away, setting new records and entertaining fans all over the world even as the COVID-19 pandemic continued to wreak havoc on the industry. WithNo Way Home landing at No. 6 and Disney’s absorption of what used to be 21st Century Fox, Disney now occupies seven of the 10 top box office rankings of all time worldwide (eight, if you count its joint ownership of Titanic with Paramount).
But even after the release of would-be juggernauts like The Batman, Jurassic World Dominion,The Batman, and a pair of Marvel movies in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness andThor: Love and Thunder, only one film has managed to crack this list in 2022, and boy was it a big one. Tom Cruise suited up again to play ace pilot Pete “Maverick” Mitchell in Joseph Kosinski’s three-and-a-half-decades-later sequelTop Gun: Maverick and delivered what was easily the biggest movie of the summer (and probably the entire year), landing at N0. 13 in the worldwide box office rankings. Who would have thought?
In 2023, The Super Mario Bros. Movie surprised everyone by jolting into the top half of this list in its first six weeks of release. Beyond that, the year does not have a lot of contenders to crack the billion club. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is likely to come up short. Can the farewell of Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny go where the archaeologist has never gone before — without an inflation calculator that is? Can Tom Cruise finally get a Mission: Impossible into the club it deserves? After that, there are no guarantees and we likely won’t need to reconvene until 2024.
For the list below, we’ve included global box office performance, as well as domestic, and release date. We included dollars earned in re-releases, and in each of our descriptions, we look at where the film stood record-wise at the time of its run, and dive into things like critical and audience reception. We’ll be here to track the progress of new blockbusters and regularly update this list of top box office performers. This week’s movie and TV recommendations include the live-action version of an animated Disney classic, and streaming options about friendships, Chinese mythical gods, a CIA family, and some guy named John Wick. What will you be watching? 67% The Little Mermaid (2023) Critics Consensus: With Halle Bailey making a major splash in the title role, Disney’s live-actionLittle Mermaidranks among the studio’s most enjoyable reimaginings. Why We’re Watching: Halle Bailey stars in this iteration as Ariel and has been getting universal praise for her portrayal, she is also joined by talented names like Daveed Diggs, Awkwafina, Jacob Tremblay, and Melissa McCarthy in supporting roles, with McCarthy stepping into the tentacles of sea witch Ursula. Lin-Manuel Miranda also co-wrote all the new songs, alongside composer Alan Menken, who worked on the original animated film’s soundtrack. Where to Watch: In theaters 92% Platonic: Season 1 (2023) Critics Consensus: Even with bold swings and romance off the table, the rambunctious rapport between Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen makesPlatonican ideal relationship comedy. Why We’re Watching: Launching on Apple TV+ is the Certified Fresh comedy series, Platonic starring Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne, who play former best friends who reconnect in midlife after a long rift, and their relationship begins to destabilize their lives. And if those two stars aren’t reason enough to watch, how about the fact that they reunited with series co-creator Nick Stoller, who directed some of the comedy films these two are known for like Neighbors and Neighbors 2 . Where to Watch: Apple TV 95% American Born Chinese: Season 1 (2023) Critics Consensus: Jam packed with inventive flourishes and grounded by lovable actors, American Born Chinesemusters epic elements from Chinese mythology to tell a deeply relatable coming of age story. Why We’re Watching: This show is based on the 2006 graphic novel of the same name, and stars the incomparable Michelle Yeoh — reason Nos. 1 through 100 to watch this one. M aking this one even more appealing is the fact that directors like Lucy Liu and Destin Daniel Cretton did their work behind the camera, proving that the talent spreads far and wide on this series. And critics seem to agree, with early reviews putting this one Certified Fresh in the 90s on the Tomatometer and praise going toward the updates and expansion of the source material. Where to Watch: Disney+ 50% FUBAR: Season 1 (2023) Critics Consensus: With jokes that fall flat and a story that borrows liberally from star Arnold Schwarzenegger’s earlier career triumphs,FUBARis just OK. Why We’re Watching: The main reason to check out this Netflix comedy series is that it stars Schwarzenegger in his first starring role in a scripted live-action series. He stars as a C.I.A. operative nearing retirement who finds out that his daughter (played by Monica Barbaro) is also now C.I.A., leading to some very interesting family dynamics. And if you’re not already sold on this one, check out the comedy-heavy supporting cast that includes Fortune Feimster, Jay Baruchel, Gabriel Luna, Milan Carter, and even Schwarzenegger’s old pal Tom Arnold. Where to Watch: Netflix 94% John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023) Critics Consensus: John Wick: Chapter 4 piles on more of everything — and suggests that when it comes to a well-dressed Keanu Reeves dispatching his enemies in lethally balletic style, there can never be too much. Why We’re Watching: John Wick 4 is offici...

