S14E04 - Companion Video to LP Gas Water Heater
As a Semi-pro dot connector, I do sometimes miss a connection. I feel some of the value of this video is for the world - to see, that people do exist on social media who admit being human. I don't like unanswered questions, even though they are the most common type. While I still could be wrong and completely innocent, I think I unpacked a riddle.

S14E02 - Adding a Cooldown Cycle to a Typical Chinese Band Sealer
Fair notice! This video was not planned and not intended for novices. And, I don’t know how many people need a package (heat) sealer. But, to try to make it interesting to a wider audience, I thought I’d speak to other than “band sealer” options. Most, if not all, of which are cheaper. And, there was a huge afterthought (as a video inclusion) that doubles the length where we nerd-out a little bit.
You get to see this function twice (once in segment 1 and again in segment 2). PLEASE NOTE: The dial adjustment is set to “just operational” mode which says it’s 2 minutes. This knock-off is way, way, way off.
Omron specs say for the timer: (Time range: 0.5 to 10 min)
Accuracy of operating time, ±1% FS max. (0.5 s range: ±1%±10 ms max.) *1. Setting error ±10%±50 ms FS max.
Note: The video has been recorded at 1.2x playback speed. © 2023 Del Hollow Productions LLC

S13E36 - Cuba Libre Gelatin Shots and Many Bogs
Don’t know what Many Bogs are? Watch the show. It is the end of the year and the next several are likely to be very harsh. While I stay on my own much of the time and so, have very little “social drinking” – this is the designated driver time of the season where everyone – exercises common sense and responsible actions. As explained in the video, I and not a Jello Shot kinda guy. But in mass gatherings of family and friends, with fun and games – we have a few. Will it prevent the girls from cheating at Pictionary? Probably not. But safety systems are in place to see everyone makes it home safely. © 2023 Del Hollow Productions

This is a review of a pair of solar parking lot lights from Amazon. Most of the offerings there look strikingly similar. These are pole, sq-post or wall mount. I replaced a Harbour Freight lamp that failed. Video includes a brief wildlife clip. © 2023 Del Hollow Productions

S13E34 - Initial Product Review - Siedinlar Solar Deck Lights.
This may take longer than it should, but I think it is better than a simple “unboxing.” The box couldn’t get much more basic. I am trying something that, in my application, couldn’t hurt to try but probably won’t make much of a difference.
I did do something which should help maximize battery life. If you watch this, see if you pick up on it. Again, at worst, it can’t hurt. I do show something pretty typical in these sort of things. I hope the design on these are more robust. © 2023 Del Hollow Productions

S13E33 - An Observation on eufy's Group Control and Odd Behaviours
With online content I think there are two main divisions: one entertainment and two information. This is much more of the latter. Here I demonstrate something anomalous in eufy’s app and hardware. Specifically, the HomeBase 2, eufy cam 2c, and 2c Pro. Not always is a problem real, occasionally manufactures do a poor job of explaining HOW something is DESIGNED and INTENDED to function. When we consumers expect something else – it appears broken. Perhaps this is the case. Perhaps not.
But a quick search online suggests that – real or perceived, eufy has a few problems they should look into. Because whether on the manufacturer’s end or our the consumer’s end – meeting realistic expectations matters. © 2023 Del Hollow Productions

S13E32 - Group Control - Did eufy Knock it out of the Park, or is eufy Goofy again?
For better or worse, when I switched to Android 13 from a 2015 circa phone – the app failed badly. So I shot a video. But before I could release it – they sent a base station update and that fixed quite a few issues. Still, it appears they have a few things that be they consumer confusion on how the system works or actual bugs, here are some of my observations. I don’t think it’s just me reading some community posts. But you be the judge. For me, I still think eufy is a leader in the industry. But I would like to see some improvements. © 2023 Del Hollow Productions

S13E31 - A Deep Dive at the Video Quality of eufy and Similar Cameras
You know the expression – “When you rob Peter to pay Paul…?” There’s more difference between a live camera and an event driven than you might first think. Before-we-buyers want to kick the tires so to speak, but in the world of consumer-grade wireless cameras influencers seem to get different results than we do. Always showing the sunny side of life. Most watch for information not entertainment. © 2023 Del Hollow Productions

S13E30 - Multizone with eufy Security System - Why and How
This is a companion video for S13E29 that dealt with system architectures. What this does is look specifically at the non-solocam architecture and how separate alarming (and other features) can be implemented. In the next video we will do a deep dive into some of the surveillance product these generate around the hollow. Remember, to avoid disappointments we must have reasonable expectations; we must understand the tradeoffs when we rob Peter to pay Paul. © 2023 Del Hollow Productions

S13E29 - Before You Buy - Home Security System Architecture
You know the expression – “When you rob Peter to pay Paul…?”
Well, this is another unusual video. I’ve made it because a brother had been wanting to add video around the house. At some point you just have to say “Wow, I had no clue how many different companies there are slinging home security products out there.” In my case, just yesterday, in FB, I had I think 17 adverts in a row for either security products or services.
What makes this video different is that I’m not talking up (or down) any specific product but the “How, when and why” the overall system design constrains operation. © 2023 Del Hollow Productions

S13E27 - Tips for Installing a Tile Backsplash for Beginners
Here’s a video collection of post-job tips. Some are old from way-back, some are new like pre-mix grout and laser levels. Times do change and much of it – never will. I have not done a tile job in a while, and if it wasn’t for this economy being a train wreck, I would have hired it done. It’s so much easier. But at the same time, I admit that I am particular. S13E25 - What are the Typical Tools Needed to Install a Backsplash
So you might be thinking that you are up for putting in your own backsplash. Well, there are different types of materials that can make it a challenge for first timers and DIYers but these thin ceramic subway tiles and similar, are pretty easy to work with and you may not need an expensive wet saw or rental. So, in this video (it’s a little longer than most of these online videos – but hopefully, time passes quickly and it’s complete.

S13E22 - Don't Try this at Home - Tile on Cabinets
Don't try this at home. You could damage your cabinets or have tile that won't stay where you put them. You can also search the internet for a tile adhesive suitable for the job (if one exists); however, such a product may still require prep to the cabinet surface. Because, everyone knows – “Time is Money.” Here, I ran into a situation where a sub may have genuinely not known any other way. © 2023 Del Hollow Productions

S13E20 - How to Install a Built-In Microwave Like a Pro
I perused the web looking for “How Tos” on built-in microwaves. Quite a wide variety actually; however, most fixate on swapping one out with scant details on planning, electrical and virtually no admission when something doesn’t go as planned. Designing a kitchen - especially in this economy of supply chain shortages, long cabinet delays and labour shortages - can really let the obvious slip up on you.
You won’t believe this – but, it got done. Remember, it’s not a race. Due to something within, I actually dropped a few steps that are self-evident in order to show the surprises. © 2023 Del Hollow Productions

S13E17 - Wallboard Repair with Connection Case Study.
There is a difference between totally being a case of the blind leading the blind - and being honest with a post. Even the best, of which I have no claim, do have parts/supplies and situations than try their souls.
People are fast to tell you of their successes - and s l o w... to tell you about when things don't go smoothly. I still have no clue why this was such a fight. I know my eyes don't see as well as they used to and with two bad knees, they aren't alone. No. No excuses. But also, no understanding of what caused this to fail - nor.... why it fought me so hard going back in. But, I don't like to be beaten. You only lose if you quit.
I think this is good for folks to be reminded of, most especially new home owners. There is so much you can do. And always watch out for Gremlins. They do exist - just don't get the bastages wet!
