With the camera lens in the shadows, everything outside the cab is washed out. It gets a little better after 6 minutes when we change direction.

I bailed Buddy out of the juvenile detention facility and took him to his new home. He knew what the truck was for. I opened the door and he jumped right in without instruction. I'm going to have to watch because he would ride with anyone. My brother left his truck door open while filling a can with fuel and Buddy jumped in.

The convoy was sort of a disappointment. Immigrant California drivers and heavy traffic kept the trucks so scattered you couldn't really tell it was a convoy. The closer we got to 'Clown Town,' the more scattered they became. C. W. We intended on going up on top of Rattlesnake Ridge but the wind kicked up and it got very cold. We'll pick a better day and wear more layers. I may make a quick run out to the edge of the desert in my truck to see if that rifle will run on the "Wide Open Trigger."

I hadn't been to Millican Valley since i retired from racing more than 3 decades ago. I returned and with old riding buddies, rode trails that are new to me.

A college classmate came out for a ride. His Kawasaki had been in storage and even with thorough cleaning of the carb, it didn't want to start. A couple shots of ether revived it and it ran all day. We hit lower Succor creek where it runs into the valley floor, passed by a fault line on the West side of Graveyard Rim, rode out to overlook Succor Creek Canyon, returned through Antelope Springs to Strode Basin where we stopped at a couple of grave sites and the ranch site. We both had a problem crossing Sage Creek but Harvey nearly looped it and stuffed the front wheel into a bog. My video camera ran out of storage space before we got to the Poison Creek Halfway Station.

A buddy from my college days is planning to come out for a ride. I had planned to show him some interesting historical sites but at 91.7 miles, this ride is too long for a single OEM tank of fuel. Actually, I cut the ride short and still arrived home with not much more than 2 Tbsp. of fuel remaining.

I hadn't ridden for 3 months. A summer storm trashed my lawn and I messed up my back picking up limbs. I was feeling that a ride might be the kind of exercise I needed to straighten things out. I was 8 miles into the ride before I even thought of my back and not because of pain. 22 1/2 miles, 25 mph average, 75 mph maximum speed. I'm certain the top speed was only momentary. I am running Tubliss® and a leaky front rim plug cut the ride short. The back? Stiff but feels good.

We logged better than 30 miles without getting far from the farm.

Someday, we will get Leo out for a ride and show him some interesting historical sites. Another of my singletracks has been discovered by the damn tourists and they are starting to explore it with 4WD trucks. It will probably be destroyed before summer is over.

My cousin drove some 8 hours, 785 miles with hopes of riding some desert this weekend. With a broken oil filter cap, he went home disappointed. The other guys that were going to ride partied too hard on Sunday and were no-shows. I took my satellite communicator with me and rode better than 50 miles for an easy two hours.

Three Fingers Rock is in view much of the time while travelling Three Fingers Gulch Road.

My riding buddy had an incurable throttle windup sticking problem so I went out alone for an easy ride' I should be careful about easy rides, I broke my leg on the last one.

I broke my leg a bit more than 5 1/2 months ago. With all that time on the couch, I've had very little opportunity for a good workout. I did go on a 60 mile ride after about 5 months but it was easy, all roadwork. This ride felt good but I am really out of shape. One thing, I don't have a problem with fear.

Nothing race pace, I tried to favor the leg and not plant it in the corners. I'm badly out of shape after 5 months on the couch. The knee is really weak. It was good to be on two wheels and in the desert again though I did have a tendency to do too much rubbernecking.

Scout Lodge at Squaw Creek, Hillclimb that wouldn't have been bad except for the sun. Ran low on fuel so it was time to return.

It began to rain, poor visibility, the yellow dirt turns to slime when it gets wet, still, it was a good ride. Burt wants to wear my Liquid Image Video Goggles on the next ride.

We were unable to cross Succor Creek West of Graveyard Point due to fast high water. We had to take Antelope Springs Road to the State Park to cross at the bridge. I started the video at the viewpoint halfway up Antelope Springs Road.

Part 1 had a lighting problem, I think the start switch didn't make good contact.