The premiere of The Idol at the Cannes Film Festival put some critics off their canapés this week. Plus, Game of Thrones star Indira Varma will join the new season of Doctor Who , Sigourney Weaver will star in and executive produce The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, Prime Video ordered Daniel Dae Kim spy thriller Butterfly to series, Only Murders in the Building season 3 may have a musical episode, and a trailer dropped for season 3 of I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson . TOP STORY The Idol Endures First Reviews Out of Cannes Euphoria creator Sam Levinson and music artist Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye’s HBO drama The Idolwent into its Cannes Film Festival premiere with baggage: for one, sources in a fiery March Rolling Stone expose calling the production “a s—show” and “torture porn.”
Starring Lily-Rose Depp and Tesfaye, the delayed series will finally roll out to viewers early next month. Critics who saw the Cannes premiere, however, are warning that the series, about a music star who falls under the influence of a cult-like leader, comes off as “sleazy” and “gross.” It currently has a 27% Tomatometer score on 15 reviews. Here are some reactions from the critics at Cannes: “It’s crude, gross, and sexist.” – Robert Daniels, The Playlist “Grim, gross, and vulgar.” – Roger Friedman, Showbiz 411 “The show’s sleaze (intentional and not) would be one thing, but it’s the hideous, self-excusing presentation of rape culture that rankles.” – Caspar Salmon, The Daily Beast “Sexiness is absent in The Idol, for all Depp’s loveliness. Instead, it feels more like sleaze and torture porn.” – Jo-Ann Titmarsh, London Evening Standard “Nasty, brutish, [feels] much longer than it is, and way, way worse than you’d have anticipated.” – David Fear, Rolling Stone “The script seems calculated to fool audiences into thinking they’re observing how Hollywood operates, when so much of it amounts to tawdry clichés.” – Peter Debruge, Variety “Even the music is dreadful.” – Robbie Collin, Daily Telegraph (UK) The reviews are not all negative, however: “The Idol offers up enough regular old entertainment to balance out his aggressive flourish and the bluster of his thematic ambitions.” – Richard Lawson, Vanity Fair “The way it captures the sickness of the fame machine will stay with you long after the credits roll.” – Lex Briscuso, Mashable “The same audiences that fell hard for Euphoria — another show about the terrors of being young — will likely do the same for this one. It is buzzy, brazen television that will do exactly what it set out to do: get people talking.” – Douglas Greenwood, Vogue And Ed Potton of the Times (UK)offered this backhanded compliment: “There’s an authentic and chilling lack of worthiness in the way #MeToo and mental health are tackled.” The Idol premieres on Sunday, June 4 on HBO. – Debbie Day Trailers: I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson Brings Loads of Rage, Absurdity, and Laughs in Season 3 Trailer Tim Robinson’s offbeat brand of humor is coming back to Netflix for a new installment and, by the looks of the above trailer, we can safely say, “Triples is best.”
