S13E17 - Wallboard Repair with Connection Case Study.
There is a difference between totally being a case of the blind leading the blind - and being honest with a post. Even the best, of which I have no claim, do have parts/supplies and situations than try their souls.
People are fast to tell you of their successes - and s l o w... to tell you about when things don't go smoothly. I still have no clue why this was such a fight. I know my eyes don't see as well as they used to and with two bad knees, they aren't alone. No. No excuses. But also, no understanding of what caused this to fail - nor.... why it fought me so hard going back in. But, I don't like to be beaten. You only lose if you quit.
I think this is good for folks to be reminded of, most especially new home owners. There is so much you can do. And always watch out for Gremlins. They do exist - just don't get the bastages wet!

S13E11 - Part 1 – Mini Split System Install – Outdoor Through Brick Veneer
What is the difference between brick veneer, a brick wall and a structural brick wall. Thinking about attaching a condensing unit to a brick veneer wall? Are there ways, perhaps not foolproof, but are there ways to reduce the likelihood of damage? No guaranties (follow at own risk) but here is how I did it.

S13E8 - A Primer on Espresso Kit - What Do I Really Need To Know
This is a "start here" or primer for you, that is depending on if you are interested in making espresso at home. You know, to shorten the learning curve. There isn't anything here you can't find elsewhere, it just condensed. The idea is spend 20 minutes now, and the thousands and thousands of YouTube videos and their hours might be a bit more fruitful.

S13E7 - A Look at a Grinding Coffee – Model BD-CG015
And now, a diversion. Recently I rekindled an interest in espresso. Needless to say, I need a bit of new kit to do it. Maybe you are not into espresso but do like a coffee in the morning or have a wake-up ritual that includes the sights, sounds and aroma of freshly ground coffee. I cannot yet address longevity nor durability of this grinder, it is on the start, a very good one. For me precision of a grind is a must because whatever your brew, the grind size influences the flavour. © 2023 Del Hollow Productions

S13E6 - Two Pre Rinse Kitchen Faucets - Which is Best (Moen or allen + roth)
As you know, I am not a plumbing contractor but I do try to keep up around the house. Recently I wanted to change out a (not so) old kitchen faucet. This show is about something, which may be super common, but I had never seen it before. I compare two similar looking pre-rinse faucets whose similarity stops there. © 2023 Del Hollow Productions

S13E5 - Power Up an Elitech WiFi Controller to Control Larger Devices
This little project is a little mod that can be used for many applications. The heart of it is a WiFi controller that can be used to give alarms and control outputs. It’s fairly generic and can be used to control things from hatcheries to home brew operations, to greenhouses to humidors and meat aging/drying rooms. What I want is to stop worrying that I am losing heat in a remote building. Maybe the heater fails or can’t keep up. Well, the internet controller is versatile but it is limited to 10 amps switching and that may not be enough with HP and inrushes to run larger fans or compressors. In my case. I want to control a heater whose thermostat is a bit sticky.

S13E3 - Practical Options for Stopping a Honda TRX450 Front end Squeak
Well, I can't complain. The old 4x4 has been good to me. But this season, the squeaking was out of control. So I toured YouTube, I talked to others and I priced new shocks (it is 20 years old). LOL! They want $200+ per.

S12aE23 - EMERGENCY (sorta) Video on Residential Duplex Receptacles
Well, not exactly an emergency, and it's bad YouTube community form to be critical of other producers, but tell me, what do you do when someone isn't just incorrect but actively spreading misinformation, fear, as well a completely missing the most important parts? I mean, nobody is perfect but how about we just say "This is how I did it, this is the way I remember, this is what happened..." Sorry, but the phrase "This is one of the most common mistakes I see home owners do" sorta implies you know the right way and do a bunch of it.
Sometimes this subject come up, relate your experiences, share ideas, be entertaining - but if there is a potential danger, please, please, please don't act like an expert if you are not. We all learn off others or through books or in-person. If something can start a residential fire, be careful is all I'm saying. © 2022 Del Hollow Productions

S12aE25 - The Best Laid Plans of Mice and Men - Grab Bar on a Fiberglas Tub-Shower
The Scotsman and poet Robert Burns wrote a line in To a Mouse “The best laid plans of mice and men often go astray.” Not actually, but that is a fairly common translation. This project was full of twists and turns. Despite all the preparation, we simply don’t have X-ray eyes. But it does address my planning process. I even left one option out – coming through the closet. In this video, The Best Laid Plans of Mice and Men - Grab Bar on a Fiberglass Tub-Shower, I started as always with a thorough pre-plan as I do and quickly ran into complications.

S12aE24 - Carburetor Replacement on a STIHL® MS271 Chainsaw
So, long story short, I generally fix my own stuff but since I didn’t need this anytime soon, I thought I’d support local and let “professional” Stihl dealership fix it. Well, their price was a bit dear so I just bought parts and did it myself. You can too. But $1,200/hr is a bit much in this economy. They first quoted me “it’s about $30.” Nope quickly it went to $60+ dollars plus labour and tax. I bought the carb and air cleaner having recently changed plugs and though – somewhere, someone might want to see this 5 minute job. I’m not a small engine mechanic and have never worked on another Stihl saw. So I can’t address other models or older/newer MS271s. S12aE27 - WTD 2022 - Which is Better - American Standard VorMax® v Kohler Cimarron® v Toto Drake II®
In this video, “S12aE27 – World Toilet Day – Which is Best - American Standard VorMax® vs Kohler Cimarron® vs Toto Drake II®,” we look at price, warranty, design and function.
Here we look less at opinion (albeit there is inevitably some within) and more at a public resource which has relevant data on the flush performance of many popular models. Now, there is no distinction above 1 kg of soy paste but not all water closets can flush that much.

S12aE28 - Carburetor Reconditioning/Rebuild for a STIHL® MS271 Chainsaw
Actually, it doesn’t take too long to change the gaskets and diaphragms out in a two-stroke carburetor – but, not everyone has done it – and yes, you would have to try but you can do it wrong. Here is an example of how I did it. …and yes, I mover slow enough for a “Never-Done-It” to feel comfortable.
If you don't skip over it, there are some options I thought of. I'm rather interest if any of you have tried them. If you have, please comment.