There’s nothing really coherent going on in the clip – well, aside from a bunch of blabbering screaming fits by the program’s star and creator – but that’s all a part of the Emmy-winning sketch series’ charm. And considering the stacked roster of guest stars, which includes Jason Schwartzman, Tim Meadows, Fred Armisen, Sam Richardson, Will Forte, Patti Harrison, Ayo Edebiri, Mitra Jouhari, Tim Heidecker, Beck Bennett, Conner O’Malley, Biff Wiff, and Carmen Christopher, we’re betting this new outing will tickle the funny bone in a variety of disturbing and concerning ways.
“We’re gonna go nuts,” a random man says in the trailer. We believe you, Mr. Robinson. And we are here for it. I Think You Should Lea...

This WEEK’S TOP STORY JOHN WICK UNIVERSE TO CONTINUE WITH JOHN WICK 5 AND SPIN-OFFS Keanu Reeves in John Wick: Chapter 4 (Photo by Murray Close/Lionsgate) Most studios try to build cinematic universes with consistent box office appeal, but Lionsgate is one that’s actually done it, with four John Wick films to date. Lionsgate recently wrapped filming on the first John Wick spin-off, Ballerina, releasing June 7, 2024, and starring Ana de Armas, and this week, Lionsgate Chairman Joe Drake revealed other John Wick expansion plans. Those plans include (somehow) a John Wick 5, and as Drake said, “What is official is that, as you know, Ballerina is the first spin-off that comes out next year. We’re in development on three others, including [John Wick] 5 and including the television series, The Continental, which will be airing soon.” Mel Gibson will star in the series The Continental: From the World of John Wick when it premieres on Peacock this fall on September 22. Read Also: Everything We Know About John Wick TV Series The Continental 1. VIN DIESEL TEASES ALL-FEMALE FAST FURIOUS SPIN-OFF Fast X poster (click to open full poster in new tab) (Photo by Universal Pictures) Two weeks ago, a quote from Vin Diesel suggested that Fast X would be the first part of a three-part finale to The Fast and the Furious franchise. This week, however, Diesel seemed to explain how the eventual 11th Fast and Furious film can be the franchise finale, but that there are two movies still to come. That’s because Diesel confirmed plans for an all-female Fast and Furious spin-off. Who exactly would make up such a team isn’t clear, but there are several characters the film could include those played by Brie Larson, Daniela Melchior, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, and Cardi B. The Variety article also seemed to imply that another actress could be featured, but this one is definitely a Fast X spoiler. There are currently no release dates for the untitled 11th Fast and Furious or the female spin-off. 2. QUENTIN TARANTINO’S THE MOVIE CRITIC WON’T BE AS PREVIOUSLY REPORTED (Photo by ABC via Getty Images)
When Quentin Tarantino’s 10th (and possibly final) film was announced in March as being The Movie Critic , with a 1970s setting, many film journalists suspected that it would be based on groundbreaking critic Pauline Kael. That speculation was based on word that the leading character would be a female, but in a more recent interview at Cannes, Tarantino revealed that the lead character will instead be a real-life critic (“but was never really famous”) who wrote for a “porno rag” magazine in the 1970s. As for The Movie Critic being Tarantino’s final film as director, he clarifies in the second half of the interview that his plans could include expanding into directing a TV series. Writer-director Paul Schrader also this week revealed (toward the end of this IndieWire interview) that Tarantino might be remaking the end of 1977 revenge thriller Rolling Thunder , based on Schrader’s original story, to include in The Movie Critic. 3. MOANA STAR AULI’I CRAVALHO WON’T JOIN DWAYNE JOHNSON IN LIVE-ACTION REMAKE Moana (2016) (Photo by Walt Disney) Last month, Dwayne Johnson announced at a Disney shareholders event that he plans on starring in an upcoming live-action remake of the...

Aristocrats still sulk about not receiving coronation invites
Aristocrats still sulk about not receiving coronation invites
I loved reading about random aristocrats that were upset because they weren't invited to the coronation. For months, there were many stories about "peers" of the realm who left angry voicemails and sent strongly-worded letters to the Duke Norfolk. He was the one in charge of this whole mess. The non-royal dukes were angry that King Charles had not invited them, and they were prepared to storm the castle. Charles did not invite any of the Mountbattens or other relatives, and he didn't invite many people who were royally-adjacent. Katy Perry, Queen Camilla and her ex-husband were invited. Yeah. As...
Yeah. As I said in the Chubbly before, if they are really angry, then it will be a slow-burning gossip story. Looks like people are still angry. Hugo Vickers's Mail article: The aristocrats in the whole country are going crazy. The majority of them were not invited to the Coronation. I was told that the Duke, who played a major role in the organisation of the ceremony as Earl Marshal, received dozens of letters from peers explaining their reasons for attending. In the months before, when I gave talks and lectures, hereditary peer's robes were left in the closet. One of them told me that he was a peer and had the 'inalienable' right to attend a Coronation. I'm all for inclusion and recognizing the changing times. My controversial suggestion is that, when Prince William plans his own Coronation he invites an element of aristocrats to the event. The nobility has lost their influence over the years. Patrick Plunket would often tell the Queen that the aristocracy was becoming restive in the early years. She would then throw a ball. It would be a shame to alienate them. One irritated House of Lords peer said to me: "Just wait until the King requests more money from Parliament ...' There were many TV and sports celebrities in attendance. It would have been simple to invite 5 Dukes, marquesses, etc. - 25 seats reserved for hereditary peers. The world has changed. Ant Dec are in, the hereditary peering out for the very first time in 1000 years. I don't think William should invite everyone to his Coronation, when it finally happens. Just a representative group. After all, they are a part the way things are done. They still own large portions of England and Scotland. Many of them dedicate their lives to public service, just as they do the monarchy. Hereditary rights are what keep the King in place. They are also. To complain that peers are just a relic from the past raises awkward questions about monarchy. The Daily Mail What do you make of the fact that the aristocrats still rage, even weeks after the coronation? And that the Daily Mail reports on this? Yeah. It's bad. It's bad for King Charles. Hilarious for everyone else. Charles, more than his son, is close to aristocrats like dukes, viscounts and lords. He is close to them, and they have helped him cover up and facilitate his affairs over the years. Just a little hint: These people know a great deal about Charles and Camilla. It would be a terrible thing if the Duke felt compelled to write an scathing critique of the new King. The Earl of Corgipaw making a big deal about the new king would be devastating to the reign. This is also a serious threat: "to complain about the peers of the kingdom being a mere remnant of the past would raise awkward questions regarding the monarchy." You think that the aristocracy has lost touch with modern society, Charles? Guess what. Cover Images and Avalon Red provided the photos. We’re also including a few remakes from the 1990s which predate the current pile-on. In 2019 alone, there were five releases: Dumbo, Aladdin, The Lion King, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, and Lady and the Tramp. Cruella did well enough as the first major release to have a premiere during the pandemic era (and you’ve got to roll out the red carpet for the Dalmatians villain), though additional entries to this series (2022’s Pinocchio and 2023’s Peter Pan and Wendy) have found varying degrees of success. The latest is The Little Mermaid, with Snow White set for 2024, along with a Mufasa-centric addition to Lion King.

Joy-Anna Duggar Slammed For Unsafe Parenting Just Days After Welcoming Third Child
Earlier this month, Joy-Anna Duggar welcomed her third child, a boy for whom she selected the very Duggar-like name of Gunner. It might be a while before Young Gunner is capable of handling a firearm, but his name is a clear reflection of the Duggar family’s love for all things weapon-related. Anyway, Joy seems to be loving life as a mother of three, and she’s been posting frequent updates about her new bundle of joy. But she hasn’t forgotten about her other kids, of course, and Joy’s latest post shined a spotlight on her daughter, Evelyn. Joy-Anna Duggar posted this...
Joy-Anna Duggar posted this photo of her husband and daughter. (Photo Credit: Instagram) “Bailing hay today,” Joy captioned the photo above. “The kids got to drive the tractors and learned the process of storing up hay for the winter.” Joy also shared a pic of Gunner, who apparently joined her in watching the proceedings. Joy-Anna Duggar shared this pic of her youngest child. (Photo Credit: Instagram) Now, the whole afternoon looks perfectly innocent and wholesome, but mom-shaming the Duggars is one of the internet’s favorite pastimes, so commenters were quick to roast Joy’s parenting decisions. “Shouldn’t you be at home out of the hot sun with a newborn baby[?]” one person asked, according to UK tabloid The Sun. “Kids are adorable, but bare feet on a tractor and on a farm is a recipe for big problems. Take it from someone who grew up in farm country,” another added. Joy-Anna Duggar has a reason to be smiling in this photo. As you can see, she’s been blessed with another kid. (instagram) “Little girl needs shoes on when around farm equipment, please be careful! Cute pictures with dad,” a third chimed in. Thankfully, Joy has been a Duggar her entire life, so she’s probably used to pointless criticism of everything she does. As for Gunner’s name, it appears to have been a last-second decision. He’s here! Joy-Anna Duggar has shared this photo of her third child, Gunner James Forsyth. (instagram) A few weeks before the boy’s birth, Joy indicated that she was leaning toward naming him James as a tribute to Austin’s late grandfather. “Just to give you guys a sneak peek, we are definitely using James either as a first name or the middle name. I’m thinking it will probably be used as a middle name,” Joy wrote in response to a fan’s question, “Austin’s papaw passed away a few years ago, and he told him before he passed that our next boy would have ‘James’ in it. He agreed that we would do that. Joy-Anna Duggar has welcomed her third child. (Photo Credit: Instagram) “We’re going to have James mixed in there somewhere,” she continued. “His name was Edwin James Forsyth, and it was about using his name and honoring him in that way.” In the end, they went with James as a middle name, so they’re still paying tribute to Austin’s gramps. Joy-Anna Duggar is ready to welcome her third child. (Photo Credit: Instagram) And if he were alive, he’d probably be grateful that Joy and Austin didn’t name their son Edwin. It’s bad enough there’s a kid named Spurgeon in this family!

Over the past decade, mobile-first approaches have become more popular and changed how we interact online. There’s almost nothing the desktop computer can do that smartphones can’t. It’s not surprising that well over half of web traffic comes from mobile devices. And for the first ever in the United States we have “smartphone only” internet users, who make up about 20%. The Ericsson Mobility Report predicts that mobile traffic will increase by 25% by 2025. This traffic is largely attributed to video and streaming via mobile devices. How mobile is reshaping B2B landscape Modern life is a constant tether to mobile devices. The average person checks their phone dozens of time a day and multiple times per hour. It is therefore logical to optimize content for mobile devices as they are most likely to be used. Image source: Oberlo Mobile phones have revolutionized how people shop, especially in the B2B sector. Businesses need to adapt to the new, tech-savvy and independent buyers. We’ll explore how this shift affects the B2B market and what you can do to adapt. 1. Mobile-first buyers: what they need to know BCG research found that B2B buyers used mobile phones in the workplace, and 60% said that they played a major role in their recent purchase decisions. Modern workforce is a mixture of Gen Xers, Millennials and Gen Zers who are tech-savvy. They multitask across multiple screens at work. They are also less likely to work at their desks, as they can do their jobs from home. Some even use their smartphones to stay productive while on the road. Early mobile leaders are also able to achieve higher levels of engagement in terms search queries, traffic generation, lead generation and conversion. 2. Accelerating the time to purchase In their buying journey, 80% B2B buyers make use of mobile phones in various touchpoints. Mobile phones can also speed up sales by 20 percent by shortening the time between purchase and completion. This is achieved by improving teamwork and decision-making, especially with complex purchases. B2B buyers that use mobile extensively and work with traditional channels, take on average 49 days to go from lead generation through to purchase. Those who do not use mobile at all for purchasing decisions take on average 84 days. 3. Capturing value Businesses who have adopted a mobile first approach know how important it is to design experiences that are simple and geared towards smartphone users. Mobile-friendly content is designed with simple features like less text and a vertical format to fit better on screens. It also emphasizes visuals like infographics, podcasts and videos. Positive customer experiences build brand loyalty. Over 90% of buyers with a positive mobile experience are likely to purchase from the same vendor in the future, compared to only 50% of those who had a negative mobile experience. What is Mobile-First Design (MFD)? When it comes to attracting and engaging potential customers, content is the key. It is important to remember that mobile devices are the most popular way of surfing the web. According to research, website visitors decide within a few seconds whether to remain on a site or leave. Your content must be mobile-first, so that it is easily digestible and accessible for those who are on the move. Here’s an example of both a good and bad mobile-first design. (You will see the content that needs to be modified to make it mobile friendly). Will posting to your Instagram account on 11.11 at a full-moon make your brand viral? Most likely not. Why should we be concerned about posting on Instagram at the best time? You can post whenever you want, but you may get more engagement by posting when your audience is available. Let’s get straight to the point and look at when to post to Instagram to benefit your brand. Is there a best time to post on Instagram? The short answer to this question is no. This is because each time zone, brand, and sector are different. Let’s face it, if your content is mediocre or poor quality, you won’t see great engagement. There are times when the platform is busiest, and more people use it. There are also peaks specific to your brand and its demographic as well as the content that you post. One of my favorite social media sayings is that “one size does not fit all”. Not all audiences are the same. Not everyone will enjoy your posts. And one strategy may not work for all clients. That’s fine. This article is not a “one size fits all” type of thing. The key Instagram demographics and statistics What will the Instagram landscape look like in 2023? We’ll look at key Instagram stats and demographics. The American Marketing Association discovered that posting content at the end of the day generates 21% higher clicks than the beginning. Posting at night results in a 9.7% drop in click rates. Deloitte Global estimates that the global social media ecommerce industry will exceed US $1 trillion by 2023. India leads Instagram with over 230 million users. What are the best times to post on Instagram? According to Shopify’s sales and peak traffic statistics, these are the best times for Instagram posts. Thursday: 11 a.m. – 6 a.m. Friday: 7 a.m. 11 a.m. 2 p.m. Saturday: 9 a.m. Sunday: 1 a.m. They make sense when you examine them. On Monday through Friday, people are on Instagram during their lunch break and before they go to work. Instagram is less active on the weekends, as people are enjoying their real lives! On Sunday evening, Instagram traffic increases as people prepare for the new week. But remember: big brands will hit the feeds during peak hours. Many brands schedule their Instagram posts to be sent out on the hour. 9am, 10am etc. Schedule your posts for the next hour (9.15 or 10.20) so that they don’t get mixed up with the other posts. When is the best time to post on Instagram? Now that you’ve identified the times when users are most likely to scroll, it’s time to find the best time for your brand to post on Instagram. 1. Consider your desired outcome What do you want to achieve with Instagram? What are you trying to achieve with your Instagram account? Are you more interested in quick purchases, or are you looking to gain fans? Say, for example, that you are running a special lunchtime offer in your restaurant. Consider the following before scheduling your post: Content you post and whether or not it is appropriate for a certain day. #TacoTuesdays do not belong on Mondays. (Disclaimer – I’d still eat these on a Monday!) Why not create a #SundayFunday to showcase your tasty food, like El Cocina? This post includes opening hours, delivery information, and foodie friendly hashtags. You should time your foodie posts to give people enough time to order and get hungry. Your post’s goal. What is the goal of your post? Consider an Instagram Reel if your post is about a lunchtime sale or flash sale. Agorapulse makes this option easy to use. You can also experiment with the time of the repeat to find out what works. Schedule Instagram posts so that they run multiple times. 2. Your top performing posts Instagram insights can be used in the mobile app to find out more about your aud...

The Duke and Duchess have been to New York many times since moving to America. They've attended various award ceremonies, speeches at the United Nations, and charity events. When I look back at their previous trips to New York, it's amazing that we were never able to find out where they stayed. On any of these trips, we never saw photos of the Sussexes leaving or entering a hotel. For a time, there was a rumor that they lived in a highly secured United Nations housing facility for visiting diplomats. I believe this rumor half way. I believe the NY media and paparazzi are also really angry that they don't yet know where the Sussexes live when they come to town. The pap chase is partly a power game and punishment. The media doesn't even know where the Sussexes have stayed. They're now running with the line "the Sussexes are too cheap to spend money on a hotel." Sources have revealed that Harry and Meghan's "nearly catastrophic car chase" was caused by their inability to pay for an hotel. The couple demanded a discount at the Carlyle, Princess Diana's favourite hotel in New York City. Sources in law enforcement claim that the Carlyle's bosses refused to give the couple the generous discount. Instead, the pair stayed with a friend on the Upper East Side. When the paparazzi started following them from the Ziegfeld theatre on Tuesday night -- in what the spokesperson for the company claimed was "a relentless pursuit lasting more than two hours" -- they didn't want the photographers to follow them back to the friend's house and reveal where the pair were staying. According to a New York City police source, Page Six reported: "They would have been better off getting a hotel just for everyone's safety." They were instead cheap and wanted to stay for free. From Page Six What's the deal with NYPD officials openly dissing the Sussexes. It's a strange vibe. This is a common, nonsensical, talking point. Harry and Meghan have become incredibly wealthy by "selling out" to the Windsors, but they're always at the brink of bankruptcy because they are so unsuccessful. I don't believe that the Sussexes requested a large discount for their stay in a hotel, because... they didn't stay in hotels during their numerous visits to New York. One would think that a hotel is less secure (too many exits and entrances, too many people entering and leaving, and less control by their security staff). Are they staying with a friend? Maybe. Page Six may still be f-king mad if they don't yet know where the Sussexes will stay. Backgrid is the source of these photos. A lot of people have had a lot of negative things to say about Teresa Giudice’s husband, Luis Ruelas. Even at this season’s RHONJ Reunion special, we’ll hear accusations that Luis is responsible for a Housewife’s child experiencing harassment and threats. Not every accusation against Luis is for the cameras. And not every accusation is just gossip, either. A woman is suing Luis’ company for harassment. Seated behind Teresa Giudice at the Season 13 Reunion, Luis Ruelas seemed to oscillate between claiming innocence and hinting that he has a lot of dirt on the cast. (Bravo) As we know, Luis lost his old job when he became a reality TV personality. We don’t mean that he quit to become Teresa’s Bravolebrity Househusband. Rather, his employer let him go when alarming stories about his past began to reflect poorly upon the company. But Luis “Louie” Ruelas had already created a business, Digital Media Solutions, many years earlier. According to Luis Ruelas, his brother-in-law is “going through something.” (Image Credit: Bravo) (Bravo) Us Weekly reports that a woman named Juanita Williams has filed a class-action lawsuit against Choice Health Insurance and against Digital Media Solutions. This is new — she filed earlier in May. According to her, she has received numerous telemarketing calls from these firms. The catch? She is listed on the national “Do Not Call” registry. Luis Ruelas says that he is always receiving blame from his future brother-in-law, and that his then-fiancee’s ex-husband warned him that this would be the case. (Image Credit: Bravo) (Bravo) Williams is seeking $1,500 per call. Additionally, her filing includes an allegation that one of Choice Health’s calls in September of 2022, when she answered, transferred her immediately to one of their insurance agents. According to the lawsuit, the healthcare company informed her that Digital Media Solutions had provided her number for them as a prospective sales lead. Teresa Giudice thanked her “chosen family” for attending her and Luis Ruelas’ housewarming “love bubble” party, which felt like a jab at a certain someone. (Bravo) Ruelas launched Digital Media Solutions in 2012 This firm presents itself as a “leading provider of technology-enabled digital performance advertising solutions” with the aim of “connecting consumers and advertisers.” There are absolutely ad services that can benefit both the seller and the consumer. But that doesn’t mean that people are always happy about these “connections.” Obviously. Luis Ruelas suggests two motives for backlash: his brother-in-law wanting to feel needed, and projection. (Image Credit: Bravo) (Bravo) Digital Media Solutions lists Luis Ruelas as both cofounder and the executive vice president of business development. Luis has not publicly addressed the lawsuit. Neither has his wife, Teresa Giudice. Any legal case involving these two is likely to receive a lot of scrutiny. But, we should emphasize that it does not involve Teresa beyond the fact that it’s her husband’s company. Though the Reunion could have been a time to soften their image, Teresa Giudice and Luis Ruelas doubled down on hostilities. (Bravo) So, what is this all about? Is this a frivolous lawsuit from someone who hates spam calls as much as the rest of us? We do not claim to know the facts of the case. However, if someone on the Do Not Call list received unwelcome business solicitations anyway, then yeah, that could be a big deal. And a costly mistake. Referring to his brother-in-law, Luis Ruelas says that he has remained “calm in the last three months around an animal like that?â (Image Credit: Bravo) (Bravo) This is a federal law, and Congress ensured that Americans can sue for statutory damages when companies make unsanctioned calls like this. If it’s 100 calls, Luis and his company...

The duo continued to fuel dating rumors once more with new hangouts in New York City on May 25, 2023. Camila Cabelloand Shawn Mendescould seemingly be back together! The former couple, who announced the end of their romantic relationship with a joint statement on Nov. 17, 2021, were seen packing on the PDA at Coachella on April 14, 2023! After over a year of being apart, the two were kissing in the audience. Shawn and Camila went into their romance as best friends navigating their way through Hollywood as young, new artists, and they soon became two of the most sought after singers in the biz. They were an amazing couple, but their love didn’t last. Still — we’ll always have the memories and so will they. To relive some of them now, take a look at their romantic timeline below: First Meeting
While there’s no photos from their first meeting in 2014, we can only imagine the glow these two probably had at the time. Shawn and Camila met while working together on singer Austin Mahone ’s 2014 tour.During Shawn Mendes: In Wonder , (the singer’s 2020 Netflix music documentary) the couple recalled their first impressions of one another.
“Camila, she was in Fifth Harmony and we were both opening my very first tour ever,” Shawn recalled in the November-released project. “She was the act after me. I was the first in the lineup, with the shortest set, and then they went on. Five years ago, man,” he says. For her part, Camila remembered Shawn as “super hyper-focused,” and explained that she “never saw him that whole tour. He was constantly going in and out of his bus, playing guitar, writing songs,” Camila said.

(Photo credit: SplashNews) After their first meeting, the first time Shawn and Camila were photographed was at the 2015 Video Music Awards in Los Angeles. Camila, at the time, was still a member of the girl group Fifth Harmony . The pair, who were still just friends at this point in their relationship, attended an afterparty at Ysabel in West Hollywood, thrown by Republic Records. A few weeks later, in September (2015), Shawn and Camilareunited at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas. Sometime that same year, the pair crossed paths again at a Taylor Swift concert. “I went to his dressing room to say hi. And we, like, started writing this song,” Camila recalled in Shawn’s Netflix documentary. “Then after that, we like, spent a lot of time with each other because we had the song together and we did a whole Jingle Ball tour together. And that’s really when the f–king saga started,” she explained, admitting, “I really liked him. I guess he liked me, but I don’t really know.” First Collaboration In late November of 2015, Shawn and Camila teamed up for their first collaboration: “I Know What You Did Last Summer.” The upbeat track was a hit and went on to top the music charts. The song also marked Camila’s first solo music venture outside of Fifth Harmony. She would eventually depart from the group in December 2016.
